Sanson lives.
-
Like it, a nice blend of strength and rotation. An opportunity for Sanson to shine. 8)
-
Safe to say that team should beat a League Two side. I mean, it really should.
Really.
Seriously.
Right?
-
Strong team, I think I'd have liked a few more youngsters in the 20, maybe not starting but 2 or 3 up with half an hour on the clock would be a good chance to give a few debuts.
-
Nice to see Ramsey back on the bench too.
-
Like the look of that, can see a few having a field day maybe, possibly, hopefully.
-
Win please.
-
The type of football that Stevenage play, if they have carried on from when I saw them early season, is to sling every ball into the box and chase down and unsettle defenders, picking up loose balls or get on slip up from defenders. If this is the case let’s hope those defenders are on top of their game.
-

Yeah, this.
-
A few rested. Ings as captain is interesting.

Fantastic line up. Makes sense with Leeds on Friday.
Olsen is our cup goalie. Trusted.
And enough there to put 4 to 5 goals in.
Hope everyone gets behind Bailey though worry he may get injured as there are a few rough necks in their team.
He's definitely got a chance to score though!
El Maestro has spoken
I wonder who we get next round!?
Up The Villa
-
Is Nakamba actually dead?
-
Just win in this round for a change please.

I reckon this Gnonto fella will end up at ManU, he's certainly perfected their key tactic of being close to death everytime someone goes near him.
Oops, wrong thread.
-
Stevenage appear to only have six subs. You’d have thought they’d have brought three youth team players to stick on the bench and enjoy the experience even if they had no intention of using them.
-
No tv coverage for this game?

No tv coverage for this game?
BBC Red Button.
-
Thanks BV.
-
Good side. Few players get their last chance before being sold :)
-
Good strong team. We should advance comfortably if we take our chances early on.
-
Bailey has to score?
And looking to complete it with him, "he has" sometime today!
-
Good luck Morgan, Leon you owe us big time and hopefully Kadan Young gets some game time.
-
Bailey has to score?
Probably why he’s playing! He will get chances he has to put them away. Clever move from Unai. Hopefully Bailey will get a confidence boost. It will be useful for him when he gets sold to some Championship club. He really is not good enough for us. We have to have more ambition than Bailey.

Can't find the match on BBC Red Button.

Thank you mate. They should have said. Really frustrated me going through the iPlayer.
Hope it's on.

Kaden Young on the bench is a mistake. No matter how good he is, we should not be giving first team games & media praise to kids until they have reached the age of 18 & signed a long term pro contract. Have we learned nothing from the Chukwuemeka situation?
-
Heskey to get injured drawing a ball out of the draw

He will drop it onto his triangular rubber shin & it will disappear into another dimension...

-
On a cold & wet Wednesday evening...
-
man chel v ox arse
-
There are some who praise Martinez's squalid antucs of poo housing, and Stevenage has a few who will impose it at times today if we don't see it right. So no complaints!
Yes there have a few players who are a real pain, so let's put them to bed early so we don't have to deal with their antics as well as the treatment Bailey and Coutinho will receive.
Some of their players have no other option because it's a battle for them just to keep up.
Let's hope Luiz and Sanson keep their cool in midfield and let the football speak for itself.
-
some big teams going out if we get through
-
Heskey did pretty well there, a couple of tricky draws for some of the Scab Six.

This is the match thread for crying sake!
Exactly why I post on player specific thread as these are confusing!
Please make a thread if you must
-
Man City or Chelsea vs Arsenal takes care of two of the possible winners. Man U have an easy draw vs Reading. Brighton won’t be easy for Liverpool if they beat Wolves. Away at Stoke if we can win today gives us a decent chance to Rd5

In what specific area do you disagree? Maybe you should create a Kaden Young thread, so not to upset some of the more sensitive posters on this board...

They're playing a back 5 so might have to be patient in this one if we don't get an early goal.
-
Big game for Sanson fans, surely he should be taking this game by the scruff of the neck.

Lovely ball in for Ings from Sanson.

He's on the bench for a 3rd round fa Cup match, along with about 20 other Premier league youngsters this weekend.
Hardly blowing smoke up his arse are we. Such a bizarre narrative you've created

Too much showboating Villa, especially from Couts
-
Free one might be the reason the BBC is not working. :-)

Coutinho with a sighter I hope....
You seem to be about 1 minute ahead of me. Are you at the ground?

Emery fucked off with our wastefulness

-
Bailey should be on the left
Great touch by sanson
-
Coutinho with a sighter I hope....

