Title: World Touring Car
Post by: Jon Crofts on July 01, 2010, 09:18:28 PM
Anyone else follow WTCC?

Some great drivers in the series, Alain Menu, Gabrielle Tarquini (remember him driving the Alfa 155 to victory in BTTC?),  Andy Priaulx.
Nothing quite like seeing pro drivers racing stock production cars bumper to bumper with lots of contact & wheel to wheel action.
Portugal round this weekend & Brands Hatch 18 July.

My wife went to school with his sister.

I can watch the touring cars, it's certainly more exciting than the Follow-my-leader F1 stuff.

I never got into the WTCC. I used to follow the BTCC quite a lot but not as much nowadays.

I remember Priaulx winning about three championships in it a few years back though.

Methinks Derv hasn't watched too much F1 of late.

I owe my Alfa Romeo habit (2x75, 1x155 lurking about the place) to Tarquini's antics. Great driver. Great cars!

Stopped watching it properly years ago, I like the politics and all the technical stuff but the racing was getting tedious.

Is it better this season then, worth me watching more than five minute highlights which used to be easily enough to see all the overtaking, such as it was.

Just blagged 2 VIP passes for Sunday 18th at Brands, I'll wave as I walk the grid pre-start.

Cracking days racing at Brands yesterday, 2 WTCC races & a host of support races.

Apparently there were some cars on the grid?

The Seat Leon Euro Cup ended early after this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKtUoxx7nok)which may have stung a bit.
