A tour of Stephen Irelands house. (http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog/dirty-tackle/post/A-photographic-tour-of-Stephen-Ireland-s-ridicul?urn=sow-270226#remaining-content)
;D
-
The baldy bastards pink bedroom actually hurt my eyes.
He's such a prick, but then again, most footbllers are.
-
But sucha loaded prick. Its all women want in a man.
-
Surely that's not the "master" bedroom?
Looks a bit small considering the size of the house.
-
Jealous bastards :D
-
Jealous bastards :D
He might be loaded, but he has the interior decorating taste of Zsa Zsa Gabor.
Every room is headache inducing.
-
Pretty much exactly what I was expecting. Vulgar modern footballer with too much cash and no taste - no real surprise, is it? Don't hold your breath for a Mastermind appearance from his missus either.
-
He's that thick, he has to have his name printed on his pool table for the frequent times he forget's who he is.
Is his Gran still dead?
-
Oi you lot, you're talking about one of our best players......
I have to say in his 'defence' - at 23, and earning c. £60k per week, that's £3 million per annum, about 120 times the national average - what more can you expect ?
Maybe when he's 30, he'll be buying antiques and de-blinging.
Until then, let him enjoy his wealth I say.
-
I always appreciate a smug, superior tone when looking down the nose at someone with a different taste to myself. It makes me feel better than the person I'm having a go at.
-
Mrs Ireland was on Come Dine With Me a few months ago. She seemed quite nice actually. Emile's missus was on the same programme. Now she IS thick.
-
and who says football players are overpiad!
just look at the squaller he has to live in!
-

Me too, especially when I'm trying to convince myself I don't need money to make me happy......................
-
Just a thought, does anyone really expect Ireland to be the arbiter in terms of interior decorating there - you know it s his unbelievably fit mrs with her hands on copious amounts of money making incredibly poor decisions like that. I know anything that happens in terms of decorating my house is purely down to my wife.
-
I like this bit at the end...
Meanwhile, James Milner just bought a futon and a large spool/coffee table with his Man City money.
-
When I read what you lot were calling him "Prick" etc.... I thought somebody had bumped a thread from last season, whilst he was still at Man city.
Yet it was today and he's our player that has done nothing but say how happy he is to be a Villa player rather than a Citeh one.
Disgraceful.
-
To be honest, it's not really that bad, is it? Assuming the pink room is his daughter's.
Not my taste - with that kind of money I'd get myself something at least a few centuries old. and preferably surrounded by rolling countryside, but then again, if I think back to what i was like at 23 (in terms of immaturity) and what I'd have done with that kind of money, I'd probably have expired by now. In a gold plated 12 storey apartment.
-
The pink room is his daughters

Agreed.
-
I'd build a fake Roman Villa, and fill it with lady servants dressed as mymphets. And everyone would have to get changed into togas before entering the house.
-
One of the comments below the article
His wife has some nice tits
I loved that.
-
Again proof is proof where needed that money and taste are not always found togather

I'll be happy to support him on the pitch in our colours, however, he was a prick at man City and he still is a prick.
-
Disappointing really, I was expecting something a lot more hideous.
-
I'll be happy to support him on the pitch in our colours, however, he was a prick at man City and he still is a prick.
Why? Do you know him personally?
-
I don't know Jim Davidson personally, but I know he's a prick.
-
Arf!
-
Yet it was today and he's our player that has done nothing but say how happy he is to be a Villa player rather than a Citeh one.
How unusual for a player to say that when he joins a new club.
-
Mark, although he clearly hasnt been the brightest button in the past, he's ours now and has done nothing to warrant this from his own supporters in his time here.
Maybe O'Leary was referring to you as the fickle fan ?

I saw that and commented at the time at the lack of taste in the Ireland house.
It really is tacky.
The main bedroom IS full of crushed velvet furniture/furnishings. *shudder*

Hey don't knock zsa zsa!!
-
Bouma had some Dutch house removers emptying his house this week so his neighbour told me last night. His nearly new settee and arm chairs were thrown in the skip. When I say thrown, I mean carefully placed shrouded in Bubble Wrap by a very careful labourer.
-
I don't know Jim Davidson personally, but I know he's a prick.
Because he's a sexist, racist prick?
Ireland's crime seems to be a stance taste in most things and lying when his girlfriend had a miscarriage. What a prick!

Let's hope the reason he's a Villa player ( i.e. he can play a bit) redeems him then.
-
All these footballers houses are the same. I remember seeing Jlloyd's on that MTV cribs programme he had a shelf just filled with bottles of aftershave he said to the camera "I don't use most of them I just like the bottles".
-

That was a supremely cringemaking episode.

Can I point out that he could be a massive prick.
-
His missus can come round to my place and deck it out with as much velvet, furry chairs and pink crap as she likes.

