I have been trying to think of other subjects that have created a storm on here like the current situation. Without turning this into another 'Manager' thread what topics keep cropping up that make us:
1. Go mad
2. Keep starting and locking threads
3. Keep chucking Shit at the fan
If you know what I mean. We ain't had a Peter Crouch thread for ages :)
-
The Bolton Defender.
-
Being linked with and then signing Marlon Harewood.
-
Moscow
-
03/03/03
The infamous Cuntgate night.
-
Right or wrong. Should the merits of biscuits be discussed in the match thread.
-
Spurs wage bill v ours, particular attention to image rights payments.
-
The players' statement caused a bit of a hooplah, didn't it?
-
Barry went over 1000 pages. The last days of O'Dreary.
-
Oh and "Owls Vs Gibbons", my personal favourite.
-
03/03/03
The infamous Cuntgate night.
Before my time, but I like the sound of it.....
-
MON walking out.
-
Oh and "Owls Vs Gibbons", my personal favourite.
That should have been amended to Owls V Gibbons V Hamsters... FACT

The infamous Cuntgate night.
Before my time, but I like the sound of it.....
It was a cracker, unfortunately lost in teh ether now due to a change of forums.
-
Should we not also include a certain club historian demanding an apology?
-
Oh yes, and also the several threads which surfaced after every "We note with interest" press release VFC made.
-
Oh and "Owls Vs Gibbons", my personal favourite.
That should have been amended to Owls V Gibbons V Hamsters... FACT
The hamsters never stood a chance. FACT.
-
The recent Off Topic one about the Bin Laden killing and then subsequent " discussion" about September 11 conspiracy theories was quite amusing
-
Not so much a storm, but wasn't the highest amount of users online at one stage when we signed the Djemba brothers?
-
Barry went over 1000 pages.
Didn't it get closed and a new one started at the end of p999? I seem to remember laughing at whoever did that.
-
Pigs in mud??
-
A bloke called Dennis Box coming on here to call Dave Woodhall a ******.
-
That bloke who wanted us to vote for his kid or he'd "lay his fists all over us".
-
Religion
Asylum seekers
-
Oh and "Owls Vs Gibbons", my personal favourite.

I beg to differ...
-
The 'they shut the Bartons after the Man City Game' was a long one too.
-
Why didn't Barry take the penalty?
-
quite alot has happened to us in recent times really .... not all good..
-
Villa fans worried and the subsequent meltdown (to coin a phrase) of Herr. Mooney.
The 'fists all over you' thread.
When Jessica Rabbit took Matthew Barton's identity.
-
Cnut night.
-
Man City fa cup surrender
-
The Europa League fiasco.
-
Are the old threads archived anywhere or are they lost forever?
-
Can he play right back?
-
Are the old threads archived anywhere or are they lost forever?
A bit of both.
-
John Blackwell's list of managers who were better than Martin O'Neill. John Blackwell claiming that Oyvind Leonhardsen was one of the world's best midfielders.
-
The gay mafia.
-
If hell does indeed freeze over in the next couple of days, I think we will have quite a few new candidates.
-
The spoof thread "Taylor Resigns" was good entertainment with Robobum going apoplectic with rage.
-
It hasn't been mentioned on H&V much but apparently we're looking for a manager or something?
-
The 'comic relief donation thread'......the name of the particular individual escapes me but I think it was Salifou who kept winding him up! I had the link saved on my old computer at work but lost it when I changed jobs.....I used to just read it during quiet times when I needed a livener.....absolutely hysterical! In fact.....the reason I eventually signed in to H&V after a fair few months of being merely a voyeur!
-
when I first found this site a couple of years back there used to be almost weekly threads with Gregnash going absolutely bonkers about one thing or another. Wasn't he always arguing with Chris Smith or have I got that wrong? They were quite funny threads.
Also the "dilemma" thread with Supertom et al. Very very funny at times.
-
The stoning of the Bartons.....
-
The shitting on the floor of the toilet in the Bartons.
-
I can honestly say that after supporting Villa for 47 years this is the worse reaction i have known since the board was kicked out in the early sixties
-
03/03/03
The infamous Cuntgate night.
Before my time, but I like the sound of it.....
This is the winner by a country mile. It was like experiencing an opera played out across H&V. Never has a four letter word led to so much reaction by so many for so long.

Scary to think that was over 8 years ago.

