Surely that's not the "master" bedroom?

Looks a bit small considering the size of the house.

He might be loaded, but he has the interior decorating taste of Zsa Zsa Gabor.
Every room is headache inducing.

Pretty much exactly what I was expecting. Vulgar modern footballer with too much cash and no taste - no real surprise, is it? Don't hold your breath for a Mastermind appearance from his missus either.

He's that thick, he has to have his name printed on his pool table for the frequent times he forget's who he is.

Is his Gran still dead?

Oi you lot, you're talking about one of our best players......

I have to say in his 'defence' - at 23, and earning c. £60k per week, that's £3 million per annum, about 120 times the national average - what more can you expect ?

Maybe when he's 30, he'll be buying antiques and de-blinging.

Until then, let him enjoy his wealth I say.

I always appreciate a smug, superior tone when looking down the nose at someone with a different taste to myself. It makes me feel better than the person I'm having a go at.

Just a thought, does anyone really expect Ireland to be the arbiter in terms of interior decorating there - you know it s his unbelievably fit mrs with her hands on copious amounts of money making incredibly poor decisions like that. I know anything that happens in terms of decorating my house is purely down to my wife.

When I read what you lot were calling him "Prick" etc.... I thought somebody had bumped a thread from last season, whilst he was still at Man city.

Yet it was today and he's our player that has done nothing but say how happy he is to be a Villa player rather than a Citeh one.

Disgraceful.

To be honest, it's not really that bad, is it? Assuming the pink room is his daughter's.

Not my taste - with that kind of money I'd get myself something at least a few centuries old. and preferably surrounded by rolling countryside, but then again, if I think back to what i was like at 23 (in terms of immaturity) and what I'd have done with that kind of money, I'd probably have expired by now. In a gold plated 12 storey apartment.

I'd build a fake Roman Villa, and fill it with lady servants dressed as mymphets. And everyone would have to get changed into togas before entering the house.

The guy is a successful player in the toughest league in the world and he gets paid well for it.  He can do what he likes with his money and if enjoys spending it on a house like this good luck to him, but I don't know why that qualifies him as a prick. He obviously has a good sense of humour and is an extrovert so we can't expect him to buy a semi-detached in Yardley, next door to Craig Gardner and his parents.

The world would be a much duller place without people like Ireland and it's those extrovert traits that make him such an exciting prospect for us.

Absoluletely, it seems some would want him buying an ex council house in Nechells to be close to the ground and walk to VP on a Friday night to get the coach so he could go and 'live it up' in a hotel for the night with the lads over a Mackeson.

Having bad taste in furniture and decoration does not make you a 'prick'. Some of the posts on this thread seem a bit harsh to me. Yes, he has unique taste (although the swimming pool room and girlfriend both seem ok) but all Premiership footballers are overpaid, we all know that. Why does it matter what he spends his wealth on in his house? I just want him to be a success on the pitch and if creating the pinkest bedroom in history makes him happy, so be it.

Spot on.

I too couldn't really care about how he spends his money, but I am sure he makes some Cheshire painters and decorators, big-ticket furniture retailers and purveyors of crushed velvet upholstory, swags and tails very happy.

My problem is the fact that he wants to share it with the world.  The moment your tastes in interior decor are in the public domain, you can hardly complain if some ridicule it for its ostenatiousness.

The baldy bastards pink bedroom actually hurt my eyes.

He's such a prick, but then again, most footbllers are.

That's to blind you while he buggers you..

His missus is pretty nice though (I know, I'm jealous).

I was expecting worse.

How would some of you like it if Stephen Ireland was criticising your house and it's decor? I sincerely doubt many people on here live in the kind of minimalist Bauhaus mansions that would get Kevin McCloud creaming his pants. I know I don't! It's a matter of taste.

I bet you've got a knackered fridge in your front garden, along with a caravan with green algae growing up the side.

And an old pissed mattress with a few springs popping out thrown out the back, surrounded by dog shit.

Some of it is nauseating, but the outside looks good and the fish tank is superb. There is something about him that makes me wonder whether he pulls the fish out and eats them alive if he gets a bit peckish, a bit like the bloke on 'A fish called Wanda'. Might be something to do with the fact that he's as mad as a march hare. But, as many have said, as long as he plays well for us........................etc......

The inside of some stranger's house seems a bizarre thing to be interested in. Although I have just written my surname on my ping-pong bat in marker-pen.

That fish tank is impressive.

THe crshed velevet sofa thing looks bloody comfy to me.

The pink bedroom, is the sort of thing that any of us would do for our daughter if she really wanted it and we could afford it.

The main bedroom has some seriously nice furniture in it.

I'm not sure about that white chair thing mind you! Looks a bit naff to me (though I suspect an interior designed probably talked his other half into that).

None of that makes him a prick. The fact there has been a photo shoot in his home makes him like many, many other celebs who appear in Hello, OK, Sunday supplement mags etc. His taste is definitely not the worst either.

I think sometimes that there are people who enjoy picking on others just because they can.

Is this the same fellow who faked his grandmother's death certificate in order to get a few days sick leave?

It's Stephen Ireland.  You know the one, bald fella who joined us from Man City.  I'm not aware that forging official documents is something he's ever been accused of.

When an employee asks for compassionate leave due to a family bereavement, most employers aren't insensitive enough to demand proof of death. Apart from which, death certificates aren't issued immediately anyway.

I have something in common with Stephen Ireland - a chihuahua. Like Paris Hilton, mine's for decorative purposes only - to make me look tall.

The point that you keep making, that you think Ireland is a massive prick and can be a massive prick at Villa.

It's almost like you want him to be.

Amazing.

This is a bit embarrassing for you. Read back through the thread, you'll find that I was sticking up for Ireland, but pointed out that he could be a prick. We don't know.

Amazing.

I don't know Jim Davidson personally, but I know he's a prick.

Because he's a sexist, racist prick?

Ireland's crime seems to be a strange taste in most things and lying when his girlfriend had a miscarriage. What a prick!

FAO Timthevillain - Not that it matters, but clearly your sarcasm radar is off a bit.

I've just shown the picture of his daughter's bedroom to my little girl, and she thinks it's absolutely fantastic, as predicted.

But you've always seemed such a sensible person. How appearances can deceive ;)

3 things.

1. I've met Jim Davidson and he is a damn good laugh to be with  - his jokes are a bit Rowntrees jam but he isn't racist.

2. No, I can't see any sarcasm - sorry !

3. Let it lie.

He was played out of position; if that shot had gone in, he'd be the new star of Villa park, chihuahua and all !

No, he's a racist, violent, unfunny wife beater, to be more precise.

I'll let him know next time I'm at his golf club in Surrey.

'Racist, violent, unfunny wife beater' - I'll remember those very words.

The only image that leaps into my mind when I think of Jim Davidson and a golf club is one of a sand wedge wrapped around his drastically unfunny head.

i really couldnt give a frig what his house looks like, but i expect better from an £8m player than we have so far recieved!
Yesterday he was shit, sporadically against vienna he was ok and newcastle , well shit!
Tim the villain, if he wasnt played in his correct position which is central midfield, well where should he be playing? You are now going to say in the hole with nrc behind him arent you, what!, doing all the work he should be doing?
