Already can't wait for the 2027-28 kit launch when we might actually get an Aston Villa kit.

Such an opportunity for us to market ourselves and we release this shit.

Awful cut, awful design, completely wrong shade of claret.

Other than that it's fine!

I hope it grows on me but I’m a claret body/blue sleeves, white shorts, blue socks traditionalist.

This isnt the Villa.

Take the badge off and imagine being shown it. I doubt many would think it's a Villa home shirt.

I like it.

It’s a bit concerning that the kit goes on sale of Thursday without a shirt sponsor.
Does that suggest nothing is lined up yet as any new sponsor will want their name on the shirts before they go on sale ?

Jacob Tanswell
@J_Tanswell

Really like the kit and great video... have explained previously but #AVFC, right now, grow in commercial appeal to sponsors when they are a Champions League club - which they now are. This considerably impacts how lucrative a front-of-shirt sponsor is.

So, although it has no front-of-shirt sponsor at this precise moment, Villa will look to put one on this shirt once it is agreed. Considering this video was made a little while back and Villa only found out they were in the CL a fortnight ago, it makes sense that they need more time to agree with a front-of-shirt sponsor.

But surely they can do better than that.

They look snazzy but it is too much claret, there's just no way around it. Ah well, hopefully we'll write some better history with it.

Thought the promo skit was delightful and charming, absolutely love this team.

A shirt based on an era when we finished 16th, 18th, and 21st in the second division and 4th in division 3. Be still my beating heart.

Its ok, the 'clarets' certainly no worse than the Under Armor interpretation, which I hated.

Its a lot of money for what it is, I'll wait for the away top (if it is the black one as leaked).

“We cannot leave the decade without considering a typical piece of audacity from the flamboyant Scot, Tommy Docherty. Having established his reputation as a aston villa 1969successful manager with Chelsea (1961-67) he had a brief spell with Rotherham United (relegated) and an even briefer one with Queen's Park Rangers (resigned after 29 days following a row with the chairman) before being appointed manager of Aston Villa in December 1968. In preparation for the 1969-70 season he introduced a radical redesign of Villa's treasured traditional strip. The contrasting blue sleeves, worn for more than 75 years were dropped and a novel flappy collar with v inset appeared. The claret shirts were now teamed with light blue shorts, the first time ever that such a combination had been tried. To cap it all the familar crest was gone, replaced by a somewhat scrawny lion rampant in light blue above the letters "AV" in an ornate script. Had the season gone well this might have entered the pantheon as a classic strip but in January 1970, Villa were bottom of The Second Division and "The Doc" was sacked. The board immediately made a request to the Football League management committee that they be allowed to switch back to their strip from the previous season, which was granted.”

So it only lasted a few months before fan power changed it!

Fully get that people don't like it, however loads of people wear the Asics 1993, Hummel 1987, Reebok 1999 & Luke shirts, so the club obviously think there's a market for non traditional shirts every few years.

No sponsor would be epic. But why would Audi or whoever it is, allow the shirt go on sale without their branding on it? Thousands of sponsorless shirts will be sold this week...

Also, surely Adidas would stick to the same shade of claret from the last two seasons? We finally got the colour right and now we're reverting back to something brighter?

Not on sale on the website yet, waiting for the sponsor?

I imagine we're trying to negotiate a good deal and that qualification for the Chumps has increased our leverage.

Wonder how many they'd sell in "plain".

Have they had the shirts manufactured and shipped to the UK, ready to be overprinted with the sponsor in the UK?

Can't imagine they're all still at some Chinese/Vietnamese sweatshop ready to be finished off, given the shipping time - 5 weeks on a boat, plus customs and haulage over here = you're looking at a 7 week stretch.

That would take us to early August. Far too late.

The Prem season kicks off on 22 Aug and we'll have friendlies beforehand.

Just read the launch blurb on the club website - on sale from Thursday?

So no sponsor?

They weren't shirts we were utterly shit while wearing though.

It would be like in 2040 the club do a shirt inspired by the 2015-16 kit.

They can print a sponsor on the shirt at the shop, it's the same procedure. Go on sale in 2 days so I reckon they'll either announce in sponsor within 48 hours or give you an option to have it printed on in the future if they sell them without a sponsor.

