Win please.
-
Bloody hell that was quick mate.
-
Happy enough with the starting line-up, thought the bench would be stronger (and older).
-
Bloody hell that was quick mate.
Bet he got Oasis tickets as well
-
Bloody hell that was quick mate.
Bet he got Oasis tickets as well
His girlfriend's not that impressed though.
-
Holy moly, that's a second string bench for sure.
We should still win this but the starters are going to have to get it done.
-
Nice comfortable win please.
-
It's the anniversary of Wycombe's first ever match, which was 24/9/1887. Hopefully we piss on their party.
-
Ugh, can't believe we've brought in Kiefer Moore. For a big lad he's got a decent first touch but then we thought the same about Grant Holt that one time.
-
Good team selection , pragmatic and sensible . Big night for Bogarde and Swinkels in the middle
-
Rested: Emi, Konsa, Pau, Digne, Rogers, Tielemans, Watkins
Injured: Cash, Mings, Kamara, McGinn, Philogene
Have I missed anyone?
-
5-0 Villa.
Big D hat-trick.
FTF.
-
Been any information on what s the situation with Philogene?
-
Happy with both thre team and the bench, should be strong enough to get us through but also give so really useful senior experience to a few players who might be useful as the season progresses.
-
Bloody hell that bench is alot weaker than i expected.
No mings or kamara as expected
-
Been any information on what s the situation with Philogene?
Was injured for last Saturday.
-
Wow, more changes than I expected. Still a good side, guess I'm just a bit shocked to see THAT much rotation!
-
Would have liked a stronger bench, but perhaps best to give them a complete rest... so long as we win. Chance for some of the peripheral players and babbies to impress. COYVB.
-
Great to have Buendia back
-
Barkley, Duran, Buendia, Maatsen, Kosta and Bogarde starting is what I wanted to see.
Should be enough to see us win. It had better be because the bench is a little raw to say the least.
-
A shame Mings and Kamara not ready yet!
-
This would have been perfect game and competition for illing jr and enzo to start
-
A shame Mings and Kamara not ready yet!
Yeah shame maybe we will see them in the next round
-
Eight changes for Wycombe.
-
Is that big lad up front still at Wycombe
-
The team I thought other than Onana , thou dont know any young midfielders who could come in like a Enzo.
Looks ike the 11 have to do it as not much to come on to change it .
-
Like it - should have enough to be comfortable - and a good opportunity for minutes for some. win please UTV!
-
Is that big lad up front still at Wycombe
If you mean Akinfenwa, no.
-
Is that big lad up front still at Wycombe
If you mean Akinfenwa, no.
yeah thats him
-
Is that big lad up front still at Wycombe
If you mean Akinfenwa, no.
yeah thats him
He retired after the League 1 play-off final in 2022 apparently.
-
Wow, more changes than I expected. Still a good side, guess I'm just a bit shocked to see THAT much rotation!
That was my reaction to seeing that line-up
-
Eight changes for Wycombe.
Blimey - does that mean they're weaker tonight than normal?
-
Is that big lad up front still at Wycombe
If you mean Akinfenwa, no.
yeah thats him
He retired after the League 1 play-off final in 2022 apparently.
ah right cheers, i bet Swinkels is relieved
-
Wow, more changes than I expected. Still a good side, guess I'm just a bit shocked to see THAT much rotation!
Same.
-
Most of our starting 11 will be playing a fair old part as we chase success in the PL and CL this season. If they can't comfortably see off third tier reserves we may have a bit of a problem.
-
A shame Mings and Kamara not ready yet!
Yep, I was hoping they might make it as it's the bestoption to get them some 'easier' minutes int the legs. Hopefully they'll be ready to join the squad in the next round so long as we do the business tonight.
-
This would have been perfect game and competition for illing jr and enzo to start
Keeping players like them around to only get minutes in league cup would be really unhelpful for their development. They're playing way more minutes where they are now
-
Is that big lad up front still at Wycombe
If you mean Akinfenwa, no.
No Essandoh for them either, which is a plus.
-
if High Wycombe have made 8 changes may i suggest they aren't taking this too seriously either
-
To be honest Maasten is bloody good
Ned could be class in years to come .
Buendia is good , Duran is class , Onana is awesome, Bailey is class and Barkley is going to have an excellent season and JJ to come on who will be england squad by the summer 2025.
so yes good enough.
-
if High Wycombe have made 8 changes may i suggest they aren't taking this too seriously either
Who are they playing?
-
Looking forward to seeing Emi from the start and we shall see if Duran is disciplined to lead the line from the start rather than being an impact player
-
That was the line up I was expecting, hat trick for big Jhon.
-
Happy with that line up overall based on season so far, those needing some more game time and balanced with those we need to most protect.
Good chance for all defenders to stake their case as they'll get chances as season progresses in bigger games
-
5-0 Villa.
Big D hat-trick.
FTF.
1-0 will do me.
-
if High Wycombe have made 8 changes may i suggest they aren't taking this too seriously either
Six injuries, two additional changes, so not sure they're not taking it seriously, just acting according to necessity.
-
That was the line up I was expecting, hat trick for big Jhon.
First half - one from Emi B, then bring on the kids for 2nd half
-
I hope some of the subs actually get on. We'll need to be able to dip into the reserves at some point during the season, would be good to know that some of them are ready for it, especially in more important matches.
-
Bloody hell, Sky have got their pundit A Team out for this one..
-
Bloody hell, Sky have got their pundit A Team out for this one..
I was just about to comment. The bloke with the curtains is the most lucid. Who’s the moron on the left?
-

