For me Emi Buendia in the league game at Spurs after the involvement from Matty Cash and Lucas Digne.
-
Youri Tielemans and Emi Buendis vs. Freiburg. Equal.
-
First goal in the final might edge it for me.
-
All of them.
-
Winner - Buendia v Freiburg
Nominees :
Buendia v Spuds away
Rogers v Spammers away
Rogers v Manure home
SJM v Plop home
Buendia v Bar codes away
Cash v Sunderland away
Kamara v Dingles home
We are a top top side. Thank you for the best season ever Villa!
-
Buendia v Spuds.
Outrageous 3 touches prior to him getting it and nailing the winner.
-
What with us being unsustainable this is really, really difficult this year.
Probably Buendia against..
...Tottenham.
-
Jimoh v Salzburg
-
Most enjoyable goal, Buendia vs Arsenal.
Best goal, Buendia vs Spurs
-
Sounds right to me.
-
Most enjoyable goal, Buendia vs Arsenal.
Best goal, Buendia vs Spurs
Same. The goal against Arsenal was my highlight of the season (in the league).
-
Hardest goal of the season competiton since 92-93.....Rogers vs United comes to mind. Buendia had 4-5 belters. I cant pick one.
-
Lucky to see Buendia and Onanas v Cherries
Oh and Ollie v Forest in the League.
The list of quality goals is impressive.
-
Another for Buendia v Spurs.
-
In addition to numerous good shouts already I think Rogers vs Spurs deserves a mention; the dip and swerve on that strike is incredible.
Buendia's 2nd in the final would've made this a very easy decision if he'd got it a couple of inches inside the post instead.
-
Youri in the final, narrowly ahead of Buendia vs Spurs.
-
Youri in the final, narrowly ahead of Buendia vs Spurs.
Youri is definitely the best of the goals in the final for me and is our best Europa goal. In the league there are 3-4 genuine stunners that are hard to pick between.
-
Spurs match is also in the MOTD Goal of the Season.
-
^^ Just voted for lil Emi.

It's pretty much a perfect goal.
It's clever, it's tactical, it requires difficult technical skill in two different areas (Youri's job more than Morgan's, obviously) both pulled off flawlessly, while also being our most important goal in four decades.
It's the brains of a fantastic coaching setup smashing into the ability of a fantastic set of players to pull the vision off.
Reckon I'd be arguing it as our best goal in decades, let alone just this season.
-

It's always been the ten winners of goal of the month, so it was always going to be there.
-

Best goal, Buendia vs Spurs
Can’t argue with that.
-
Pointing it out so people vote for it on here.

Yeah, well tricky this.
Rogers versus United to the extent that when the ball was played out to him, we had no right to expect anything else than a throw-in to United. Best individual goal for me, conjured up from thin air.
Buendia versus Spudz for similar reasons. Best collective goal. Cash’s pass was breathtaking. In another life, he played it back to Martinez, who punted it forward - and we were all happy enough with that.
Honorable mention in that category for Buendia versus Barcodes, for its training ground geometry - it was as though the Newcastle players weren’t even there.
It seemed to me that the most important goal (with regards to the balance of the game) was Ollie’s first against Forest.
Frankly, we had a ridiculous number of outstanding goals.
Jhon who?
-
Not picking one. Loved them all equally
-
Can vote for Emi here...

Bizot with a late contender for Save of the Season when we vote on those...
-
Recency and sheer utter glory bias but Youri’s in the final was immense. You could pick pretty much any of Buendia’s, several of Rogers’… McGinn’s against Liverpool was pretty special too.
-
I’ll go for Youri’s goal. No so much recency bias but that it was a magnificently designed play, executed to absolute perfection in the most pressurized circumstances of our first cup final in 30 years. A bullet volleyball into the bottom corner from a player that has a little history of scoring screamers in big finals. It set us for a massive cup win. A goal we will all remember forever.
-
Think the goal against Tottenham was the best of the Season.
Brilliant from all 3 players involved.
-
McGinn's first in the semi-final. The whole move epitomised how I want Villa to play and the finish was exquisite

Very good goal but gets marked down slightly by the fact that Forest decided they weren't going to bother marking him once we went 2-0 up.
-
Buendia’s against Freiburg, the moment when even the most pessimistic of us started to believe the thirty year wait was finally ending.
Most important could arguably be McGinn’s against Bologna, not a great game or performance but it got us moving again.
-
Buendia away at Newcastle was outstanding too. Has to be his goal v Freiburg, outstanding and clinched the game.