Watching it on TV instead of a river.
There's always a time delay on streams, think quickest was about 60 seconds but usually more 90 seconds-two minutes.
-
Luiz forces a save
-
Decent strike from Luiz, well held from their keeper.
Augustinsson seems to be constantly aiming for mystery player at backpost with his crosses, getting too much on them.
-
All quite blah and meh so far
-
Stevenage score - offside, VAR check
-
Offside thankfully.
That's a warning.
-
Come on VAR.
-
All quite blah and meh so far
Did you get the iPlayer working or is it 'another form of content delivery?
-
Good fucking Lord. Thank fuck that was offside. Ripped apart
-
That looks very tight....

Goal offside
-
Stevenage dcotec
-
High line v a league 2 team there....
-
WAKE THE FUCK UP VILLA
-
Still VAR
-
There's a warning
-
Maybe we can wake the fuck up now eh lads?
-
terrible defending but we've got away with it. We need to battle a bit more because they're happy to kick us all over the pitch.
-
Pessimism granted, I can see the mighty Stevenage doing us
-
Offside
-
Really struggling against the low block. There isn't much close control and movement going on.
-
Thank fuck for that, sort it out Villa.
-
And our reserve defence are shite
-
Fuck me we look laboured and lacking ideas and movement.
-
I turn it on. They score. I'm turning it back off.
-
Cash needs to sort his final ball out
-
I turn it on. They score. I'm turning it back off.
Turn it back on. They didn’t thankfully
-
Too slow and too static. Ings getting no service at all.
-
I don't think Cash will ever really sort out the final ball with any regularity.
I like him, he's a good lad and offers a fair bit, but the end product is zilch.
-
What the fuck was that Sanson?
-
For all our possession we haven't created anything of note, the odd time they attack they look more of a threat.
-
I only wish we could pass and move the ball like Stevenage
-
All quite blah and meh so far

