It's rather upsetting having to cheer on Manchester United

We had better win this. But with the new manager bounce...

Think this will be an edgy away win with a Euro hangover . 0-1 away win.

This is a potential banana skin - new (old) manager, post Euro hangover. If we play to our ability we’re obviously much better, but we need to turn up.

I was really hoping Southampton wouldn't be down by this fixture, as it so often happens that teams start playing a bit more freely once the inevitable has actually happened.  And they'll also have the potential bounce of a new face (existing coach) in the dugout.

I'd expect an improvement from them on recent performances,  but hopefully not enough to deprive us of a win.  We can't let the Champions League derail our season.   The good news is we have a lot of fresh legs to pick from, so tiredness should not be a big factor.

I actually think it works in our favour, they're 'free' to play more openly and we'll enjoy more space as a result.

The contrast could not be greater between arguably the smoothest, quickest team in Europe to the disaster that is the worst team in the PL. We just need to be 100% focused and professional and not take anything for granted and batter them.

It’s been a while, a long long while, but I’ll be at the match. A 50th birthday treat from my kids. The tickets came through today. However I’m not sure if I will let my daughter who arranged it know, but I’m in the home stand. She thought she got me an away ticket. I did wonder how that would be possible! Anyway, I still can’t wait, I’ll just have to behave!

Up to ten changes possibly, and we still should be good enough. Some players’ last chance for a rest considering the next four games, but at least we’ve had that March mini-break and comfortable games v Preston and Brighton. Our freshness and eagerness of players to make their mark could be to our advantage.

Bailey’s fit again isn’t he?

I’ve got a couple of tickets in the home end as well, they went on general sale last week, I think we should be near the away fans, but we’ll be sat on our hands in the game.

I hadn’t realised they would be relegated if they lost last week, but not sure it will make much difference to their fans outlook on the game.

As a firm believer in sequences I was fearful that a positive result in France would mean the first setback in quite some time on the South Coast. That ship has now sailed so back to winning ways, a much changed side and a boost in the League ahead of Tuesday.

Despite Weds result I still believe we have momentum, there were plenty, including myself who feared a battering in Paris and it could still happen in the second leg but we are facing up to arguably, the best team in Europe in the QF of the CL. No-one really thought we'd get that far and even an exit next week will see us holding our heads high.

We are in the midst, and will continue with a rollocking good finish to the season.

1-4

Southampton have been shyte but we will still have to work hard to get the 3 points. No complacency.

They are fighting for points to avoid being recorded as the 'worst Premier League team ever'. That's a distinction no player wants hanging around their neck.

0-2 to the boys in Claret and Blue.

Yup, I've made a last-minute decision to do the same. Most of my earliest Villa supporting was from the home end at Highfield Road, so should be a nice easy "quiet supporting" introduction for my seven year old.

Taking my 18 year old lad down with me for his first away game but we are in the home section (Chapel End/Family Section) near to the Away End. So we'll be undercover and sitting on our hands. Looks a great day weather wise too - where do the Villa normally congregate for a pre-match pint. I used to live by the old Dell and remember Bedford Place was popular back then but it's about half an hour walk from the new ground.
