Anyone just watched this shit. How fucking disrespectful were they about Watkins and Villa.
And Merson, what a bellend. Really gone down in my estimation.
But sky they actually showed a film reel of Emery saying Watkins is happy and he is not for sale would they be doing this on any of the scum 6
Boilsmy piss
-
Errrrr… don’t watch it then, there is an off button.
-
I don't ever watch these Sports Shows. I just have Podcasts on that are what I know will be a decent listen. Fuck Sky.
Dodgy stick all day long.
-
Errrrr… don’t watch it then, there is an off button.
Better than promoting it on a forum.
-
In their heads we are still cannon fodder, but a change is going to come…
-

Agree. Anyone that watches SSN and listens to Talksport shouldn't be surprised they get annoyed by the content.
-
They would like every player at every club to move only because every show, website and social media platform in monetized. Apart from paying Sky for my live football content I would love the Premier League to create Netflix like platform/app at some point in the near future and I can end having to watch Micah Richards on there.

Yeah, I really don't understand it. It's their M.O.
-
I think SSN is a bit up from TalkSport, to be fair. They're generally reporting things that have at least a shred of truth to them. Arsenal clearly are interested in signing Watkins, saying so on a transfer show doesn't seem unreasonable. TalkSport is just the national radio version of the Birmingham Mail, it only exists to gain attention by irritation.
I've no desire to watch/listen to either, though. If I want to know who Villa might sign, I look at the transfer speculation thread. If I want to know who we aren't signing, I look at the player threads that Toronto Villa has started.
-
I stopped watching ssn after they sacked le tissier nicholas and Thompson. Its just lame now
-
Still, football's loss was medical science's gain.
-
SSN is up from Talksport, but if you get annoyed by people saying "Arsenal are bigger than Villa, he should go there", which a lot of pundits will say, then just don't bother watching. I just stick to people telling me what Tanswell, Percy and Ornstein are saying.
-

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised , not on sky anyway. Our games are TNT & Amazon.
-

Hahaha. They were just irreplaceable, weren't they? I'm still yearning.

Let me know when he gets onto Diego Carlos and the Style Council.

I was disappointed in Merson who I thought really “got” us when he played here.
However he’s taken the Sky shilling and has forgotten his time at Villa Park. I watched the show for about 30 minutes and i thought Merson was a tarquin c*nt.

Haha. This has to be satire.

What did he say that’s so awful? genuine question as I didn’t watch it.

I loved watching them. They were absolutely hilarious together with stelling. Now its just a bunch of individuals with zero chemistry
-
Life is much better when you don't give Sky your money.
-
Avoid the yellow ticker bollocks now, as all they've done this year especially is try & engineer links with very little if any truth behind them. Sky know if the big 6 get bigger, they sell more subscriptions. The act of almost driving Watkins themselves to Arsenal is very poor indeed, & having just read Merson's comments is really, really getting my goat.
Would any sensible person really think any club would sell their 2 main goalscorers? It's like selling both your kidneys.
-

Basically implying Unai was lying and Ollie would be gone by Monday. That he had to step up because Arsenal are a bigger Club. That the bid would never have been made unless Ollie indicated he wanted to go there.
-
Thing is Ollie might be interested in going there, but there’s a difference between that and actively pushing for a move.

They didn't sack anyone, just didn't renew their contracts. Although Le Tissier probably would have been shoved out about 4 years ago anyway the conspiracy loon.
-
After spending a month telling anyone who will listen that we can’t possibly have two strikers and have to sell one, I guarantee the narrative will now be we don’t have the squad depth in the striker positions.
-
Merson can fuck off the crack head.
-
I stopped watching ssn after they sacked le tissier nicholas and Thompson. Its just lame now
Makes you think.
-
Merson is only saying what a lot of people think - "mad not to go to title challengers" etc. It's not a surprising view just because he has played for us and likes us. They talk as if Villa haven't got a say in the matter sometimes, that baffles me a bit. It doesn't really matter, we're not selling both our main strikers in any window, let alone January.

Yeah, I don't think there's any conspiracy involved, but the fact is that since football - and English football, specifically - became a global phenomenon, the media has been incentivised to perpetuate a narrative that certain clubs belong in certain places within an historically established pecking order.
The clubs that found themselves in powerful positions when football was established in 1992, and for the following few years, are beneficiaries of that.
The way it was in 1992-2000 is the way it always must've been. We have benefited from that as well. Which is why a player choosing to sign for Leeds or Sheffield Wednesday over us would be laughed at.
It's not some weird way of keeping clubs down, it's just that certain things reinforce the narrative (Villa being a second tier club who sell their best players when top tier clubs ask) that has worked in making the PL the most successful domestic league in the world, and some things don't (Villa telling top tier clubs trying to steal our players to fuck off).
It isn't a conspiracy to fuck us over. It is merely that the narrative that has grown from the PL is based on a pecking order where Arsenal fuck Villa.
These pundits and commentators don't really care either way. It's just that Villa refusing to be fucked bucks the trend.
-

That’s to their credit. All 3 belonged to the Mesozoic era.
-
Too knackered to comment 😤I am going back to sleep

I know there is an off button but for the money people pay sky you would think they would be more balanced.
Every news section is dominated by trying to sell the big nosed waster at the red filth.
You cannot help but feel we are under represented to the point it seems almost deliberate.

