Away. Saturday 31st August at 15:00 BST
Can we score? Have we got too much for them?
Who knows?
1-3 to the Villa. Watkins, Rogers, Torres. You know who for them.
-
Could really do with a win here.
-
Coopers done well against in two home premier league games when at Forest, 1-1 and then 2-0 last season, they are always up for it against us.
But enough of all that, 3-0 us (Watkins, Rogers, Ramsey).
-
I'd take a win now.
-
2-0 to us, Watkins and Rogers.
-
Yes, I will 'take' us funeralling them now it you are 'offering'.
-
'Must-win' is a silly thing to say in August, but what we can say is this is the type of game we have to be winning to be a serious contender.
-
We must win every game as far as I am concerned.
-
They'll sit back and let us dictate the play and wait for mistakes .
-
They'll sit back and let us dictate the play and wait for mistakes .
Don't know whether they will set out to do that but I think that might be how it pans out anyway.
-
We must win every game as far as I am concerned.
There is that.
-
the one game I hate as surrounded by the happy clappers and the shite Ive had off them for years especially the winners of the prem time.
So win Villa so I can go out . Which they will 2 0 .
-
Watkins can score both to make amends for Saturday.
-
Clean sheet and a win please villa. Spurs found it tough there so wont be a easy game.
I wont make a prediction as im usually wrong.

Predict a Leicester win then. Problem solved.
-
Dishing out plaudits when losing is very much short term so the performance against Woolwich will be irrelevant if we don't impress on Saturday.
Watkins will improve and with Rogers looking good we have more then enough to overcome the opposition.
Sometimes these are the sort of games we conspire to throw away leaving us all tearing our hair out in frustration but not this time. We'll win before the whole season comes to a crashing halt for the fucking international break.
0-2

Leicester 4-3 win 😁

Is this a pre match thread, pre match prediction, pre match crowd guess?

-
0-2 Duran and Bailey.
-
Them 1 Us 3
-
The Axl Rose Derby.
-
2-0
-
A clean sheet is long overdue and could be the difference between points dropped or a win .

Yeah how crap is that to have a two week break after just 3 games for such a tinpot thing as the Nations League ffs
Anyway 3 0 to us, Watkins hat trick.
-
International break already ?! Absolute piss takers
-
Watkins will lose all his match fitness. FFS!
-
I’d be very surprised if Watkins gets a game for England. Having said that, it does depend on whether Kane is fit or not.
-
I was watching that Aston Villa the Movie thing on youtube the other day.
It's a fucking difficult watch at times.
Anyway, I know it was pre NSWE and not the real turning point, which was losing against Fulham, but that Leicester match where we were doing really well, then Sherwood made some inexplicable subs and they won. That struck me as a turning point.
If, at the point of those subs, you'd have said "one of these sides is going to win the league this season, which one?" I would have put everything on us.
Then what happened happened.
-
Think it will be a tight game . 1 goal in it .
-

-
Our forwards haven't been at this in the first couple of games. Start with a good tempo here like at West Ham and I think we will crucify these. Their squad looks very weak. Oliver Skipp, their big signing!

Leicester finished the previous season with seven wins one draw and one defeat. Going into the game unbeaten in eight.
I’d have backed them every time.
Kante Mahrez and Vardy. Bloody hell even Drinkwater was miles better than anything we had. Robert Huth or Micah Richards? Kasper Schmeichel or Guzan?
The only way I’d have ever backed us is if I’d never watched either team before.
-
We have a pretty shit record against them, too. They're the only Midlands team to have played us more than a handful of times that has a winning record against us. The late nineties/early noughties against their bunch of thugs were a nightmare.
-
Despite ending the season well and starting the next one well, its a bit disingenuous from anyone to hint that when they beat us you’d of backed them to win the league. No one was backing Kante, Mahrez etc to do anything particularly, i doubt many knew who they were or what they could do, Vardy was only really getting noticed. We played them away when, mid to late September and were cruising at 2-0, before Tactics Tim lost the plot.

The question was who I’d have backed at 2-0 to win the league, us or them. Knowing how utterly crap we were and how much Benteke had carried us for the previous three seasons I’d have picked them.
I wasn’t convinced they’d win the league until about February time.
-
When they twatted Man City away I thought they'd win the league, always thought they'd collapse before that.
-
Solid Villa win, and we need it, Ollie's got to put his stamp on this one, the headed miss v Arsenal, wow!, must put that right.
Leicester 0-Villa 3
-
Squeaky 0:1 and we will play with a surprise false 9 Oli on the bench.

They had that prick O'Neill in charge. He didn't coach or do tactics as James Collins recently opined, when discussing his signing for Villa the same week as Richard Dunne.
Their new boss didn't speak to them until the day before their debut. When "Dunney" asked the prick what sort of defensive shape they should take for set-pieces in the first game, the response was "I signed the pair of you cvnts to head it so stand in the six yard box and fucking head it".

Still have nightmares about that game. One of the most sickening management performances ive seen from a winning position

We'll win this one.

The headed miss was bad , very bad, almost as bad as his miss first half .

Has anyone had their ticket for this?
-
Has anyone had their ticket for this?
Not yet.
-
I can see us getting a 2-0 win.
-
No
-
Not just me, then.
My WHAM! one came just over a week before, so they are cutting it fine.
-
Just tried to phone the ticket office to ask when they're being sent out. There's a recorded message saying "Due to high demand, we're unable to take your call" and then it hangs up.
Is there a part of the behind the scenes organisation that that isn't amateurish beyond compare?
-
I think all away tickets are digital this season.

Please, no, not so soon.

