Attacking team. Moreno starts as does McGinn, Coutinho and Buendia.
-
Looks very attacking. Where will McGinn play?
-
You can delete this one please.
-
Win please Villa.
-
Come on you Lions!
-
The line up is a very narrow and arrow shape. Let's hope we do penetrate through the middle.
-
We go on about our subs bench. They’ve got 54 year Old Patrick viera on theirs.
-
Only one keeper on the bench concerns.
-
I didn't put 'thread'. I know it's a thread.
-
Come on me Villa babbies!
-
We go on about our subs bench. They’ve got 54 year Old Patrick viera on theirs.
Luckily we sold our 65 years old striker to West Ham.
-
Pleased with that line-up! The only thing I might have done differently would have been to start with Duran in place of either Coutinho or Buendia to give them something different to think about. Nice to see Traore back! UTV!
-

He'd still come on, waltz through our midfield, defence, round EMI and slot the winner.
-
Some signs I think Coutinho will score today. I think the line up is brilliant. Though I'm concerned on Cash and McGinn following instructions its good opportunity for them. Emery long team meeting will see all are aware what to do.
Ref Simon Hopper Aston Villa never lost at home in 7 times when he's been official.
-
Why is McGinn still captain when he doesn't speak Spanish?
-
Tom Hanks in attendance. Think it might be the first time?
Anyway, line up not bad, hope Duran gets on at some point though.
-

In royal quarters this is Prince William (Villa)vs Prince Harry (Arsenal)
-
Trossard starting for the first time. I think I know where this is going.
-
Joe Cole, Peter Crouch and Martin Keown all on the bench.
BT sport. Villa old boys. All very respectful.
-
Why is McGinn still captain when he doesn't speak Spanish?
Can only assume the reason he's been out so long is because he was taking intensive Spanish lessons, maybe in Dublin.
-

Hopefully it won’t end in a scuffle again.
-
Really good line up I think. Think we’ll get a positive result today, come on Villa
-
A win please. I like the line up too.
UYV
-
Happy with the team, hopefully Phil continues his form from last week, also would like to see big Jhon get at least 20 mins.
-
Why is McGinn still captain when he doesn't speak Spanish?
Can only assume the reason he's been out so long is because he was taking intensive Spanish lessons, maybe in Dublin.
He could well have doubled up with an English course.
-
Interesting hearing about expectations Purslow said its going to be a very busy summer.
Crouch says our fan expectations are a hindrance.
Keown says from all clubs he was at that us Villa fans are the most difficult to please and unforgiving.

Well he probably had a double of something! But good luck to Ginny today. Hopefully he'll be shackling Saka.
-
Joe Cole, Peter Crouch and Martin Keown all on the bench.
This reiterates what a disaster our January window was.

Harry didn't fight back.
-
Those moaning about two goalies on a 9 man bench are already winners now whatever the result ;D
-
Joe Cole, Peter Crouch and Martin Keown all on the bench.
This reiterates what a disaster our January window was.
Cole and Crouch we had at the end and start of careers. They were quality players elsewhere
Keown speaks fondly and sounded like he did well at Villa despite getting relegated.
-
I sense that Coutinho will score today and cause them problems.
I would have like Duran to have started, but equally at the expense of who? Will be good to see Coutinho and Buendia together too.
-
Those moaning about two goalies on a 9 man bench are already winners now whatever the result ;D
To be honest, as someone who has been whinging about how thin the squad is - that bench is perfectly balanced and capable.
Let's just hope we don't pick up any injuries.
-

Crouch says our fan expectations are a hindrance.
Keown says from all clubs he was at that us Villa fans are the most difficult to please and unforgiving.
I thought you just said that they were all being respectful to us!
-

