Title: New kits
Post by: Dave Cooper please on May 16, 2011, 05:31:08 PM
We had one of these threads last year for us to admire / take the piss out of other teams new kit designs, post them on here when you see them.

Anyway, this is Tamuff's, it's a bit of a throwback to our late 80's shirts, a period us Tamworth fans look back on with pride, it was the begining of our fightback from near oblivion to the top flight of non-league, and it's back to our traditional red/black home and white away kits, I therefore like them!

Ignoring Newcastle's, that's two great retro strips from Puma.  I'm sure that Motherwell's will be subsequently be ruined with the sponsor's name on the maroon band.

Another in a long series of awful Bolton shirts. Reebok aren't doing the town they started in much of a service, are they? I think you've got to go back to their 1995-7 kit for one that doesn't make a mes of a plain white shirt with navy trim, but judge for yourselves (http://historicalkits.co.uk/Bolton_Wanderers/Bolton_Wanderers.htm).

Interesting to see that we have gone the full sartorial circle in relation to shorts, which are no longer short again.

1884 to 1886 are my favourites from the collection.

The only good thing about that shithole is the A45 out of it.  There's always been an elephant in their badge - there's actually a building just off that shitty ring road that's built in the shape of an elephant (honestly).  I think it's something to do with what their women look like or something.

The elephant is a heraldic symbol representing strength.  It appears on the city of Coventry's coat of arms, as incidentally, it also does on Bolton's arms.  In fact, if you want to, you can do the Elephant Trail around Bolton town centre finding representations of all things proboscine.

Pep Guardiola was an amabassador  for Qatar's  World cup bid ( in which Spain voted for them)

Apparantly without the deal barcelona were in a bit of trouble as they are $700 mil in debt thier marketing director said without  this sponsership they would of had to sell players.

Mick Quinn?

Actually, shitting hell, this from Wikipedia:

Quote
When the 1992–93 season began, Quinn was no longer a first choice player in the team and on 20 November 1992 he was sold to Coventry City for £250,000 after an undisclosed bid from Aston Villa was rejected.

Was anyone else aware of this?

Didn't the fat bastard score a hat-trick against us on Boxing Day that season?  It might have been worth £250k if only to have got three points from that game.

Don't ever remember us being linked with him though.  We had Deano, Dalian, Yorke and Regis, go knows what we'd have wanted Quinn for.

I could put up with that. The sleeves are just about blue enough to fit my minimum requirement of 'claret shirt, blue sleeves'. Better than that other one. I haven't seen such a horrible check in a Villa shirt since Baros left.

Mr Woodhall, could you please clear up this matter?

I know we were after a short-term striker at the time - we were linked with John Aldridge. Micky Quinn though, ugggh. That's just plain dirty.

John Aldridge. Even Mick Harford was mentioned. But can't recall Quinn being linked. Not the fat one anyroad.

Anyone seen that West Brom have signed a deal with adidas?

I may be saying this because the missus is a Baggies fan, but I'm quite eager to see what they'll come up with, there...

...although I get a feeling it'll be a blue and white version of Stoke City's 11/12 kit.

Are you sure that's their third kit and not their turd kit?

Looks awful. Even worse than that away kit from two years or so back.
