Started 17 minutes ago. I'll give it a go. Decent standard so far. France on top against Nigeria... hoping the Super Falcons (Nigeria) can cause an upset.
Will be happy if anyone other than Germany or USA win the cup. It's boring if the same teams keep winning all the time.
It's on Eurosport by the way.
-
I think I've just seen The Nigerian Female Harewood.
Shocking miss. Best chance of the game so far.
-
Half-time nil-nil. I see World Cup fever has taken hold on H&V.
-
One-nil France. Bugger.
-
Finished one-nil.
Germany (hosts, holders and massive favourites) V Canada has just started. Come on Canada!
-
2-0 to the Jermans at half time, Canada can't do much in the last third.
-
The Germans are cheating, diving bastards to a woman.
-
2-1, with 6 minutes to go. Canada back in with a (very slim) chance...
-
France on top against Nigeria...
Wahey!!
-
Nice goal from Sinclair, I met her a few years ago through work and is very nice.
-
England v Mexico now on Eurosport and BBC Red Button/Website.
-
One-nil to England, header from a corner. Williams. Not such a bad day for people called Williams after all.
-
One-one. Good long-range hit but the keeper should've done better.
-
So basically no one cares then?
-
I do, beats doing work!
-
North Korea v USA.
Socialist Utopia vs Great Satan.
Come on you Koreans!
-
Bugger. Two-nil to the capitalist pig-dogs.
-
Yep I can see it being a USA v Germany final but I think everyone can see that one.
-
Fuck that. It's Pitcairn's year.
-
Fuck that. It's Pitcairn's year.
No, I've done my best, googled it and everything and I still can't think of a decent Pitcairn pun.
Over to you H&Vers.
-
You're not trying hard enough. There must be a Bounty of them.
-
You've just Cook'd that one up.
-
England beat New Zealand 2-1
-
The coverage of the daytime matches seems to have been bumped to make way for the French Drug-Taking Championship.
Surely Sky, Channel 5 or ITV4 could've shown it if Eurosport can't be arsed?
-
It is a pity that the women's game still isn't high profile enough to get decent coverage. The games I've watched so far have been okay. Some classic comedy goalkeeping aside of course.
-
Oh dear...
-
Oops!
-
Brazil's first goal today was dodgy, he seemed to favour them over the Norwegians.
-
Into the Second Half of Extra-Time, England 1 France 1.
-
Just like watching the Villa. 1-0 up, holding on for dear life then conceding in the dying moments.
-
In fairness, it would've been a travesty if France hadn't at least got to extra time. They've been the better side. England look knackered and just need to hold on and hope to sneak through on penalties. Hopefully they've never watched the men in a shoot-out!
-
That trainers arse is nearly as big as Barrys'
-
Penalties everyone, if you haven't already, get BBC2 on...
-
Come on the bints
-
Labia taking the first one for the french
-
and mrs.
-
Stop that!
-
3 very good penalties from the English lass's
-
That put the mockers on it.
-
England out on penalties. Sounds familiar!
-
Out on penalties yet again. As sure as night follows day.
-
Not much diving going on from the keepers.
-
Apparently the pain of landing on your boobs is similar to you attaching your balls to your chest and diving on them.

Wouldn't they land on their side (the keepers, I mean, not the boobs)? Anyway, I take your point. Kind of puts them at a disadvantage when it come to saving penalties, so I guess she did well to get the first one.

Watching the women's football. I do hope it's a kicking match. There's few things sexier than seeing lasses kick the shit out of each other.
Number 14 for France is a corker. I'd love to get her at West Ham. I'd also love to rub Wintergreen Ointment deep into her sumptuous thighs.
Was once offered a job managing a woman's football team. I gave them my list of demands and they threatened to go to the police. Queers.
-
France deserved to go through but it was a shame we didn't hold on, we were the walking wounded at the end.

If Hope Powell is soon to step down after 13 years as coach of the England women's side, she has delivered quite a parting shot. After the defeat to France on penalties in the World Cup quarter-finals she accused some of her squad of "cowardice" for failing to volunteer to take a spot-kick.
Three of the back four stepped up in the shoot-out, with the 22-year-old left-back Claire Rafferty, who had been brought off the bench to make her World Cup debut 10 minutes from the end of the initial 90, and the central defender Faye White, the captain, in what may well have been her last game in an England shirt, missing the fourth and fifth attempts from the spot to send France through to the semi-finals.
"Three times I had to ask [for volunteers] before anyone stepped forward," said Powell. "'Where are you?' I was thinking, and then a young kid is the first to put her hand up. And Kelly Smith was dying on her feet but she stepped up and took one. You've got to want to take a penalty, but other players should have come forward and they didn't. That's weak, it's cowardice."

Hope Solo fever is going wild over here.
They even covered the sport on ESPN for a few minutes today!

She's probably being brought up by Chewie.

Superb Final.
USA led with ten minutes to go when Japan equalised.
The Great Satanettes then led again with two minutes of extra-time to play when when the Japaneses snatched another leveller.
2-2, Japan win 3-1 on penalties. Much better than the men's final last year.
-
A deserved win for the Japan ladies.

A deserved win for the Japan ladies.
Especially as the Yanks had a man playing at number 20.