Coutinho 4 goals in 10 games v Arsenal. And think another day also.
2 number 10s in tandem.
Lets go Villa!
-
Strong side for us. Come on you Villa boys.
-
Ashley Young had half term for his kids so possible bit tired and Cash gets his chance.
-
Close enough to the line up I wished for last week. Can live with Buendia over Duran for now.
Like that side. Just praying Coutinho follows up some positive recent sub appearances and returns to the form we saw early doors.
-
Bert on the bench too. Let's have some absolute filth today please my man.
The bench is quite strong actually. BUT WE HAVE NO SQUADZ!!!
-
Looks very attacking. Where will McGinn play?
RM I hope. How to fit 2 x no.10s into a coherent setup remains the key challenge. Coutinho off Watkins and Buendia in off the left again I expect.
Bold selection from Emery. An important day for a number of players... Likes of Cash and Coutinho to turn around their careers at Villa Park. Moreno to deal with someone like Saka and establish himself at first choice. McGinn too, key player under Gerrard and a chance to remind us all of his qualities. High scoring game coming up.
-
Bench much stronger than it has been for a few weeks.
-
Why is McGinn still captain when he doesn't speak Spanish?
I heard he did an intensive course a few weeks back in Dublin.
-
That line up should move the ball about quickly!
3.1 Villa
-
Bench much stronger than it has been for a few weeks.
Might be the strongest bench we have had in the PL since we came back up.
-
Radio 5 Live.
Programme started at 12:00
Apart from reading out our team and saying the Tom Hanks is at the game, not a single mention of
Villa. Arsenal Citeh, Newcastle etc.etc.etc.
Dick sucking big 6 sycophants.
Finally, the Scottish Cafu is on at 1228.
-

This reiterates what a disaster our January window was.
Cole and Crouch we had at the end and start of careers. They were quality players elsewhere
Keown speaks fondly and sounded like he did well at Villa despite getting relegated.
I was absolutely disgusted listening to TalkSport this morning and hearing Tony Cascarino say he hoped Arsenal would bounce back and win today.
-
Show them no respect, Villa!
-
Odds on a dubious decision Arsenal's way to even up last week?
-
Not kicking towards the Holte, what's going on :)
-
Afternoon all, come on Villa!
-
SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRCHIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
Get in!!
-
cmon!!!!
-
Missed it!
-
Get in
-
Brilliant Ollie
-
Odds on a dubious decision Arsenal's way to even up last week?
Agreed. The fact that the media have not shut the fuck up about it all week, despite ignoring most other decisions that don't affect the "sky six", would suggest the the pressure is on the officials to 'atone' for the previous officials error...
-
YESSSS!!!
-
Superb from Matty Cash in the build up and a great finish. Watkins has 4 in 4 since Ings left, maybe that debate can stop now?
-
Fantastic goal.
-
Classic Ollie (including the shit first touch)
-
What a goal!!!
Watching the game in the Watering Hole in Perranporth.
-
Fantastic hit son
-
Ollie now 4 in 4. Really stepping up in the last few games… great to see
-
I've been hard on Watkins in the past but that was a really well taken goal. Fantastic.
-
Yesssssssssssss
Love ya Ollie!
-
Watkins has his critics, including me, but if he maintained this form he could be our number 9 for years. Keep going, Ollie.
Fantastic from Cash too.
-
Get in! Thought he's messed up but he quickly recovered with a clinical and typical finish. Brilliant!
-
No card for a blatant dive by Nketiah
-
Great from Mings just.
-
No card for a blatant dive by Nketiah
Right in front of the ref, no less.
Is Ollie limping?
-
Nice work Mingsy
-
Even Townsend called that a dive! Not "game management" or "he had a right to go down".
-
I see the cockerney bellends are as shit at math as they are with social interactions with their pathetic "before you were born" nonsense in reply to the "champions of europe" chant... Imbeciles.
-
Hes not injured.
Wow Mings. Great clearance!
-
4-3-3 is working great in attacking sense.
-
No card for a blatant dive by Nketiah
This is the sort of thing I think VAR should be able to alert the ref to, it's very clear and doesn't need any debate, just book him at the next break in play. Everyone watching the game knows he cheated but because the ref missed it he gets away with it.
-
1-1 Arsenal score
-
1-1.
-
Oh well
-
Pinball.. lucky.
-
Came on to say Watkins goal was superb.
Just seen we conceded ffs.
-
Nevermind.
-
Great goal from Saka tbf.
-
Dammit
-
Martinez should have got a hand to that.
-
Lovely knockdown
-
Poor from Mings, put it out for a corner. Headed it back into trouble
-
I would love a clean sheet.
-
We haven't been able to get cleanly on the ball for a while now. Just needed to calm it down and keep it.
-
FFS that was coming.
-
Martinez should have got a hand to that.
;D

