Title: CAZOO - off the road?
Post by: SaddVillan on September 08, 2022, 06:11:02 PM
Cazoo is quitting Europe.

Still committed to the UK market, but if they decide to throw the towel in here too I guess we'll be looking for a new shirt sponsor.

I hope not, as sponsors logos go, it's pretty unobtrusive and looks okay on the shirt.

The company has been expanding rapidly, with revenues more than doubling year-on-year to £333m in the second quarter of 2022. However, losses for the same period came in at £243m – a cash burn that many analysts and rivals have long believed to be unsustainable.

Didn't like that at all when the shirt was unveiled but don't really notice it on the players. Still way better than some gambling company's logo in Chinese though.

That is horrendous. Won't be long before their UK operations are belly up.

We should help the local community and let Small Heath sponsor us.

*Midweek Pub Quiz in some dimly lit tavern on the outskirts of Birmingham*

Quizmaster: "When was the last time a Villa sponsor or manager went on to better things?"

*Blank faces look-up at him from their tables*

Quizmaster: "I will take one of either..."

This is because being the manager of AVFC or even a sponsor is the pinnacle after which everything else is downhill.

Acorns - are they still going?

Were Muller yogurts the same Muller company who have big premises on the side of the M5 between Bristol and Exeter?

AST computers,Rover, LDV Vans, NTL……

Last manger who went on to bigger things? Sir Graham, and that ended in disaster.

Muller and SGT are probably the answers.

A lot were bought out by bigger companies, eg Mita and AST Computers. I'd guess most of the online gaming firms are still going strong.

Cadbury to Villa should be what Walkers was to Leicester, Colman's to Norwich and Newcastle Brown Ale to the horse punchers.

Just think of all the Bournville / Born Villa marketing opportunities it would afford.

Cadbury sponsor the Aussie rugger-bugger team I think, along with Land Rover. Weird having 2 Brum originated firms sponsoring teams on the other side of the world.

I think that there’s a couple of Cadburys factories in Oz.

In the summer, a cadbury's ad with the badges of the scab 6 appeared in a youtube video i was watching. It really annoyed me

We can console ourselves with the thought that Cadbury dunt taste the same since the Americans took it over.
