When I bring my grandsons to the ManU and Arsenal games, I shall need to know where to get the best fast grub, either in the Lower Holte or in the Villa Park locality. This knowledge will still further the street-cred of a City grandad in the eyes of his Cotswold-bred descendants who are already most impressed by his ability to get tickets for such prestigious fixtures.
Any advice will be gratefully received.

Terry Payne has a good hot dog/burger stall by the side of the Holte pub, I have been going there for years, never had any complaints about food or service.

Is he the fat Cov fan ?? ;-)

I allways use the villa chippy near witton train station.
-
There's one that sells a burger called the Motherf****r. It has three burgers inside it.
It's near Whitton Lane but I can't remember exactly where. The only time I had one was when we played Blacburn at home. Baros's debut. Won 1-0.

I think it's called that because after you eat it, you die, causing a whirlwind of grief for your Mother.

Yes. I always buy from him. He's a Baggies fan, by the way.

I might have to have a rethink ;)

Terrific advice. I knew that I could count on you. I shall carry out some market research based on this data and if I survive I'll be able to let my grandsons eat the time of their life (once they've vowed never to tell their mother).

They used to do the DaddyF****r as well with four inside but think they have stopped this.

Villa chippy is always a good un, they do deals aswell. Think sausage fish and chips with curry sauce is 3.50, but dont quote me on that!
-
The chips from there are the worst I've ever had in my life.
-
The Villa chippy used to be good, then it was awful. Has it gone back to being decent again?
-
The Villa Chippy was closed for most of the 08-09 season. I assumed it was Health related.

The death thing doesn't bother me. But the Albion thing has put me off it must be said.

Thats where we go too - 'never trust a skinny cook' - always buy your burgers from a fat fella.
I think he used to be on the opening credits of ITVs FA cup coverage in his Cov shirt.

A fat man always knows how a good burger should taste. He's the best by far.
I've seen long queues for him when other stands nearby have been empty.
-
Has anyone tried the line of kebab shops along Witton Road?
-
I cant be arsed to find the right thread but I noticed that we have borrowed Fulhams idea of having beer sellers with the beer in their backpacks in the LH, it seemed to make quite a difference to the queues but £3.50 a pint was steep.

Yeah theres one on the nearest corner to the Villa Chippy thats got good kebabs, and brilliant pizza's! Quite cheap too. I'd recommend

That's a fab idea, needed in the Trinity too..........cold bottles of Fosters would be OK.

They were in Lower Trinity yesterday.

I had a organic steak burger from the new healthy eating stand in the Lower Holte yesterday. Was very good and cooked fresh rather than the other burgers on the kiosks.
Bit more expensive but much more tasty.
-
I had a burger from the burger fan under the express way yesterday. Today my arse smells rancid. Won't eat there again.
-
I had sausage and batter and chips in a chip shop 100m away from Tesco and it is not bad either. I think Villa fish bar is closed now as it had not been open in last two games. (before last game as I didn't went that way)
Chappy's Pizza near Witton station is good and you can buy meal for 3 quids (Mini pizza, drink and french fries)
-
Someone like Dennis Mortimer should have opened a chippy near the ground - "Mortimers Chippy" would do very well, like "Lou Macari Chip Shop" in Manchester.

When I first started going he only had a small van, he's upgraded a couple of times since. Obviously doing well for himself.

Another vote for Big Terrys by the holte pub - been going there for years and never had a bad one and my kids love em !
-
Whatever happened to 'JUMBO JUMBO?'
-
Looks like Big Terry is the man.

Thats Big Terry. He just dosent shout it out much these days.

I think the bestest chips are the ones Villa sell in all honesty.
They're just hard to eat in that awful tray and so overpriced.
Big Terry da man.
