Title: 9.09% Villa: Pingu's Team of The Week

Seems it's not just us who have noticed the young man quietly going about his business in midfield. Albrighton, Hesk and Ash also make his squad.

I noticed someone said yesterday that if it wasn't for our injuries he'd probably be signing for Walsall or someone of that ilk. Now he's doing well and starting most games having signed a new deal. It's a funny old game.

I mentioned elsewhere that I reckon Hoggy would have gone totally unnoticed before dropping down the divisions if it hadn't been for our injury crisis.
He's been chucked right into the deep end and has consequently had to play out of his skin, a star is born!
I wonder how many players have slipped through the fickle fingers of Premier League clubs because they never had a chance to prove themselves?

I must admit, of the kids coming through Hogg was one of the ones I was least confident of.
Always a steady performer in reserves/academy and his most noticeable trait was long range howitzers a la Hitzlsperger.

I'm glad to see him doing well but I'm still guarded on his potential. At least for now.
Also, I dont see him playing much when Delph returns and Gardner breaks through as well as other senior players recovering and being acquired. But who knows how things will turn out. Good for Boss Hogg.

Oh yes, Pingu is still as mad as a box of wasps.

I'm slowly getting more and more impressed with Hogg, he's been very solid and his touch and passing was very good v WBA.

That was MON's modus operandi - so any who were unfortunate enough to be on his clubs?

Even if he doesn't make it, these games he has played has increased his value from probably a free transfer to the £250-500k mark.

Every little helps.

It's been happening since the year dot. Otherwise Platt would have been a Man Utd star.

Whilst I'm not denigrating Hogg I don't want to join into the sudden "look how good he is getting now" as some. We had similar with Clark who then had probably the worst game of his life against Liverpool and who had as much hand in the two goals as the defense. (Outmuscled for the first header, gave the ball away for the second goal)

Its very rare the kids go for a free at that stage unless no one shows any interest at all.