What’s more important than a cup tie?
-
Chelsea and 115C winning so no shock there….do I not like that.
-
Interesting Broggio picked instead of the scoring machine Rory as reserve striker
-
Interesting Broggio picked instead of the scoring machine Rory as reserve striker
Isn’t Broggio a winger?
-
Hang on a minute, they just said Wycombe have made 8 changes from the weekend. Are they not taking it seriously either or did they rest at the weekend?
-
What has happened to Olsen? Gauci firmly the number two now?
-
Looking at the starting line-ups of the other teams and we are 3rd in cost on the field. Chelsea will be first. And these are all mostly changed from the weekend starting eleven.
-
Ollie would have scored that
-
Duran misses a pretty straightforward one-on-one after 30 seconds
-
Ooooh. Would have put my mortgage on Duran then.
-
Impressive start from Bogarde.
-
commentator is 30 seconds behind ffs
-
End to end
-
Man City already 1-0 up, Chelsea 2-0 up. Emery out.
-
Onana down
-

Carlos injured before the game?
-
or just not risking him.....
-
Carlos is so injury prone
-
or just not risking him.....
But why name him in the first place?
-
or just not risking him.....
But why name him in the first place?
And apart from getting a numb arse, being on the bench isn't much of a risk.
-
Anyone notice him in the warmup beforehand. More likely he tweaked something and then "not risked".
-
Barkley has misplaced 3 passes so far tonight.
-
Ross what you doing!
-
Surely 72 is our highest ever starting number?
-
Back four is a combined age of 80 with Maatsen being the oldest at 22.
-
Not great defensively so far.
-
Wycombe have had 3 reasonable chances so far.
-
Back four is a combined age of 20
Bloody Hell, that's ridiculous!
-
Back four is a combined age of 20 with Maatsen being the oldest at 22.
We're playing 5 year olds?
-
Three saves already for Gauchi. Nothing tricky, but feels like that's more than it should be after eleven minutes against Wycombe reserves.
-
Back four is a combined age of 20
Bloody Hell, that's ridiculous!
Fixed now.
-
Back four is a combined age of 20
Bloody Hell, that's ridiculous!
I mean, there was a few people calling for giving the youth a run out but that seems a bit disrespectful
-
Back four is a combined age of 20 with Maatsen being the oldest at 22.
We're playing 5 year olds?
One of them is minus 4 years old, the other two one year old
-
How many times have we played successive games against clubs who's initials are WWFC?
-
How many times have we played successive games against clubs who's initials are WWFC?
We used to quite often play Wolves back to back over Christmas, so a few times I reckon. Must have had a few cup replays, too...
-
Anyone notice him in the warmup beforehand. More likely he tweaked something and then "not risked".
Just said on Sky he was injured in the warm up.
-
Good experience for the defence, hopefully they can adapt quickly. If Bogarde and Swinkels can become useful backup options it adds a lot of extra depth.
I hope we get to see Patterson, Broggio and Moore later as well.
-
Stop showing fecking Chelsea!
-
Tell them to stop scoring then and us to start scoring.
-
How many times have we played successive games against clubs who's initials are WWFC?
Also wondering what our record is for consecutive games against Wanderers-es are. Must’ve played Bolton and Wolves one after another before … 3 in a row seems achievable…
-
A bit pants so far.
-
I like the look of Kaden Young
-
How many times have we played successive games against clubs who's initials are WWFC?
We used to quite often play Wolves back to back over Christmas, so a few times I reckon. Must have had a few cup replays, too...
I meant separate clubs ;D
-
Some pretty sloppy passing.
-
Oh JD
-
A number of passes short of the mark
-
I can't believe Wycombe have sponsored dugouts and we don't. What the fuck are you playing at, Heck?
-
As a spectacle, this is not a spectacle.
-
Duran’s movement looks good and we’re finding him.
-
At least we will probably have another Chelsea or Man City goal to enjoy, soon.
-
Durán looking very ordinary.
-
Gauci our MOTM so far.
