With immediate effect according to the beeb.
-
To take over at Real, no doubt.
-
Come on Martin, get yer application in.
-
Fallen out with their new owners already?
-
The pompous twat was doing a decent job there too. I'm guessing with Benitez under pressure at Inter he's been tipped off that they're about to make a change.
-
Didn't last long after the new people took over did it.
-
Horrible style, horrible bloke, but doing a decent job there, bit surprised at this
-
The anti-football. His teams are hideous to watch, and of late he seems to actually be getting worse in that respect. They seem to focus on assaulting the goalkeeper nowadays.
-
Might put a few bob on him becoming the next Sheffield United manager now it looks like Speed will be taking over the Wales job. I've always associated Sheff Utd with shit boring football so this would be an ideal fit for Fat Sam. As big as it will ever get for him too!
-

Isn't that a cut & paste from your comments about our former manager?
It will be interesting to see who they bring in now.
-
Benitez leaves Inter - Capello leaves England to take over - England get to play a style of football to make us all dream of a bright future courtesy of Allardyce
-
Wonder who they will go for. First Indian manager.......
No more Chicken Nuggets for Big Sam.
-
West Ham's next manager? (assuming Inter don't move quickly enough, obviously...)
-
Rumours that the new owners wanted to choose which signings were made, so I don't blame him for walking if that's the case.
Purveyor of shit football though and he's STILL always being connected with the England job.
-

He's a very good Manager In my opinion, Dudley born as well - Wolves maybe ??
-
More panic/kneejerk reaction from owners of football clubs. The game is mad.
Who do Blackburn think they can attract?
-
I don't think he was doing a bad job at all, but obviously the new owners have an agenda.
Sven? :)
-
As much as I hate his football, he was creating a new Bolton at Blackburn. Not pleasing to watch, but a bastard to play against especially up there. Blackburn wouldn't have gone down with him in charge, and he had them playing a style that was effective and hated by all others. I'm sure Wenger popped open a bottle of bubbly on hearing the news.
-
think houiller might try to sign steven nzozia
-
As someone else has already said, Allardyce to West Ham now i reckon.
-
Obviously his views on the future of the club are differant to the new owners !
-
Can't stand the bloke but he does a good job when given the chance.
Capello said yes to replacing Benitez then.
Can't see why he'd want to move downwards to West Ham, though.
-

He didn't walk he was sacked. If I was the owner and we were top of the league I'd still sack the fat ******.
-
Fat Sam is very underrated, IMO.

apparently he's been fired, so I don't think this was his choice. I would imagine though there will be a number of clubs that will consider him, because despite how we view his football, he does manage to create competitive/combative teams when given the time.
-

Blimey - the Wet Spammers will love his 'brand' of football!

Snigger.
What ever happened to breaking the 3 year cycle, Chris?
-
Blackburn are 13th in the table at the moment, wouldn't be surprised if they go on a bad run now like the Toon did when they sacked big Sam.
I'm always amazed at how some clubs think they should always be doing better than they are. Curbishley at Charlton was moaned at for constantly getting Charlton to always finish around 10th, look where they are now. MON got Villa 6th three years on the trot, for many people that wasn't good enough.
Owners and fans need more patience insead of the 'I wan't it now' attitude.
-
A fowl decision.
-
I won't believe it until TheBig_Sam tweets it himself.
-

Answer me this.
Did the fans get Mon sacked, did Randy sack him, or did Mon walk away ?
Perhaps some managers, especially those who have repeatedly left clubs in the lurch, for their own reasons, showed more patience to stay and see a job through.
-
never rated allardyce...
any random bloke can pack the team with big players and kick it from back to front...
one thing you have to credit allardyce for, is he is a great self publicist... no one talks up allardyce, like allardyce does...
credit where its due...
-
I wonder what his son will do for a living now.
-
Shouldn't the thread title be "Allardyce Sacked"
-
Bit of a shame really. They were gonna give 5m to spend in January. Wow .......
-

Stephen Ireland ?
-
Don't like the man, but does a good job with a certain type of club. Can't see anyone else doing a better job there. Strange decision.

I didn't say anything about the fans getting MON sacked, yes i know he walked out on us, i was stating a fact that for some fans, 6th and the style of football under him wasn't good enough.
-
Cant believe Allardyce was being linked with the England job - how desperate
-
I don't like him personally but he does the job!! A bit like Bassett, Mike that is not Dave ;)
-
The anti-football. His teams are hideous to watch, and of late he seems to actually be getting worse in that respect.

Fat Sam makes Brand O'Neill look like Pep Guardiola by comparison.

Big Sam has been swept aside like a turd on a wedding aisle. Treacherous bastards.

There's some quality delusion going on on here:

Done a decent job. However his football is hideous and I couldn't handle my club playing it.

I need time to reflect on this betrayal. And I'll do this with a fuckload of Tia Maria and Eskimo Tube.

He may fit in there. Even in their glory days they were hardly known for their beautiful football.
-

Quite. In fact, I can't think of anything that would make me want to stop going to watch Villa more than Allardyce being appointed.
Maybe having my season ticket relocated to sit between Chris and Villadawg (*) but nothing else.
* winks all round.

agreed, big sam would be the end for me to
-
Suprised at this, Haters gonna hate but I do maintain some decorum of respect for Big Sam, as he has the ability to turn relegation candidates into table climbers, with his controversial "If you don't lose you win" mentality.
-

The only person ever talking about Fat Sam for England was the fucker himself. Can't stand the sight of the self opinionated knob. Would love him to go to West Ham, Gold, Sullivan & Fat Sam a perfect match.
Still surprised it has happened though.
-
Benitez leaves Inter - Capello leaves England to take over - England get to play a style of football to make us all dream of a bright future courtesy of Allardyce
and Mike Bassett England Manager becomes reality!
-

Clearly these Indians are behaving like cowboys!
-
A fowl decision.
Especially with the poultry amounts he's had to spend.