It says either digital or posted out on the email receipt I got.
edit: "For Away Games - All tickets will be in either digital format or posted and will not be available for collection."
-
I can't remember what they were last season as we never got ours. I assumed they were paper and I'd lost them, as didn't realise I didn't have them till I was literally about to step out the door.
We had to queue for ages to get them re-printed at the stadium, but luckily got in just in time to see our first goal.
-
Finally got through to somebody about the Leicester tickets. Apparently the manager who sends out away tickets has been on holiday, and he has assured everybody they'll be sent out tomorrow afternoon...

Was he on holiday or just stuck in the queue outside the Holte End. Just asking.

That’s pretty ridiculous.

0-2 to us, Watkins with both

Exemplary. You'll be safe in your plimsolls.

Got a couple of tickets for this. What's the parking like? Visited Filbert Street a dog's age ago but never been to The King Power. Will be the fourth time I've visited both of a club's old and new grounds, after Southampton, Reading and West Ham

Park in the city centre or by the cricket ground. It's only up the road from Filbert Street.
-
1-3 Watkins to open his account and goals for Rogers and JJ.
-
I'd enjoy a clean sheet and a few goals for us.

My first ever away game was at Filbert Street. Mark Lillis scored for us. Think he may have got two, i'm not sure.

I do declare! It's sitting in my inbox.
-
They hate us - we ignore them until we play them - 3-1 to the Villa
-
Leaving Filbert Street at the end of a game and walking through those back streets could be a bit of an adventure.

Was at the game , he got one . we won 2-0 , cracking day at a cracking old ground . The new place is a non-descript generic carpetland type building .

My only visit to the new stadium was the Sherwood game with Leeg and RedSox.

I don't think I've ever been to an away ground where outside, all the side streets, everywhere around the stadium, it just appeared that everybody was Villa quite like Filbert Street.

as was the walk to and from the station

0-2 away win Watkins with a brace.
Sort of match he will deliver as last season against relegation threatened teams he was really too much for them.
Enjoy the match everyone and hope to catch up with things in time for first champions league match!
In the meantime expecting a string of victories considering fixtures!
Up the Villa!

We'd just signed him as I remember and starting to look like Taylor's team after a shaky start.
-
We may lose, obviously, but to the few people who have voted Leicester, if you don't think we are going to win these sort of games, which games do you think we'll win?!
3-0, Vardy hat-trick.
-
Jordan Ayew to score and refuse to celebrate against his old team, looking miserable instead. No different to his usual celebration then.

That's how I remember it, we always seemed to take over the place
-
Hated this lot since MON's ragtag bunch of talentless bastards (Claridge, Elliott, Prior, etc.) seemed to turn us over every bloody season, they even stopped us from winning the League Cup one year as they went on and beat Tranmere in the final. Good record against them recently though so about time we started owning them.
0-2 Rogers and Bailey
-
Went to the old Filbert Street a few times, including the season we won the league and when we won 2-0 and Graham Taylor was our Manager
As others have said the walk away from that ground was always interesting
We play our football on Saturday, we win 3-1.
-
Can see alot of goals in this 🙌
-
As others have said the walk away from that ground was always interesting
Yeah, but what do you all mean by that? You ran the gauntlet, had your head kicked in, admired the geraniums in the little gardens outside terraced houses....what?
-
I've never had an issue walking back to the car at Leicester.
-
I only went to the old ground once, when we lost 1-0 at the start of the season under Little. I was living in Leicester at the time. There was a huge amount of agro and a massive scrap outside one of the pubs after the game.
-
I lived in that area of Leicester for 4 years - literally right on the streets that people walk through every match day two minutes from Filbert street / Raw Dykes road - and never saw or heard of any trouble either related to football or fans - and very little else all said.

We play our football on Saturday, we win 3-1.
We got into the ground really early and SGT wandered over to sign autographs and have a chat, we hadn't started the season particularly well so someone shouted "when are we gonna win Graham?" Taylor responded by pointing at him theatrically and saying forcefully "Today!" to wild cheers all around.

No idea, I thought I was being hysterical, but alas... I am crap!

Just win Villa, the moaning about the "disastrous" transfer window will be unbearable for the next 2 weeks if we don't.
-
Just park anywhere in the city centre. Have a bit of lunch then walk down the river to the ground. It's actually quite pleasant, or as pleasant as Leicester gets.

I can't stand Leicester but I suspect a big part of it is rugby related. That the fans of their football team very quickly (after a bit of success) proved themselves to be as big a bunch of twats as the rugby fans was nice though because I feel a bit better about judging the entire city based on them now.

Yea i did some uni stuff at Leicester on and off between 2005 and 2015, grew to quite like Leicester. Quite like the fact its a bit out of the way on its own geographically.

Back to winning ways on this one, going for a 0-2 Villa win. 3 points, 6 points from 3 games, we should have beaten Arsenal, here we go.
-
A clean sheet and a win please.
Oh and just to clarify , Leicester is an absolute hovel.

Leicester is fine - had some very happy times there - always think of it as quite a manageable city
-
Lucky we got a international break after this so cash and carlos hopefully won't miss many games
-
We could really do with winning this one.
-
I'm hoping for two things from this game; three points and the absence of an on-pitch punch-up, bearing in mind who the inadequate referee is.
Remember Brentford and Everton last season?

A roundly trouncing 1-4 win. Tielemans to score on his return. Steve Lynex for them.
.
-
Wasn't it Keith Weller who once took to the pitch wearing white tights whilst playing for them because it was a bit chilly?
-
Please just a win today, and a comfortable one at that
-
I forgot they were who we got Tielemans from. Hope he plays a blinder today.
-
I went to university at Leicester, and liked the city so much I then worked there for another four years.
-
Big call to start Bogarde
-
Boris Johnson has lost a bit of weight.
-
We need a second . They look pretty poor , but they did against Spurzz and back stronger second half