I don’t think the ref missed it, he just chose not to book him

He gave a free kick didn't he?
-
Really poor so far
-
Fook. Assist from Mings.
-
The free kick came two or three niggly challenges after the dive.
-
Should Mings have headed that cross out rather than back into the penalty area?
-
Mings will be in the video room with the coaching team for 6 hours rewatching that. Tsk!
-
How long is that contract? ??? ::)
-
It was a great finish but terrible defending from Mings. If Martinez gives him a shout it's an easy catch, it not head it back the way it came or out for a corner.
-
yo Buendia, wake tf up.
-
yo Buendia, wake tf up.
Been wasteful with the ball on numerous occasions already.
-

The cross was behind Mings soIt was a great finish but terrible defending from Mings. If Martinez gives him a shout it's an easy catch, it not head it back the way it came or out for a corner.
The cross was "behind" Mings so there was virtually no chance he could head it out for a corner

He gave a free kick didn't he?
No, the play went on and then stopped a few phases later, that was when Mings was asking him to be booked.
-
Mings straight back in with the away goal assist. He really does need upgrading in the summer.
-
Moreno still failing to convince.
-
Very nice opening 10 minutes but Arsenal been well on top since then.
We need to string some passes together.
-
Been too cheap giving possession away with loose passes and poor decisions. Need to sort that out.
-
If Mings spoke Spanish, he would have cleared that ball adequately.
-
That would be a booking at the other end.
-
That would be a booking at the other end.
Definitely.
-
Whenever something like this happens, I’m frantically pressing refresh on here. Just in case.
-
Coutinho going to be hooked at half time I think.
Liability out of possession in this one.
-
Whenever something like this happens, I’m frantically pressing refresh on here. Just in case.
Me too. H&V is better than teletext.
-
Nketiah and Saka really should try playing in boots so they don't fall over so much.
-
Martinez has put it long a few times. Seems we've stopped trying to play between centrebacks - good call from Emergy if so.
-
Coutinho going to be hooked at half time I think.
Liability out of possession in this one.
Yep, you can see why he doesn’t start. There’s a world of difference coming in and looking good when you’re 3-0 down.
-
SCOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRCHIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
2-1.
-
Coutinhooooooooooooooooooo...
Sorry Phil you can stay on for an hour if you fancy.
2-1 out of nothing.
-
Coutinho going to be hooked at half time I think.
Liability out of possession in this one.
Erm....
-
We’re playing football boys!
-
Fucking get in!
-
Coutinho going to be hooked at half time I think.

Hmm 😂
-
I knew he would today! Brilliant.
-
Great stuff Phil
-
What a super little goal...
-
YESSSSS!!!!!!
What a beautiful goal!!
-
Brilliant goal, outstanding football
-
What a fucking goal. The dummy from Buendia.
-
Hear a breathtaking goal man
-
Whenever something like this happens, I’m frantically pressing refresh on here. Just in case.
Me too. H&V is better than teletext.
Absolutely.
-
Get in your beauty!
-
Moreno is fine for me, played a nice part in the goal there.
Need to calm down now and slow the tempo up to half time, don't want this to be turning into a basketball match.
-
What a thing of beauty
-
Get in your beauty!
She's gone out.
-
Brilliant move
-
Excellent goal. Love it!
-
Brilliant goal
-
football ladies and gentlemen.
-
Moreno is fine for me, played a nice part in the goal there.
Need to calm down now and slow the tempo up to half time, don't want this to be turning into a basketball match.
Moreno has looked a little out of sync a few times but I agree, I think there's a good player in there.
-
Fuck me that goal was SEXEH.
-

I kinda think that's true of the whole team. Some good ideas for passes and moves but just not on the same wavelength at times. It'll come I think.
-
Get in your beauty!
She's gone out.
:D
-
That goal was easily the best move of the game from either side, it's rare to see a goal and think there's nothing the defence could do.
-
That should be a red for Saka...
-
Saka's a great player but he's got that typical top player chip mentality on him.
I remember last year he was moaning we were fouling him all game and in the end it was just 3 fouls over the 90 minutes.
-
Saka left one on Moreno there, lino a few yards away
-
wtf, over top of the ball and caught Moreno with every one of his studs.. no card?!
-
That’s nasty on Alex. VAR should look at that.
-
Where is the card ref?
-