Blimey, 8 years!
Did the prostitute revalation make an appearance in that thread or was that another spectacular meltdown entirely by teh man?
-
John Blackwell's list of managers who were better than Martin O'Neill. John Blackwell claiming that Oyvind Leonhardsen was one of the world's best midfielders.
That was very funny, then someone (Mark Fletcher?) did another list that I can honestly say had me in tears.
-
That time they renamed Royal Mail as "Consignia".
-
The badge design furore was the most pointless and boring postathon on here but the Canestan Kid's love life was off the wall and very amusing but my favourite was the fish puns the way people kept carping on about it.
-
There really does need to be an epic threads from history section here somewhere. Just a thought.
Loved that Jessica Rabbit/Matt Barton one.
-

Strange. I followed that thread quite closely and even changed my signature to support the owls, but I can't remember hamsters coming into it.

A flagrant attempt to reopen a classic. Sorry.

No, that Was Morrissey2020 (Now Morrisseybentybenty)
It was a work of genius, had me in hysterics
-
Solano and "lockergate" was a good one as well.
-

Yeah I'd call that one of my finest moments.
-
Why didn't Barry take it?
-
An alleged incident involving a gentleman of a foreign persuasion driving a vehicle backwards.
-
I've just been reading about Man Utd losing in the Uefa Cup and I can't for the life of me think why we didn't take our rightful place in that competition after being FA Cup runners up last year, given that Arsenal had already finished top four. Weird.
-
We'd have stunk that out too.

The rules changed last season.

Yeah, but Millwall played in it that time so it doesn't make any sense to me.
-
As Mr Woodhall said rule change from last season.
-
Seems strange that Millwall, a Championship club, got to play in though. They lost 4-0 as well. Odd.
-
Not really as the rule changed at the beginning of last season. Before that the FA Cup runners up did qualify if the winners had already qualified for Europe.
-
I can't tell whether you're all playing along or that my (let's use loose approximations here) 'joke' went awry. In light of the thread content, I remembered my original point as one that came up a lot in the run-up to the final, hence the (as I said, loose definitions here) 'joke'. Apologies if I'm missing something meta.
And apologies for the shitness of the original (etc etc) 'joke' regardless!
-

But Millwall are shit.

Sorry, we don't do humour.

Multiple parentheses syndrome. 3 strikes and you're out.
Go to the naughty corner and think about what you have done.
-
I'll lay my fists all over you ******.

DoubleD's updates on the escapades of Grandma Jean were great until he slung 'is ook.
Mazrim getting wound up too easily over his height...a pity if that's why he doesnt post anymore.
-
Mazrim was a great little poster.
Didn't he end up as a moderator on BiscuitLads? I've experienced comedowns like that. Never take ketamine with homeless Algerian rent boys.
-
I quite liked mazrim but he once declaimed that he was "200 pounds of Irish beef on the hoof", so maybe he contracted bovine spongiform encephalopathy.
-
The whole Mcleish saga did fascinate me. The thread when he took over, and the thread where he was fired. Not a big deal now in the scheme of things I guess.
-

Much better to take it with vodka.
-
The prospect of Steve McLaren becoming our manager.
The actuality of Alex McLeish becoming our manager.
Picking the kids in Moscow, and our subsequent plummet from Champions League contention.
-
Plus the dinner gesture for the fallen heroes of Moscow amongst our support, during which MON told them to shut the fuck up mithering about it.
-
Sunderland hijacking the N'Zogbia transfer. "Steve Bruce is playing this beautifully"
-
In hindsight... if only he had!
-
Did anyone mention the semi-continuous rumours of Villa signing Carlton Palmer in the early days?
And the non-saga of signing Benni McCarthy?
-
In hindsight... if only he had!
He did.

I am not sure if you are trying to resurrect Monty Python's "dead parrot" or the "5 minute argument " sketch so if you can clarify then we can get on with it!?
-
"The fuhrer had no choice but to invade the east, Germany needed living space, it was unfortunate that so many people died, but unavoidable"
- jackthevillain
-
Jackthevillain...I hope that wasn't Grealish. His haircut could deemed to be an, er, salute to der fuhrer.
-
Sunderland hijacking the N'Zogbia transfer. "Steve Bruce is playing this beautifully"
One of my favourites, wind them up and watch them go ape!
-
Whilst it didn't create a storm exactly, Eastie's famous post telling us where all the players were on holiday is one which go down in H&V history.
-

Mazrim getting wound up too easily over his height...a pity if that's why he doesnt post anymore.
Much more tragic I'm afraid. He broke the height adjuster on his computer chair and he can no longer reach the keyboard.

I made light of his 'compactness' once, you could tell it struck a nerve.
-
I think in these dark days the mods should pick a Golden thread and re-release it - locked so its for reading enjoyment only - just so we can have a bit of mirth. To be fair, its ages until we play again and there's only so much we can say about Lerner or Garde. Maybe pick out 3 threads and put a vote before releasing it for a week and then consigning it back to where old threads go.

