Great read Dave.

A Uni friend of mine was from Leicester. Her family were Ugandan Asians booted out by that nice Mr Amin
-
Ugandan relations, eh?

Great read Dave.
Thanks Daz.

They inexplicably beat us at Villa Park and that state of affairs has got to be put right, which it will be
Oh dear it was going so well :(

I know a lad from Leicester, big football fan, and he's a top bloke. However, I did the last part of my pub management training in Leicester and it is without doubt the biggest pissant swamp it's ever been my misfortune to live in.

That's funny, I reckon the last job I'd have had you down for was running a pub. I don't mean anything funny by that, just I build vague pictures of other posters in my head (as Sexual Ealing knows) and that information has now altered yours dramatically.

It's not the first time that's happened on here. I remember way back someone said they couldn't picture me in the kebab shop where I was getting my Saturday nighter.

It's my second stint of living in/near Leicester after the first one 25 years ago, and I'm almost getting to like it. It's mostly a gigantic shithole but we've made some good friends in the area, and like anywhere it's the people that make a place. Four of us are going to the match tonight, two Villa, two Crisp Munchers.

Have they got their free issue "clackers"

The city centre is nice enough, but you go out to the inner ring road and it feels like it's sucking the fillings out of your teeth...
-
I don't mind the city centre.
It's that funny high pitched slightly effeminate sounding local accent that does my head in.

It’s fucking awful. I’m really worried that my kids will start to pick it up from school.

I'm happy that by growing up in a village about 12 miles outside of Leicester, I never picked it up. (Or at least I fucking hope not!)
When I had county trials for football, the Leicester lads thought I was posh. My Welsh mum was beaming with pride!
-
We’re about 9 miles east, so I hope the same happens.

Leicester's not that bad. Not when you have places like Wolverhampton, Dover or Stoke knocking about.
