Title: Tony Pulis double standards
Post by: rutski on September 27, 2010, 10:07:28 AM
just been watching pulis on ssn and he is going on about professional footballers cheating their fellow pros by diving and feigning injury after the newcastle game yesterday!
He says there should be proper punishment given out and a review system to stop this happening!
Well i say when i see you frogmarch that thug twat pennant down to the FA and you demand he should be the first punished for his cheating on the pitch against us then maybe the football world will listen to you!

Good point, but then we have to fall back on that old cliche about things levelling themselves out over the season. We had the rough end at Stoke with Pennant, but then yesterday Warnock should have been sent off and he ended up being an integral part of our own winner.

I actually think the ref was correct in not sending him off. It's not like Warnock was putting in challenges left right and centre throughout I'm sure they were the only two and he was going for the ball in both

Warnock lost control of the ball and was a fraction of a second late to the ball, and at full pelt, the ref may have thought he got a touch.

It would have been harsh.

I think both were bookable offences, without being all that nasty.  So the ref was reluctant to send him off and gave him a chance.  Had he already not been on a yellow he would have got booked ofr that 2nd one - of that I'm 100% sure.  Normally we'd be applauding the refs sensible approach, except for the fact Warnock then had a major impact on the result.

I was expecting Lichaj to replace Warnock in the 2nd half, and saw him being prepared but the change didnt happen. Warnock has been picking up cheap bookings in the last few games and was lucky to get away with it yesterday. Its only a matter of time before he starts seeing red.

The first one was a booking, no question. The second, I thought he got a slight touch on the ball as he followed through, so even though I think he got the ball, he took the man with it. Ordinarily it would have been a second booking so I don't think we could have had any complaints.

...and yes, Pullis is very hypocritical in that SSN interview.

Pullis will be complaining about long ball tactics next.

Not to mention Robert Huth's linebacker style blocking at corners and free kicks.

I think stoke use over physical tactics most of the times so he should stop moaning.

Whenever I see or hear Pulis, I get a horrible mental image of him mincing around naked and wrestling James Beatie in the shower.

As though Pennant wasn't bad enough - that git Walters is the one that gets me - he carrys out the most petulant of fouls, he fouled Petrov off the ball at a corner - Pulis never mentions these things though - Stoke is a tough place for any team to go, but they really are pushing the realms of gentlemanly conduct with that knob!!

lol, I could not believe what I was hearing from Tony Pubeless... how hypocritical or what considering it was only 2 weeks ago that thug Pennant dived to get them a free-kick in the last minute which they eventually scored from. Not only are Stoke a dirty team, they're cheats despite how much Pubeless moans about players diving.

He's generally one of the good guys but he's had a 'mare there.

Get your own house in order first before moaning about declining standards.
You've also been in the top division long enough now play a more progressive game than Wimbledon mk II.

I quite like Tony Pulis. He is far from the most hypocritical manager out there.

Another example is Mick McCarthy moaning about Warnock's challenges. If it was that thug Henry it would be a different story.

Though compared to Wenger...
