Happy enough with the starting line-up, thought the bench would be stronger (and older).

Holy moly, that's a second string bench for sure.

We should still win this but the starters are going to have to get it done.

It's the anniversary of Wycombe's first ever match, which was 24/9/1887. Hopefully we piss on their party.

Ugh, can't believe we've brought in Kiefer Moore. For a big lad he's got a decent first touch but then we thought the same about Grant Holt that one time.

Happy with both thre team and the bench, should be strong enough to get us through but also give so really useful senior experience to a few players who might be useful as the season progresses.

Would have liked a stronger bench, but perhaps best to give them a complete rest... so long as we win. Chance for some of the peripheral players and babbies to impress. COYVB.

Barkley, Duran, Buendia, Maatsen, Kosta and Bogarde starting is what I wanted to see.

Should be enough to see us win. It had better be because the bench is a little raw to say the least.

Looks ike the 11 have to do it as not much to come on to change it .

Most of our starting 11 will be playing a fair old part as we chase success in the PL and CL this season. If they can't comfortably see off third tier reserves we may have a bit of a problem.

Yep, I was hoping they might make it as it's the bestoption to get them some 'easier' minutes int the legs. Hopefully they'll be ready to join the squad in the next round so long as we do the business tonight.

Keeping players like them around to only get minutes in league cup would be really unhelpful for their development. They're playing way more minutes where they are now

To be honest Maasten is bloody good

Ned could be class in years to come .

Buendia is good , Duran is class , Onana is awesome,  Bailey is class and Barkley is going to have an excellent season and JJ to come on who will be england squad by the summer 2025.

so yes good enough.

Happy with that line up overall based on season so far, those needing some more game time and balanced with those we need to most protect.

Good chance for all defenders to stake their case as they'll get chances as season progresses in bigger games

I wonder how much Emery ever wants to win these matches. Citeh and Chelsea (and Liverpool) can play weakened teams with lots of kids and they still want to go out and win. We do it and the few senior players picked seemed peed off and the kids don't step up to try to impress.

Although unfair on Emery, it has been a reoccurring thing since we started to play "weakened" teams in the cup.

It's often the way with these matches, you look at the players involved, on the edge of the first team in most cases and think they'll do a job. But put a team of odds and sods together who've never played before and they look ragged. Mind you, Wycombe could probably say the same.

Although he would also be starting with Rogers, Tielemans, Torres and probably JJ to take any pressure off him solely for attack. Although he has snatched at his chances compared to what we know he can do, there is nothing else happening in attack.

Something I think Gauci could do with improving (from the limited times I’ve seen him) is shouting and organising when a ball goes out. I imagine it’ll come with experience and age, but I’ve noticed he doesn’t immediately bounce into geeing up the defence and telling them where to be.

The defence did OK tonight, until the last five minutes. It's a lesson they need to learn quickly, you concentrate from first minute to last. Bogarde did some great stuff and some terrible stuff in equal measure. Ned looks very good. I'm sure the plan would have been to put Carlos in there with 30 mins to go.
