Touchy!
-
Johnson's a twat. Merson was far better than average when at his best.
-
Would probably agree with johnson, but anyone who writes in txt-speak automatically concedes the right to comment on anything.
-
If i was Merse i'd just link Johnson a picture of all my Premier League and FA Cup medals to Johnson and then see what he says.
-
Merse average at best? What does that make Glen Johnson?
-
I don't mind him responding, it's his right. He's just done it in a poor manner.
-
A toilet seat thief. Allegedly.
-
Seriously, Merson average? He would have made Glenn Johnson shit himself by about the 10th minute of a game, ponsy twat.
-
For me Merson has the right to say what he wants and so does Johnson
-

I agree.
-
He's wrong about Merson but perfectly entitled to the right to reply
-
He's not wrong, he's just delivered his retort with the class of an axe murderer.
Merse was a fantastic player (much better than Johnson), despite his flaws.
-
Far better for Johnson to prove people wrong by upping his game and winning some honours.
Thats a bit difficult for him though, it requires a large amount of effort. Easier to send ill-though out, ignorant, and immature messages.
Lazy and pathetic.
-

Very true indeed. But sometimes you need to engage your brain before you do so. Johnson obviously missed that bit out.
-
He's wrong about Merson but perfectly entitled to the right to reply
Agreed.
-
Merson criticises his footballing skills; Johnson retorts with comments about Merse's drug and alcohol demons - bit of an unfair fight wouldn't you say, and completely out of order. In any case, as far as I'm concerned Merse is an engaging character who lights up the Gillette Soccer Specials.
-
Talking of clowns, one of our own at the right side of our end tried to get on the pitch at Sheffield yesterday after Walker's goal but over estimated his agility to clear the advertising board. Hilarious.

Agreed totally out of order and very school boyish. I'm surprised Johnson didnt come out with the old chesnut "your mom"
-
Johnson comments have just about summed himself up , I'm sure there's a lot of people out there thinking like us , Johnson is lucky to be spoken about in.same topic as merse.
-
What a knobhead. Glen Johnson, you are a plank.
-
Not very nice to have a go in the way Johnson did about is private life Merson was a far better player than that twat Johnson will ever be plus merson is only stating the obvious.
-
Johnson comes over like some of the more excitable kids we get on here these days.
-
Glen Johnson has shit hair.
-
Glen Johnson has hair. Grrr.
Merse can be a twit with his comments (e.g. saying what a shame it was Peter Reid had just got a job as he'd be the ideal replacement for O'Neill - down Risso!), but responding with his alcohol, drug and gambling addictions is wrong.
-
Move on nothing to see here folks. Pundits are always making comments after the event and are mostly idiotic. Johnsons response has shown him up as a prat. Typical PL overpid under performing ootballer!
-

Was that the bloke who was dragged across the pitch on his knees by stewards? Very funny.
-
That happened right on front of us. I mean how difficult is it to hurdle a 2 foot high advertising hoarding! Then again the last time we went there there was that classic moment when the ball boy didn't manage it either.
-
i dont mean anything by this but what johnson's done here is 100% wrong. no better than calling a coloured person a nigga in my eyes. cheap shot by a wonna be playboy showing off on twitter
what johnson has done is take the cheap childish option of picking a very obvious sore/weak spot in pauls past.
much in the same way a school kid will call a slightly thick kid a spastic simply just to inflict mental anguish. i hope merson sues him for slander/ deformation of character.
that is in merses past
-
Was the prick even on the bench for them today ?
-
his "wife went into labour"
-
Bright lads these Liverpool players
1719: Can't help but think that Liverpool's Ryan Babel might be in a bit of trouble - he's tweeted a link of a picture of referee Howard Webb wearing a Man United shirt, as well as his earlier comment, below. "Twitticide", says one of my colleagues. I'd have to agree.

Oh dear. I do despair. Johnson's reaction is just childish and ill-mannered. It does differ in a crucial way from either racist or disability abuse in that Merson chose to drink take drugs and gamble, which does indeed make him a legitimate target for criticism especially when he is suggesting another professional is not behaving in a professional manner as the FACT that Merson's own career was littered with examples of his drink/drug/gambling excess having a deleterious effect on his performance makes it fair comment.
That said, for all his whiny self pity and false apologies it would be Merson at the top of his powers I'd rather have at VP than Johnson....
-
his "wife went into labour"
Is this a euphemism then?
8-O
-
He's wrong about Merson but perfectly entitled to the right to reply
Agreed.
Is it right to get so personal about Merson's offield problems though? They have nothing to do with Glen Johnson.
-
I can't stand Glen Johnson. He's like Ashley Cole but without the talent. Not surprised at all with his comments.
-
I'm not suprised by Johnson's comments, once again a modern day footballer covers himself in glory.
-
Johnson was out of order. Merse was expressing an opinion about Johnson on the field of play. Johnson was attacking Mese's well documented problems off the field of play. Cheap shot.
As for average? He's having a laugh. I can think of many words to describe Merse but that wouldnt be one of them. I'm thinking, clever. talented, abiity to do the unexpected, etc .
