...delete a post that I have accidentally duplicated?
-
You can't, annoyingly. Just edit it and write "double post", that's what I usually do.
-
You can in the main discussion site, just click "remove". You can't in Off Topic though.
-
Oh I didn't know that, thanks.
-
Ironically, the remove option is available for this post...
-
Oh I didn't know that, thanks.
I'd encourage you to use the facility more often. :)
-
It's a shame you can't delete other posters' messages...
I can...
-
Uh oh...

Apologies for putting this in here but I didn't want to start a new thread. Mods please advise if I should. The problem I am experiencing is as follows: I am trying to send a couple of PM's but every time I hit on the 'send to' field it takes me straight to the 'read my messages' field. I would appreciate any advice or assistance. Thanks in advance.

I believe that's usually where it takes you after you send a message. Your issue might be that you can't see the messages you've sent because you haven't clicked to 'Save a copy in my outbox' under the message text. Consequently, you've no record of the outgoing message.

I'm not sure that this is the right place but I am lost on this. The site is working ok on my laptop but on my Samsung phone i am getting 'bad request' when I try to open a topic. I deleted the site but can't now get it back. Not helped by getting DC heroes and villains when I search! Other sites on my phone are OK.
Update - I have it back on my phone but still getting 'bad request'
-
I have just tried Samsung J6, A23 and Tablet, but l don't get that error.
Have you tried https://heroesandvillains.info/forumv3 in address bar, or heroesandvillains via Google.
-
Thank you Martin. I had tried Google but I kept getting an online game! I realised that it must be my phone as the laptop was fine. I think I have found the answer by deleting my browser history. Fingers crossed. This is a big learning curve.

Can I have another 'how do I?' please? How do I create a blue hyperlink through my own text on this site? Is it the same way as one creates a link to another page on Wikipedia, ie with the pipe and brackets?
-
[ur l] [/ur l] tags

Like this:
H&V [ur l=http://facebook.com/handv]Facebook Page[/url]
without the space gives
H&V Facebook Page (http://facebook.com/handv)

What I normally do is highlight the text I want to use as the link. Then hit the "insert hyperlink" button to put the url links either side of it, then within the first [ url] box, I add the = symbol and paste the website link. Minimal typing then (only the = button).

How can I find out why I can't send or reply to PM's to or from other members?
All was fine until I exchanged a couple of (very cordial) messages with someone 2 weeks ago.
Now the system won't allow me to send to their name and just about everybody else's!
(I have tried asking this question via the 'Contact' heading but no response.)
Thanks,
Tim

Not sure how many PM's you have but there is a limit to the amount I believe. I know it can stop you receiving any, not sure about sending though. If you have a fair few in your inbox, delete a batch and see.

Hi Moderators,
Hope this is the right place to ask. Lurked around on H&V for many years, ‘long time listener, first time caller.’
I’m a writer/director crowdfunding for a dark comedy short film called Deadheading and wondered, as there is a huge villa connection by way of Dennis Mortimer, whether it would be okay to post about it on here?
Synopsis: An elderly woman will stop at nothing to fulfil her dying husband’s lifelong dream of an allotment garden, even if it means murder.
One of the people getting bunked off by the elderly woman is none other than our captain of 82’, who has agreed to appear as a cameo as part of a list of local legends, in exchange for a donation to Cancer Research.
Here is the link, should you wish to vet before deciding: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/deadheading/deadheading-a-dark-comedy-short-film
Many thanks!

Is it possible to block threads so you just don't see them?