I think those expecting Coutinho to be a great force under Emery are going to be disappointed.
Lost a yard in acceleration and it dosen't half show.
-
Anyone wondering why Emery wants to improve our full back options, this shambles might give you an idea.
-
I only wish we could pass and move the ball like Stevenage
Their front two need to be respected for sure. Some nice movement and battling for everything.
-
Final ball is has been gash.
-
Cash having a mare. Sanson the only one trying to pick his way through
-
Bailey still in mourning mood, needs to wake up when in possession.
-
"Premier League, yer 'avin' a laff!"
-
All a bit flat so far.
-
This is really very, very poor so far
-
Have to go wide and stretch their defence - we seem to have one plan and that’s to play through them but it’s all too crowded. Playing into their hands at the moment
-
Would the real Aston Villa please report to reception...
-
Sanson dong pretty well so far.
Totally agree re why he wants better full backs, though.
-
This is shite
-
I can see why Emery wants wingers and different full backs
-
Bailey can’t even beat a League 2 defender.
-
Bailey getting mugged off by a League 2 defender boils my piss.
-
Sanson dong pretty well so far.
He love you looooong time!
-
…and again.
-
Ings not making himself available at all
-
Asking Danny Ings to chase long passes is such a useless tactic
-
We lack everything, pace, width, creativity. Hard to break through their brick wall but we have to move the ball quicker.
-
Watching in shitty SD on channel 981
Red button is HD but the delay would mean PWS would call any goals 3 minutes before I saw them otherwise.
-
Looks like a match of Coutinho shooting from silly angles, he should've laid it off to edge of the box then.
-
Bailey just doesn't seem to have the heart for it, definitely up for a physical battle and he looks down on pace too.
-
Coutinho doesn't look very good does he
-
A trip to Stoke for the winners.
I'd be flat if that was the reward.
-
Decent bailey ... Course wants a goal
-
30 minutes gone and we've had one shot on target.
-
Phil not got his shooting boots on.
-
We have no player that in the middle can unlock a League 2 defence. It’s quite embarrassing
-
SCORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRCHIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
Yessss
-
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Morgan
-
Get in, Sanson!!
-
That was actually a nice move for once and cracking finish
-
Get in Sanson! :)
-
What a lovely moment for Morgan after the last two years.
Took it well.
Hopefully we look a bit more convincing for rest of the match.
-
Sanson d'amour!
-
Get in. Build on that
-
Some nice interplay there.
-
Lovely goal.
-
Sansonnnnnnnnnnn
-
Well done Morgan
-
That 1-2 touch passing is what's been missing, slightly higher tempo and their defensive shape fell apart pretty quickly.
-
Stunning goal tbf
-
Well worked goal that, Coutinho had a big hand in that.
-
Lovely little bit of play and a good finish from Sansom. He deserves that after the shitty treatment he's had from Smith and Gerrard over the years.
-
Morgan Sanson rarely plays and when he does rarely badly enough to not be more involved. He seems the type of technical player that should be part of the first team rotation
-
Thank goodness for that.
-
Lovely goal, that.
-
Nice goal, well worked. Moving the ball quicker will rip them apart.
-
Sanson's celebration was interesting: tapping his head and pointing out he has a brain/solid mentality or something.
-
Interesting to see whether Sanson still gets sold... been a tidy performance so far
-
Bailey and his shooting currently.
Dreadful.
-
Fucking hell Leon what was that?
-
I wish Sanson had been treated better. There’s a great player there.
-
Bailey, fucking hell.
-
What's happened to baileys shooting
-
While I hope I’m wrong, I get the impression this is a shop window game for Sanson rather than a way to get back into our first team plans
-
Stevenage defenders all drawn towards the ball marking the "clump" of Villa players leaving space in the box for Sanson.
-
Stevenage go close
-
Nice shot there from Stevenage.
-
I wish Sanson had been treated better. There’s a great player there.
Looks good
-
Fucking hell that was close for them. Clipped the bar
-
What a strike from Norris.
Cash is miles off it, Young would be a good half time sub.
-
Agree with Sanson comments - best player on the pitch so far.
Bailey - needs to be sold, will never be consistently good enough
-
I am beginning to want Bailey to cry more often. Bloody rubbish so far.
-
While I hope I’m wrong, I get the impression this is a shop window game for Sanson rather than a way to get back into our first team plans
He needs a run in the side. Which I don’t think he’ll get. But at least he’s giving it a go today. I like him. Just odd how no manager seems to want to play him, and some have stuck with McGinn after having the worst form of his life.
-
What on earth has been going on behind the scenes for Sanson to have been ignored so often? Maybe he’s not a shoe in for the first team every game, but equally he’s not that bad that he should’ve been left out for so long. It’s just … odd
-
Cash is shit again
-
Great effort
-
I still don’t understand Bailey being on the right. He’s never as effective as on the left. The run and goals vs Everton or Man U for example all down that side
-
Man City reserves smashing Chelsea in the other game.
-
cash seems a bit off the pace
-
While I hope I’m wrong, I get the impression this is a shop window game for Sanson rather than a way to get back into our first team plans
Can we do a twofer, buy a Sanson, get a Bailey for free ?
-
Bailey loses the ball far too often
-
There are a few waddling off for a HT pie already.
-
Bailey trying to cut inside is what causes to lose the ball as often as he does
-
Sanson's celebration was interesting: tapping his head and pointing out he has a brain/solid mentality or something.
Might be an in-joke as some of the subs were smiling and doing it as well after the goal.
-
Bailey loses the ball far too often
His reaction when he loses it is almost always awful too - slouching, negative body language, lopes around unenergetically.
-
There are a few waddling off for a HT pie already.
If they're lucky they'll be served before full time.
-
I’m struggling to see the famous Wmery patterns of play at the moment, they can’t even do the basics right
-
I’m going to give that to Stevenage. I was almost willing that shot to go in - that would have been an amazing goal.
-

... of the Leeds match.
-

Yes, quite.
-
Fucking hell Leon. Just fucking hell
-
Bailey having a mare. Puts his head in his hands, amazingly doesn't cause him to fall over.
-
Bailey has lost it
-
Hook Bailey and put Ollie up on the left; or bring JJ on to run at their defence - expect their concentration and fitness levels to flag 2nd half
-
Ramsey will start v Leeds if he gets 30 minutes looking at what Bailey is producing here.
Very poor.
-
Bailey is fucking shite.
-
Bailey not having a great time is he
-
Bailey's Scream.
-
Emery needs to do some work at half time - it’s all far too slow and goal aside, we are playing into their hands trying to weave through a 5 man defence.
Got to stretch them out and create space down the flanks
-
Poor Leon
-
Bailey has lost it
To be honest , I don't think he ever had it .
-
Bailey having a mare.
-
Half time.
-
Bailey would struggle to get into the Stevenage team. Needs hooking at half time
-
We must have had 65-70% possession and only one shot at goal. Thank goodness that went in. But this has been really poor overall. Lots of passes leading to next to nothing at all. HT 1-0
-
Not a great half really.
Thankfully we're winning but it was a very close call and crowd know it.
-
Cash and Bailey looking like players we need to improve on.
-
We’re so pedestrian.
-
Despite all our possession, Stevenage can probably feel a little hard done by.
-
Bailey is fucking shite.
Quite right Martin! I do appreciate it when a benevolent and measured approach to player appraisal is taken.
-
Pure comedy from Leon there
-
Bailey’s only ever starting from a standing start, never at pace. Even against a lower league defence he hasn’t got enough to worry sky magic from there. That’sa bit depressing really.
-
Cash and Bailey looking like players we need to improve on.
I thought the same. They have found their level wirh Stevenage.
-
Bailey has been poor but seriously would he not be better on the other side
-
Get the feeling that Unai is going to have a much better idea of who needs to be eased out after this match.
-
The woman on commnetary is desperate for them to get something here.
We weren't great but it is hard against what is effectively a back 8 and we're trying to force it a bit too much.
Sanson and Luiz have been our best players by a long way, Bailey has been terrible.
-

