Chance to do some more midtable things and decide to win a game again after a poor run
Marv back for us, Ndidi, Vardy and Bertrand out for them.
Leicester are another in a long line of Villa hating odd balls, although they've at least done something in the past years other than finish above us, which is usually the only requirement in the Midlands to be delighted with your club.

Expect Digne is out, which is a shame. Konsa was beyond poor against Spurs and I think the presence of Nkamba will help McGinn more than Luiz, so he misses out.
Let's just win.

What BE said.

PMT? Post Match thread? How did we do or should I even ask?
Routine win
-
PMT? Post Match thread?
Predictable Match Turdsandwich.
-
3 or 4 nil to them, unfortunately.
Every goal scored by someone with an irritating face, celebrated one armed salute style, by a manager with an irritating face and character.
I hate Leicester.
-
Think we'll draw but that would be a decent result to stop the rot.
1-1.
-
We are going to win. I don't know why, we just are.
-
Lose this and we face the manager we sacked for losing five in a row having lost five in a row.
Draw.
-
Draw for me as 2-2 (Chris Nicholl to score all 4 goals)
-
Another loss. We are beyond terrible. Leicester are pound for pound far superior right now, sadly
-

PMT? We’ll win this game. Period.
-
It's 11 v 11 so there's always a chance.
But then the match starts and it's a routine win for Leicester.
-
PMT? Puny Match Tactics?
Another loss sadly.
-
2-1
Just scoring a goal would be something at this point.
-
Think we’ll win this - dial seems to have been turned up since last match in terms of negativity and think that we’ll see a response.
Would love us to get another 3 or 4 wins this season and finish strongly to shut up moaning gits like me.
-

They're not in exactly brilliant form themselves this season, and we comfortably beat them at Villa Park. We can and hopefully will win this. We need to.
-
I'm going to this so I reckon a 1-1 draw.
-
I'd like to see this. Don't suppose we will though.
Martinez

1-1 (Coutinhio). Hopefully a win.
-
Their home form is decent so I’m hoping they’ll rest a few with the Europa Semi on the following Thursday. Otherwise I think we’ll struggle again.
-
They will have played two league games in the time since we last played but i bet we look the
more knackered earlier. Chambers needs to start over Konsa and maybe
Nakamba will get a game. We need to be in it in midfield because Maddison and Barnes are very good players. 2-1 them.
-

Prime Minister's Transgression, we'll be in party mood when we win.

Penultimate Moan before Thrashing.

I'm going to this so I reckon a 1-1 draw.
I'm in with my mate in the home stand so we're bound to win 4-0 and I won't be able to celebrate a second of it. Last time I was in the home end for an away game was Man U.
-
Optimistically going for a draw with this one. 1-1.

Yeah I’d go with that team too assuming Digne is out.

3.1 Leicester
-
Bit of an oddity but I'll go for a 1-1 draw. Just want to see a decent performance which has been missing since Leeds.
-
Two things to consider here. Firstly, we have had almost a 2 week break which, for any other team seems to be a bonus but, we always look knackered by half time. The other thing is that they’ve got 2 or 3 players out. For us, in the last few games, the other teams have had important players out but, we never seem to take advantage. I see also that we are slight favourites to win with the bookies. All those things combined, we know what the outcome is likely to be as only Aston Villa can.
-
3.1 to them
Gerard to look thoughtfully moody much of the game
-
2-0.
-
Set pieces are key against these. They cannot defend corners to save their lives.
-

….and we can’t take a decent one to save ours.
Oh for the days of a Steve Staunton ‘whipped in’ corner…..drool.
-
Coutinho can.
-
Coutinho can.
Joking aside when did he last deliver several of requisite quality
-
He would be a better option than Doug who takes most of them.
-
We will win.
Pattern recognition software developed by BarmyKuntzOnAcid(BKOA) have predicted thusly.

I'd like to see this. Don't suppose we will though.
Martinez
Cash Chambers Mings Digne (if fit)
Luiz Marv

I like this team and I think we’ll get a 2-0 win
-
This will be the start of a very good and much needed run.
-
We need to stop the rot.
-
Vardy back for them, nailed on a brace for rat face.
-
Vardy back for them, nailed on a brace for rat face.
Not according to the local rag round here he isn't. Back in training but not fit enough for Saturday.
-
I watched a bit of their game last night and what struck me is how they over pass when in decent positions resulting in very few real chances. They were better than Everton but then most are these days. If we go there to win we will if we go about our business correctly.
-

Preece seemed to think he was in contention for Saturday, hopefully not as you say.
-
I've gone for the draw. Keith Weller (in his tights) for them, Keith Leonard for us.
-
We’re going to win this one.

Stevie doesn’t do draws so it’s a Leicester win I’m afraid. 3-0.

His predecessor didn't do them either.

A most predictable prediction.
-
They're very much like us - on their day they're a decent side, have an off day and they're garbage.
God knows......
-
we're going to twat them.

