Title: Season Tickets - 2026/27
Post by: Chris Harte on May 25, 2026, 02:23:27 PM
I'll make the assumption that those of us with season tickets will be learning this week what we'll have to pay for next season.

What are your thoughts on price increases? Or perhaps you think there will be a price freeze?

As a reminder, here are last season's season ticket prices for adults without consessions.

1888 - £992
Zone 1 - £955
Zone 2 - £859
Zone 3 - £804
Zone 4 - £672.

Also with the North Stand closure, there are less seats in the ground for GA so they will want to claw some of that back.

I was talking with The Enemy about this today, I'm Z4 but going for £50/100 price rise. If they are going to take the piss, now is the time to do it.

How big is the waiting list currently for season tickets?

Theoretically around or over 40k but given the new points system probably less than 10k with any substance and last year about 1200 were offered season tickets. Obvs this year reduced capacity.

They can go where they like if there are free seats and only have to pay more for Cat1. All the rest is at the prices ranges for the North even of they moved from Cat 4 to Cat 2.

5% increase on season tickets and match tickets isn't too bad. 5% increase on the already extortionate prices we paid for the Champions League last time we were in it is wank.

Works out as £75 a match for the Champions League games if bought as part of season ticket. How much were they last time for Upper Holte?

Hadn't spotted the season ticket thing, that's not so bad. It was £70 for each match last time with a season ticket in my area, but I am in the cheapest area in Lower Holte. Not sure about upper.

Edit: works out at £66.50 per CL group game so slight decrease.

This is interesting about the new waiting list points system;

"This approach has already led to a significant improvement in first-time uptake, with 83% of newly available 2025/26 season tickets accepted by the first supporter they were offered to, compared to 10% previously."

This is what we're up against

If we sold out every Prem and ECL game next season at £100 a ticket we'd earn:

23x 100 x 37,000 =£85.1m

ManU have announced a new training kit sponsorship deal worth £20m

So they'll earn roughly 25% of our £85.1m for a a name on their training kit.

I'm not sure they would reduce that increase by very much even if we had those sponsors.

Inflation has been 3% since the end of last season, so we were at the very least getting that.

Almost certainly not, as the option is open to all of our approx 30,000 season ticket holders and we will get fewer than 3,000 away tickets for most games.

Can't help having a feeling of unease about this one.

Since the summer of 2021, to have a season ticket in the Lower Holte centre has gone from £575 per season to just over £900 now. At this rate it'll be over a grand by the summer of 2028.

If you keep having inflation busting rises every season, is it really a suitable enducement to the people that they'll need to eventually fill a 52k seater stadium? They've got a chance at the moment, but when Unai leaves us (hopefully not for another decade at least), if they botch his replacement it could spell disaster.

Keep putting the prices up as they are will only be work as long as the team are doing well. As soon as they ain't the whole house of cards will start to shake.

You still have the option to buy on a game by game basis so if you decide not to go to one of them you won’t pay.

I agree. Im in lower holte, zone 4 so cheapest seats, but still that rise for me and my lad over the last 7/8 years is wow! Im sitting in the sun drinking west country cider, so nothing seems too bad, and Ill find a way to pay, but what looks like a 166 a month bill, is getting harder. The prices are never going to drop now either.

Slightly complicated as it was over three years with a 3% rise in the first year + up to 5% in each of the next two. Supporters groups calculated this could add up to a combined 13% increase over the three years. This is why they chose the 13th minute for the protest

That's a dynamic which is present in thousands of different industries, with thousands of different products.

I can kind of rationalise the 5% on the ST given our ongoing improvement.  Still madness, really, but perhaps understandable.

But further inflating the already ridiculous CL ticket prices is an absolute joke.  I was pretty sure they would come down.

Not sure what the point of the FAB is when the club is this tone deaf.

I only noticed last night, as my birthday is in July I fall into the age concessions bracket in A6 Upper Trinity where we sit, I will be 66 and I get a £247.50 discount making mine £750.50 or £1028.50, jointly for me and my Wife, ours will be cheaper than last season for the Premier League games.

For us its £997.50 each or £1297.50 if we want to include the 4 home champion league group games and anyone who had a physical card this season just gone will get one this time as well.

If only the season tickets weren't going up faster than everybody's pension funds!

People need to be investing their pension funds better then.

I read it.  I'm not that impressed.
I'm sure the fans in 1888 or Zone 1 seats will be happy, but £100 for CL tickets is still disgusting, as are Cat 1 ticket prices.

