Yeah one of our Rotterdam heroes turns 70 today. Can't think of anybody who has given more for us in a Villa shirt, Sir Ron said he was the most underrated footballer he ever purchased. Happy birthday Des.

Happy Birthday Des, he was a total gent when I met him briefly in 2012..

Many happy returns Des! A great player who dominated that right hand side and knew how to fill in for Kenny Swain, when he went forward. UTV!

Happy birthday Des, one of my all time favourite Villa players.

Happy birthday to a Great Player.

Happy birthday hero.

Bremner was pivotal for us, not just in those two seasons that we won the league and European Cup, but in hitting the ground running immediately he was signed, and helping the team gel during that season of transition in 79-80.

Still running non-stop?
Truly underapprecistrd by the pundits, but not by those who saw him in claret and blue week in week out.

Fantastic player for us. Bombed out too early and spent a good few years over at the dark side.

Happy birthday Des!

Happy Birthday Des!
A real hero.
Talented, tireless, effective, modest.
Many, many happy returns!

Happy birthday, Des.
Hope you've got your feet up -you did enough running for us to last a couple of lifetimes.

I have a guilty secret to confess. When I was younger and watching Villa in the early 80s I never fully appreciated what Des Bremner brought to that fabulous team. The headline players were usually Shaw and Withe for their match winning goals, or Morley or Cowans for their sublime skills. Yes, I could see Des ran for fun and could always be relied upon to put in a shift but it was only years later when watching DVDs of the glory days that I saw clearly the huge contribution he made to that team's functionality. It wasn't just me who was blind either - he never started a full international for Scotland, certainly not while he played for Villa. Unappreciated like his club captain, Sir Dennis who never even got as much as a substitute appearance for England.
Belatedly, happy birthday and thank you Des, and may you remain in good health for many years to come.

These days it takes a year to get up to speed, well that's what they have you believing

I remember it well Eamonn. He insisted I got all the photos of the Legends that I wanted. A true gentleman, nothing was too much trouble for him. Happy birthday Des.
