Title: Assistance from the Villa brethren
Post by: remy on February 11, 2025, 01:10:42 PM
Hi my sister married a London based scouse supporting plank. Her 2 boys now 18 are Special needs and they support both Villa (because of me) and the 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' sometimes. Their mother begged me to get tickets for their first ever match. Why not at Football's greatest cathedral!
As part of their care, I am going to drop off, collect and feed them but I am not actually going in with them - their older brother will.

When the match starts can anyone recommend where I can hang out near the ground until full time and then escort them safely back to the car and home.  I have promised their mam as part of their care. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

The Tesco has a cafe . The Witton arms is £3 ,entry you have to get a stamp. Both are as near to the ground as I can think of. Your going to have to pay for parking if you want somewhere near the ground.

If you don't mind a bit of a walk mate, One Stop Shopping Centre is not too far.  Not the greatest place, but usual big retail outlets and places to eat and drink.

Get a taxi from there and back, one stop does have a parking time limit, although someone may know about the details, you also got the Aston social club, you can park in there, maybe £10 charge and it's near to the motorway

I always use justpark.com when I come to B6, Remy. You should find someone renting out their drive for the afternoon that's convenient for both Villa Park and somewhere to twiddle your thumbs for 90mins.

Thanks for the suggestions chaps. One Stop unfortunately shuts at 8pm on a Weds (day of the match).
I have a place to park though, been going now for 25 years in the same spot :-). My backup plan is to sit in the car with some chips and a river on my phone and wait my ass for them. Things an uncle does for his nephews!

I was going to suggest the Aston Social. You'd be able to catch the game as well if its on the tellybox.

One of the reasons I cannot go is also the price of the ticket. Me and Remy Jnr shot our wads on Arsenal, Palace, Spammers, Wolves, Bayern and Celtic (lifetime memories worth every penny those CL) but leaves nowt in the fund for the p l o p match. The way Im feeling after our performance against Spuds, I feel we can beat anyone at VP. If we produce a long awaited win over this smug lot, tears of joy but also the pain I wasn't there.

The shops at One Stop close at 8pm on a Wednesday but KFC and Nandos are open until 10pm. In any case the car park stays open and loads of fans park there whichever time we kick off.