Phil goal
https://twitter.com/ssb_Goku_/status/1626930865442807811
-
Need to concentrate now.
Last two games we've conceded two goals in each in the 40-45 minute period.
-
That should be a red for Saka...
And shock horror, yada yada, its not...
-
Ginny made a good recovery tackle, but I have the impression he has been the weakest link in an otherwise strong team. He appears to be a little lost and can see how difficult it is for him to think about how to pass and where and when to position himself and press. I believe the rest of the team in 4-3-3 has performed admirably. Come on McGinn get going.
-
Ref needs a talking to at half.
-
That ref looks like me running for a bus after six pints of Stella.
-
3 times now Buendía needless kicks out of play with awful passing. Sometimes hes far too excited. Needs more composure like for the goal for Coutinho
-
No wine today, but have an excellent bottle of Assyrtiko from Santorini to open up later on tonight.
-
Townsend really getting on my tits.He wants Arsenal, as does Matterface on the radio.
-

Favouring the Sky clubs is a pre-requisite of working for the media.
-
Saka should absolutely be off already.
-
Townsend really getting on my tits.He wants Arsenal, as does Matterface on the radio.
Favouring the Sky clubs is a pre-requisite of working for the media.
Same on the BBC website. Only one team counts, seemingly.
-
Saka finally sees something yellow from the Refs pocket.
Deserved.
-
The burning question, is Doug’s updated blonde look good for our chances or will it long term be seen as a negative?
-
Half time.
-
Enjoyed seeing Phil fired up like that tbh.
-
The burning question, is Doug’s updated blonde look good for our chances or will it long term be seen as a negative?
He scored that unbelievable goal in one of his early games for us with the platinum hair, so I'm all for it!
-
Saka is the sort of player that, if I was playing my last game before I retired, I'd give a slap with a few minutes left on the clock. He really needs to stop being such an arrogant little shit.
-
Ref needs a talking to at half.
Hooper is a good omen . We've never lost in 7 times at Villa Park he's officiated us.
-
Very good first half overall, bit of fire in the belly, good link up play and 2 excellent goals.
-
OK good. The worrying thing is we lead twice again Leicester and lost the game and Ollie has scored in both previous matches and not won the game. Come on Villa make it different today.
-
Saka finally sees something yellow from the Refs pocket.
Deserved.
Yes his reaction given what he did to Moreno was ridiculous.
-
There really is this agenda in the media to complain whenever Villa do a bit of "game management". It cant be a conscious agenda, because its across all media platforms, & they arent going to simply decide they hate Villa, but it is noticeable from most commentators to bitch about our "game management", yet praise the opposition for doing it while calling it "clever"...
-
Good to be in the lead.
Arsenal will have heavy legs and not so many options to switch things from the bench so we need to get on the ball a bit and move them about.
Good at least we've got a manager who can run the game down with 5 subs, got some interesting options on the bench to manage this.
-
Absolutely buzzing for Coots, he needed that. He's going to explode now. That goal will put a spring in his step and a fire in his belly.
-
Playing well but still giving the ball away to easily. Two great goals.
-
What are people making of Captain McGinns half?
Think he's done a few tackles but not seeing him fit in our play.
Seems bewildered. But then so did Ramsey in recent matches.
-
Good half that.
Can't fathom why Saka didn't get a card of some description for slamming his studs into Moreno's shin. We need to keep winding him up in the second half, and he'll be off.
-
We have played well and matched them for the most part. They had all the possession for the period before their goal but we grew back into the game from there. We've played some nice, quick, technical stuff, like for the goal, and I've loved seeing it.
It still feels like we have more to give too. We're not at our limit.
-
Can we bring back Prize Where It Lies? That was more fun than these penalties.
-
What are people making of Captain McGinns half?
Think he's done a few tackles but not seeing him fit in our play.
Seems bewildered. But then so did Ramsey in recent matches.
Does the off the ball stuff better than Ramsey, so offering more on current form. Only had 45 minutes against Arsenal first game back.
-
What are people making of Captain McGinns half?
Think he's done a few tackles but not seeing him fit in our play.
Seems bewildered. But then so did Ramsey in recent matches.
He probably just has a bit of rust. He's done some nice stuff. With a run of games I'm sure he'll grow in stature.
-
Must be some secret embargo on us not entering the top half. Just checked the league table and we're still stuck in 11th even if we win!
-
So please for Coutinho that he got that goal.
-
What are people making of Captain McGinns half?
He needs to work on his velar enunciation of 'jota'.
-
Absolutely buzzing for Coots, he needed that. He's going to explode now. That goal will put a spring in his step and a fire in his belly.
RIP Phil.
-
OK good. The worrying thing is we lead twice again Leicester and lost the game and Ollie has scored in both previous matches and not won the game. Come on Villa make it different today.
Today feels different, and under El Maestro, this is a good opportunity for players to demonstrate what they've learned, even if it wasn't all the same team of players.
I'm hoping for a more 3-1 Manchester United home performance than a 2-4 Leicester performance in the second half.
-
So please for Coutinho that he got that goal.
Me too, mate.
-
Loving Coutinho's hair. It's taken years off him.
-
Saka finally sees something yellow from the Refs pocket.
Deserved.
He shouldn't be on the pitch in the first place.
That ankle stomp on Moreno deserved a straight red, no questions, straight down the tunnel to cry in the shower.
Its then doubly suspect because he should have at least got a yellow, at the very least, which would mean that the yellow he received just before HT would have been his second yellow, no questions, straight down the tunnel to cry in the shower.
So he should have been red carded on two separate occasions...
I wonder if the media & the officials in charge of the officials will have a week long bitch fest about how Villa have been fucked over? Twice.
Rhetorical question...
-
Must be some secret embargo on us not entering the top half. Just checked the league table and we're still stuck in 11th even if we win!
Really feels like it doesn't it.
-
We will see changes second half, can't see Phil lasting past sixty and McGinn short of match practice.
-
So far so good. Nicely worked goals. I thought we nullified them towards the end of the half which we need to do.
-
Loving Coutinho's hair. It's taken years off him.
Where are you with the colour of Emery's gillet?
Maybe its a lucky one!
-
What are people making of Captain McGinns half?
Think he's done a few tackles but not seeing him fit in our play.
Seems bewildered. But then so did Ramsey in recent matches.
He's probably still drunk from his weekend on the lash...
..or more likely, he is just a bit shit.
-
Loving Coutinho's hair. It's taken years off him.
Well it certainly taken hairs off him.
-
Ton Hanks is enjoying the game.