Its frustrating that we’ve the (potential) option for a sponsor-free shirt, but once again it’s a shit non-traditional one.

Looks like it’s another year at least for the black anniversary shirt for me (which at least commemorates us inventing badges for football clubs, and before we’d settled on claret & blue … still rather have a traditional shirt mind)

Wow, a traditional villa kit is boring?

That's what the away and third kits are for. What other big club messes with its traditional kit? Leave this nonsense to southampton and the like.

And light blue shorts? Surely not.

I'd imagine the blue shorts are to make the kit more claret and blue. I prefer us wearing white shorts though.

I think the long-sleeved version is the better of the two. The thick (glow) blue stripes provide a bit more balance to the claret.

I absolutely loved the launch video, very funny. Brilliant bit of marketing.

The kit itself, not so much.  That said, I also didn't particularly like the Luke shirt when was when it was released, and that grew on me over the course of the season.  So although I won't be rushing to buy it, I'll reserve judgement until I've seen us play in it a few times.

I would imagine if you buy a sponsorless one, the club will add the sponsor for free, when it's announced (and if you want the sponsor on it).  They'll just be heat-pressed patches anyway, and I'm sure the sponsor will cover the cost, as they'd want them on the front anyway.

A lot of claret yah, Burnley etc but I think it'll grow on people - it has on me already! You can see the quality and detail is way beyond that of the previous decade of budget kit manufacturers and the promo video is brilliant - the players look great in the kit.

After 40 years following the villa, with so many variations on the home shirt design during that time, it's funny seeing the reaction each year - so many people angry on here and the 'socials'. Imagine the past 40 years with pretty much the same traditional design, it'd be boring (and my fave shirt is the super trad 89/90 Hummel one worn by Dalian, Deano, God etc). The different shirts, the players and memories attached to them are all part of the ride.

I loike it. Lets win another cup in it?

I've suddenly developed the urge to gouge my own eyes out! But for now, at least...

Here's the elephant....

As one who's old enough to remember when a strip would do for several seasons (without any complaint from the fans), it's obvious to me that this atrocity is a direct result of changing it every year, simply for profit. The similarity between the two previous strips is a case in point (common sense suggesting that there was no need to change at all). This has obviously driven the designers to this significant departure.

Fans....'But it's hardly any different to last year!'....

Adidas...'Right, we'll bloody well show you!...You wanted change?....Well here it is, bitches!'

In biology (bear with me) there's a limit to how much a species can change over time, before it bears little or no resemblance to its ancestors. The same "evolution" appears to have occurred here. This piss-poor effort's only similarities with a Villa shirt, are the holes at the neck, waist and sleeves!

I may be projecting, but the "style conscious" Mr Onana's expression seems to indicate what he thinks of it, too! >:(

Mueller kits of 93/94, 94/95 would like a word. Yes changes are made every season rather then every two seasons but we still ended up with disliked tops. The difference now is the moaners only have a year to froth over it before it gets changed rather then two.

I'm harking back to the pre-sponsorship glory days of 76-81. Five seasons with exactly the same kit. "Never did us any harm!" ;)

I don't want a shirt sponsor exactly, but given the club's financial situation it would be pretty negligent not to get one.

We will have one 100%.

I'm talking about people not wanting to buy a shirt with one on. That's weird to me. They are better without sponsors on them.

True, does seem like a narrow window to get something rare and nicer looking.

A good compromise was when clubs alternated new shirts. So one year it was a new home, following year a new away and so on. Then ManU, shock horror, realised 3 new kits every season was money in the bank and now here we are. Another thing to blame those twats for.

Claret body, blue sleeves, white shorts, claret socks with a bit of blue. (stand alone lion badge)
Crazy idea, I know, but that's what I'd like to see.

This thing looks like a leisure/golf polo shirt.

Why would you buy a sponsor-less one and a sponsored one?

I can imagine people going out their way for a plain one, and some weirdos waiting for a sponsored one. But doing both is surely grounds for a good sectioning?

'Look guys. You've had your fun with the sectioning. There's going to be no more sectioning today.'

Apart from the rectangle at the front, I like it. I definitely think shirts are better with no sponsor.

I'm normally a traditionalist when it comes to our kits, but there is something about this one that has my attention. I quite like it.