Good shout, that one at Newcastle had so much dip that I couldn't believe it wasn't deflected on the replay.
A word for both his and McGinn's knuckleball freekicks, very satisfying and make the keepers look like mugs.
-
Buendias first against Spurs in the Cup was a pretty special move and finish as well.
-
Tielemans in the final, technically the best.
Beundia in the final the most orgasmic and therefore the winner.
Beundia against Arsenal/McGinn for 3-0 in the semi final, drawing as influencing the most combustion.
-
I've never known a season where we've scored so many brilliant goals.
Like many I have to go for Buendia away at Spurs. Three individual pieces of pure skill and technique. poetry in motion.
One that hasn't been mentioned was Malen's first at home to Burnley. Brilliant in that he had no right to score it without the use of a slide rule. And there was me thinking only Brian Little did angles.

forgot about that one - ripped them apart straight through the middle

Amazingly, this goal did not make the Grauniad's Goals of the Season; shocking! A class goal.
-
All of Emi's cos he only scores screamers or winners and I love him.
But he invented the knuckle-ball or seemingly introduced it to England so for the innovation, I'll go for his free-kick v Bournemouth.
-

Rogers you mean?
-
Buendia's was first. Rogers said he copied him in training for his.

Yeah, but McGinn had nowt to do with it, right?

I did mean Rogers, yeah. No idea why I typed McGinn. Other than the reasonable assumption that, if it's the Villa and it's good, it's likely enough that McGinn was involved.
-
Buendia's goal away at Spurs in the league absolutely pisses this competition. No question.
-
Emi B's winner at home v Arse.
Not a worldie, or one of technicsl brilliance, but as the ball ping-ponged around the area, the way excitement/tension/exasperation increased by the millisecond was almost unbearable.
Then when the ball hit the back of the net, the eruption of sound around the ground and the way they slumped to the ground; put it on a level above others.
-
A few screamers

What a season!
Has to be Emi against Spurs. The pass, the control, the finish.
-
It's definitely that one.
-
For me Emi Buendia in the league game at Spurs after the involvement from Matty Cash and Lucas Digne.
Yup, that's the one.
-
It'll be a long time before any club has a goal of the season even close to that. Sensational.
Buendia at Spurs for me I think gets it..
But the Tielemans goal will be the goal that most of us will carry with us forever, and make the hair stand up on the back of our necks when we watch it again 20 years from now.
-
Top 2 and impossible to call a winner for me are the Buendia winner vs Spurs and Tielemaaaaans volley in the final. So many incredible goals this season obviously loads of screamers but also just some wonderful team goals (Watkins first against Bologna at home in QF also comes to mind). Another banger that hasn't been mentioned that I absolutely loved was Cashback against City115 with his left peg.
-
weve never scored a poor one,
-
I voted for Buendia in the final.
-
Didn't watch it but the PSG lad who scored the winning penalty
-
I voted for Buendia in the final.
Me too, apart from being a great goal, that was the moment I started to believe we’d win.
-
We scored some fantastic goals. Youri's goal against Freiburg, given the importance, the intellect of moving the opposition around and the fact it got us up and running in the final was brilliant and wins it for me. Second favourite was little Emi's goal at Spurs, the build up was quality. Really difficult to pick one from this season as there are so many crackers.
-
Best season for goals since 92/93 when we seemed to score a banger every month.
-
Buendias first against Spurs in the Cup was a pretty special move and finish as well.
Yes, I expected that to be included.