Interested how they intend to deliver this:

The aim will be to ensure loyalty continues to be a factor in accessing tickets, but also that every Member who wants to attend matches has the opportunity to do so during the season.

Hard to see how they can achieve both with the reduced capacity.

Fair play for the 25 quid cup prices.  I wonder if 30 quid and cheaper GA CL prices may have been better optics though.

I do find that you get a different mix of people in for the cup games. There is definitely a lot more people bring their kids, and you can tell a lot of people aren't those who go all the time, too.

I think keeping it low to encourage that is good, every kid should get to come and see the Villa now and then. Plus, you see a lot more club shop bags on those days, suggesting people are taking the opportunity get merchandise on their visit.

We need kids and younger people getting hooked on watching games in person, and not just on TVs and iPads.

Very true DT and all agreed.  I was just thinking an extra 5 quid on 37,000 cup tickets would have funded maybe a 30 quid decrease on the general admission CL tickets (as with reduced capacity there will only be 3 or 4k of those.  The club still looks good with cheap domestic cup game prices, but loses the negative headlines about £100 CL tickets.

But I guess they want to keep the precedent of premium prices for CL games going forward.

Years ago on this forum we would debate from morning to night how to get the next set of younger supporters engaged with the club. It was a concern as most supporters appeared to be in the 40+ bracket. I really don’t know if anything was done to hook the younger supporter or if indeed anything specifically was done but judging by the demographic I see now we look in good condition for the next generations coming through. Play Stations and X boxes haven’t taken the youth as was then envisaged. Season ticket demand and the odd trophy now and then and we’ll be good for years to come, nothing actually trumps being at the game if we’re winning and performing well.

They definitely seem confident that people are always going to pay through the nose for Champions League football.

The first time, I think people were excited and eager and happy to pay over the odds, not sure if we'd ever see it again. But the more we are in it, I am not sure how long that sentiment is going to last.

I should also add that paying top whack to see us play Bolognia isn’t so enticing as say top whack to see Real Madrid. If we continue to achieve CL qualification year on year then even that prospect will wane. They’re definitely making hay while the sun shines.

True.  But with the criteria for the Europa final tickets, people will be scared to miss games going forward.

I go to most cup games, which has always been enough as a ST holder.  But from now on I'll be extremely reluctant to miss even one, just in case.

In our last Champions League season, the Money League has our match day revenue at £80m, and only £9m less than Manchester City.

We've had two rounds of price increases since that season, plus the addition of the Warehouse and more GA+ options.

Newcastle's show as £68m for 2023-24, their last reported Champions League season (although they had less matches as they exited at the group stage). Interestingly, they also reported £68m for 2024-25, with no european football.

One day in the future maybe our commercial income will increase to the levels of the likes of Tottenham. At the last reporting our commercial income was €83m, compared to Spurs €330.

Start to eat into that and there's no need to charge silly money for tickets.

Yes, but both Chelsea and Man City have been propelled from average club to mega club status by their owners deep pockets. They haven't had to rely on fans footing the bill.

This is going to change with Chelsea, I'd put money on it. Their new owners are in it for profit, they're not going to bankroll them like Abromovic.

I really do think, in today's climate, with Americans buying up interest in football, that imagining clubs are going to ignore a potential source of revenue they could squeeze dry is very optimistic.

I’d say there are four fundamental pillars that we need to get right.

1) Broadcast income is going great guns.

2) Matchday income - we’re not a million miles behind some of the greedy 6, and we’re investing heavily to improve that.

3) If you lump in academy sales with player trading, we’re doing well there too. If Rogers is to become this year’s Grealish/Duran (not that I want him to be) we need to do a good job of re-investing the windfall, as well as maintaining our stellar record on free transfers.

4) Commercial income - you’re right Chris - is the game changer for us.

Above all, we need to sustain a competitive wage bill and keep Emery.

You say that, but I remember last time we were in the CL and people were talking about how our CL tickets were a quid a minute, Liverpool's were more like £60 a game. Now I know their fanbase are more likely to protest about prices, we've seen evidence of this recently, but equally, their owners will have realised that you can only rise prices so far. Once we have 52,000 seats at VP, our own owners are going to have to reconsider prices if they want VP filling because if they don't they won't come close to selling out.

Sounds like when they reorganised the Holte. You haven't actually changed position but the seating layout will have changed to squeeze more in. You will likely be sat next to the same peope as before but may find you have moved from a central seat to one in the aisle (or vice versa).