It just looks a bit more unique compared to your normal templated kits, similar feelings to our recent Luke kits. Also, unless its been specifically mentioned, I think the shorts are white, NOT light blue. It's the colour grading on the video which makes them look blue.... (though we probably do have change blue shorts where required).

Apparently the old fella at the start of the video next to the "Walk Around Pitch" sign is former Villa player Mick Wright who played for us between 1963 and 1973.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mick_Wright_(footballer,_born_1946)

Thanks for pointing that out TS, he appears very briefly but I can see it's Mick Wright now. I think he went into car auctions after playing.

That's quite cool, nice to see us getting former players involved.

That black away kit is basically this year's Man Utd third isn't it?

It doesn't make it any less nice if you like it, but I don't understand why they have to recycle designs like that. They're football kit manufacturers. It's not as if they're too tired after their paper round.

I think it looks spiffing in the video as part of a whole kit, better than it does in the images. Maybe I can get some sepia contact lenses to watch matches.

I'm a big fan of blue sleeves, and not the ones that are just the arm bit, I like some good old-fashioned blue shoulder action, too. I also don't like the badge not being in colour.

But it does look smart (for a football jersey), and I shall await with interest what it looks like in full-blooded action.

Yep probably - although colours may have been considered garish - and the sky blue socks is only a relatively recent tradition. Historically our socks were mainly black or occasionally claret.

Claret shirt, blue sleeves, white shorts*. You can have different coloured socks if you like but blue is clearly the best option.

Fair play to Cardiff fans for protesting when they changed the colours, even though their colours are boring as fuck. We have the best colours in football and regularly piss about with them, only to have supporters queueing up to say how brilliant the shit sandwich they've been served is.

*obvs fair enough if the women want to wear darker shorts.

I didn't know that at the time, as I can't remember the relegation, and without Wikipedia, the world was a dark, data-free void that still gives me nightmares.

Hand-me-down footie shirts were par for the course round our way. My best mate didn't own a football shirt that hadn't been his brother's first.

Luckily I only had older sisters, and their dresses didn't go with my footie boots. But because of the price, I could only have a Villa shirt as a Christmas prezzie, so I still had to wait till half way through the season anyway.

Yeah, must be because the stripes would make it hard to adhere the sleeve badges on.

I was the oldest in the family so no hand me downs for me. I only had two kits as a kid. Full kit and tracksuit for Christmas in 82 (was really chuffed) and the 89-90 home and away shirts as a birthday present the year I left school.

The first replica shirt I had was the AST kit in '96. No childhood kits, but on Xmas Day 1977 I got a Villa lamp and the round League Cup Winners mirror. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/267432459289

Still have the mirror which is mint, but not the lamp.

Not according to this. https://www.footyheadlines.com/2026/01/aston-villa-26-27-home-away-third-kits.html

We appear to be using similar templates to Yanited. If correct, the trefoil will be on the away kit rather than the third kit this season.

It has a slightly different badge and a different woven pattern in it. If you have a watch or Justin Talks Villa latest vid, he compares the two.

I imagine there’s also a “ fit” difference

The downside of this advice is that you may have to watch a video with Justin Talks Villa in it, which is a price nobody should have to pay.

But in a nutshell, the player version will be more fitted, has a shinier badge (rather than woven), has a slightly different weave pattern in the fabric and is theoretically more breathable.

If you're skinny and rich get the player version.  If you're a fatty, the replica is the way to go.

Assuming it is something that can go on the kids kit (and I'm not sure what can go on adults and not childrens now alcohol and betting has been canned), then they usually give free printing options at the shop/store.

They'll obviously have done the sums on early sales without a sponsor versus later sales with one but I imagine the sponsor would have preferred to enjoy the initial spike, so will presumably deduct that from whatever they offer us.

I wouldn't have thought so. If we get a sponsor they'll be in it for the TV and big media opportunities. I very much doubt they'll give a shit they weren't associated with a story that wasn't picked up by anyone bigger than Birmingham Live and some hardcore local fans.

The white one is lovely, but not a fan of that home one.

I don't like the yellowy-orangey-gold, and I prefer blue sleeves that go up onto the shoulder.

Same here, I don't think it really works going across the claret and then the blue on the arm. We don't have blue sleeves anymore, anyway 🙂.

Good on them for doing their own arm bands to cover the sportswashing.

Please tell me it’s not true.

