Villa are giving some lucky season ticket holders the chance to participate in four special events as a thank you for their loyal support.
As a show of appreciation for their dedication to the club, 100 season ticket holders will be invited to Villa's Bodymoor Heath training ground, where they will be given a guided tour before watching the players train and eating at the restaurant.
There will also be an opportunity to meet the players.
The club will also be inviting 20 season ticket holders to go pitchside before all of the remaining home games this season, beginning with next Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash with Blackburn Rovers.
If you're lucky enough to be selected you will stand near the tunnel as the players run out for their pre-match warm-up and then watch the warm-up from in front of the dugout.
All season ticket holders will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win and winners will be alerted by telephone.
The first of the training ground events will take place during February half-term.
The winners of the training ground and pitchside visits will also receive a goodie bag.
We would like to thank all season ticket holders for their dedication and support.
There is also an extra incentive for season ticket holders to bring supporters to games as part of our Recruit a Villan scheme.
For each supporter you bring to the Blackburn game on Saturday February 26, you will receive double tokens for your logbook.
So if you're yet to put a token into your logbook, booking a Blackburn ticket anywhere in the stadium for five friends will bag you a £10 voucher, meaning you will be well on the way towards a tour, hospitality and a framed, signed shirt.

A proper, and sensible, piece of marketing for a change. Congrats to all involved.
-
Yeah nice to get that. Mind you, I'm still waiting for my invite to the Holte pub ;)
-
Well done Villa!
-
So 200 out of more than 20,000 get thanked?
-
Better than 0 out of 20,000.
-
This standing around by the tunnel and then watching them warm up from by the dugout doesn't particularly appeal to me. It sounds cold.
-
Agreed.

Better not invite my Aunty Mary - she'll want to rub the players legs to warm them up. She still misses seeing Ginola in his shorts.

Sounds like the crap sort of prize I'll go and win. Last time I won anything it was six months supply of nappies - when my youngest was about 15.
I'll try not to sound too underwhelmed when Randy phones with the good news.

ooh the excitement, to best honest its a free piece of marketing shite.
How about stop reducing the prices of every game with bundle offers etc and ensure the season ticket price is competitive.
I know next season I am not renewing, rather stick the money in the bank and then take chance of villa continuing to bundle deals for every game because lets face it they done every game this season .

I think we have the ultimate 'damned if they do' here. And to be honest, of all the things other teams supporters would reckon we have to complain about, ticket prices are low on even that short list.

I shall renew my season ticket if the cost does not increase - simples

I see this season as almost a waste of money.

WOO HOO ;D
Phone call last night from Villas marketing Dept
Me and the two kids have been selected to attend a training session on Monday
I feel a sickie at work coming on!!
-
Des, you bastard. That means there is only 199 left, and my odds are getting worse! Seriously, well done, have a great time
-
There are some cynical people on here, everthing the club does is turned into a negative.
-
Enjoy, Des. Fair play to ya.
-
Nice one. Enjoy.

Why would i want to watch the players eating at the restaurant ?
I suspect that this part of the draw will be fixed in favour of those with family STs

Take camping equipment if Dunne is involved.

Yeah I found that strange. What happens once the match starts, do you just go back to your normal seat or are you invited into the directors box as a one off?

You keep your lion costume on and you go and shake hands with some kiddies.

I think it is a really good idea, but the chances of it being you are extremely slim lets be honest. I also like the 'recruit a Villian' idea. - They're all pretty easy to initiate thought and cost little.
I suggested this idea on General Krulak's thread...
The club clearly has a problem selling the most expensive seats in the ground, even for the local derby against Bordsley Green. Why not offer season ticket holders an 'upgrade'. For example, I sit in the wings of the Doug Ellis Upper, why not offer me an upgraded seat in the centre of the stand or the Upper Trinity along with my pals, the club would then have my seat (that would be sitting empty) available to re-sell for a lower price.
That way, being a season ticket holder you wouldn't mind the cheaper match tickets being sold quite so much.
Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that they would not be renewing as they would be prepared to take a chance on buying tickets on a match by match basis for the cheaper price. I think I would do the same, being a season ticket holder really isn't as financially beneficially as it used to be.

How about stop reducing the prices of every game with bundle offers etc and ensure the season ticket price is competitive.
How about getting your facts straight on the difference in value between a season ticket and the offers the club put out? If you don't want to renew then fine, but don't do it because you think you're better off with the offers - the simple fact that's been proven plenty of times and confirmed by the General is that if you want to go to every home game a season ticket is the cheapest way of doing it.

But I bet there's not much in it. Miss just one game and I reckon you'd lose the advantage price-wise of an ST.
Of course there are still other advantages of an ST such as having your own seat.
