I hope it does him justice.

It does.

Done. Get your spell-checker out.

Yup, a nice summary of a good guy's life.
-
Good read, thanks.
Always wondered about his after Villa career. Knew he went to the US, but that was about it.
-
It does Dave, good read.

A fitting tribute. I was talking to my Dad about Chico last night because he knew him quite well from working with the club in the 70s. He said what a great bloke Chico was.
-
A great read, Dave. Chico was the epitome of that crazy time in our history in the early 70s....swashbuckling in his style of play and his demeanour.
-
I had long blond hair as a ten year old kid back in 1970 and one day I was kicking a ball around with my brother in a park in Bournville wearing my Villa shirt and a couple of blokes walking by started chanting Cheee-co - o-o-o….. Cheee-co-o-o-o-o-o ... Made me feel on top of the world. Can't imagine how it must have felt with Holte in full voice.
-
That's a great tribute to a great player....many thanks Dave!
RIP Chico.

Great read.

Great read Dave.

A lovely tribute Dave, Chico was a key part of the Villa fight back after relegation to Division 3.
-
Excellent, my dad started taking me down when Chico started under the Doc and players like him are the foundation of my love for the club. I didn’t realise though that he had played for Chelsea. These were fabulous days to be a Villa fan I I remember them fondly

Same here. I guess when you’re a kid you don’t know or care about the players’ associations. You just care that they are wearing claret and blue at that moment and that’s enough. RIP Chico.

As above, I think he was one that we could identify with as kids and a big part of the team that got be hooked on Villa.
-
Yes, he was a real Holte End hero and a skilful and glamorous player when third division teams could keep their best players rather than being forced to sell them.
Chico completely lost his confidence under Docherty (the man who signed him) but eventually got it back under Vic Crowe and kept his place in Saunders's team that took us back up and also won the League Cup we should have won in 1971. MotM? Chico Hamilton.
