Of which clubs have you visited both their old and current grounds.
For me it's just two so far: Reading and Southampton. London Stadium on the 12th will make West Ham #3
-
Manchester City (& Wembley, not a club).
-
Since I stopped going regularly to matched during the 1980s I have not been to any of the 'new ' grounds at all.
I did however go to Eastville when we played Bristol Rovers in 1971 and in more recent years have been to a couple of Rovers' matches at the Mem. (Memorial Stadium).
-
Clevedon Town - both Teignmouth Road and The Hand Stadium.
-
I've got two.
Man City and Derby County.
-
I've got two.
Man City and Derby County.
Went to Maine Road a couple of times but not yet the Etihad. Never got to the Baseball Ground but have visited Pride Park
-
Doncaster Rovers
Arsenal
Spurs (NFL at the new one)
Shrewsbury Town (England u-21s at new one)
-
Just the one, Coventry, Highfield Road and whatever it was called in 2012 when I went there for the Olympics ladies football.
-
Walsall, Huddersfield, Coventry, Derby, Leicester, Doncaster, Wigan, Manchester City, Bolton, Stoke, Shrewsbury, Hull, Arsenal, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Chester and Reading, plus Villa, Bristol Rovers, Charlton, Wimbledon and Fulham at different grounds.
-
As referenced by Dave W, I went to both the Villa "home" games in the 2000 Intertoto as well.
-
I think Daves won. (Or lost depending on how the visits and results went!!)
-
Sunderland, Stoke, Arsenal, Wembley & Leicester
-
Reading, Oxford, Bristol Rovers and, if you include Bruce Springsteen concerts, Arsenal and Coventry.
-
Arsenal, Man City, Tottenham, Brighton, Leicester, West Ham, Southampton , Coventry, Swansea, Hull, Stoke, Cardiff , Huddersfield , Bolton, Derby, Burton, Walsall, Wembley
-
Walsall, Stoke, Coventry, Chester, Bolton and Wembley
-
I forgot, I've done both Walsall's grounds. Fellowe's Park many times.
-
Walsall, Huddersfield, Coventry, Derby, Leicester, Doncaster, Wigan, Manchester City, Bolton, Stoke, Shrewsbury, Hull, Arsenal, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Chester and Reading, plus Villa, Bristol Rovers, Charlton, Wimbledon and Fulham at different grounds.
Not many then?
-
Arsenal, Sunderland, Leicester, Bolton, Wigan, Northampton, West Ham, Spurs, Man City, Hull, Milton Keynes
-
Arsenal, Fluminense, Vasco da Gama and Wembley. Will add West Ham at some stage as a mate has 2 season tickets there but doesn't live in the UK.
-
Derby, Doncaster, Walsall and Wembley for me.
-
The ones I can remember, in no particular order, are Man City,Scunthorpe,Doncaster,Southampton,Reading,Arsenal,Bolton,Derby,Hull,M'boro,Leicester,Chester,Wigan,Walsall,Swindon,Stoke,Sunderland,
Swansea and Huddersfield.
Does St. Andrews count as different grounds depending on how many stands are open/in existence?
-
Most of Dave W's list (not Huddersfield or Arsenal though) plus Stamford, Brentford, Inverness City, Burton Albion, Curzon Ashton, Morecambe, York City. Can I count Gloucester City as they built a new ground on the site of the old one but a few feet higher?
-
Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Derby, Cardiff, Reading, Sunderland, Man. City, Brighton, Southampton, Swansea, Stoke, Rotherham, Bolton, Shrewsbury, Walsall,
Huddersfield, Middlesbro, Leicester
-
Have been to White Hart Lane and Tottingham's new ground.
Also Selhurst Park and Kingsmeadow; 2 former Wimbledon grounds.
Have been to St Andrews and Damson Park; so Blues current and future stadiums.
-
Oh and both Wembleys
-
Leicester, Man City, Derby, Arsenal, Shrewsbury, Coventry, Wembley.
I've done the old Spurs, West Ham and Brentford grounds but not the new yet.
-
As referenced by Dave W, I went to both the Villa "home" games in the 2000 Intertoto as well.
Yes I went to those. I remember us singing 'what'a it like to see a crowd?'. Think there was about 9,000 of us each time...
-
Oh, and Chesterfield as well.
-
Have been to St Andrews and Damson Park; so Blues current and future stadiums.
There's a point, can we count Moor Green? Watched them loads of times at their old ground before they merged with Solihull Borough and have been to Damson Park a few times.