It’s direct sport washing by the current horrific regime that’s kidnapped tortured a close friend and killed his friend https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kizito_Mihigo who co-authored the national anthem. One of my great regrets is failing to mobilise journalists when he was taken and imprisoned before his “suicide”, the Africa correspondent for one of our broadsheets I’d got hold of on Signal failed to bite when we had a great window to expose his capture/kidnap as the Queen was over at the time.
Then we heard he died.

I am in disbelief if this is true.

A documentary film is in edit about my friend; there is much bad publicity ahead if this is true.

The fact it’s stock images doesn’t disprove (or prove) anything.

That Twitter channel has consistent Rw govt messaging and a bit of a deep dive AI analysis of it suggests

“@FactsOnRwanda appears to function as a long-running pro-Rwanda/pro-government amplification hub. It behaves more like a communications outlet than a personal account, but there is currently no public evidence identifying the operator or proving direct government ownership.”

It’s substantial that it’s on that account today and unless hacked a genuine villa fan spotted it at VP also.

Seems like old new/deals change over end of the month, I’m just hoping nothing signed yet though for them to be spouting it worries me a lot.

Maybe it’s unusual as UCL finalists were Visit Rwanda sponsored, and Kagame is such a well known Arsenal fan but the fact 8 out of his last 10 tweets are about football says a lot about the importance of sport washing to them.

Not sure which campaigners you are referring to , Twitter responses seem to be either presumably Rw footy fans saying Villa are a step down from Arsenal or Vill fans not welcoming this. No sense of anyone trying to warn anyone off apart from the above.

We wanted betting companies gone and they are now. This isn't ideal but it's the way the game is now.

If we only accept deals with 100% fully ethical sponsors then we're gonna struggle. It's difficult enough for us as it is being outside of the Sky 6.

I realise I will be on my own here.

I think there’s a lot of good points esp around the US.
Yet when a regime sends commandos overseas to assassinate, domestically kidnaps, tortures and murderers its own citizens, etc etc. (I could go on)
Where do you draw the line?
Ok I draw it a lot earlier than some - I did not like us having Under Armour due to their big game hunting range.

Tbh I got advised not to do public emergency fundraising for my friend a few years back for the safety of my own family, and even writing here I start to question the wisdom of it (I kept stuff to GM before for safety), which is exactly how this regime works. It’s well known (eg Channel 4 news stories) the diaspora including in the U.K. is terrified.

I submitted evidence to the solicitors taking the case against UK Govt with the bizarre sending folk there plan
Despite having had multiple death threats against him he decided he couldn’t not go public, ITN flew out and did a headline interview, though the news cycle shifted with the Queen dying, and unless we actually sent folk there I imagine they were reluctant to put him at more risk. So that never got broadcast but if ever anything happens to him it’s in the can. Possible BBC radio programme in the pipeline.

This was the only thing that came out at that point, via Freedon From Torture’s press guy.
https://metro.co.uk/2022/06/19/asylum-seeker-tortured-in-rwandan-prison-slams-uk-deportation-scheme-16838517/amp/

When the documentary film finally gets edited there will be plenty more bad publicity and I don’t want Villa involved.

If as a Season Ticket holder you aren’t going to speak out when it’s a regime that’s kidnapped and tortured a close friend then when can you.

I was horrified https://www.gunnersforpeace.co.uk/ needed to exist for this sportswashing.
Telling as is Arsenal, PSG, Bayern and Athletic all benefitted, I’ll be heartbroken if the my own team takes blood money.

My take on it is there is at lest something in the pipeline and I hope it can be stopped.

I don't think it's naive to want a club you support to be better, to set an example, maybe even try to lead by it. At least a bit.

And if we're not as successful as a result I'd happily live with that. Because the one think that would finish me as a supporter is not the club winning trophies, it's if it becomes something I no longer worry about and want to do well.

Galway United's home shirt this season (well under-way now, it runs from Feb to Halloween) is a homage to Eamonn Deacy with his signature placed below the crest and AV81 printed along the bottom of the back.

Ironically, the sponsors are our would-be owners in 2006 before a disagreeement over the valuation of Villa and Randy stepped in - the Comer brothers...