That's an excellent summing-up of the whole scenario Rory.
Pretty much how I see it.

It's a promotional channel for their product, no requirement for balance, nuance or anything else.
Fork out or fuck off.

Don’t be fooled by the “news” bit in their name. It’s a commercial operation and their objective is to make money.

I mean, that's just a completely normal nose isn't it?

Hookey does appear to have a bit of a Man Utd obsession to be fair.
-
I think there is a wider anti-midlands bias and definitely an anti Birmingham bias. It's either obvious in constantly portraying people with a midlands accent as thick or just bias by omission. What national presenters of anything have a clear West or East midlands accent. Plenty of Scots, London/Essex, Manchester and Scouse but a gaping whole in the middle of the country. Even people like Lineker, a Leicester lad sounds more London now. Was it coached out of him to get on ?
-
You've nailed it there. They're all against us. Now we just need to work out why.
-
(As a relative outsider I think it's a fair observation that the BBC types have very little regard for Birmingham and WM in general.)
-
What's there to regard? What do people want to see them doing, advertorials for the delights of relocating from Kensington to Walsall?!
-
Yeah, and I still remember the time they deliberately doctored a picture of Birmingham to make it look greyer, the twats.
-
I remember an article in the Evening Standard when Ginola joined us that was downright insulting about the city and people of Birmingham. These days it's more that anywhere between Cheshire and St Alban's just doesn't exist.
-

The big bull thing in new st station, ffs, why are they not talking about that, its bloody iconic. Bastards

In my new stadium daydream, Comcast use our stadium and their contacts to relocate Sky Sports to part of the new ground, partially funding the (re)development.
We’d suddenly become the centre of the pundit’s world and they’d hate it.
-
Hookey does appear to have a bit of a Man Utd obsession to be fair.
More like a pathological hatred.
As for Birmingham bashing it might help if the wankers could pronounce its name properly...the amount of them that refer to it as Birminum boils my piss. And they say we are thick!
-

Ha, it's not that, it's that the region is very populous and I think generally treated as if it didn't exist. Look at slobber all over the shoes of Red Wallers and the Scotch over the last decade, compared to a region which has more Westminster seats than either of those. You can just see it quite plainly.
-

How much attention do you reckon we get in the south-west? You don't see us bleating about it. We're far too cool for that.

Yes. And again, I'd ask what sort of coverage people expect. There are trees on the line outside Kings Norton? Bromsgrove has a new Nando's? What should be making the news and isn't?
-
The Sky Sports Transfer Show are still trying to sell Ollie to Arsenal!

Good idea. I’ll get on that right away
-
Just waiting for the Talkshite knobheads to start their usual
"Why's he gone to Villa, surely he could have got a better move?" bollocks.
-
I love thinking about what they might say. It's definitely healthy for the mind.
-
Anyone watching the final half hour of the Sky Sports news show?
-
Probably
-
Do you prefer Kaveh or Dharmesh ?
-
It's disappointing we didn't get Tel like Dharmesh is saying Villa were one of the clubs he would have preferred.
Yes I think Dharmesh is more knowledgeable as he had heard of Tel unlike Kaveh
Tel is outstanding potential for me.
-
Tel is quality, but he's not what we needed in this window. I wonder if we'll look again in the summer.
-
The famous deal sheet.
Between 9pm -11pm have to sign a document for a transfer to still happen after 11pm
Interesting.
-
So the team that has 115 charges pending for breaking financial rules spend £180m in this window.
Sky proudly add they have spent more this window that the combined total of all prem clubs last Jan.
What a genius Fraudiola is

You beat me to it. They've been allowed to use the cheat code again and Pep will be lauded as a genius when they lift the latest trophy to be purchased using the oil money. With 115 seemingly allowed to circumvent the rules I'm surprised Newcastle haven't done the same.
-
Dawson and Morrison said that Villa had the best transfer window.
-
Man Utd have played a blinder, I must say. They're all rubbish anyway but it looks like they've not replaced any of the attacking players they've let go.
-
Has Felix to Milan officially happened?
-
Nope. Chilwell to Palace has.
-
I hope Felix gets stuck there and never plays for them again.
-
That was my thinking too. And I hope Emery moves on now, it's getting embarrassing.
-
How Is that 115 court case going , taking longer than the OJ case
-

If this keeps up, clubs will be spending a lot more on lawyers.
-
From BBC
AC Milan have announced four deals (in and out) in the past 90 minutes but none have been Joao Felix.
-
On SSN, the deal sheet has been designated as the deadly deal sheet.
-
The poor woman standing in the cold on Witton Lane near The Holte End was just on and she still doesn't know that the deal is done despite it being confirmed on their ticker for the last 10 minutes.
-
You've nailed it there. They're all against us. Now we just need to work out why.
The BBC definitely is, there is absolutely no doubt about that. It gets 25% of the total license fee from ‘the midlands’ and spends something like 2% of its total budget here.
Pebble Mill used to second only to London in importance. Now it’s a dental hospital.

Most importantly, they should be spending the appropriate portion of their budget here. Something a lot closer to the 25% they get.
Lots of taxation, no representation.
