The Hearts Board of Directors has issued the following statement in relation to outside influences on players and the club.
"What's happening with the club today is not a new thing. For almost 7 years we have been fighting to shield the club from crooks, criminals and thieves. Many of the top players at the club have felt the bitter results of the swindles that have been carried out with them on their own skin. Skacel and Webster have returned to the club after realising where these 'football patriots' have led them.
"Over a short space of time 4 players at our club have been on the wrong end of the law. We note that 3 of them are represented by the same agent - Gary Mackay - who has been so vicious in his attacks against Mr Romanov.
"Taking into account the facts that have been omitted by the media it can be presumed that each of these cases is not a coincidence, but the result of targeted actions of a mafia that wants to manipulate the club and the results.

"Every year Hearts fights to be in the top 3, but even last season in the last 12 games of the season it was almost like someone replaced the team with a different one. Whose fault is that? Players? Manager's? Or it is mafia.
"Stealing players, bad games, problems with the law - all of that on top of record SFA fines. Problems are just shifted to another level.
"Mafia are dragging kids into the crime, in order to blackmail and profit on them. It is not possible to separate these people from pedophiles, and you don't need to do that. Each year we are forced to fight against these maniacs harder and harder. We are standing in their way not letting them manipulate the game of football in the way they want. As such they undermine us in every possible way they can.
"The task of the club is to tear these kids out of hands of criminals."

Eh?
-
blimey. You don't see that every day. It's a complete mess up at Hearts since that chairman took over. I feel sorry for the Hearts fans because none of them could ever have seen this coming when Romanov arrived. That is one hell of a statement.
-
...........and we thought we had problems
-
Stalinesque. All that's missing is references to spiders and poisoners.
-
Just saw this from Watko on twitter. WTF is exactly what I was thinking.
-
The first half is surprising but corporate in tone. The second half of the statement after the advertisement tells us what is 'really' happening - I hope he's alright. The Scottish FA have to step in. If they don't investigate the club we know how far the 'mafia' have got.
-
Surely that's a wind up by someone working on their website?
-
I can just imagine Robert Plant singing that
-
There'll be some decapitated horses in Scotland tonight.
-
Do the Scottish FA have a fit and proper persons test .....I have a feeling that there may be a problem passing it ..... No problem with the English FA or The Premier Leagues however.
-
I don't understand. Can somebody more familiar with the issues explain what the Hell that statement is banging on about please?
-
I will have a go for you....the chairman's a twat!
-

I gathered that. What's he on about though? Sounds like he has talked himself into an almighty suing.
-
What a great club statement, tell it how it is!
-
the guy is a serious nut job
in a game at hearts home ground last season a supporter got pitchside from the home stand and attacked Neil Lennon of Celtic
this guys answer?
cut Celtic's allocation by between 400 - 600!!!!
there is air getting in
-
We had the same last against the shit in the cup game,it was for our own safety.....of course it was.
-
"it's a funny old game saint"
"oh you kill me greavsie!"
"yeah...I'm the mafia"
bloody hell! there's something rotten in the state of Scotland!
cue nobody in the press giving a fuck about this as of next week as they all froth at the mouth about what Chelski et al are upto
-
So it's the mafia's fault that one of their players sent pictures of his privates to teenage girls?
-

I thought you were Scottish?
-

John Arne Riise?
-
Hasn't one of their players just been put on the sex offenders register as well?
-
i think someone has hacked there site or its a dissolusioned worker with access who has a serious axe to grind.
-
I'm pretty sure Alex Salmond will sort it all out. He's already put a stop to sectarian chanting.
-
I spoke to a hearts fan a few years ago and they really hate him up there. If this really is an official club statement, then he's lost any of the plot he might of had left

Reminds me a bit of a ranting article Karen Brady put in the Blues match programme about People outside the ground selling unofficial merchandise.
It went something like
'These people are SCUM, draining the life out of your club, do not buy off these lowlifes.'
-
As a season ticket holder at Hearts as well as Villa I have to firstly say that the statement is an embarrassment. To try to put some context into it, by "mafia" Romanov means a combination of Rangers, Celtic & the SFA. The refereeing decisions that the Old Firm get weekly are a farce. As for reducing Celtic's ticket allocation, their fans, as well as singing pro-IRA songs, fought with stewards & a ballboy ended up in hospital after being hit by a coin. Their behaviour was similar in their previous visit, but, perhaps understandably, Hearts are highlighted by a fan's disgraceful attack on (the odious) Lennon. Still a ludicrous statement to appear on the club's website and it has led to the player who sent the images to underage girls being reinstated despite almost all fans wanting him kicked out.
With Downing now likely to go, it's not been a great start to the weekend. Never have I felt so apathetic about a forthcoming season.

The Blues have also issued a very strange statement...
"Following assumptive and incorrect newspaper articles published over the last couple of days, that Birmingham City is concerned could potentially lead to our supporters believing something that is inaccurate, the club has released the following statement…
The club is disturbed and very concerned with the recent reporting by selective, and we believe agenda-lBlues Logoed, reporters suggesting that the Birmingham City Board had interfered with the previous manager in the transfer market. That is factually incorrect and the club did, on the 14th June 2011, release a statement on this site stating our position.
It is reiterated very strongly that there is a robust system in place whereby only players with the written authorisation of the manager had ever arrived at the club under the previous manager and will still be the case going forward.
Players recommended by the Board, such as Babel, Odemwingie, Pennant and a Chinese player, for commercial reasons, didn't arrive as no approval was forthcoming from the manager. Players such as Dembele chose not to come and N'Zogbia due to his sudden demand for last minute increase in wages. In the case of Zamora, it was felt there had been quite a few injuries and anyway he signed a massive new contract at Fulham due to our approach.
As the legal dispute is ongoing, it is appropriate that this myth of interference is put to rest once and for all"

To sum up -
The Hearts owner is mental
He doesn't like the SFA
He doesn't like the 'Auld Firm'
He doesn't like agents
His least favourite agent is Gary Mackay
He's not a great fan of players or managers either
To be fair, he's probably lovely to his mum.

Sort of questions why he owns a football club really. Especially one in Scotland when he's a Lithuanian-based Russian!

Perhaps this is who he means -

their owner is mental...
i dont agree with them standing by that peado though...

Wait a moment. You have season tickets at Hearts & Villa, and you live in Cardiff ?
I salute your dedication!

Were you in the Bricklayers Arms before Fulham away? I remember talking to a Villa/Hearts season ticket holder there who was flying up to Scotland that evening to watch the Edinburgh derby the day after. If it was you, I still owe you a pint.
-
The PR makes a bit more sense now that the Hearts player has just been done for displaying some peadophile tendencies

Yes, that would be me. Final season totals were 39 Villa games, 12 Hearts and 1 Cardiff City. Not impossible I'll be in The Bricklyer's on August 13.
-
Might see you there then if I go.
-
Sorry, I won't be there. I'll be busy, texting pictures of my erect penis to underage girls.

This is why I no longer watch CITV.

I also send them to CBeebies to be read out as `birthday cards'.
-
Apparently CBeebies was taken off Radio 7 when it transmuted into Radio 4 Extra because some segments of the show were emitting penis shaped airwaves from a paedo hackers group.
