Title: It's definitely our year !
Post by: Dr Butler on January 10, 2011, 09:57:39 AM
not sure if this has been posted anywhere else so apologies if it has.

From the BBC

Championship side Leeds United are the most northern team left in the FA Cup after Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Carlisle all crashed out in round three. The last time Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough were knocked out of the FA Cup on the same day was 54 years ago on 26 January, 1957.

Much more likely I'm afraid. Good practice against a Championship side on Saturday.

You're the sort of steadfast, unflappable, heroic sort that kids look up to aren't you?
They should build a statue of you looking defiantly to the horizon, challenging life to do it's worst! You'll never surrender, never say die.

Let's hope our name is on the cup this year after the season we are having a cup run is just what we need.

So the portents suggest we'll win the FA cup and be relegated?

I'll take that.

Last time I went to a Villa away game we won the league cup.

Not entirely helpful I grant you.

Looking for these FA Cup "omens" is as good a way of remaining positive as any.

We were on 21 points after 22 games in the 56/57 season (albeit 2 pts for a win). All we have to do is lose to Blues on Sunday and Bob's your uncle as far as the FA Cup goes.

I hope that's cheered you all up.  ;)

It'll cheer us all up if we beat Blues that's for sure.  FA cup omen or not.