-
Buendia needs to get more involved, he should be the one getting on the ball and creating things.
Defence seems to have got a bit of a handle on the ball down the channel though so we're looking much more controlled.
-
Durán looking very ordinary.
Turned into Watkins
-
There big fucking lump of a centre half could hurt someone here. Need our players to play around him.
-
The team is playing like they have never played together before🤷🏽♂️
-
Really quite stodgy.
-
Cherry Red Records, are they still going?
-
Very Disjointed as to be expected.
Onana and Buendia very quiet.
Barkley sloppy
-
Shows how much Torres and Tielemans makes us tick.
-
Gaucho…FFS
-
Cherry Red Records, are they still going?
Stadium sponsor of AFC Wimbledon
-
Typical Villa cup performance this. Disjointed.
-
Boy this is tedious.
-
bloody ell Leon thats more like Bill Bailey
-
Emery checking team sheet to find out who’s playing.
-
Started poorly and have deteriorated since.
-
Nobody really shining here tonight so far.
-
Our senior players are all off it here.
-
Too many players off it.
We keep playing like this we lose.
-
The problem is that the senior players aren't leading things well enough, Buendia, Bailey and Barkley have all been poor so far.
-
Cherry Red Records, are they still going?
Stadium sponsor of AFC Wimbledon
Nice a real blast from the past there on his jacket. Malvern's finest.
-
Alan Smith weckons we have no withum, and he ain't wrong.
-
A weakened team often results in players taking too many touches and the team palying at too slow a tempo. Emi & Bailey have been very poor.
-
Why are we risking injury prone Bailey?
-
Fair to say that no one is doing much so far to stake a claim for a league or CL start.
-
Injury prone? Didn't miss much last season did he?
-
If that's a foul, so was the one on Buendia thirty seconds earlier.
-
Great movement from Ned there, best bit of play from us so far.
-
Fair to say that no one is doing much so far to stake a claim for a league or CL start.
That includes Durán and Barkley….,and Onana
-
Bloody hell Jhon, wtf was that.
-
Bogarde is far too casual.
-
Can we take Duran off and bring him back around 65 minutes?
-
No guile being shown, and it's expect more from Onana and Bailey particularly. Wycombe are playing it very tight and giving us no space.
-
Emi is holding onto the ball too long.
-
This isn't very good
-
Barkley looks unsure what his role is, all a bit stale so far from the whole side.
-
We need a goal. Get Micah Richards on.
-
Our senior players are all off it here.
Attitude from them nowhere near good enough. Body language suggests a few of them have the hump they are playing tonight. Two young centre backs have been decent.
Carlos injured in warm up as per commentator.
-
Even against these Onana is unconvincing
-
Can't see us scoring from a corner, they're twice our height.
-
Even against these Onana is unconvincing
Even?
-
Our senior players are all off it here.
Attitude from them nowhere near good enough. Body language suggests a few of them have the hump they are playing tonight. Two young centre backs have been decent.
Carlos injured in warm up as per commentator.
Bogarde has been poor, lost the ball three times already.
-
I'm also seeing Duran not being a target man: his first touch is dodgy and I think he prefers the ball in front of him.
-
Swinkles looks decent on the ball.
-
Even against these Onana is unconvincing
What are you implying here?
-
I was going to say Kaden Young had been our brightest player until he ran straight into their full back.
-
This has a JJ off the bench goal all over it.
-
Buendia not playing like a captain.
-
Why are we giving away cheap free kicks? The third tier reserves seem more savvy than us.
-
There was me thinking we don’t have the ‘stiffs’ anymore.
Based on this, we most certainly fucking do
-
Barkley Duran Onana shite.
-
Buendia rusty as a Rover metro wheel arch
-
blimey buendia has been poor ..
-
(https://img.gifglobe.com/grabs/inbetweeners/S01E02/gif/oLa6xworGMqs.gif)
-