I think we get your point matey.
He could be a great player at Villa.
-
I don't know if he's a prick or not, to be honest.
His house is a bit tasteless, and his cars are awful, but so long as he does the business on the pitch, I honestly don't care what he does with his money.
-

Ditto.
I can't wait to see him play a whole game in the shirt.
If he goes home to a pretty tasteless pad afterwards, really, who cares ? - I don't.
-
I don't think it's that bad personally, and my 4 year old daugher would LOVE that pink bedroom.
-
I was expecting worse.
How would some of you like it if Stephen Ireland was criticising your house and it's decor? I sincerely doubt many people on here live in the kind of minimalist Bauhaus mansions that would get Kevin McCloud creaming his pants. I know I don't! It's a matter of taste.
-
I don't think it's that bad personally, and my 4 year old daugher would LOVE that pink bedroom.
Exactly ,people are acting as if the pink room is where he sleeps !
-
I don't care a rat's ass what he chooses to spend his money on, it is the fact that he appears to want to advertise it that is the problem.
The obscene conspicuous consumption of some Premiership footballers will end in tears, I reckon.
-
Is this the same fellow who faked his grandmother's death certificate in order to get a few days sick leave?
-

It's Stephen Ireland. You know the one, bald fella who joined us from Man City. I'm not aware that forging official documents is something he's ever been accused of.
-
Who cares what he's done or what his house is like, let's just get him on the pitch and get winning games.
-
Ach, I don't care what anyone says. I like Stephen Ireland. And yes, his girlfriend/wife was lovely on Come Dine With Me. So there.
-
I was expecting worse.

I bet you've got a knackered fridge in your front garden, along with a caravan with green algae growing up the side.
-
I give him a lot of credit. If I had that much money in my early 20's I would do something stupid, like piss it away on pink range rov-
oh, wait...
-
I don't care what the lad does with his money, can walk around with leopard skin teeth as far as I'm concerned. As long as he produces the goods for us on the pitch is the important thing. If he settles into life at Villa he's going to one hell of player for us. Calling him a prick based on his taste for understated fine furnishings doesn't help.
-

All true, but why do we know about his fucking furnishings in the first place? Why can't he keep him them to himself? Can you imagine <name of footballer with a clue> inviting a camera crew into his crib?
-
When did he marry Paris Hilton? Can't believe I didn't catch the news!
;D
-
Can I point out that he could be a massive prick.

He could be a great player at Villa.

What point?

The point that you keep making, that you think Ireland is a massive prick and can be a massive prick at Villa.
It's almost like you want him to be.
Amazing.
-
If he plays well for us he can be as big as prick as he likes.
Hell, he could decorate my house like his and I wouldn't care.
-
Nice fish tank even if it is 100k i agree nice tits.
-
Atleast he's not sleeping with prostitutes or getting into fights.
Does it really matter? He's a bit chavvy. He's stopped one short of having a tribal tattoo so he's fine by me.
-

Schoolboy error there.
If Fletch thought he was a prick at Man Citeh and still thinks he's a prick at Villa (but will give him his full backing whilst he wears the shirt) that shows a level of consistency. He's not deviating from his original viewpoint.
Now then: Someone who thought he was a prick at Man Citeh but now believes he's untouchable might be viewed as changeable. Or even fi...
So maybe DOL was referring to you?

Correct Kevin.
Everybody on here was calling him all sorts of names when somebody (Risso?) posted a picture of his pink Range Rover, whilst at Man City.
-
Is his Gran still dead?
No, but his girlfriend has still had the miscarriage
EDIT: apologies, didn't see someone else had pointed out this fact already.

it's like something from the wizard of oz.
-
The guy is a successful player in the toughest league in the world and he gets paid well for it. He can do what he likes with his money and if enjoys spending it on a house like this good luck to him, but I don't know why that qualifies him as a prick. He obviously has a good sense of humour and is an extrovert so we can't expect him to buy a semi-detached in Yardley, next door to Craig Gardner and his parents.
The world would be a much duller place without people like Ireland and it's those extrovert traits that make him such an exciting prospect for us.
-

Some of the most gifted players ever are extroverts. Cantona, Gazza etc. I watched video`s of him on you tube and looks one hell of a player ........
-
Its nice to see what £60k per week buys you these days.
And the house looks pretty expensive too.
-

Absoluletely, it seems some would want him buying an ex council house in Nechells to be close to the ground and walk to VP on a Friday night to get the coach so he could go and 'live it up' in a hotel for the night with the lads over a Mackeson.
-
Having bad taste in furniture and decoration does not make you a 'prick'. Some of the posts on this thread seem a bit harsh to me. Yes, he has unique taste (although the swimming pool room and girlfriend both seem ok) but all Premiership footballers are overpaid, we all know that. Why does it matter what he spends his wealth on in his house? I just want him to be a success on the pitch and if creating the pinkest bedroom in history makes him happy, so be it.
-
All the money in the world won't buy you a decent syrup

