My good friend and fellow Villan, JW, finally lost his battle with Leukaemia today. I will remember with fondness our long held match day ritual of a beer at The Vine pre match and post match Balti at The Kababish. JW would often get very stressed as the game came to an end with either cries of ‘ put in the mixer’ if we were losing, or ‘stick in row Z’ if we were winning. Although match attendance was rare during the last few years because of his illness, I would do a full match analysis by phone whilst walking back to the car and his enthusiasm and love for the Villa never wavered.
My regret is that his last match attended was the woeful performance against Stevenage, because of complications he just couldn’t make the match at the end of last season against Spurs which would have been a much better memory for him to take with him on his next journey.
I’ll miss you me old mucker but I know that you’ll now be sitting in that Row Z cheering the lads on.
Special mention to all the staff at UCLH, your care and kindness throughout has been truly wonderful.
Finally, this terrible disease can be eradicated. JW had 12 years of extra life because of the research and work done by the Anthony Nolan Foundation. JW’s daughter will be running the London Marathon to raise money for this fantastic charity, please PM me if you would like the link to her Just Giving page.

Agreed, post the link to the JustGiving page in public. I did for the nominated charity when my grandma died. I got the permission of the mods but they're all good people, willing to help good causes.
I'd be happy to donate.

Thanks Ger and Rory, I didn’t wat to presume it was OK to post a link.

Sorry to hear that Virgil. It's a dreadful disease. At least you were there for him and able to share your passion for Villa.