I wonder how much Emery ever wants to win these matches. Citeh and Chelsea (and Liverpool) can play weakened teams with lots of kids and they still want to go out and win. We do it and the few senior players picked seemed peed off and the kids don't step up to try to impress.
Although unfair on Emery, it has been a reoccurring thing since we started to play "weakened" teams in the cup.
-
Barkley Duran Onana shite.
You forgot Buendia.
That was very poor all round.
-
Buendia rusty as a Rover metro wheel arch
See also Marina,Allegro,Ital, Princess etc.
-
Tempted to have a little nap.
-
Well done Wycombe much the better side.
-
That first half showed how important Pau Torres has become to our build up from the back.
-
Been pretty desperate, even acknowledging the amount of change. They’re just playing as individuals.
-
That was hopefully our worse half.
-
Wycombe are hungry like the Wolf, and we look like we have just eaten a seven course feast and fancy a postprandial nap.
-
Think we can leave the “Duran must start” to the side for a bit longer.
-
Think we can leave the “Duran must start” to the side for a bit longer.
Yep he’s getting bullied by the two big centre backs.
-
Buendia rusty as a Rover metro wheel arch
See also Marina,Allegro, Ital, Princess etc.
That is a car I haven't heard mentioned for a very long time.
-
Not really a criticism of him. He’s still a youngster. Coming off the bench is just fine for now.
-
Buendia rusty as a Rover metro wheel arch
Yeah, he is in need of this game. Struggling to protect the ball in possession. Duran and Barkley have been appalling, Bailey not far behind. Expecting a bit more from Kosta too, should be getting outside Bailey a lot more often.
-
Think we can leave the “Duran must start” to the side for a bit longer.
Yep he’s getting bullied by the two big centre backs.
He's possibly under instruction not to bust a gut.
-
It's often the way with these matches, you look at the players involved, on the edge of the first team in most cases and think they'll do a job. But put a team of odds and sods together who've never played before and they look ragged. Mind you, Wycombe could probably say the same.
-
Think we can leave the “Duran must start” to the side for a bit longer.
Yep he’s getting bullied by the two big centre backs.
He's possibly under instruction not to bust a gut.
If so, he’s been massively successful
-
SuperSub is not a SuperStarter.
-
Think we can leave the “Duran must start” to the side for a bit longer.
Although he would also be starting with Rogers, Tielemans, Torres and probably JJ to take any pressure off him solely for attack. Although he has snatched at his chances compared to what we know he can do, there is nothing else happening in attack.
-
Our senior players are all off it here.
Attitude from them nowhere near good enough. Body language suggests a few of them have the hump they are playing tonight. Two young centre backs have been decent.
Carlos injured in warm up as per commentator.
Bogarde has been poor, lost the ball three times already.
It's extremely difficult to criticise Emery but no one is perfect and I don't see what he sees in Bogarde.
-
While it's fair to say we have been mostly shite, I think it's also fair to say if Duran buries that chance in the first minute (as he should), it's a different game.
-
Fucking shite! Bathos Amanda has done fuck all.
-
Pretty shit all round really. Pity fans travelling tonight and paying for this dirge. Assume they are charging reserve team prices. If Heck was in charge of their ticketing, this would be a premium match!!
-
Swinkles looks decent on the ball.
I like the look of him, lovely first touch
-
Gareth Ainsworth channeling Ozzy
-
I feel for the goal monitors who are going to have cramp in their mouse hands. Bless!
-
Swinkels, I think.
-
Tempted to have a little nap.
I did in the first half.
-
We need a SCORCHIO!
-
Swinkles looks decent on the ball.
I like the look of him, lovely first touch
He looks quite tidy, needs more movement in front of him.
-
It's a good job WW haven't got there full team out.
-
Ok, second half, move the ball quicker, stop being lazy sulkers. There. We will win.
-
Any changes?
-
Our senior players are all off it here.

