We’re in the middle of a rough little stretch here. Only 2 wins in 7 and those were against Championship Boro and Sheff Utd who will likely be playing in that division next season.
The next 5 games are absolutely critical now if the season isn’t to go in the shitter
Fulham (a)
Forest (h)
Luton (a)
SPURS (h)
West Ham (a)
Surely we need to target no less than 10 points from that lot to have any chance of maintaining top 5 or 6 position.
-
15 points for me. We are capable of it as well. Spurs will be one of our most important games of the season.

7 points from 5.

We need 12 points I think - our run has been so shit we’ve got to build a gap again.
-
i think we win all 5 . Genuinely .

So do we all. We've only managed 5 in a row once under Emery, last season when we were flying. Other than that, the best we've done is three in a row. Given the form we're in, I'd say it's highly unlikely.
-
beat Fulham first then go from there. Or not as the case may be

I think you’ve been hacked Tim……but I’ll agree with you
-
5 wins. Easy peasy.

Just my personal opinion but I hate these threads as they seem to jinx us. Hope to be wrong with this particular one though! Hopefully Kamara hasn't tweaked his knee ligaments. All cracking games and still very exciting to be where we are in the league.

hopefully not but i think Irogbunam could step up , his time is now

8 or 9 points from that lot.

Fancy us to go on a bit of a run but then I would!

Depends on who our centre backs are.

Play like we did today, we could easily get 13 points.

Why do people think we’ll lose at Fulham?

Why do people think we’ll lose at Fulham?
It’s been a tough ground generally for us to go to and Fulham are a decent side particularly at home. If Torres and Digne are back I think that increases our chances.
-
If its the samsle back four against fulham then im not at all optimistic
Not sure why tprres didnt get at least 10 minute's yesterday which suggests to me he isnt fit at all which poses the question why is he on the bench. But we desperately need him back. It sucks because i thought we moved past being reliant on a player being out eg mings but sadly nlback to square one
-
Brammal Lane had been a bad ground for us until last week, so nothing to fear at Fulham.
Play like we did yesterday, get Torres back in and we’ll be back to our form of the last year or so, which would yield us a very handy 10 points.
-
Fuck Fulham. We’ll batter them. I normally feel a certain way after being beaten by Man Utd, but I just feel weirdly upbeat today. The performance (esp going forward) was almost back to our very best at times yesterday. Ramsey and Moreno looking dangerous again. Bailey. Another day and that’s a 4-1 win. We will have Torres back too. I think we’ll go on a storming run from here and we’ll use the game yesterday as motivation to make sure we finish strongly.
-
Brentford too. Lots of places where we have had poor records and then suddenly don't. We've won more games at the new Tottenham ground than suffered defeats.
As long as JPA doesn't take our penalties, we'll be OK I think.
-
Why do people think we’ll lose at Fulham?
we are generally shite when we go there
-
12th and the thick end of 20 points behind us, with a negative goal difference. It's the right sort of fixture to have after a tricky patch. As is the following game at home. I can't say for certain what we'll do, but I feel confident that a good performance will lead to a win. Fancy us strongly to do Fulham, then we'll see.
-
I think we will get 13 points from these five games.
-

we are generally shite when we go there
And our away form, an atrocious Sheffield United aside, is generally not that great.

We have the 6th best away record in the league.
-
I know that, but generally we don't play very well. Certainly not compared to the home form, before this shit run started anyway.
-
Man United never play well and yet they seemingly have the recipie to have the 5th best away record in the league. Our form away is good, even if our fan connectivity, style imposition and our demands are somewhat lessened.
This is our first Saturday 3pm away, they're a mid-table floater, nothing to fear, history be damned, JJ on the cusp of being back to his electric normal self. Pau looking like Pirlo with his passing. We're re having them. Up to 4th best away record we go!
-
I can see why players talk about taking one game at a time.
Fulham away is difficult enough. They're capable of playing some good stuff at times. Let's see how we fare in that one first.
-
Hopefully Pau plays. Not convinced he will though.
-
This is where JJ shines bright like a diamond. Tom Cairney won't know what's hit'im.
-
Fulham don't score many lately but they have beaten Bournemouth and Arsenal at home in 2024.
It's a tough game as they have quality in central midfield so can expose us having to re-jig the midfield in Kamara's absence.
Feels a battling 1-1. We must win the next two after that especially Luton away as Manchester derby is that weekend so that's our best chance of getting at least a 5 point lead again on Man. United if not more.

Fulham had a great win at home yesterday
-
We're in a tough moment, definitely. The positive is that the last performance was pretty good, and the loss unwarranted. We do need to start winning again though, and soon. Fulham beat Bournemouth, but it was their first league win 2024 (and against a Bournemouth team whose form has fallen away worse than ours, with only 2 points from the last 5 games).
I see no reason why we can't win the next 3 games, and go into the Spurs game full of confidence.
-
We will win at least four of next five.
Pau and Ezri coming back.
We’re still in the Hunt for top four.

isn't Konsa out for a month ?
-
I like the optimism here but, sadly, I’m not feeling it. One good performance, against a top half Manure, doesn’t convince me that we have really turned a corner yet. Points on the board are what matters and, I really don’t see us getting much at Fulham. My thoughts are based on the fact that I don’t think Torres is truly fit, Konsa will be out for a while and Kamara being injured now will probably mean he won’t play for the rest of this season…it’s the Villa way!’
Even if some of the injured players come back we all know that, being Villa, it will take them at least 6 matches to get back up to speed.
Trying to stay positive but, since the Arsenal match, can’t see that much to be positive about. Prove me wrong Villa!!
-
9 points a must
-
Think we'll get 8-10, God knows in which games. I think Forest, weirdly Spurs and maybe Luton. Fulham draw.
-
Why do we keep doing these threads? - They never go well. >:(
-
Fulham is key, win that i think we can get on a roll. Lose and the season can easily fizzle out fast
-
Well it’s 9 out of 9 from these so far.
