As long we don't slap in a comedy 40 yard own goal we should be fine.

Is it 1995 the last time we won away at Forest in the premier league? If so that needs to change on Sunday. I'm a bit fed up of these bogey away teams we seem to be collecting.

Conversely they've beaten us twice there in the PL.

We'll ignore that it was our last two visits though!

Reckon a crazy score draw between 2 teams knackered from travelling to the continent in the week...

Isn;t it a bit early to start a thread on the Europa League semi-final? Let's get past Bologna first.

Playing each game on its merits, a draw would be a reasonabĺe result here.

The Guardian have given Forest the advantage, claiming that because we didn't make many changes in Italy, we'll arrive "jaded". Had we lost I might agree but I'd be certainly pointing it out to the players if I were the Manager.

I can see changes, perhaps Dougie might get a start and prove a point but I don't want to see Bailey in the side. We never seem to deal with their up and at 'em style so Mings might feature rather than Pau or, bearing in mind last night, Emery may go with the same team and look at changes next Thursday.

We've had results go our way recently so we have that cushion and I'd like that cushion to be retained and even plumped up somewhat by Sunday evening.

0-1

Emery has to make changes for sure though a two goal advantage for the following game puts us in a strong spot. Very surprised Luiz saw no game time last night and Barkley was very good v West Ham. One of them will come in next to Onana I expect with Tielemans further forward. Maatsen for Digne. Maybe a change at centre back too, my preference would be for Lindelof instead of Konsa rather than Mings for Torres. Rogers should be dropped but won't be, Buendia most likely. I guess Bogarde could come in for Cash at a stretch but hopefully not.

You'd imagine DL will be well up for this one having spent so much time on their bench.

They've won 1 of their last 10 home games in all comps.

Fun fact, they haven't won a league game against anyone not from London for over 4 months. Their wins in that time were Spurs, West Ham, Spurs again.

Yep they struggle to score, but they don’t typically lose at home I don’t think.

You're not tired when you win. Ollie said he could play another 90 minutes in his interview on the pitch after the game last night.

No excuses, it's time we beat them up in the Àlex Moreno/Steve Stone derby.

Haven’t beaten them at the city ground since they came back up, time for that to change and I think it will.
I really doubt we’ll see loads of changes now, its more about the timing of the subs.

Martinez
Cash
Konsa
Torres
Maatsen
Onana
Tielemans
McGinn
Watkins
Rogers
Beundia

Dougie and Barkley to replay Youri and McGinn on 60ish mins, Bailey will probably come on for Emi B.

2-1 us (Watkins 2)

Their pitch always seems to play tight, lots of physical contests all over the pitch. Might not suit the likes of Barkley and definitely not Bailey. They seemed to rotate their squad more than us last night, MGW getting hooked early, CHO not used. Forest are in a false position with their players I think v West Ham for example who have very little quality. Forest have been spectacularly mismanaged this season but have some very good players. Going to be a tough game but when it opens up we have the quality to take advantage.

Odd that as before standardised pitches where possible, I'm sure The City Ground was the widest pitch in England. You can still see it with the large distance between touchline and dugouts.

There isn't a team in the league that is more reliant on one player than Forest. So, of course he is back just on time to play us after six months out. Would start Mings against that thug.

Reading some of their comments they sem to be banking on us being tired having played our 1st team last night, which is a bit of a desservice to our record after European games this season and the fact we've not played beforehand.

I honestly don't see fatigue being an issue for us at all, if anything last night was an excercise in getting back up to speed after the break.

We'll need to be at it, and it might be a game for Pau to sit out but personally in favour of Lindelof. They've got some good players but they're where they are because they're mostly shite and last season was a bit of an aberration in the grand scheme of things.

Expect Pau won’t play, or Onana.

Hoping for a controlled schooling of the Newcastle post-Fener ilk. Now is our time.

We play totally different away in Europe, always well within ourselves and with a total utilitarian style. That second half burst was all we needed. We've yet to lift a finger, let alone clench the fist in anger.

Yep. Forest fans haven’t done their homework. Conserve energy, contain the opposition and dictate the pattern of play is what we do. Yes, we rode our luck at times but I fully expect them all to be fully focused for Sunday. Watkins to get his 100th goal for Aston Villa.

I’ve just seen online we haven’t won there since Big Ron, however I guess that’s because we haven’t played them an awful lot. The team Ron picked though was something else! It looked like 5,1,4

The way Forest used to under their greatest ever manager. Some of the older ones should know better.

For a minute I thought that was a clear picture for 1993. Then I saw a young McGinn!

Well, just shows kids, don’t believe everything you read on the World Wide Web.

Remember it clearly. It was a few days after we beat Blues, when Grealish got thumped and scored, the Forest game was probably the 3rd or 4th game in the 10 game run and the play offs were starting to come into view.

Derby, Blues, Forest, Boro, Blackburn, Rotherham, Wednesday, Brizzle C, Millwall, Bolton. What a lovely March and April that was. From 13th (?) to comfortably finishing in the playoff spots.

I don't know about you but I don't mention to Blues fans that the Cnuthead who hit Grealish from behind was the sliding doors moment of all sliding door moments.

Well, not very often.