-
Let's hope that was our shit half.
-
Arsenal will come out guns firing, we'll need to be up for, well done so far Villa.
-
Good half but need to tighten up at the back.
-
Ton Hanks is enjoying the game.

Die Villa hinauf Mein Führer!
-
We will see changes second half, can't see Phil lasting past sixty and McGinn short of match practice.
Plenty of options today. Both playing well, giving a lot to the cause without the ball. One player annoying me is Martinez. Fair enough slow the game down in injury time but if either of our CMs are free give them the ball quickly.
-
Quick, turn the sprinklers back on!
-
Ton Hanks is enjoying the game.

66 years young and enjoying his first live match at VP.
Wonder if he got a shout out over the tannoy at half time amongst all the other fans.
-
Arsenal will come out guns firing, we'll need to be up for, well done so far Villa.
Well they are the Gunners.
-
Must be some secret embargo on us not entering the top half. Just checked the league table and we're still stuck in 11th even if we win!
Really feels like it doesn't it.
Right now I'm not arsed about our league position, I prefer to judge the team on points. Keep raking them in and our league position will take care of itself.
-
It's because Fulham, Brentford and Brighton are in equally good form. What's happening is the gap to Liverpool and Chelsea (plus Newcastle and Spurs, but they're miles away) is tightening. Keep going and all of a sudden we'll take a handful of positions.
Big ask though and need to get over the line here first. I remember looking at the the live league table when we were 2-0 up against Wolves with 10 mins left...
-
Good half but need to tighten up at the back.
Yep we can score goals, we just need to hold up better.
-
Ref is giving nothing to Buendia or Luiz, really strange. Blatant stuff..
-
We’re being pinned back at the moment.
My Spanish commentators seem to be loving this.
-
Equaliser's coming. Saka's got Moreno on toast.
-
Did they used to insist players had treatment off the pitch?
-
Equaliser's coming. Saka's got Moreno on toast.
I think Digne might be coming on at some point. A more defensive LB might help.
-
Yep agreed.
-
Seems JJ is coming on
-
Seems JJ is coming on
Eep.
-
Coutinho off for Ramsey
-
That's a foul on Cash for me, jumping above someone is fine but when you put your weight on the back of their head/neck to stay up it becomes dangerous.
-
Listening to Talk Shite commentary of Arsenal playing someone. I think Arsenal must be 4 or 5 up as the team hasn't been mentioned except that whoever it is has been nasty to Saka who has been a saint
-
2-2 Arsenal score
-
That’s been coming hasn’t it?
-
Shit
-
2-2 Arsenal score
FFS
-
Was coming. It’s been all them
-
Phil off, JJ on.
-
Bollocks
-
Yep been coming.
-
Bollocks.
-
Unacceptable not to close down and for Ollie to watch it go by.. my lord.
-
****** will go on to win the game now.
-
Damn damn damn
-
Caught out again.
-
That goal was as poorly defended as the goal Stevenage scored against us. Didn’t get out and account for the player on the edge of the box
-
Completely switched off.
-
We all know what happens next.
-
We haven't been able to play our game this half at all.
-
I'd take the draw now
-
Since Stevenage, our defence has looked shaky.
For a while we were looking solid, but for some reason, it’s changed of late.
-
Saka is the sort of player that, if I was playing my last game before I retired, I'd give a slap with a few minutes left on the clock. He really needs to stop being such an arrogant little shit.
Yes.
-
Gaping chasm on the edge of the box when that was taken. I hate seeing that.
-
Mings is fast asleep too often today
-
Poor goal to concede.
Dopey defending. Far too passive this half
-
Ton Hanks is enjoying the game.

