Title: My European Cup 30th Anniversary Mock Up kits
Post by: marshall on April 22, 2011, 10:43:50 AM
I did these last night. Both kits have the words 30 Year Anniversary, Rotterdam 1982.

I have put acorns on as a sponsor to see how it would look

I was just looking thoughts on them

Good, but could do without the pinstripes.

Good, but could do without the pinstripes.

On which one. I think they do look weird but from what people have told me already, the pin stripes make it look more traditional.

Both, Marshall.
That's just me though, if most people like 'em, fair enough.
Wouldn't put me off buying one - If it was cotton.

Not a bad tradition to honour.

If Nike where going to do a kit to honour the win then they would need to have a similar material to the old one.

I do hope not.

An update of that season's home shirt would be pretty cool. Or as i say every season, a hooped collar ie 1992-93. It doesnt have to have a bootlace but i do like the hooped collar we had back then. And blue socks too.

The away 82 shirt is the best kit we've ever had.

I really like it, Marshall - especially the pinstripe and little "30th year anniversary" bit in the middle.

What program did you use to make these?

The home shirt shouldn't have pinstripes, but the away shirt should to match the '82 kit. Both should have the badge in the middle. Ideally, we would go back to the old badge for a season. I reckon Villa could make a killing with these shirts. IF THEY GET THEM OUT ON TIME!

I did this one a couple of days ago with Heineken as the sponsor, the badge in the middles and 30 year anniversary on  the kit.

I like that. I would, personally, get rid of the "30th Year Anniversary" writing too. It will be obvious to Villa fans we are celebrating our history anyway.

What I'd like is the kit for 2022 to be the 10th Anniversary of a League and Cup Double, and the 2023 to be 10th for the Champions League.

Me too.

I like both of these designs.

The only thing that worries me about this is the prospect that this is all part of a cost-cutting exercise at Villa Park.

How many other clubs have their reserve goalkeeper in charge of kit design?

I like the away one, keep the badge in the middle and loose the 30th year anniversary bit.
The home one is nice, just loose the pinstripes.
Good Work.

Really like them but would lose the pinstripes particularly on the home one. I still have the 1983 away one signed but in Childs size :(

Marshall, have you done a 3rd/black version?

Very nice. Remove the pin stripes from home and anniversary text from both...and jobs a good un.

Also like the other professional looking kit design someone else posted on here, and would be very happy with either...or may be both could be considered for future seasons.

Shame the designers or manufacturers dont have such passion for the club as some of the designers on here.

I like them both Marshall. Not keen on the 30th anniversary bit and i would prefer more claret and blue stripes on the collar and sleeves. Thats only meant as constructive critisism. Both shirts are great. Good work.

the white away kit from O'Neill's second season wasnt too different from the classic 82 european shirt - that one had blue pinstripes instead of claret however

Final three I am happy with based on what has been said on here and other forums.

One thing I know now it is hard to please everyone when making a kit.

The thinner trim on the end of the sleeves looks much better.

Very smart.

All three are Excellent. Really love thẹ home kit. I haven't bought an official club top for years, but would definitely buy thẹ home kit. You should send thẹ designs to thẹ club.

Like the home one, but the mock ups are very good.

How about a yellow one with blue trim?

Tried different lengths on all the kits to please everyone, it does show what job it is to design a kit everyone likes. I think all 3 have different features to them, from the badge, collar, cuffs to the pin stripes.

Superb. Go and suggest them to the General in his Section.

That would only be useful if I got a number of people wanting the kit, the club then might take it under consideration.

However I do think the pre designs have already been chosen with just the sponsorship needing to be confirmed.

Stellar stuff marshall. The General might push for one of the designs if the club set up a fans' poll.