I’m not going to get stressed about the Rwanda thing. Not because I don’t care about Rwandan human rights abuses, but because it’s a waste of energy. None of us have any vote, veto, or voice in Villa’s commercial decisions. The sponsorship will happen or it won’t based on boardroom conversations we are not part of. My concern is a variable that has precisely zero effect on the outcome.

Stress without agency isn’t a moral position, it’s just noise that costs you energy. The only influence is to just not buy a shirt with it on. I presume that is possible.
Title: Re: Aston Villa Kit 26/27

Yep, I think PT is absolutely right with what he's doing here, raise it, make it very clear why this would be unacceptable and then leave it with the club to decide how they proceed. If they go ahead then clearly the financial rewards are worth the potential loss of goodwill, etc but the time to complain is before anything has happened not by boycotting the shirt when it's already too late for the club to back out until next summer.

Thanks for the reporting back, and yes I hope now is the time to kick up a fuss to stop anything happening, or wriggle out of it if signed. I’m naively optimistic. At least I know questions are being asked internally on my behalf.
It’s not nice to be forceful and threaten embarrassing the club with negative publicity, the last thing I’d want, but if that’s what is necessary to keep our hands clean so be it.

Not go to too far off topic, just seen someone share they have a friend 10miles from a WC group game who can’t afford to buy a tkt (one) as it would cost them more than it cost (for two) to fly to the uk, accommodation and two way over FV tickets for FA Cup final two years ago. Amazing. There were protests about Beijing hosting Olympics re: human rights, clearly there should have been the same for Trumps America (obv FIFA at fault on tkt pricing. What a mess.)

Not aware of anyone else big enough locally who could spare a £40 - £50million sponsorship deal

Also, and all joking aside. would a local provider not isolate the unwashed support (albeit a very small number granted) but i remember telling my Mom not to buy a Triton shower when we was looking for one in the 80's and i know a few noses that boycotted Luke clothing  ::)

Also, and all joking aside. would a local provider not isolate the unwashed support (albeit a very small number granted) but i remember telling my Mom not to buy a Triton shower when we was looking for one in the 80's and i know a few noses that boycotted Luke clothing  ::)

If you’re referring to what Tanswell said on a podcast, he said local as in UK-based.

No idea how he’d know, and no idea why the Villa would prefer local to global, regardless of the money. I suspect we’d prefer the highest bidder.

I find comments like that interesting in the sense that it suggests cutting a connection with something that has been a significant part of your life is an easy thing to do. Clearly I’m assuming you’re not bothered by sports washing sid. That’s entirely your choice, but it’s also entirely fair to support Aston Villa football club and simultaneously not support a poor decision that’s been made (if it has).

I always wondered how awkward that first conversation was between the diplomats when we decided that we would put off illegal immigrants by threatening to send them there.

I remember during the genocide in the Balkans thinking that Serbia looked beautiful and I'd really like to go there.

Went in 2006 and I wasn't disappointed.  17p for a litre of 6% lager, ridiculously strong ecstasy at 80p a pill, beautiful countryside, beautiful people, warm weather, .... mad bastard person running the guesthouse who sat around drinking 3 bottles of homemade peach brandy between me, my mate, and him ... then he went off and killed then butchered an actual real life, living sheep to make a stew for us with (I'm vegetarian so said no thanks, but I've been told it was delicious).  And we chased a pig down an abandoned railway line at about 6am whilst absolutely twatted on this spirit that was made from wormwood and probably illegal in this country as I'm fairly sure it was mildly hallucinogenic.

I'm not sure if any of that happens in Rwanda, mind.

Well here’s the thing, I’d booked it through a friend-of-a-friend as it were. My mate Eoin’s temporary housemate in Belfast was this Serbian lad who’d gone over to learn about the troubles and how they were dealing with the tensions. I didn’t really know the lad that well, but he seemed like a laugh and said that his dad had a b&b, so we agreed and booked a week there without ever having met the bloke or any knowledge of where we were staying.

Went over and the chap picked us up from the railway station off the laughably titled “sleeper” train from Budapest to Novi Sad (seating only, no air conditioning so it was roasting, poorly maintained track made it very bumpy … then when I finally did nod off, the train came to an abrupt stop and some border coppers came on waving machine guns about and demanding to see our passports).