-
Cash and Bailey looking like players we need to improve on.
Ramsey will start v Leeds if he gets half an hour tonight.
Dosen't solve everything as if we bring Buendia back it's a bit one paced in final third but Leon isn't exactly doing much to stay in first 11 currently.
We will certainly be signing a final third player this month, let's hope they're proven rather than a project.
-

I wish they would be move it a little quicker - mind you I wish one or two others would give them an option. Think Aug has done well too
-
Bailey's right foot helps him stand up straight, but that's about it.
-
Bailey would struggle to get into the Stevenage team. Needs hooking at half time
Bring on Kadan Young - can't be any worse.

That sums it up for me. Bailey's clearly low on confidence and it showed in that first half.
-
Move Bailey to the left. He’s just not good enough or confident now on the right
-
Thoroughly entertaining she reckons.... nah.
I am not sure what has been worse...our performance or haiving to listen to the nonesense from her and Dion.
-
Oh good - Pat Murphy objectivity on 5live.
-
Bailey's right foot helps him stand up straight, but that's about it.
Though the best thing he's done in the first half is to swing in a very decent first time cross with his right foot, when that was the only option available to him.
-
Not a great half really.
Thankfully we're winning but it was a very close call and crowd know it.
On the other hand, they've probably seen two dozen cup ties over the years where we haven't scored and then go out to a late goal for the lower league side.
So count the blessings really.
-
Without wanting to sound like Flinstone, it seems quiet?

She’s dreadful. She started proceedings with an opening statement of We’re focusing on a giant killing here. “. The only reason bbc covering this game is they smell blood. It’s always the same. Much as I love to see the Villla on tv. I always dread the commentary.

There's a little lad in the Witton upper who hasn't stopped singing in the 1st half. Absolute star

Kaden Young on the bench is a mistake. No matter how good he is, we should not be giving first team games & media praise to kids until they have reached the age of 18 & signed a long term pro contract. Have we learned nothing from the Chukwuemeka situation?
Not this shit again
In what specific area do you disagree? Maybe you should create a Kaden Young thread, so not to upset some of the more sensitive posters on this board...
He's on the bench for a 3rd round fa Cup match, along with about 20 other Premier league youngsters this weekend.
Hardly blowing smoke up his arse are we. Such a bizarre narrative you've created
I don't care about other clubs youngsters & how they are dealt with, unless it involves Villa. The manager has been praising Young in the media this week. Im not saying that we should call him shit & pay him in coal, I am just wary of building up the ego of youngsters with praise & first team opportunities before they have signed a proper long term pro contract on their 18th birthday. Chuckweumeka & his people told us all the right things about that contract, but we fed his ego with comments from the likes of Purslow & gave him more first team opportunities than his play deserved & he left thinking he was the big "I am". I do not want to repeat the same mistakes with any of our other prospects.
-
Glad of the lead; well worked goal. Cb 2 look dodgy for us. Cash has been poor. Only Leander and Sanson look up for it. Bailey is definitely playing on the wrong side (all left footed-no right). They’ve not troubled us and when they have got anywhere near it’s been of our own making. Less of the pedestrian football 2nd half please.
-
Would we play Sanson if we are selling him this month ?
-
Bailey's right foot helps him stand up straight, but that's about it.
Though the best thing he's done in the first half is to swing in a very decent first time cross with his right foot, when that was the only option available to him.
He was involved in the goal
He is better on the left
-
Yes, they are putting 8 or 9 behind the ball, but Christ, when they do attack and have on occasions we have to move the ball quicker when we win it back.
-
God that noise on iPlayer at half time lift Muzak is annoying
-
The woman on commnetary is desperate for them to get something here.
We weren't great but it is hard against what is effectively a back 8 and we're trying to force it a bit too much.
Sanson and Luiz have been our best players by a long way, Bailey has been terrible.
She’s dreadful. She started proceedings with an opening statement of We’re focusing on a giant killing here. “. The only reason bbc covering this game is they smell blood. It’s always the same. Much as I love to see the Villla on tv. I always dread the commentary.
I find Dion hard work to be honest
-
Very very poor. Lots of possession, very little threat. The one time we moved it a little quicker than snails pace & we scored. They on the other hand are taking advantage of the fact that three of that back four have the pace of a tree & are getting in behind on the counter. They have a chance with that play. And if that commentator with Dublin got more excited about Stevenage, she might just have an orgasm on live TV. I get the underdog angle, but Jebus, show a little professionalism.
-
We’re so pedestrian.
Exactly. The only time we demonstrate our superior skill and technique we score. In great Villa tradition we have a team that are scared to run at the opposition, Coutinho seems to slow the game down so he can have a breather, if Buedia had given the ball away like Coutinho you'd have imploded after 25 minutes.
Bailey as others have said is having a 'mare but Cash is hanging back due to them getting lots of fun down our right side. Maybe Sanson could support Bailey more in addition to being the only Villa player that looks like they deserve a game.
-

