Title: Blackpool away
Post by: bones. on January 20, 2011, 06:43:44 AM
I have two season tickets, mine and my daughters which we should be able to get two Blackpool tickets with on jan 24th (only two aways on them so far). We're taking one of my daughters friends with us and stopping for the weekend but at the moment i run the risk of being left outside the ground.Trying to get a ticket for the home end has proved impossible so far. If anyone who isnt going wouldnt mind helping me out with a ref number it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mine says that as well. Row EE. Is that the Holloway stand, then, with the blinkered view?

Friends of mine are long-standing season ticket holders at Bloomfield Park.  They've got me a ticket somewhere in the home section.

Any good ideas on getting into the home end anybody ?
You have to be a previous purchaser to buy them online from the Blackpool website.

Tricky, unless you know a Blackpool fan. Going to be a popular game this. Think they'll be Villa dotted all around the ground.

OS ticket site not even showing fixture on away tickets... must be sold out? Also, the away travel says this game is at DW Stadium, Wigan. Great information as per.

Really looking forward to this, it will be a new ground for me to tick off (as I'm sure will be the case for a lot of Villa fans), and it will be a bit of a novelty going to an away game in a seaside resort!

Anyone know much about travelling there by train as it appears that we arrive into Blackpool South Station and leave to return from Blackpool North station, (not sure why this is?) and are they both near the ground?

I think we are having to change at Preston on the way there, the South station is a short walk from the ground, the North station is nearer to the town centre and tower.

Gutted I've a ST with 2 away's this season they won't let me buy a ticket till Monday.

Then she tells me there is only 27 tickets left.

So if anyone can't go, or could lend me there reference, much appreciated.

I tried my luck when purchasing tickets for the Fulham game this season by using ST references that hadn’t been renewed from last season (at a time when only ST holders could get tickets) without any problem. I’m aware that the allocation for this game is smaller but it’s always worth trying before you’re supposed to.

Our tickets are restricted view as well. I've been before when Walsall played them years ago and the view was'nt great but it was standing at the time.

Really disappointed - this was one of my 'new ground must go' games. I'm a ST holder but for financial reasons only been able to get to 2 aways so far this season. Rang today but sold out.  Apparently tickets sold on a non-refundable basis too so highly unlikely to get any returns. Bugger

Off to stick pins in an effigy of David Cameron

The whole away end is slightly restricted view. This will easily be our best away atmosphere of the season.

As was posted on page one

Why?  I suspect it'll be a good atmosphere tomorrow night.

Anyway, come and introduce yourself at Blackpool, blackcountry Villa, or even tomorrow night at Wigan.

We're still going as well, still no joy in the home end, you need to be a 'previous purchaser' of tickets to qualify to buy any, though how you become a previous purchaser is beyond me as you need to be one to get a ticket for any game at Bloomfield rd. Might catch glimpses of the match if i sit on The Pepsi Max for two hours with a pair of binoculars. Anyone got a better plan?

Can't wait for this - driving up saturday morning, new ground with the Villa, 3 points, giving Gollum both barrels for his inbredness, staying in a 15 quid (with breakfast) grotthole, night on the piss, back home to Brum sunday evening.

Love it

Great day out. Last time i went Brian Little and Keith Leonard tore Blackpool apart. Before the game Villa fans were playing football on the beach. Skins v. shirts and about 2000 on each side but i cant remember the result of the beach game. Villa beat the Tangerines and on the coach home shortly after the game we saw John Burridge ( who was Blackpools goalie ) walking home with his wife/girlfriend.

A great day out and no one was sick !

Off topic slightly, but watching the Blackpool v Man Ure game the other evening there was a whole block of seats empty in the right side of that meccano stand where the Man U fans were. Was it empty because of their persistent standing at away games?

Just to say that any pub that can show Nordic Viasat - can show any Premier League game. They have 10 extra channels that they activate depending on how many games are on at same time. (Villastreams get his feed from there).