Meanwhile, here in France, on Canal+...

Today feels different, and under El Maestro, this is a good opportunity for players to demonstrate what they've learned, even if it wasn't all the same team of players.
I'm hoping for a more 3-1 Manchester United home performance than a 2-4 Leicester performance in the second half.
Can you please stop with the El Maestro silliness. I beg you.
-
Set piece coach stealing a living
-
Bailey and Dendonkar to come on. Hm.
-
Our defending is just not consistent enough. Too many lapses of concentration.
-
Emi, fucking Christ, stop kicking it out.
-
Dendoncker and Bailey coming on.
-
How big does Martinez think Moreno is?
-
Luiz and Emi B off, Dendoncker and Bailey on
-

Word-filter that shit!
-
Not a fan of this playing out from the back. We're very vulnerable when pressed.
-
Oh ace. Bailey.
-

Yes.
Absolutely yes
-
Mcginn should be subbed not Douglas Luiz
-
Martinez isn't playing well today.
-
Oh ace. Bailey.
Bailey as a sub isn’t the worst idea. As long he doesn’t spend the time he has running into defenders and giving it away.
-
We have an ordinary team on the pitch now.😟
-
Just don't lose villa. That would be hard to take after taking the lead twice.
-
How big does Martinez think Moreno is?
He's done that twice and blames others. Martinez must do that pass better.
-