The goal was all about the movement of Coutinho, Bailey and Sanson, we dragged the defence about and then moved the ball quickly to use the space. I hope we do more of it.
-
Good display of walking football first half.
-
I think she’s pretty good as a commentator.
-

Probably time to think about something else I reckon
-
The only thing that matters is progress to round 4. The rest is flim flam.
-
Should have scored
Luis needs tomshoot instead of the extra ball at times
-
I think she’s pretty good as a commentator.
She sounds butcher than she looks
-
I think she’s pretty good as a commentator.
She started the game talking about a giant killing and has stuck with that all through.
-
Bailey. Banjo. Cows arse.
-
Bailey. Banjo. Cows arse.
To be fair, it seemed to take a deflection
-
Please tell me that’s a corner. Or else Bailey is having beyond a mare.
-
I think she’s pretty good as a commentator.
She started the game talking about a giant killing and has stuck with that all through.
Yeah and as Villa fans we might not like it, but the general audience probably do and to be honest before we scored they looked marginally more incisive. It’s hardly surprising to lead with it.
-
I think she’s pretty good as a commentator.
Leaves Clown Tyldesley in her wake. Jeez he was dreadful on ITV for Cardiff v Leeds
-
Countino should be booked for persistent diving
-

You disagree. Thats fine. I respect that.
-
Bailey was good then
-
I think she’s pretty good as a commentator.
She started the game talking about a giant killing and has stuck with that all through.
Most comms are on "magic of the cup" bingo in this round.
Dion is desperate for us to win about 4-0. Barely cares about what any of the Stevenage lads are up to.
-
Are we working on the basis that if Bailey gets the ball enough times, he'll eventually do something right with the ball?
-
Yes, they are putting 8 or 9 behind the ball, but Christ, when they do attack and have on occasions we have to move the ball quicker when we win it back.
They’re a very organised back 8
We just have to be patient
-
Much better tempo to this second half anyway.
Another goal and this cup tie is done.
-
Bailey was good then
He did.
-
Coutinho shooting is dreadful.

The ‘magic of the FA Cup’ commentary approach. Someone’s dad was once a postman, etc.
-
Come on Phil keep going
-
Decent start to this half
-
I think she’s pretty good as a commentator.
Not in this match she isn't. But I agree, she is better than the likes of Lee Hendrie, Andy Hinchcliffe, Martin Tyler or Emma Hayes, usually.
-
"Coutinho has not quite got his eye in."
D. Dublin.
-
Countino should be booked for persistent diving
He should be booked for his shooting, abysmal!
-
Sharper second half , but the shooting😳
-
That's where Bailey should be shooting.
Instead just passes it to Ings who gets crowded out.
-
"Coutinho has not quite got his eye in."
D. Dublin.
Mad-Eye Moody
-
Bailey was good then
Linking up with Sanson. They need to work together to open up the space.
-
Do you know what, I think Morgan has a touch of the Dennis Mortimer about him
-
Ings you one-footed cockstrangler! >:(
-
Bailey at least always seems to be involved.
Some wingers we've had in the last ten years could go three matches and you'd have barely heard their names mentioned.
-
I think Coutinho's been watching videos of Tonev.
-
Olsen...
-
Olsen’s distribution is below par for a PL level goalkeeper
-
Samson should stay
-
I think Coutinho's been watching videos of Tonev.
He’s got the box set
-
Our own long forgotten Bertrand Traoré would be having it off out there today
-
I think Coutinho's been watching videos of Tonev.
Tonev on a bad day
-
if stevenage score , this commentary team will start having sex
-
Ings doesn't lead the line as well as Ollie.
-
Olsen again
-
Our own long forgotten Bertrand Traoré would be having it off out there today
He's not been forgotten by me, John.
-
I like Dendoncker but that facial hair says 'under no circumstances should you look at my hard drive'.
The only person allowed to have a 'stache on a football pitch is Kevin Richardson.
-
Sanson gone to shit
-
Olsen again
Truly awful passing. The game has evolved so much in terms of keeper control and passing. He’s just very poor anytime the ball is at his feet.
-
Our own long forgotten Bertrand Traoré would be having it off out there today
He's not been forgotten by me, John.
in a good or bad way ?
-
Our own long forgotten Bertrand Traoré would be having it off out there today
He's not been forgotten by me, John.
Nor me. Bring him back!
-
I like Dendoncker but that facial hair says 'under no circumstances should you look at my hard drive'.
The only person allowed to have a 'stache on a football pitch is Kevin Richardson.
Shaun Teale would like a word. Derek Mountfield enters the chat.
-
State of their managers trousers!
-
if stevenage score , this commentary team will start having sex
Nah Dion's better than that.
-
I like Dendoncker but that facial hair says 'under no circumstances should you look at my hard drive'.