Bogarde has been poor, lost the ball three times already.

Played very well pre-season versus Bilbao.
-
Doesn't look like it Legion.
-
Any changes?
No.
-
Unai is definitely not sending the right message to the team and senior players on the pitch are reflecting that with their casual play.
-
Picture has gone.
-
Unai hates domestic cup competitions.
-
Oh great, i HAVE A GREEN SCREEN.
-
Someone pulled the plug
-
Close up of the pitch is a bit much - very green though. Fair play the groundskeeper.
-
Fucking Sky!
-
Oh great, i HAVE A GREEN SCREEN.
At least that would make it easier to CGI some decent football over the top of it?
-
Yeah it’s gone…..bugger, it’s back.
-
Picture has gone.
Bugger, it's back.
Boo Levico beat me 🙂
-
Didn't think we were patient enough first half, ball went forward too quickly and they got blokes around it.
Need to be more patient and isolate our wide players against the full backs.
-
All gone quiet over there
-
Sky lost the pictures just as well maybe.
-
Oh great, i HAVE A GREEN SCREEN.
At least that would make it easier to CGI some decent football over the top of it?
I wish!!
-
This isn't Neds debut is it?
-
What on earth was that Swinkels.
-
Picture is no better after the blank out either.
-
For a minute I thought there had been a zombie attack (Shaun Of The Dead reference for the uninitiated).
-
I couldn’t point to a single thing Onana has done tonight. Has he had a touch?
We need Unai to bring some of the big hitters off the bench like he’s become famous for.
Edit: count me chastised, he just completed a pass.
-
Barkley, Onana, Bailey, Buendia get this fucking sorted.
-
We seem to have learned you have to throw yourself to get anything out of this referee.
-
Durán will get booked soon due to self induced frustration.
-
Chairboy booked.
-
Since when was just needing a cuddle a bookable offence I ask you???
-
Buendia needs to give the ball faster
-
buendia should have played bailey there
-
Attitude all over the pitch, appears to stink
-
Hurrah!
-
Finally!!Emi!!!!!!!
-
So there it is
-
Get the fuck in
-
About time.
-
Well, that may open the game up a little.
-
Good header by Buendia, who has been more like it this half, and excellent by Kadan Young, who has been responsible for a few of our better moments.
-
Nice
-
Emi Emi Emi
-
That's a quality header!
-
Good run by Young but the goal is barely deserved.
-
Terrible free kick to concede
-
Excellent from Young, great header from little Emily.
-
At last.
-
Ah that's better.
-
Nice finish that
-
Ref cannot wait to give free kicks against us.
-
That's a great leap from the little guy.
-
Good run by Young but the goal is barely deserved.
Jeez
-
I love that Unai is pissed off
-
Young has been decent, tbf.
-
emery didnt look happy they scored lol
-
aw man, what are we supposed to complain about now.. ::)
-
I love that Unai is pissed odd.
What has he been drinking?
-
Some header that from Emi. Good play from Young.
Barkley and Duran have stunk it out so far.
-
Need to be more patient and isolate our wide players against the full backs.
See?
-
I love that Unai is pissed odd.
What has he been drinking?
In before the edit. Nicely done. Shows how boring the game is.
-
That's a great leap from the little guy.
Still weird how he scores so many headers for such a tiny person.
-
Good run from young nice come back goal from Emi
-
Ref seemed to move our wall back at lot further that 10 yards for that free kick.
-
Sorry! I went off too quickly PTV!
-
Mad that people on here think the media are out to get us, when we have quite clearly been much better since they deliberately lost the pictures to rattle Wycombe.
-
For a small lad, Emi does seem to win his share of headers in the box.
-
Ah good.
-
Young has been decent, tbf.
Always looked impressive when I've seen him play.
-
The goal
https://x.com/SC_ESPN/status/1838673557842194734
-
Onana and Bailey should come on now.
-
Sorry! I went off too quickly PTV!
Not the first time, I imagine?
-
Ooh, a Scot coming on. Be brilliant, please.
-
Borland and Ramsey on for Onana and Bailey.
-
What’s the average and combined age now?
-
Not heard of him, did he play against Fleetwood ?
-
Sorry! I went off too quickly PTV!
Not the first time, I imagine?
I'm working on it with Dr Melfi.
-
Let’s hope Ramsey takes charge of this shit show.
-
Bailey and Onana have been shit and they are off.
A bit worrying.
-
One thing that's been obvious tonight is just how right Emery has it with Duran and Barkley so far this season. Both are much more effective coming on to change things during a game.
-
Didn't Borland win a PDC match with a 9 darter?
-
What’s the average and combined age now?
It’s getting down to the average age of our defence stated earlier in the thread. Closer to 5 or 6 now.
-
Sorry! I went off too quickly PTV!
Not the first time, I imagine?
I'm working on it with Dr Melfi.
Haha. Best of luck.
-
Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever in my life seen anyone drinking carabao. I don’t think I’ve even seen it in a shop.
-
Bailey and Onana have been shit and they are off.
A bit worrying.
Nah. If it was a PL game they’d be multiple levels better.
-
This is very shit.
-
Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever in my life seen anyone drinking carabao. I don’t think I’ve even seen it in a shop.
Think I saw it in the big B & M up Merry Hill, next to Vimto Energy
-
A load of changes and we are playing very within ourselves. A bit crap really. Should be better than this really even if it is lower priority.
-
Pretty much the team who played in the Bristol Street Motors cup match now isn't it.
-
Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever in my life seen anyone drinking carabao. I don’t think I’ve even seen it in a shop.
It's odd in that they seem to be paying the money just to gain extra exposure in the Asian market, but all the games bar the final will be on at a stupid time over there so nobody will be watching.
Except for that mad bastard Axl, obvs.
-
Christ, it's still a bit shit isn't it?
-
Bailey and Onana have been shit and they are off.
A bit worrying.
Nah. If it was a PL game they’d be multiple levels better.
Bailey has been playing within himself this season possibly carrying a knock.
onana has twice been brought off af HT or shortly after. He doesn’t seem to fit in.
-
I know nothing about the foetus we have just bought on
-
….and Alan Smith gets paid for saying uninformed drivel.
-
Valuable minutes for Bailey. But all the senior players have been rubbish in the main.
-
Bailey and Onana have been shit and they are off.
A bit worrying.

Bailey has been playing within himself this season possibly carrying a knock.