I miss the little fella. What he lacked in height he made up for with photoshop.
-
Mazrim's band (Cudamantra) were, I thought, very good. Their bass player used to post here too.
-
The shaving thread. Please let that never happen again.
-
I can't remember that one.
-
The Shaving Game - Off Topic.
Dave Cooper called it the most disturbing thread ever.
-
I have no recollection of this at all, even though I posted on it (http://www.heroesandvillains.info/forumv3/index.php?topic=51359.0)
-

It was. And still is.
I posted one message on it. To agree with Mr Cooper.
-
I'm after re-reading the conspiracy theory thread with gazza (no, not that one, the previous poster called gazza). Had to chuckle at how wound up I got by him.
-
In January 2009 I posted "we should not trust O'Neill with anymore money" . I got pelted by other posters including one called "TARJ" or something who got banned.

Did Randy click 'like' by any chance?
-
My memory fails me a but something like "The ginger one who sold me H&V was rude" in reference to Mac, that made me chuckle.
-
I used to enjoy 'Clarey Blue Christmas' and his/hers posts.
-
A particular favourite of mine was Bob's dating memoirs and the particular pickles he got himself into.
-
Don't think I imagined it but there was the time Ranting Rob's wife signed up to tell us he was having a spectacular midlife crisis and she had thrown him out.
-

Being abusive to people and carrying on when warned to stop.

Jessica Rabbit.
-
See above.
-
Success definitely is not one of them. For better or worse I suppose.
-
What happened to Danlanza?
-
Kidnapped by the CIA. Or by aliens.
-
Kidnapped by the CIA. Or by aliens.
Definitely aliens. They want to harvest his pubes.
-
I've just realised I registered over ten years ago, doesn't seem like that.
Strange thing, morbid though it is, I can only recollect one poster dying in all that time.
-
Kidnapped by the CIA. Or by aliens.

And then burn them with Fermanite to see if they'll collapse.

Didn't he run off and shack up with some floozy over in America?

"The fuhrer had no choice but to invade the east, Germany needed living space, it was unfortunate that so many people died, but unavoidable"
- jackthevillain
Probably the greatest thread on this version of the board (http://www.heroesandvillains.info/forumv3/index.php?topic=43999.0)
"I don't really agree with Hitler trying to exterminate all the Jews but let's face it - it made more economic sense than deporting them all to Madagascar".
Some of it is spectacular.
-
Keep reading through to page 58 where we finally forced spk to crack!
Why is everyone getting so upset,If you were man enough to have a good loving woman you wouldnt be getting so arsey. You bunch of fuckin puffters, queens and sausage jockeys
-
sausage jockeys! FFS, I've just emptied the contents of my coffee cup all over thescreen. Priceless.
-
sausage jockeys! FFS, I've just emptied the contents of my coffee cup all over thescreen. Priceless.
That's an old one. It was doing the rounds as I finished school in the mid 80's.
-
That thread is fantastic, I read it a year or so back and it's a perfect combination of hilarious, horrifying and bemusing.
-
"Puffters." What an idiot.
Everyone knows you spell it "poofters."
-
That's a hell of a read.
-
Its "eye uns"*1, you maapeh, you slaig, you maag!!!!!!!!!!
*1 Iron hoof = poof
-
Wow that was entertaining, quite a marathon thread as well.
-
Is there any value in exposing these bigoted morons further?
Percy could have written this after 5 pages or so, and it would have been just as true.
-
I'm on page 15. I keep telling myself that I don't need to see it all. I'll see it all.
-
Point of order. Somebody (Stu?)said on circa p17 that 'Japan has the most homogenised society in the western world.' I'm on p21 and I'm yet to see anyone point out that Japan isn't in the western world. You communist running dogs.
Unless he was being ironic, like you Guardianistas always are, you filthy collaborationist pigs.

One can only assume he refers to "Western" as part of the neo-liberal pan-national military/industrial complex that transcends geography physically and culturally - either that or he doesn't know where Japan is? ;-)
-
Point of order, if you leave the UK and head west (and south a bit) you'd get to Japan, eventually.
-
Ah so. The far west. *Bows*
-

Racist.

My grandparents were Japanese so please don't talk to m like you know what an absolute shower of bastards they were. Sorry, not Japanese. Irish. The bogtrotters. And I use that word for economic reasons.
-
Is it a puck in ear you'll be wanting?
-
let's nip all this blarney in the bud right now