Think he's got a side gig as a Freddie Mercury tribute act!

Our own long forgotten Bertrand Traoré would be having it off out there today
He would love it up in the commentary gantry.
-
Our own long forgotten Bertrand Traoré would be having it off out there today
He's not been forgotten by me, John.
in a good or bad way ?
I love the man.
-
Can somebody PLEASE SHOOT
-
all a bit narrow
-
Our own long forgotten Bertrand Traoré would be having it off out there today
He's not been forgotten by me, John.
in a good or bad way ?
I love the man.
Good, I would actually prefer him to Bailey
-
Can somebody PLEASE SHOOT
Probably better had he not in the end.
-
Are our full backs under strict instructions to not make any attempt to get to the goal line and cross the ball ffs?
-
Sort it out Unai!
-
Can somebody PLEASE SHOOT
Probably better had he not in the end.
After a billion passes didn’t even get the shot on target
-
Should have been 2
-
The full backs are a bit 'Championship'. There's loads of possibilities for getting to the byline.
-
Bloody hell Chambers
-
JJ and Emi the Small coming on for Coutinho and Sanson
-
Sanson best player off
-
Beundia and Ramsey coming on. This has to liven us up a bit as both should find space amongst their backline and move them around a bit more.
-
Fuck me that was worse than Bailey miss on Wednesday! :(
-
I'd put Martinez on up front. He might score.
-
Sanson best player off
Could well play a decent part v Leeds based on this show.
We'll see.
-
Cmon lads get a second and finish this fucking thing off.
-
Sanson best player off
hopefully food for thought for the manager
-
We should be out of sight but their goalie hasn't had much to do
-
Sanson best player off
Could well play a decent part v Leeds based on this show.
We'll see.
We won’t see him again until pancake Wednesday
-
Don't get taking Morgan off, hook bailey ffs
-
81% possession bot only 3 shots on target is pretty poor
-
Don't get taking Morgan off, hook bailey ffs
Probably can't play a full 90 after being locked in a cupboard at Bodymoor for a year.
-
One nil and we are only one slip away from disaster.
-
Don't get taking Morgan off, hook bailey ffs
He hasn’t played in 30 years.
-
The shot of Phil on the bench isn't a good look.
-
One nil and we are only one slip away from disaster.
Cue Mings.
-
The shot of Phil on the bench isn't a good look.
Why what was he doing?
-
Old Young on, be nice to have young Young on as well.
-
Can't believe we've mad four subs and Bailey is still actually on the pitch.
-
That's what we miss from.JJ
-
Bailey has simply had a nightmare today
-
As a spectacle, this is not a spectacle.
-
So this is when stevenage go for it.
-
The shot of Phil on the bench isn't a good look.
He can have no complaints, he was poor.
-
Stay standing ffs
-
Fucking hell Bailey, absolutely useless.
-
The shot of Phil on the bench isn't a good look.
Why what was he doing?
He looked like someone pondering where his career or life was going.
-
The shot of Phil on the bench isn't a good look.
He can have no complaints, he was poor.
He was in his pomp 6 or 7 years ago. I think the game has passed him by
-
Old Young on, be nice to have young Young on as well.
Can't believe they haven't brought the 'unknown quantity' on to give it a right go on one of the wings.
-
Bailey has simply had a nightmare today
he makes the wrong decision alot
-
The shot of Phil on the bench isn't a good look.
He can have no complaints, he was poor.
He was in his pomp 6 or 7 years ago. I think the game has passed him by
Agree - it’s all a bit sad really but he offers precious little. Shooting today was amateurish.
-
Jaysus! Is Bailey even related to a footballer!
-
That’s it, Bailey needs to come off NOW
-
Feels like this match has been going on for hours
-
Bailey, off please.
-
Bailey and Augustinsson can piss off.
-
Have we used 5 subs yet. Bailey is embarrassing himself.
-
Talking about corner flags...
It's been a poor game. Can't sugarcoat this one.
-
I've just had a nice onion bhaji.
-
The shot of Phil on the bench isn't a good look.
Why what was he doing?
He looked like someone pondering where his career or life was going.
I'm sure his banking app will cheer him up.
-
This has been very poor.
-
We need 5 or 6 really good players in during the next two windows. A lot of these back ups aren’t remotely close to challenging the first team and a number of the first team aren’t good enough for us to be challenging for Europe.
-
The shot of Phil on the bench isn't a good look.
Why what was he doing?

