My Dad died on 18th of July. He’d had 92 years of fitness and good health and four weeks of pain-free incapacity. Even though it was hard to watch, it’s how I’d choose to go.
He started going to Villa Park in 1944. I’m pretty certain he was one of a very few that saw Villa, Blues, West Brom and Wolves in FA Cup finals at Wembley. He was there for the highest attendance at VP of 76,588 vs Derby in 1946. He had a million stories and I’m sure I never heard them all.