Onana doesn’t seem to fit in? I’m struggling with this to be honest.
-
….and Alan Smith gets paid for saying uninformed drivel.
He bores the shit out of me. Negative twat.
-
Bailey has been playing within himself this season possibly carrying a knock.
onana has twice been brought off af HT or shortly after. He doesn’t seem to fit in.
Onana also scored three goals and played the full 90 in Europe.
-

Onana doesn’t seem to fit in? I’m struggling with this to be honest.
He doesn’t seem capable of playing patient possession football.
His main attributes are being a threat at set pieces and sticking a long leg in.
We’ve looked a better team without him all season!
And indeed pre season
-
The away kit looks nice at least though I would prefer claret shorts
-
Swinkels looks like the stand-out is the youngsters.
-
barkley having a bit of a mare
-
It’s understandable, but Emi is pretty off the pace. He’s so slow at releasing the ball.

Maybe they’re trying to break into the fire extinguisher market?
-
….and Alan Smith gets paid for saying uninformed drivel.
He bores the shit out of me. Negative twat.
Still more insightful than Micah 'Grinning Imbecile' Richards.
-
If Moore gets on, have we had three players from the same family, before? There's probably a very obvious answer.
-
An interesting fact I found out at the Arsenal game which will be applicable to us tonight. At the Arsenal game they had a 17 year old on the bench and as he was not an adult he could attend the get together in the changing room, for tactics etc, but he had to change and shower in a separate room as considered still a child.
-
Swinkels looks like the stand-out is the youngsters.
I was thinking Bogarde

Without doubt. My cockerpoo has more football insight than him.

The Moss family?

This isn't much good

Until all 6 of Gabby’s kids get a game

Thanks, knew there were bound to be some.

When Harvey Elliott played for Fulham when he was 15 I remember something about him having a chaperone.
-
Swinkels looks like the stand-out is the youngsters.
Agree, a bit of Pau about him.
-
This is a hard watch and that’s putting it mildly.
-

Imagine how terrified Small Heath will be next time we play them...

Some of his might already have got a game without us or them knowing it.

Onana was nominated for PL player of the month wasn't?
-
What's the Moore link, he's the son of Stefan or Luke? Making me feel very old that!
Can still remember the hype on here when the Moore brothers were coming through in 2002-04, think Luke had a pretty good loan spell at Wycombe funnily enough.
-
Doug Ellis had loads of his sons play for Villa.
-

Son of Stefan.
-
Doug Ellis had loads of his sons play for Villa.
He sold more sons than Genghis Khan created.
-
This is a hard watch and that’s putting it mildly.
It's just a game to get through and tick off. Anyone thinking we were going to win 4 or 5 nil was a bit optimistic.
-
Onana was nominated for PL player of the month wasn't?
Well he did the job of defensive midfielder whilst also scoring from set pieces perfectly last month. Some people want the moon with some of our players it seems.
-

🙋♂️ and me.
-
Bailey and Onana have been shit and they are off.
A bit worrying.
Nah. If it was a PL game they’d be multiple levels better.
Bailey has been playing within himself this season possibly carrying a knock.
onana has twice been brought off af HT or shortly after. He doesn’t seem to fit in.
Onana doesn’t seem to fit in? I’m struggling with this to be honest.
He doesn’t seem capable of playing patient possession football.
His main attributes are being a threat at set pieces and sticking a long leg in.
We’ve looked a better team without him all season!
And indeed pre season
Onanas first goal was a header from a corner, true. His second a close range finish from a brilliant team move, his third a brilliant piledriver. He was really good, possibly our best player against West Ham, Arsenal and Leicester, he was really good against young boys in the champions league. Not so great against Everton or Wolves.
Doesnt fit in is a sweeping statement
-
All of the ‘senior’ players have been poor.
-
Should be 1-1
-

Son of Stefan.
In my mind I still have Stefan Moore as a prospect who can still turn his career around! Think he became a taxi driver for a bit after his Football career fizzled out.
-
Jesus Christ, so half-arsed.
Our passing has been fucking terrible all night.
-
Great from Gauci
-
That was close.
-
Swinkels looks like the stand-out is the youngsters.
I was thinking Bogarde
I hope that was a joke.
-
Well done, Gauci.
-
To think I’m missing Bake Off for this.
-
Good save that
-
Bogarde again
-
This isn't much good
"In the first half we played shit"
-
This is a hard watch and that’s putting it mildly.
It's just a game to get through and tick off. Anyone thinking we were going to win 4 or 5 nil was a bit optimistic.
For comparison, Chelsea put 5 past barrow (so one less then us the other year) so can be done, but Citeh are "holding on" to a 2-1 against Watford and Leicester are currently heading to penalties against Walsall.
-
Every time I see Sawiris, Elmo is keeping him company. Is it because they both walk like Egyptians?