Surely Blackburns only nugget of hope is that there will be some money to spend
-
God Riddance, Hope he doesn't darken the Premiership door ever again, Future England Manager my arse....
-
ooooo blackburn can have houllier, LOL
-
They are above us!
-
Good riddance to the man. He plays the worst football I've ever seen in the top division and his hideous teams make Wimbledon of old look like Barcelona.
He's destined for the Sty one day, trust me.
-
TheBig_Sam
Just had a box delivered to the house. It contains a claret and blue-coloured dildo with the words "Fancy a new challenge?" on it. Hmmm.
-
KAren Brady was quick there wasn't she!?
He is a good manager, and I have seen his teams a few times over each season for the last 10, and think they play no worse football than Villa under O'Neill for much of the time, and he has got the likes of Okacha, Dunn, Djorkaeff, Pederson etc all to look like bloody good players from midfield in this supposedly latter day Wimbledon approach. Decent manager.
Always seems a right cock though.
-
I think he's alright. He's his own worst enemy at times and does nothing to dispel the 'brand' that the media have created around him. But as others have pointed out, once he got Bolton established using crash bang wallop, he moved them onto a much better style, and certainly no worse than what we've had to put up with since Gregory went mad. Unlikely as he is to wash up at Villa, as a local bloke he'd have some understanding of the club's status.
-
I wouldn't like his brand of football at Villa Park no wonder he was sacked the Venky's want entertaining football to be played.
-
That rules out MON then.
-
That rules out MON then.
They haven't got loads of cash spare, that certainly rules O'Neill out as he expects buckets of it.
Apparently they were horrified at Sam's suggestion of bringing Bentley and Roque back as they would cost a fair few million, they're looking to run it all on a tight budget and choose new players themselves.
-

As one of India's richest families, I'd imagine they have a bob or two, they just don't want to spend it.
The other name Big Sam was looking to sign in January was our very own John Carew.
-
Can't stand Allardyce, a horrible man who makes his teams play horrible football. This means I might not dislike Blackburn as much now he isn't their manager.
It also leaves Wenger as only real candidate for biggest bullshitter in the League now.
-

Fat Sam makes Brand O'Neill look like Pep Guardiola by comparison.
Personally I think there's very little in it.
-
The Indians stated they want a better brand of football- leaves mon with no chance considering the dreadful style he has teams playing everywhere he goes- was chatting to a Celtic fan in holiday who said although the results were great and they won trophies under him it was also some of the worst football ever seen- a far cry from their past title winning teams.
Jol would be a huge coup for rovers but I feel he will reunite with chris hughton at west ham- if I put a bet on it I'd be very tempted to back alan shearer to get the Blackburn job.
-

It's a good job they managed to beat off international competition and lure Mowbray up to Parkhead, where his free-flowing football cemented his place in Celtic folklore.
-
I wouldn't step foot inside VP the whole time Allaradyce was in charge if we appointed him. He's a cock and his style of play makes us under O'Neill look like Barcelona.
-
Maybe Martin Jol will go to Blackburn, although I heard he has property in London so won't fancy a move oop north!
-
From The Fiver, triffic.
Big Sam needs to be careful if if those rumours of him heading to West Ham are true. He'll only be heading from one pair of oddly dressed owners who've made a fortune from choking chickens to another" - Martin Jackson.
-
I predict Those Blackburn owners will be next (Two Davids) Sullivan and Gold. They want Diego Maradona as new manager. LOL.
-
Maradona would be ace. He'd be entertaining and I could ask him to sign my retro Argentina shirt.
-
That's the trouble with Blackburn at the moment. Too many Indians and no chief
-
Maradona would be ace. He'd be entertaining and I could ask him to sign my retro Argentina shirt.
Maradona would be like an international Ian Holloway, his press conferences sure would be interesting!
Where do you get a chance to wear your Argentina shirt, do you get much stick when you wear it?
-

Where have the great quotable Managers of yesteryear gone?
Jimmy Frizzell
'Last time we took the Cup out of London Dick Turpin robbed the coach'
Ian Holloway
"My ceiling's broken, my car's got a puncture and we've just lost two matches. But I've got my health and I'll ask the big man upstairs why he didn't give us a point."
Bobby Robson
"We didn't underestimate them. They were a lot better than we thought"
-
Silly question to ask in this day and age.
Managers hardly have tome to make an opening statement before they are clearing their desk and subjected to a NDA before disappearing down the road. Pithy statements were froma time when managers bar Brian Clough I suppose felt secure in a reasonably extended period of employment.
I wonder if WmHill offer odds on Cloughie term of office at Leeds being beaten..what was it, 44 days?
Gerard must have come close.
I can see someone getting their walking papers for parking in the wrong space on the first day before long..
-
What have Big Sam and Ashley Peacock got in common?
Neither of them will be at the Rovers Christmas party this year! Boom Boom! ;D
-
Apparently the new owners want Blackburn to be a top 5 club. Clearly the Indian poultry business is a haven of fantasists, as well as chicken-stranglers
-
Maybe then the catholic church is right about the deleterious effects of choking your chicken.
-
Villa's record against Newcastle and Blackburn this season is P2 W0 D0 L2 F0 A8 Pts0. Both teams are above Villa in the league, yet both have sacked their managers. Houllier needs a superb January on the pitch, in the transfer market and on the training ground...

Or maybe Villa have owners who know how to run a football club.
