Two shocking decisions by MON! Fantastic footballers let go!
-
Both of these players wanted to go, Davis is no loss and Cahill at the time could not see past Mellberg and Laursen
-
Clinton Morrison signed in exchange for Andy Johnson and 4 million quid.
-
Oh no...
-
Samuel Eto'o and €40mill for Ibrahimovic

With Steve Davis, Hodgson also "let go". He is doing it in Scotland but Alan Thompson was a massive player up there as well.
-
Glen Johnson £17million from Portsmouth to Liverpool

lolz, pwned, etc
-
Cahill was definitely a disastrous sale, but Davis was as average as they come. No loss there.
-
Cahill yes, Davies no
-
Cahill wouldn't get in the team now, but would have saved us millions if he had stayed!
-
Cahill may be but not thr best defender amongst our current CB's. Davies ...wish him best of luck but not good enough.
-
Davis was no great loss.

Cahill wanted to go - because he wasn't getting a look in.
The fact that the didn't get a look in, and MON went and spent 30 million pounds on centre backs, 9m worth of which is currently pubbing around in the championship at Leicester, says a lot about his judgement of Cahill.
-
Cahill -mistake, Davis had his hair done and bought the white boots
-
It was a big mistake getting rid of Cahill not Davis.
-
Neither had the bottle to stay and fight for their place so fuck 'em.
-
To be fair Bolton have been good for Cahill, right club at the right time. Would he have developed at the same rate by staying? Doubt it.
-
Steven Davis may do okay at Rangers in their tinpot league, but he was well below par at Fulham.
No loss at all.
Selling Cahill was a mistake.
-
Cahill is a good example of how/where we need to use loans more for our youngsters.
I feel that Brad Jnr and Delf could do with a long stint abroad. It would allow them to develop their game without risk to villa's form.
In addition they will not get bored and demand to leave a la Cahill.

There was a fairly intelligent Bolton fan who called 5 Live the other week who said that despite popular opinion it was Zat Knight who's been their star defender under Coyle.
I'm with Chris on this, it's easy to knock O'Neill but Cahill didn't want to wait for his chance and was sold. If he'd have hung on six months he'd have been playing anyway. Shit happens, you move on.
And I also think big Zat was better than he 's given credit for.

I liked Cahill and don't think we should've sold him at the time. I think Clark is a better prospect though.
Davis didn't last long at Fulham did he?