The goal against Leicester was from a free kick
He was taken off on 62 mins and we looked a better side afterwards

He's entitled to his opinion, even if it is a bit pants. ;-)
-
bogarde does a carlos
-
Onana was nominated for PL player of the month wasn't?
Yes. It's very odd that someone has decided to have a go at him tonight. Someone else said he doesn't see what Unai sees in Bogarde and while I don't think he's that bad I'm not convinced by him at all.
-
Nice of us to keep it interesting, not like those boring twats Chelsea.
-
Swinkels looks like the stand-out is the youngsters.
I was thinking Bogarde
I hope that was a joke.
Here's looking at you kid.
-
Any concerns that Gauci is shit from our Aussie correspondent have been dispelled by his displays in pre season and tonight.
-
Come on Villa, FFS.
-
Trying our absolute best to concede here.
-
Bogarde is shit.
-
This feels like Stevenage all over again
-
Get Duran on
-
Smart from Villa to ease off and let them test Gauci. Now we have an idea that he is ready to step up if needed.
-
Snooker's on the other side. Tempted.
-
This feels like Stevenage all over again
Oh don't! ::)
-
Smart from Villa to ease off and let them test Gauci. Now we have an idea that he is ready to step up if needed.
Probably means we are selling Emi in January to Chelsea
-
Something I think Gauci could do with improving (from the limited times I’ve seen him) is shouting and organising when a ball goes out. I imagine it’ll come with experience and age, but I’ve noticed he doesn’t immediately bounce into geeing up the defence and telling them where to be.
-
Penalty Villa
-
Pennnooooaldo
-
Is Barry taking it?
-
Penalty. Very lucky, looked a dive.
-
Clear penalty.
-
Durán fell over nicely
-
PANDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
-
Duran fouled by a worm.
-
Duran to take?
Edit: Yes
-
Easy does it
-
Lovely fall.
-
Durán scores. Reckon we might hold on, now.
-
Cheats propser
-
Duran to take?
Big Ross I reckon
-
Was there any contact there?
-
Duran scores his 5th of the season. Nice penalty.
-
Going for the Man U method. Play rubbish, cheat... win trophy?
-
Wank Panzer!
-
PANDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Yay!
-
Looked like he kicked the ground himself.
Cheating.
-
Broggio on for Young.
-
With decisions like that going our way it tells me we’ve finally arrived as a big club.
-
Ben Broggio. Never heard of him.
-
Soft penalty
-
PANDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Zoomorphic dehumanisation.
-
Cheeky no look pen
-
Big Jhon what a penalty taker.
-
Wouldn't have been given with VAR
-
Wouldn't have been given with VAR
No chance. Never mind.
-
He even hits his penalties in the style of a thunder-bastard.
-
Like the look of this Broggio lad, a bit like Jack.
-
PANDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Yay!
I don't know why, but it always feels extra special when he scores in these match threads.
-
And that, kids, is why we have VAR...
-
Borland has looked after the ball well.
-
I thought the defender caught his ankle
-
Ropey old pen that.
-
Borland has looked a tidy player since he came on.
-
Borland looks lively
-
PANDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Zoomorphic dehumanisation.
Performative Anti-Zoomorphic Dehumanisation.
Side 1, track 3 of the second African Car Reverser album.
-
Walsall are shit at penalties.
-
We look more comfortable when playing with a bit of pace
-
I thought the defender caught his ankle
Yeah, angles not conclusive. But looked from some as no contact, others as may touched his heel
-
I thought the defender caught his ankle
Hello Stuart Atwell, how are you?
-
VAR would not have overruled the penalty decision
-
Wouldn't have been given with VAR
Or a competent referee. Shocking dive, build up had some of the first positive moments from Barkley and Duran in the game.
-
Borland looks lively
I'd mark him as a C++
One for the late middle age software developers out there.
-
VAR would not have overruled the penalty decision
Who knows with VAR. it’s a roll of a dice with stuff like that.
-
Don't think there was any contact. Although from one angle it did look like a pen. Take it and move on. Excellent penalty from big John.
-
Isn't Travis Patterson a builders' merchant?
-
More babies on the pitch
-
Panda my fucking arse!
-
Borland looks lively

Badaboom

Close. Perkins

I’m your guy
-
I thought the defender caught his ankle
Yeah, angles not conclusive. But looked from some as no contact, others as may touched his heel
I think it was hard to tell but he went down very cheaply even if there was contact, if he'd stayed up though I think there was a good chance of the keeper clattering him.
-
Panda my fucking arse!
No thanks
-
Borland looks lively
I'd mark him as a C++

I'm a Turbo Pascal man myself :D
-
Buendia MOTM! Are you kidding. Smith is a complete womble.
-
Borland reminds me of Bannan in his style of play.
-
Buendia MOM?
Has Smith been locked in a cupboard for the duration of the match?
-