Spot on.
I too couldn't really care about how he spends his money, but I am sure he makes some Cheshire painters and decorators, big-ticket furniture retailers and purveyors of crushed velvet upholstory, swags and tails very happy.
My problem is the fact that he wants to share it with the world. The moment your tastes in interior decor are in the public domain, you can hardly complain if some ridicule it for its ostenatiousness.
-
It's his life. Let him live it.
-
Fantastic fish tank.
-
Wife is hot!

I should say this is Mr Aquilanis lady. (0% Villa)
-
I had a look at his official website (ok I was trawling for more pics of his missus!) and it's mostly dedicated to a Children's Hospice.
Good on him!

which ones Stephen Ireland? The one in the middle or on the Right?
-
The baldy bastards pink bedroom actually hurt my eyes.
He's such a prick, but then again, most footbllers are.
That's to blind you while he buggers you..
His missus is pretty nice though (I know, I'm jealous).

I was expecting worse.

And an old pissed mattress with a few springs popping out thrown out the back, surrounded by dog shit.
-
Some of it is nauseating, but the outside looks good and the fish tank is superb. There is something about him that makes me wonder whether he pulls the fish out and eats them alive if he gets a bit peckish, a bit like the bloke on 'A fish called Wanda'. Might be something to do with the fact that he's as mad as a march hare. But, as many have said, as long as he plays well for us........................etc......
-
The inside of some stranger's house seems a bizarre thing to be interested in. Although I have just written my surname on my ping-pong bat in marker-pen.
-
That fish tank is impressive.
THe crshed velevet sofa thing looks bloody comfy to me.
The pink bedroom, is the sort of thing that any of us would do for our daughter if she really wanted it and we could afford it.
The main bedroom has some seriously nice furniture in it.
I'm not sure about that white chair thing mind you! Looks a bit naff to me (though I suspect an interior designed probably talked his other half into that).
None of that makes him a prick. The fact there has been a photo shoot in his home makes him like many, many other celebs who appear in Hello, OK, Sunday supplement mags etc. His taste is definitely not the worst either.
I think sometimes that there are people who enjoy picking on others just because they can.
-
Is this the same fellow who faked his grandmother's death certificate in order to get a few days sick leave?
It's Stephen Ireland. You know the one, bald fella who joined us from Man City. I'm not aware that forging official documents is something he's ever been accused of.
When an employee asks for compassionate leave due to a family bereavement, most employers aren't insensitive enough to demand proof of death. Apart from which, death certificates aren't issued immediately anyway.
I have something in common with Stephen Ireland - a chihuahua. Like Paris Hilton, mine's for decorative purposes only - to make me look tall.
-
The point that you keep making, that you think Ireland is a massive prick and can be a massive prick at Villa.
It's almost like you want him to be.
Amazing.
This is a bit embarrassing for you. Read back through the thread, you'll find that I was sticking up for Ireland, but pointed out that he could be a prick. We don't know.
Amazing.

Ireland's crime seems to be a strange taste in most things and lying when his girlfriend had a miscarriage. What a prick!
FAO Timthevillain - Not that it matters, but clearly your sarcasm radar is off a bit.
-
I've just shown the picture of his daughter's bedroom to my little girl, and she thinks it's absolutely fantastic, as predicted.
-
I have something in common with Stephen Ireland - a chihuahua.
But you've always seemed such a sensible person. How appearances can deceive ;)

3 things.
1. I've met Jim Davidson and he is a damn good laugh to be with - his jokes are a bit Rowntrees jam but he isn't racist.
2. No, I can't see any sarcasm - sorry !
3. Let it lie.
-
That chihuahua would have played better than Ireland did yesterday.

He was played out of position; if that shot had gone in, he'd be the new star of Villa park, chihuahua and all !

Whatever Tim. I'm not sure what the point of your golf club post was anyway, to be honest.
-
The only image that leaps into my mind when I think of Jim Davidson and a golf club is one of a sand wedge wrapped around his drastically unfunny head.
-
He's doing Panto this season in Glasgow along with those two blokes off the home improvement show and an assortment of other non-entities.
-
i really couldnt give a frig what his house looks like, but i expect better from an £8m player than we have so far recieved!
Yesterday he was shit, sporadically against vienna he was ok and newcastle , well shit!
Tim the villain, if he wasnt played in his correct position which is central midfield, well where should he be playing? You are now going to say in the hole with nrc behind him arent you, what!, doing all the work he should be doing?