Anyway, matey boy didn’t speak a word of English, we didn’t speak any Serbian, so the whole conversation was in a mix of pidgin German and gesticulating wildly whilst slowly saying words in our respective languages. Somehow we managed to have a 4-5hr conversation with the bloke every day for a week despite these clear limitations.

Anyway, the last full day we were there, after breakfast (which consisted of a Turkish coffee each and half a bottle of homemade spirit between us) he indicated to come with him. Took us out in this car to the middle of nowhere, down this farm track. Me and my mate were looking at eachother thinking “what the hell is going on here?”, genuinely a bit unnerved. Anyway, he drove a bit further up to a farmhouse, pointed at himself, pointed at the farmhouse “ja”, pointed at us, pointed at the house “nein”, then disappeared in to the house.

A few minutes later we heard this “baa! Baa! (thunk)” noise, then he came out holding an unconscious lamb in his arms. Went to the boot, got a black bin bag out, the lamb went in the bag, then he unceremoniously chucked it in the back of the car. Then he took us back to the house, we all drunk another bottle of peach brandy, he disappeared off, went down to the garage, “baa! Baa!”, then some pretty horrific sounds that were him slaughtering the lamb in his garage.

The funny thing was that his son came to join us for the meal. I’d said “look, I’m vegetarian … has your dad got anything I can eat?”. He translated for his Dad, his dad said something in Serbian and did a thumbs up at me, then went in the house to the kitchen. His son said “it’s ok, my dad says he’s going to chuck some turnips in the lamb stew … special treat for you!”.

Went to the Villa Park store this morning. No sign of Rwanda so far and nobody got bundled onto a plane.

Bought the fans home shirt, and it is nice. But the medium size seems quite big. I was looking at the Authentic version, which is apparently slim fit, and that didn’t look very small.

I am tempted by the Authentic, it looks nice.

No idea why they went with a box rather than the triangle though, the latter would've been more accurate and looks more reasonable. For me that little weird thing is a much bigger problem that the sleeves which has caused so much more noise.

Awww. Yes that’s a routine I indulge in. It also part reminds me of sticking my Rotterdam shirt in the window of my chalet at Bowlie (Belle & Sebastian werkender at Pontins in ‘99, which spawned follow up ATP weekenders where the tradition was maintained.)
I think I may have done it as the equivalent of a festival flag to find my way home, and maybe others had the same idea but it became a widespread window tradition across the site).

Also (Camber Sands) became the venue of my finest football achievements, playing against many favourite bands as we continually blagged our way into 5-a-side each year, runners up then winning the thing after. M
Happy Days.

No nasty regimes on shirts too.

Please 😢

So both Villa club shops are closed tomorrow, 30th June.

They will both re-open on July 1st so entirely speculative on my part but I reckon the closure is to prepare for the announcement of the new front-of-shirt sponsor. It would make sense if the Betano deal runs until tomorrow.

(I couldn't see a FOS thread so apologies if this is in the wrong place).

I doubt it.

The Bullring store is open from 10am to 8pm on Tuesday, June 30.

Bull Ring is open. When they say ‘both shops’ they mean the big one behind the North Stand & the match-day one under the Holte Hotel (which stands to reason as it’s the match-day one). Fingers crossed though, hope it’s not all a coincidence.

They’ve toured the UK showing off that motor but on the other hand we’re the last gig on the tour, on the day the Betano deal runs out.

If the club shop has been closed to prepare for the “supposed” unveiling of the new sponsors

Then the staff would be hanging up shirts with the new sponsors name on them? - unless all the staff have been blindfolded!!

The employees of the club don’t work for MI6 - the name would have been leaked by now

Yes, but I thought we established that only the ground shop was closed, the Bullring one is open, and that it’s most likely due to construction activities tomorrow?

So I get what you’re saying, but it just means it’s probably not being launched at the shop tomorrow.

They can announce at any time.

Of course we will, if nothing else we'd just throw the name of a Sawiris company on there and pay ourselves the £26m we're allowed to under the regulations. That nothing is announced yet, if anything, means that we think there is an opportunity to get more than that.

Title: Re: Aston Villa Kit 26/27
Post by: PeterWithesShin on July 02, 2026, 08:38:46 PM
Remember when a new shirt announcement was pretty much "new home shirt now on sale at the club shop" and now it's

Quote
The 2026/27 home shirt sees the return of trinity amber in the rounded, white cut-away collar and on the outside of white-trimmed sleeves.