Then they reorganised the Lower Holte, my seat went from being close to one exit to being very close to another. Also, it seemed that other rows immediately in front and behind us had been moved in the opposite direction to our own, so that people we used to be able to have a chat with were now a good ten or so seats away.
Title: Re: Season Tickets - 2026/27

My assumption is that we'll be pushed sideways, taking up single seats & seats where there aren't currently season ticket holders. Creating empty seats in the central areas of the stand. Where they can charge members who buy on a match by match basis.

The club are also putting seats in where there's currently steps & reconfiguring the walkways. So I expect to move 4-5 seats towards the Holte End.

I too have had an email.
My understanding, from the little snippets in the planning documents and drawings, is that for most of us it will just be an increase in the row number, as they add 3-4 rows as the lower and middle are joined together.
The gangways will potentially be to/from the street level exits at the lower, with the middle exits removed and covered with extra seats. So any one in the Trinity Middle in line with the lower exits might have to move.
Also any one in the corner in front of the big screen / McGregor's Lounge will have to move to accommodate the new corner pavilion.

With so much going on I’ve not really managed to stay on top of this.
Had the “we are writing to inform you that the seats you currently occupy will be unavailable for the 2026/27 season” 4pm yesterday.

Obviously a tricky process for the club to manage so will try not to be overly dramatic & give it the “First they came for the Communists”

So we are family zone next to the tunnel, back of the lowest tier, it being about the best for kids to be close to the action/players coming and going, but not a worms eye view.
Not particularly happy we have to move.

Questions I’ll try and ask the club but any one any ideas?

Of the options offered, the drastic pausing for a year then offers not going back, but instead a North Stand seat,

1) this suggests ‘our’ seats are gone for good?

2) I know the tunnel was proposed to be moved, is this confirmed?

Being able to take our cheapest Zone 4 seats to Zones 3 or 2 at no extra cost is a small compensation but
3) the season after presumably they’ll then hit us for any cost increase and then we have to go back through the same reallocation lottery to try to get decent cheapest zone 4 seats?

Lots more questions I imagine but that’ll do for starters…

At this stage, as I don't really know where I'm being moved to, or if in reality I am being moved, I'm pretty relaxed about it as we we all know seat configoration changes will get some more seats available in what will be a difficult year for the club with the NS going.

Of course I reserve the right to moan like fuck if Im moved somewhere I don't like.

Has anyone in the central Lower Trinity (C4, C5) received an email from Villa about the new seating layout ?

I've tried getting info via AVFC Support on xTwit, but can't get a straight answer.

I'm hoping that the lack of communication means we're not being moved but...y'know....it's the Villa   ::)

They have added rows and rejigged the layout (not published yet) so you will have different seat number/row, but be broadly in the same location. That’s all we know

I'd guess that as some of us TRers have been told we are moving, then if you haven't been then you'll be ok.

Just trying to find out which sections we know are affected so far

Presumably not the section you're in, or they would have told you? You'd hope so, anyway...

On a side note, me dad has to move from the North for the season. He ideally wants somewhere people aren't going to be standing up in front of him all game as he isn't the most mobile. I have told him avoid the Lower Holte. Guessing anywhere other than lower tiers should be okay?

Central LTR would be a good location. Apart from goal celebrations, we tend to frown upon people standing up

It's also mostly free of singing/chanting, although it is a hotbed of sarcasm and bad puns relating to players' names (oh, how we miss Moritz Volz)

Would this be lower?

Looking for where to shift to from C8 family zone,

the request is for
•lower tier
•where people won’t stand up blocking a kids view,

for at least a season, unclear if we can get our seats back next season, unclear if tunnel moving as was suggested at one point etc etc.

One thing I will say Villa have done right is the lengthy initial renewal window for season tickets. At least it gives me time to clear off the credit card before it gets another hammering.

Don't you use the clubs interest free credit option?
I prefer to get it done and paid so I don't have to think about it again until the following summer.

Got our renewal in Trinity Road middle.  Row is KK (previously 32) and seat number is around 20 less than it was last season.  Cannot find anything about what that practically means re position.  Just the option to renew/release or wait.
Anyone found anything like a seating plan?

Seating plan is on if you click season tickets then "new seat".

If your seat numbers have changed but you haven't received an email to say you have to relocate, you should be more or less where you were based on what happened when they altered the Lower Holte layout, though you may have moved from the middle to an aisle or vice versa.