Slightly strangely I played at the old Solihull Borough ground on Widney Lane as a kid and have played at Damson Park as an adult but have never watched a senior game at either.
-
Bolton, Wigan, Man City, Hull, Middlesborough, Rotherham and Wembley.
The old Wigan and Hull grounds were definitely the most open and soulless grounds I have ever been to.
-
Coventry, Derby, Leicester, Doncaster, Manchester City, Bolton, Stoke, Arsenal, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Brentford, West Ham, Southampton, Oxford, plus Wembley and Charlton/Wimbledon/Fulham at different grounds

I liked Sprigfield Park. I can't say it was vastly different to most lower league grounds of its day to be honest, and soulless isn't a word I'd use. That for me is more the identikit new grounds.
-
Agreed. A lot of the old grounds had a lot going for them.
Derby's Baseball Ground was a good example -stands that were tight to the pitch. On cup nights, the atmosphere was amazing.
-
Tend to find new Bowl grounds more soulless. They're usually stuck on a motorway nowhere near the centre of town/city and are a bit indentikit.
Reading comes to mind, although the game I went to there was a Cracker.
-
Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Man City, Wembley. Been to both Coventrys (Coventries?) but only seen concerts at the new edition, a California funk rock band whose name I don't recall and Bruce Springsteen.
-
Derby, Man City, Leicester, Middlesbrough, Arsenal, Wembley, Walsall.
-
I've been to Spurs as well but wasn't sure if it counted if it's on the same site?
-
Aresenal, Man City, Southampton, Hull City, Middlesbrough, Stoke, Sunderland, Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers, Derby County, Oxford United, Shrewsbury Town, Doncaster Rovers, Walsall, and Chester. Plus old and new Wembley. Wimbledon at the original Plough Lane then Selhurst Park. If I'm really stretching it, Paget Rangers at 5 different places.. Springfield Road Walmley, Castle Vale, Boldmere St Michaels, Sutton Town, and the old Gas ground in Erdington. Admittedly Boldmere and Sutton wasn't to watch Paget, and the Gas ground was for a function.
-

Wigans Springfield Park was certainly very open, Lancashires answer to The Shay at Halifax. I think both of them has Speedway tracks round the pitch.
As for Hull City being souless, I can remember sitting in the stand seeing trains arriving at Boothferry Park Halt. The railway station operated purely for match days.

I've played on all of those Paget pitches listed

I'm fairly certain Springfield Park never had a speedway track, at least it didn't when I was there. There used to be a speedway track in another part of Wigan called Poolstock, but that was demolished in the 70s I think.
-
What was the fucking point of Speedway exactly?

I've checked, your right. But it was used by almost anybody vaguely wigany and most sports other than speedway.
The stadium had previously been home to Wigan County, Wigan United, Wigan Town, and Wigan Borough (previously Wigan United and Wigan Association) as well as Wigan and Springfield Borough rugby league sides. It was also used for horse trotting, as a track cycling velodrome, for wrestling and for athletics
You can see the horse trotting here. Not sure which carriage Nii Lamptey was in.

When I visited ...

Didn’t get to Wellington Road then? No nor me for some reason but surely in this day and age it can be computer generated so we can all go there virtually. In fact I’d love to be able to walk around the original Villa Park that way too, and a 1960s version so I can run down the bank at the back of the old Witton End one more time before I keel over.
