Great read Dave.
Thanks Daz.

Is that a typo in the final line or have I missed a reference?

It’s a continuation of the Strange Town quotes.
They worry themselves about feeling low, they worry themselves about the dreadful snow…

But 'get' or 'got'?
-
Done.

Haha, excellent stuff Dave. But are they kind to queers?
-
Good stuff.
One of the many problems with going to Wolves is being betrayed by your accent and manners. ;)

Excellent Mr Woodhall!
Absolutely spot on!

And not being dressed like one of the Bay City Rollers

Brilliant Dave, very creative and clever.

Wonderful opening paragraph!

At least it should be nice and warm now.

I always thought that the words were "Strange Town walk now!". Percy, I believe it was 'Cookie' (Look what became of him: Snobs, Sunflower Lounge, Sun on the Hill...) who sang those misheard lyrics while strutting up and down, back in 1979. This article has set me straight after all these years.

The demographics on this site are to be beheld. You can drop in references to a song from 40 odd years ago that peaked at No. 15 and I would imagine 95% of the readers don't break stride as they sing the first verse to themselves in their heads and remember nights in Bingley Hall!

I was in the last year of junior school when The Jam split up. It felt like the end of the world, like the Queen dying or something.

Yeah, me too.

Every time I write something like this I find myself wondering what the po-faced blog readers think it's all about and where's the Five Things Unai Emery Must Do?

A chap on the Villa coach I used to go on was telling me once that he still hasn't forgiven Weller for splitting The Jam up.

Judging by some of the reaction from the dingle fans you could add Town called Malice to it.
