Torn between Barry and Downing.
I'm going Barry on the basis that if he stays at Citeh they are the club I most want to see staying potless. Imagine the uproar and disappointment 3 years from now, another £500 million poured in and nothing won apart from last seasons FA Cup.

Barry gave us good service.

Young got the chance to go to ManU and play in the champions league.

Both the club and Jimmy were offered a great deal of money, and Milner's attitude was always spot on.

Downing can go fuck himself.

I still don't get the Gazza Bazza angst. He stuck with us through a lot of tough times. He gave us great service. He never complained about anything in public. He continued with us after the L''The Mighty Reds YNWA' pitch.
He's alright.

I do feel a little aggrieved with downing because we invested in him despite the injury, and although he stuck with 'Boro for several years he committed to us.

Except for when he complained on the front page of the Evening Mail about how we were denying him his Champions League dream, and begged us to let him go.  Compare and contrast with Ashley Young.

He was also very close to fucking off to Portsmouth of all people in 2006.

Barry was a good servant, I like Milner and with the money on offer I'm sure we wanted to sell him, and Ashley goes with my blessing.

Downing didn't do enough at Villa for me to register any anger at him leaving. Barry, on the other hand, whined like a twat in the News of the Screws, banged on about Chumps League football being his priority, took the money on offer at City and has done very little, in my opinion, to justify his move. And mostly because he started playing for England again - nobody wanted him until he became one of the better decision's of McClaren's England reign.

Barry - although it was annoying at the time, we definatley had the last laugh there, we got the best years out of him and then got a very handsome sum of money for him - still laugh at his fat arse trying to catch the German (Ozil?) at the world cup ;D

Milner - not yet with City making the champions league this year, but hopefully soon he might come back - gave his all even in his last game even though he was gone

Young - his time here was done, first 2 seasons - different class for us, towards the end he was a diving whinging git - utd have a quality player

Downing - always raging we got this tool from Boro instead of Johnson - came to us injured and was pish poor/getting close to average, then hit a purple patch for 3-4 months - if he dosent feign injury before his return to Villa park our right back or left back will have a field day against this cowardly, yellow, lapping bastard

to sum up:-

 Downing,

i hope his next shite is a hedgehog

I personally will enjoy watching Ash winning many cups. He's a classy player, he was always going to play for a club like Man United.

I don't wish misery on anyone, I'm not that type of person, but it'd be funny to watch Ash winning all these cups whilst Downing struggles to make top 4 with Liverpool.

I just don't like how Downing has gone about his buisness, he's been a sneaky little shit.

Where's the 'none of them option'?

They mean nothing to me now, I want them all to fail miserably and fade into obscurity.  Why should I wish any good for them, they're playing for teams I have no affinity for, so fuck them.  Villa is all that matters, not how many medals Young might win.

I would like to see Downing get substituted after 25 minutes in Liverpool's play off final from the Championship in two years though.

He also handed-in a transfer request for a time under Gregory after the two had a falling-out. Think it was around the time of Grecian 2000's comment about Barry ''afraid of getting his shorts dirty''.

Lardarse Custardpants is the only one I have an issue with.

Remember this? (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/2304363/Gareth-Barry-I-want-to-join-Liverpool-my-mind-is-made-up.html)

My mind's made up, I want to join Liverpool.

There's no going back, it's time for me to move on. I'm desperate to play Champions League football and that's why I have to leave Villa.

Hmmmm.

I expected no different of Downing and so am relatively non-plussed. At least he handed in his notice and the deal was done relatively quickly and we got decent money.

I seem to remember many Villa fans being in uproar that Barry wasn't being picked for England-he was brilliant in the Graham Taylor season.Like Yorke he was a great player whom gave us many seasons so good luck to him.

Milner was really disappointing but can understand it given the current Villa position-hope he comes back one day

Downing went via the Steve Hodge route-didn't even mention Villa when he left. Good riddance to the man as he obviously had no feeling for the club

Personally I think we should all forget them-as this is the way of football these days. Spurs got into the champions league and look at the situation they have now with Modric. We'd better get used to it

Barry - cried and stamped his feet over champions league, interviews in paper about how we was holding him back and he joined citeh who weren't even in the uefa cup
Ash - kept going to the end for us, frustrating at times but could always turn it up. Don't blame him for going to one of the best teams in the world
Jimmy - amazing player who even on his last game put in a great display and goal
Downing - don't really care, let's face it one good season and we've taken Kenny to the cleaners. I'm more bothered about Cuellar in all honesty

Barry was the long-term lover that shit on us at the end.
Milner was a dalliance we went back to because it hadn't finished properly but it was never really going to work out between us.
Ash was someone we loved but knew it would never last as we were in two different places.
Downing was a fling that we thought might turn out well but he ended up being a bitch.

I'm torn, normally I'd have picked Barry because he was just an arse, Downing is the more recent so it feels worse right now.

I've gone for lard-arse.

Not bothered whether they go on to win the World Cup, the Champions League and to be mentioned in the same breath as Lionel Messi or end up on loan at Hull.

Just so long as they have 180 minutes of anonymous mediocrity every season against us for the rest of their careers, fine.

Maybe I'm cynical, but does anyone really buy in to this pantomime villain stuff anymore? They did what I would do tomorrow in the blink of an eye given half the chance: go to  a new employer for shedloads more money.
