Title: Kevin Bridges: in search of the Beautiful Game
Post by: stubbsyandy on June 05, 2026, 08:49:30 PM: This documentary on BBC is a great watch, some serious observations but som very insightful observations..and a few laughs! It’s also got SJM in it, he’s a bloody legend!

He's also unapologetically pished, when he's wrapping things up after being with the Arsenal fans in Noo Yoik.

"The last time Scotland were in the World Cup I was starting high school where his Mum was one of my teachers.

The first time I met him was when his Mum had put me in detention and he’d finished primary school early and came over to wait for his Mum finishing. I was sitting doing my punishment exercise and he was sitting doing his homework. Who knew what the future held in store for us both, so it was nice 28 years later to go back to where we first met."

8yrs age difference.
If Bridges was 15/16 then SJM could well have got there either with hus ttwin sister, or big brother who's 2 yrs older.

Get the impression he wasn't mollycoddled and it's a walk of just under a mobile.

Both had plenty of reservations about the World Cup regards pricing of tickets and transport....genuine fans being priced out etc.
Also the comments made by SJM about the scruffy pitches he'd play on with his mates all day, during the school holidays, which are never seemingly used now was pretty sad.