He had the same facial expression I have when my Mrs is talking to me about how I need to do more around the house.
-
Bailey has simply had a nightmare today
And the previous game
-
I've had more fun reading the gas meter, to be honest.
-
Leon Bailey is abysmal. I've honestly seen players in non-league with better decision making, better ball retention and the ability to shoot and pass. We absolutely had our pants pulled down paying what we did for him.
-
Ouch! Thats Aug's game run :(
-
Talking about corner flags...
It's been a poor game. Can't sugarcoat this one.
I found that quite interesting.
-

With this Augustinsson injury we'll be signing the Betis LB this week so let's hope he's one that can come in and hit the ground running quickly.
-
We had a youth player called Amoo at one point didn’t we? Ryan Amoo maybe?
-
Bailey down the right. Shite.
Watkins down the left. Shite.
-
Why the fuck is Digne not ready!
-
I've just had a nice onion bhaji.
With all the scintillating chat about FA Cup winners' triangles perhaps a samosa would have been more apt.
-
We had a youth player called Amoo at one point didn’t we? Ryan Amoo maybe?
Yup. Famous for spending a year in the tabloids by hanging off the arm of Jade Goody.
-
I've had more fun reading the gas meter, to be honest.
In a world without dogs that would be an OK job.
-
Run, Ollie, run!
-
Talking about corner flags...
It's been a poor game. Can't sugarcoat this one.
I found that quite interesting.