What do you think he will do?
-
Just don't lose villa. That would be hard to take after taking the lead twice.
We've seen this film before...
-
Martinez isn't playing well today.
Always worries me when we play Arsenal. They always seem to get at him with the mind games
-
I don't understand how a team can go into the half looking like they can play football, at times, & then come out from the half time team talk looking like they have never met before.
Our back four are too shit for this playing out from the back malarky. Its like asking a pig to fly a Boeing 747...
-
Just don't lose villa. That would be hard to take after taking the lead twice.
Yes, sort of thing teams in bottom 3 do.
-
Going to have to trust Emery on these subs and alterations.
Hoping Ramsey can get involved
Think Kamara has been back to his excellent self.
-
How big does Martinez think Moreno is?
He's done that twice and blames others. Martinez must do that pass better.
His complaint was that he was given the ball with very little time, which is fair.
-
Martinez is 12/1 to be booked.
-
Digne and Duran coming on
-
Duran to score the winner.
-
Bailey is an instant turnover today.
-
Been a tough watch second half.
Martinez needs to stop time wasting.
Saka has far too much space.
Our midfield really needs to get a grip.
-
There’s just a depressing inevitability about this game.
-
Tame effort McGinn. Sort it out!
-
Phew
-
Omg Konsa
-
Sitter of the season
-
WTF
-
Good miss there.
-
It feels like we're playing after having a player sent off.
-
Wow what a let off.
-
Bailey. Just a waste
-
Ollie and Moreno off
-
Fannying about from the back again.
-
Absolute sitter
-
Jesus. That was close.
-
Some (most) of our defence isn't good enough to play out form the back the amount of time we do it
-
How can we be so so casual so often! Just bewilders me.
-
Jesus. That was close.
Thank goodness Jesus isn’t playing for them.
-
Bailey just hit the fucker
-
That pressing from Duran is great
-
Fannying about from the back again.
I absolutely hate it.
We aren't good enough to do it, and every time Konsa or Mings have the ball, I fear the worst.
-
Bailey needs to just shoot
-
Bailey's gonna Bailey.
-
Just hit it Bailey! Why cut back onto your right, when you're only going to have to come back onto your left anyway
-
Feel delightfully tense again now.
-
Off the bar!!
-
We’ve seen this story before. Jesus 90 plus 8 off his crutch. Which will be deemed legal as there’s no rule regarding crutches which will be corrected on Monday with an apology.
-
Bailey hits bar
-
Bailey is like me in cheese-fuelled dreams: I seem to be naked, falling over all the time and never actually getting anywhere.
-
Bailey ffs
-
If Bailey could just be a touch more decisive, he'd be some player. He loves to over play it.
-
Bailey s
Just hit it Bailey! Why cut back onto your right, when you're only going to have to come back onto your left anyway
And then smashes a beauty on his right 😂
-
Just an inch lower, that would have been incredible.
-
Ramsdale got a touch on it
-
It was a great save
-
Just an inch lower, that would have been incredible.
Wasn't it saved?
-
Emi booked?
-
It was saved, but that inch would have made all the difference!
-
If you asked me now, I'd bite your hand off for three points.
-
but that inch would have made all the difference!
That's what she said
-
It was saved, but that inch would have made all the difference!
An inch higher would probably have been better
-
If you asked me now, I'd bite your hand off for three points.
Saudis taken us over ?
-
Martinez is 12/1 to be booked.
Easy money.
-
but that inch would have made all the difference!
That's what she said
Giggle.
It would have been great if it wasn’t for Ramsdale’s fingers.
-
If we can manage not to lose this game, I will be very surprised.
-
This ref is desperate to give them everything.
The commentator on the stream I'm watching (don't know who he is, but Andy Townsend is next to him) is utterly desperate for them to win, also.
Come on Villa. Ruin it for these wankers
-
I’m entering the world of the 85th minute puckering sphincter again.
-
I feel physically sick.
-
This ref is desperate to give them everything.
If we score there wll 16 mins of injury time if they score there will be 2
-

