Title: Match Break partners
Post by: Chris Harte on February 07, 2024, 07:59:27 AM
The club have announced Champions Travel & Travel Connection as official match break partners.

"This appointment allows us to make matchdays at Villa Park even more accessible to our fans around the world".

From the OS.

So a means to facilitate the far-flung fan getting to VP. No doubt for a mark-up ££££.

(Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere).

This is a good thing for the club. Shows they are serious about making the club attractive to fans all around the world, rather than just the Tamworth elite.

I think we're just catching up with putting our name to anything. A lad I knew on the IOM had a firm who were the "official payroll partners of Manchester City". Which meant nothing more than he'd stumped up £100,000 for the privilege.

I am sure a couple of years ago I read some company had become Official Diesel Engine Partner to Manchester United.

Hi everyone, I'm back from Google re ^^^^ and can confirm, it's a company called Yanmar.

Quote
Since our 100th anniversary in 2012, Yanmar has maintained agreements with leading Premier League team Manchester United as an official diesel engine partner and official agricultural equipment partner

What do they need agricultural equipment for? Feeding Luke Shaw, I guess.

No idea re diesel engines though.

I misinterpreted the thread title

I thought is was going to be......."this endless wait for a VAR decision is brought to you by Charlie's Kebab House of Bevington Road"

On the Orstralian feed of our game I was watching on Sat there were loads of adverts for some company running trips to Spurs, probably because they have the Gruffalo in charge but they also covered large parts of Asia, covering those that want to see Son in the flesh.

I agree.  If we're going to compete we're going to need tourist fans I guess.  At £125, to me the Lower Grounds sounds outrageous.  But I'd probably think that £125 for a ticket to see Barcelona with all you can eat & drink would be brilliant, particularly if there was a pretty hassle-free way to get the tickets.

Kohler were their Official Bathroom Partner (or something similar) and then became their sleeve sponsor for £5m a year.

It's £220 each for two people for Lower Grounds v Forest and a night in the Hilton Garden Inn.  As a tourist price, that doesn't seem too bad to me.

Nah, certainly if it were me then you'd think you're probably looking at that deal thinking ....  £80-£100 for the Hilton, then £60 a pop for a ticket, programme, and a meal.  Seems quite reasonable to me.

Mine for Man U was showing £555.15 for one room for two people and two tickets for the game. Then £318.25 for a room for one person and one ticket.

If my maths skills have not deserted me, that's £236.90 per ticket and £81.35 for the room.

For what it's worth I paid a company £600 to take me to El Claisico at the Bernabeau in 2014.

For £600 I got return flights, 3 nights in a City Centre hotel in Madrid and tickets for the match right on the half way line.

I didn't think that was too bad as a bucket list match ticked off.

The ticket price is pretty irrelevant if you’re coming long distance I reckon. Me and the missus paid about £500 for tickets to see Anthony Joshua lose in Madison Square Garden, but as we spent about 3 grand on the five day trip and did loads of other stuff, the price of the fight tickets didn’t seem that important.

If he was on at Villa Park I think it would be more price sensitive for me.

Purely based on squad and signings I believe we will want to serve the Spanish supporters, whose numbers of interest has likely grown since Emery's reign, as well as the North and South American peoples interest.
It could appears that Joe Gauci, an Australian, is part signed for market reason and it seems a region we are looking to tap into.

This is part of the hypocrisy of Premier League clubs. Lend your season ticket to a mate and they'll ban you, buy a corporate and they don't care.

I agree about the ticket price not being so important if you're travelling.
Im coming over for the Forest game with my son and by the time we've paid for flights, hotel and 3 days dining out the difference between £30 and £55 for match tickets is neither here nor there.

When 8 of us went over to Bosnia in December, we booked a minibus in advance to pick us up from Sarajevo airport for the 3 hour drive to Mostar. When we booked it, we cheekily asked if the driver could get us any tickets for the game. He greeted us at the arrivals and had 4 home tickets for us, face value. That’s what I call a match package. The other 4 tickets we got were from an even more unlikely source…