My dad just messaged me that.
-
Borland reminds me of Bannan in his style of play.
Nice little player. He has done well.
-
Buendia MOM?
Has Smith been locked in a cupboard for the duration of the match?
Bizarre...it must have been a sympathy vote. The goal aside he was terrible.
-
Borland reminds me of Bannan in his style of play.
Been decent
-
Bogarde has been Konsaesque.
Purred like a Rolls Royce throughout the game.
-
Another couple of Wycombe chances
-
1-2
-
Buendia MOM?
Has Smith been locked in a cupboard for the duration of the match?
Bizarre...it must have been a sympathy vote. The goal aside he was terrible.
He's probably just the only one he recognises.

To be fair, it is well-documented that pandas rarely have sex, which is why some people have affinities with them.
-
Bogarde is shit.
-
Bogarde is shit.
Absolute turd.
-
I suppose the handball goal makes up for the dodgy pen a bit.
-
This defence looks even worse than our actual first choice defence.
-
Bogarde again
-
Bogarde is shit.
Absolute turd.
Completely.
-
Swinkels and Bogarde have been dire.
-
A kone scores against us.
-
Shame but Bogarde hasn't done himself any favours..shit all night
-
Full time.
-
bogarde has been awful
-
We've looked very ropey against the long ball, still dont suppose it really matters with a makeshift defence.
-
This defence looks even worse than our actual first choice defence.
It flat out unacceptable.
-
Swinkels and Bogarde both awful in the last few minutes.
-
Shocking from Swinkels that
-
Well that was terrible defending by Swinkels.
-
Oh well, Swinkels and Bogarde screwed that up between them.
-
Tough crowd on here calling couple of kids shit.
-
No one made a case to be starting from that lot.
-
So a bit of “clever” play from Duran wins the tie.
-
I thought Bogarde was good with the ball, and pretty poor without it.
-
Well that was terrible defending by Swinkels.
Yep awful
-
Tough crowd on here calling couple of kids shit.
Agreed. Total nonsense.
-
Swinkels forgot how to head a football.
-
They were really poor tonight.
Especially Bogarde.
-
This defence looks even worse than our actual first choice defence.
It flat out unacceptable.
We are going to have to play the 3rd choice
-
Tough crowd on here calling couple of kids shit.
Agree.
-
Tough crowd on here calling couple of kids shit.
Shit in that moment. Swinkels played well overall but Bogarde stunk the place out.
-
Tough crowd on here calling couple of kids shit.
Agree. It's quite sad
-
Tough crowd on here calling couple of kids shit.
Yeah need to remember they are youngsters
-
Tough crowd on here calling couple of kids shit.
I think the kids were all right.
It was the senior player that were dissapointing.
-
Wouldn't blame the young kids, learning curve for them
-
I thought that, despite the goal conceded, Swinkels showed some good stuff; Borland looked good in possession; Nedeljkovic and Maatsen are good fullbacks; Gauci generally looked secure.
Not great but some positives.
-
I think the kids in defence could have reasonably expected the midfield and attack to do a much better job of keeping the ball and the pressure off them.
-
Tough crowd on here calling couple of kids shit.
Agreed. Total nonsense.
Also agree, completely OTT given their age and first team experience.
-
I think the kids in defence could have reasonably expected the midfield and attack to do a much better job of keeping the ball and the pressure off them.
agree, there was so little movement in front of them with and without the ball.
-
The defence did OK tonight, until the last five minutes. It's a lesson they need to learn quickly, you concentrate from first minute to last. Bogarde did some great stuff and some terrible stuff in equal measure. Ned looks very good. I'm sure the plan would have been to put Carlos in there with 30 mins to go.
-
Wank Panzer!
Meaning?
-
I thought Bogarde was good with the ball, and pretty poor without it.
Good with the ball, He must have given it away at least 5 times under no pressure.
-
I feel for the goal monitors who are going to have cramp in their mouse hands. Bless!
Please give these snide comments a rest.
-
Tough crowd on here calling couple of kids shit.
Agreed, unnecessary.
-
Panda my fucking arse!
No thanks

Uncalled for. Cut your snide digs out or find somewhere else to post.

If Moore gets on, have we had three players from the same family, before? There's probably a very obvious answer.
I feel I should leave this answer to the poster frankmosswasmyuncle.
-

My mate reffed a game involving one of his kids recently. He said she was very good. “Class” to quote him exactly.
-
Wank Panzer!
Meaning?
It denotes a big SUV that is often parked on double yellow lines or on four parking spaces. There is even a Twitter account that posts photos of them. Probably a play on wank panda bit I'd definitely had a few rosés.

I believe they are not snide but humourous but ok.