I just said the same thing. Commentators are pathetically bias.
-
I just want a late winner from Duran.
-
6 mins added time
-
I would love Duran just to pop up and bury one deep in injury time.
-
Arteta really is a prick. You can tell he's learnt from Pep.
-
Was that a Tarquin with a half-and-half scarf they showed there. FFS!
-
Arteta is a right ****** isn't he.
-
I just want a late winner from Duran.
Beat me to it.
-
Ramsdale saves
-
They are so much more comfortable with the ball. It’s a different game watching teams like Arsenal or Man City. But it’s still 2-2. I’ll take that and build from it
-
I would Saka to pop up and pop the winner past Ramsdale. ******!
-
2-3 Arsenal score
-
Obviously, Bailey was nowhere near the rebound from Duran's effort.
-
Fuck off!!!!!
-
Fucking fluke. hits the bar and then hits Emi
-
Fucking hell
-
Jammy jammy cockney fuckers
-
3 defeats in a row.
-
Bollocks
-
Fuck off!!!!!
I know PWS is annoying when he ruins the action but that is a bit harsh.
-
Unlucky!!! We played so well
-
Ah Fuuuuuuuuuck
-
Fuck off
-
We have to stop conceding three goals a game
-
Bollox
-
Ffs I hate football. Every time.
-
FFS.
-
Fuck off.
-
I hate my life.
Another open player at the top of the box.. totally unacceptable. God I fucking hate this.
-
It just never fucking ends this shit.
-
That fucking horrible.
-
We leave too much space at the edge of the box.
-
Fuck off!!!!!
I know PWS is annoying when he ruins the action but that is a bit harsh.
There goes my Saturday!
There was literally nothing that anyone could do about that. Total and utter fluke.
-
I think we all knew that would happen.
-
It always ends this way for us. Fucking always
-
We leave too much space at the edge of the box.
It’s happening every fucking week, multiple times a week. Figure it the fuck out.
-
Really unlucky that went in off Emi's bonce.
-
Just dropping too deep and leaving the edge of the box undefended. We did it for their second too.
-
I hate it, but Martinez has been a time wasting wanker all game.
-
Sigh.
-
Our defence is crap
-
No complaints. Awful second half performance
-
Sky absolutely loved that goal. What utter ******.
-
No complaints. Awful second half performance
Hardly awful.
-
4-2
-
2-4
-
Hate those fuckers
-
Incredibly harsh on us
-
Our defence is crap
We're not much cop up front
And as for our midfield..
-
And when you think it can't get any worse, it obviously does. Fuck football.
-
Our defence is crap
We can't seem to get the balance right.
Arsenal play a few passes and suddenly they create large gaps and they're on the edge of our box. Shouldn't be happening given we have 4-5 CMs on the pitch.
We were just clinging on for a draw in the end bar the odd break but has a feel of season over with that late goal.
-
I hate football
-
Weekend over
-
Stop it.
-
Fuck off arse.
-
Don't like Arsenal
Don't like Saka
Don't like our defence or the way we try to play it out.
-
Fuck this. League, refs and commentators got what they wanted.
This game is fucked.
-
Full time.
Very harsh on us. A fluke winner and then a 4th when the keeper is up for a corner
-
Who played on Wednesday again?
Were reactive to the loose balls so much in second half.
-
Arsenal score in the 8th minute of the 6 added minutes.
-
Defensivelt we are so shit.
-
That's our villa all over
-
We manage to concede 8 goals at home in 2 games. Speaks volumes about where the real issues lie.
-
Full time.
Very harsh on us. A fluke winner and then a 4th when the keeper is up for a corner
I’d like it to be harsh on someone else where we score a fluke winner. Fuck me
-
A choice between thunderbird lead ****** and that arrogant wanker Saka, or that prick pep and Uber ****** Grealish
I give up.
-
We manage to concede 8 goals at home in 2 games. Speaks volumes about where the real issues lie.
The goalkeeper?
-
Defensive issues, but that third really was a freak thing. Both sides had smacked the bar but ours rebounds right onto Emi's head. Ah well.
-
Get that fucking joker out of our club.
-
A choice between thunderbird lead ****** and that arrogant wanker Saka, or that prick pep and Uber ****** Grealish
I give up.
Fingers crossed for nuclear war.
-
We never hold on in these games. As soon as the screw is turned we fucking crumble under mistakes and poor concentration.
-
Get that fucking joker out of our club.
Which one?
-
Get that fucking joker out of our club.
...who's that you're talking about now there.
-
We manage to concede 8 goals at home in 2 games. Speaks volumes about where the real issues lie.
Absolutely, yet the world class manager still persists with this passing around in our own box. 11 goals in the last three games.
-
Back to the good old days of allowing 20+ shots in a game against us.
-
We could just have as easily won that 4-2 at the end. But, you know, Villa...
-
Unlucky, we were excellent today
-
Still speechless
-
However they come 11 goals against in 3 games is piss poor.
-
I am sick to the back teeth of this shit...
-
Played some good stuff but we really are - and have been for some time - the drippiest, softest side in the prem.
-
Do we ever score late winners or just there as a fucking jolly boys outing for other clubs to score late winners against? When was our last late winner? Man Utd away nearly 18 months ago?
-
Some might think it was a madcap game full of surprises, yet why am I not at all surprised? That was pure unadulterated Villa.
My biggest gripe in the game, and a lot of games this season is that we seem really cumbersome with pressing or moments where the ball is pinging around and it inevitably ends up with the opponents breaking on us. Too many slow players. Too many players with a poor touch (which is particularly evident with playing out from the back).
Yeah, we saw some good moments today, but the shit outnumbered it some way.
We've got the tough games out the way. We can't just concede that "it's City" or "it's Arsenal." There's no excuses in the next two.
I'm not convinced with this system defensively, and right now, though we look like scoring, we also look like we'll concede 2-3 (at least) every game and we can't play a side as monumentally shit as Leeds or Southampton (both of whom outplayed us if we're being honest) every week.
This is the true test of Emery coming. Gerrard started well and then couldn't arrest a slump and turn it around. We've got to be a bit more pragmatic. I think he needs to acknowledge that we're too easy to manoeuvre around, too open and that we're still exceptionally shit from set pieces (both ends). Maybe this will benefit us next season but the worry is that you hit a system and style all guns blazing and sink under it. Gerrards shitty narrow (and tactically naive) 4-3-3 system buried him. We're making the same errors on repeat, even putting aside the misfortune of their third.
-
Get that fucking joker out of our club.
Who?