Hit the nail firmly on the head
-
Imagine paying for a ticket to go and watch this game, then driving a long distance, paying to park, failing to get something to eat at half time, spending a shit load of time in traffic trying to get away from the ground, and then having a long drive home at the end of it, only to get home and realise you need to go to bed soon as it's Monday tomorrow and back to work.
-
Thats why Bailey kept trying to pass to Ings
-
Penalty Stevenage
-
Penalty
-
Donk red card
-
Wtf
-
What a fucking disaster. Penalty and red card
-
VAR check
-
FFS...
-
Question is if it's inside or outside the box
-
Jesus fucking wept.
-
TBH we don't really deserve to win this in 90 minutes.
Totally unnecessarily replay though in the circumstances.
-
Bailey is the perfect player for the YouTube generation - you could make a short video where he looks unbelievable
Ah - bloody hell
-
Why do we never get fouls for when our shirted are pulled?
-
Surely it only a red if it isn't a pen nowadays
-
VAR gives a penalty
-
You'd expect an urbane type such as Emery to be wearing a better coat.
Pure Oasis market vibes.
-
No way that’s being overturned
-
all we deserve
-
Stevenage score
-
Absolutely embarrassing
-
My word.
-
And the woman commentator does have that orgasm
-
Full first 11 out for the replay please.
Second home game we've been miles off it.
-
No complaints, we've been wank overall.
-
Pathetic
-
This has been an all round shocking display yet again in this competition
-
Hospital pass from Olsen numpty play by Dendkncker.
-
Surely it only a red if it isn't a pen nowadays
Only if you're making a genuine attempt to win the ball which is quite tricky with a shirt pull
-
Dreadful.
-
Usual FA cup rubbish from us.
-
Full first 11 out for the replay please.
Second home game we've been miles off it.
Let’s get to 1-1 first!
-
Fuck off Emery
-
This won't be our year
-
Fuck off Emery
Behave yourself
-
Villa you are fucking idiots
You can't even control a fucking ball
-
1-2 Stevenage score
-
Ffs
-
I’m really pleased our new manager is such a cup expert. FFS.
-
I turn it on. They score. I'm turning it back off.
Finish tuition job. Turn it back on. Penalty. Red card. Back off again. Sorry.
-
Fucking ada.
-
Surely it only a red if it isn't a pen nowadays
Only if you're making a genuine attempt to win the ball which is quite tricky with a shirt pull
If the ref gives the shirt pull then it's a red and a free kick, if he gives a foul it's a penalty.and yellow.
-
Utter fucking shit, fuck right off, useless ******
-
Oh fuck right off
-
I'll have no complaints if Stevenage put another one past us. Wank!
-
Absolutely fucking typical. We do this EVERY year and haven't been past the third round in six years apparently.
-
I’m fucking blown away. What a calamity
-
Let meltdown commence
-
That was utterly pathetic, nobody marking him and keeper beaten where he shouldn't be beaten.
-
That's the Emery honeymoon over with then.
-
Christ
-
Fuck off Emery. Fucking hell. Fucking hell.
-
When will someone tell our more donkey-ish players that they should stop FUCKING about at the back?
-
That’s that then
-
FFS
-
And the woman commentator does have that orgasm
She's gone into orbit
-
Fucks sake Villa.
-
Olsen beaten at near post. Wanker.
-
Beaten at your near post you useless ******!
-
Fucking idiots.
-
Robin Olsen you useless prick. Beaten at the near post. Fucking hell
-
At least they waited until Sunday afternoon to ruin everyone’s weekend the ******.
-
My God how embarrassing was that!
-
You’ve got to laugh. Idiots.
-
Must be one of the worst defeats in our history.
-
This is fucking humiliating.
-
Deserved. What a bunch of ******.
-
Stevenage, fucking behave!
-
Unreal. Useless bunch of seanuts.
-
Fuck off Bailey, you absolute fucking chancer.
-
Bailey you twat
-
I defended Bailey the other night. He’s had a game that should mean he cannot start again for a long time. What a fucking disaster this is.
-
Absolute trash.
-
Why bother.
-
Stop giving the ball to fucking Bailey
-
Shit keeper, shit performance from nearly every player = another fucking FA Cup defeat. Twats.
-
FFS I've been giving Naarwich fans pelters since they got rid of Deano. Now I'm going to have to eat shitty turnips.
-
Poor decision-making by Emery with the substitutions.
-
Thought we were on the verge of something promising. All optimism gone now.
-
Talking about corner flags...
It's been a poor game. Can't sugarcoat this one.
I found that quite interesting.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triangular_corner_flags_in_English_football
Did you know......Blackburn Rovers are the only team in English football allowed to have their crest displaying on all four corner flags. This is because they are the only club in existence to have won the FA Cup three years in a row
-
It all very well doing it at a Premier League ground on a Sunday, but can Stevenage do it on a rainy cold day in the Potteries?
-
Utter wank. Classic Villa collapse.
-
We deserve this. This was an absolute disaster. We must be the only team that can appoint a cup expert as manager only to fall out of both cups early. You can’t make it up.
-
Shit keeper, shit performance from nearly every player = another fucking FA Cup defeat. Twats.
Wankers, every single one of them.
-
Full time
-
One win in the FA cup since we were shafted against Arsenal in 2014. Wankers.
-
FUCK OFF VILLA. JUST FUCK OFF
-
You bunch of tossers
-
Fuck off Emery, useless ******.
-
Bunch of cunts! >:(
-
Got what we deserved.
Even by our standards that was impressive.
-
Well that’s just fucking shite.
-
I called it earlier. I’m pretty much done with villa. Sack the fucking lot of them. Bunch of ******’s the lot of them
-
Well done Stevenage you deserve it…..Villa you didn’t
-
that's a total lack of winning mentality. Switching off, twice, at the end is unforgiveable.
What a sack of shite some of these players are. Fair play Stevenage.
-
Well done Stevenage you deserve it…..Villa you didn’t
But that's the problem isn't it. They didn't play particularly well. We handed it to them on a plate as we always do against lower league opponents each and every year. The manager, like so many premier league managers, talks about desperately trying to win this competition then fields a reserve team against opponents who are always going to be up for it.
-
Congratulations Stevenage, good luck next round.
Unai- now you know who to sell.
What a load of freeloading nonsense to turn out for The Villa. Playing at walking pace, happy with 1-0 and then to switch off completely within 5 minutes of winning.
-
Dog dirt. We will need to concentrate on staying up now. That will have rattled psyche of this already very brittle team. Big performance needed against Leeds.....