I was fortunate to have an aisle seat with no seat in front of me which allowed me to stretch out my legs and now I have no idea whether that is still the case although I somewhat doubt it. I remember the days when you could go down to VP and actually view and select your seat so you knew what you were paying for. I have been allocated Stand B1 Row AA Seat 3 which certainly implies to me that it is not even an aisle seat, can’t say I am very happy about that.

However when I select the two seats he might want, the system states he can't have two and select a different owner, but it seems his daughter is not set as owner or not letting me edit it. How do I link one ticket to her. She is in the friends and family section under "Group" option but not seeing anything obvious.

As a North Stander who has been evicted I gave myself plenty of time to reallocate and renew this morning. Got an aisle seat in B2 which should be fine. However, the "system" would not let me add the Champions League passage either in that seat or others that were available (it said "series not available").
After about 90 minutes I could eventually click on and add the CL bundle. Patience prevailed.

Wasted 2.5hrs, chumps league add on failed so hesitated on finance trying to contact club (lol), not realising finance was time sensitive*, so good seats chosen 0930 lost.
Next pair lost as it would not allocate on the same or multiple other devices.
Eventually got a pair in location not wanted, allocated, CL added (not sure what is to stop
Taking someone else’s seats?) and finance done.
1st world problems and all that but massive stress, lots could have been avoided with a movers window (and accessible support) before main renewals…
Clearly lots of bugs getting ironed out live, not good.

*there was a very clear description of time limit to complete finance sent *after* it was completed and all done. V12 were at least accessible on the phone to help me understand if she’s lost the tix I had hoped were still allocated.

I had this issue mid morning. Could allocate ok 0930 then after tix lost wouldn’t let me re-do for a couple of hours. I did it eventually on a different device but the error replicated on other devices so I don’t think that was the issue. Immensely stressful preferred seats slipping out of your grip due to ropey website I presume…

Yes. The staff when you get them are great and it’s not individuals who are at fault, especially re: clearly untested/not thought through trialled systems, but it’s not hard try to look after loyal customers you are messing about by creating a support opportunity before the main melee

Yeah, after all that I'm almost certain that they have simply renumbered my existing seat and we haven't actually moved at all. Less obvious is how we are going to get out as the plan doesn't show the gangway we have always used.

I was in B1 Seat 38, now I'm in seat 12, but on the seating plan it looks like it's more or less where I was. I think they've just re-jigged the rows and seat numbers, without actually changing the position of your seat.

Yeah, after all that I'm almost certain that they have simply renumbered my existing seat and we haven't actually moved at all. Less obvious is how we are going to get out as the plan doesn't show the gangway we have always used.
middle teir gangways and entrances have been moved.

Interesting - where have you learned that pls?

Yikes.

Encouraging people to spend more time (translation - money) at the ground as it’s a big revenue driver.

Aren't there some sort of regulations specifying number of exits per x number of seats?

Aren't there some sort of regulations specifying number of exits per x number of seats?

They've employed a Gangway Optimisation Model and calculated that they require fewer exits, due to people leaving early to beat the traffic.

Must be shit if you had an aisle seat to move to the middle of the row. Plus being moved from fans you sit close to. They havent attempted the upper witton yet, its probably unsafe to remove the walkways up there!

That's correct. I think they're replaced by the ones currently in the Lower Trinity, so I assume there will be approximately half as many exits/entrances as previous.
No doubt some will use this as an excuse to leave even earlier.

Seems like a stupid question but do Villa wipe the ST waiting list each season so they can charge a tenner again to put you back on it? Reason I ask is that I’m on it and it states

Number: 181***

Season: 2025-26 Season

…which kind of implies I’m on the waiting list for last season but not the forthcoming season.

I think they’ll leave you on it and that’s a one off admin charge but because membership is worth 100 points they’ll get their money that way. Otherwise no chance of progressing.

I think when they first launched them, they offered then to anyone regardless of place in the queue, and you lost your place in the queue if you gave them up.

So I suspect you can’t.

That's quite annoying. So I can be a member, attend every game as a GA season ticket holder, got to all European games, but go to the back of the queue for a normal season ticket. Doesn't add up somewhere missed 2 home games league and cup in 3 seasons and still not got to the front of the queue, and if I did I couldn't get one with my lad as he's missed 5 in that period due to work. Might be a bit easier after the North has been done I guess.

They might not release many this summer as they will want as many seats as possible to charge eye-watering match by match prices for.

This is definitely the season to get as many games under your belt as possible as there will be a big release for the new Dogtanian Stand opening.  :P

True, but they have said they will release some.  I would think someone who has missed two games in two seasons should have a very good chance of getting one of those.