Accompanying brilliant white shorts feature a flat finish waistband, concealed draw cords, a blue vertical flash on the sides and matching trinity amber trim on the cutaway. The Everton crest appears on the right thigh, opposite the signature Castore wings.

Royal blue socks with white and trinity amber trim sport ‘EFC’ lettering on the shin, with trademark Castore wings on the calf completing the look.

The shirt was launched with a video featuring a selection of players from Everton’s Men’s and Women’s Senior teams at a steelwork manufacturer in the northern docklands, a stone’s throw from Hill Dickinson Stadium. The location was chosen to celebrate Everton’s place on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront and pay homage to the heritage of the stadium’s industrial surroundings.

Jordan Pickford, James Garner, James Tarkowski, Vitalii Mykolenko, Michael Keane and Harrison Armstrong are joined by Megan Finnigan, Courtney Brosnan, Aurora Galli and Honoka Hayashi in revealing the new kit, accompanied by the tagline ‘The Everton Mettle: Forged in History, Bound by Loyalty’.

Once again, Castore will provide supporters with a choice of purchasing a kit that best suits their lifestyle.

Pro kits, identical to the one worn by the players and available in men’s and women’s sizes only, are designed for peak sporting performance. The ribbed premium, ultra-lightweight Aertek-fabric, with matching shorts, features a raised silicone, heat-sealed Club crest.

Replica kits are non-textured, with enhanced intricate detailing, including a woven applique Club crest and Castore logo, ensuring the kit can be worn for leisure and casual sports.

The kit will be available in long sleeve versions in both Pro and Replica, with a limited stock of sponsor-free shirts, both in Pro and non-textured replica kits, available in men’s sizes and outfield shirts only.

Alternative blue shorts and white socks are available in men’s and youth sizes, in Replica version only.

The green, round-necked goalkeeper kit, which is only available in Replica version, is complemented by a black collar and sleeve trim, with matching shorts and socks.

Surely at that point they start becoming impractical? I already feel the quite-big Toblerones are about as big as you’d want them really - 1 triangle with lunch or 2 triangles to replace (I’d guess) half a big ~100g bar.

But them, they’re going to be whoppers right - must be about 400g per triangle? (Fairly sure they all go <(blank) T O B L E R O N E (blank)>, so 11 triangles.)

Also disappointed at the lack of love for toffees. Toffee is fucking ace.

I sort of enjoy it in an endurance way, like eating a blob of wasabi. Difference is, after the wasabi you feel a burst of relief, like sitting under a pagoda watching the rain fall on a koi pond; after the Creme Egg, you feel like you feel watching someone vomit into a plastic bucket in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Yeah, not a fan either.

I love caramel, though, and have been more than happy with salted caramel being omnipresent over the last decade.

The most disgustingly sweet chocolate product is without doubt the Creme Egg.

How anyone eats that shit is beyond me.
Back when I was working in Liverpool, my workmate offered me £5 to eat a box of 6 Crème Eggs in the time it took to walk back from the shop to our work (probably about 300m).

I managed it, but would definitely advise against doing it even if you are offered £5 as I felt like shit for the rest of the day and probably gave myself diabetes in the process.

I’d hold out for at least a tenner.

I prefer caramel.

Fuck caramel.

What about Caramacs?

Caramacs are fucking ace.

Indeed they are

The fuck caramel line is a tribute to a young Ulsterman with tourettes who posts videos of himself and shouts fuck caramel quite a lot

You get all your sugars through carbohydrates?

Couldn’t do that, bud, can’t beat a nice bit of fruit

Hideous!  It's like some of the tat the club shop would sell in the 90s as "street" fashion. Mind you, I probably wasn't  the target market in my 30s and I'm certainly not now.

Received the new home shirt as a birthday gift this morning. Much as I want to hate it, as something to actually wear as a casual shirt it works quite well. Subtle.

Looks better with brown sunglass lenses too, more claret than purple.

Getting back on topic. This is Villa Kit is up there with some of the worst Villa Kits in recent times. Nearly as bad as the Henson kits of the 80s

Never, nothing is ever as bad as the Henson kit.

This one is smart, I quite like wearing it. I love the 2024-25 Adidas home and white away, but this is up there just below them.