We won at home by a single goal, scored by a man who appears to have forgotten how to play football. I’m not sure that is evidence in support of “twatting” them at their own ground.
-
I'm going to this. Since we got promoted I've been to six away games and we've lost all of them.

Me too, and my only other away game this season was Old Trafford, so I think I should go instead

Last game there, we won 0-1. Game before, lost 4-0. Over the last 5 the record is W1 D1 L3.
Anything could happen.

Saying we beat them pretty comfortably would have been easier and more accurate.

I defer to your 100% record having also been at Anfield
-
I wonder if this is the deepest into a season we've gone without drawing an away game?
-
So Traore is out with a groin complaint tomorrow. Pathetic! Also, Kortney Hause still out and Morgan Sanson is not available. Some of these players are made of glass!
-
Gone for a battling 2-2 to stop the rot. 2-0 Villa just after half time, then they get into it second half and we’re under the cost, but hold on for a point.

We weren't exactly hanging-on but they had the better chances after we took the lead. I remember a worldie save from Martínez, tipped over the bar. It was a hard-fought win. No twatting involved (except Kasper Schmeichael and his fine acting to deny JJ his maiden VP goal).

Traore and Sanson not available AGAIN - what a surprise!!
Since we signed them they've been injured more than they've been fit - either they've got inherent underlying physical problems, or there's something wrong with our medical set up. I wonder what the ratio is of games that we've played vs games that they've played/been on the bench since they both signed - less than 50% I'd wager.
Anyway, looking at things in the cold light of day; it can't help Gerrard if they're part of the set up from Monday-Thursday only for them to succumb to injures late in the week - makes things difficult if he setsc the team up in training with them only orr them to drop out.
Once or twice might be acceptable, but it's every other game.
Think it's time to move them both out - they've been a waste of money since we signed them, and use the dosh to get someone in who can do a job for us and has a better fitness record.

And don't buy any players from France. There's nothing inherently wrong with players in France, but it just doesn't fucking work for us.
-
Traore and Sanson: at least £30m down the drain. They've both had two weeks off and comeback injured!
-
I've given up trying to predict the score as it has become impossible to know which Villa are going to show up.
-
I think we'd get close to what we paid for Traore and Sanson, neither were over-priced and they're still at good ages.
I'd rather they were given a proper run-out of games between now and May. That looks more unlikely if they're out of favour/made of glass.
-
just win please Villa as the wife's family are from Leicester :(

Martinez
Cash Konsa Mings Young
Nakamba
McGinn Ramsey
Coutinho
Watkins Ings
Is my guess. Luiz on after 60 minutes for a tiring Nakamba. Buendia on for a tiring Coutinho and Bailey on for Ings.
Then a defender will get injured. Young will fuck up a pass, Mings will be left a bit short but take out ASM and the resultant free-kick will rebound off Cash, Konsa will slip over trying to get the rebound and someone in a stripey shirt will stick it in the roof of the net.

Pssst mate, we're playing Leicester, not Newcastle! :)
-
Hmmm, I wonder why I did that. Dickhead (me).
for ASM read Barnes. For stripey read blue.
-
Plastic Bertrand, Samson with short hair, and a Hause with dodgy foundations, when we haven’t played a game for 2 weeks!
-
By the way I’m assuming Digne is out despite Gerrard not naming him as a problem?
-
Just put myself through the Spudz highlights again and I’m fully expecting Ezri to be dropped for Chambers for this. His positional play was all over the place
-
I can never be comfortable with a game against Leicester after the 4-4 all those years ago with Sir Brian in charge.
It was one of the only times I was sat in the Trinity, (Holte before it was all seater, North mostly thereafter), and when they scored their first I remarked to all within earshot "This is going to end up a draw isn't it".
-
Bet Traore wouldn’t be injured very much if he was on an only get paid when you play basis. Sanson I can understand a little bit as, even when he’s fit, it’s rare he gets picked.
I see the bookies have us down as slight favourites v Leicester and, the Liverpudlian know all on the BBC website also has us down to win so, win for Leicester is almost certainly on the cards, particularly as we should be fresh after our lay off but, will probably be knackered after 45 minutes. I doubt we would be relegated, even with the 36 points we have but, would be nice to get another 3 or 4 points just to make sure.
-
Vardy is fit for them albeit probably on the bench.

Hope goes missing tomorrow - like the mobile phone and passwords in the Wagatha Christie court pantomime.

-
Opta stats...
Leicester lost this exact fixture 1-0 last season, with Ross Barkley netting the winner in the 90th minute. They've not lost consecutive home league games to Aston Villa since April 1981.
Aston Villa are looking to complete the league double over Leicester for the first time since 2003-04, following their 2-1 win at Villa Park in the reverse fixture.
Of all teams Leicester have faced at least 20 times in the Premier League, only against Leeds (45%) do they have a higher win rate than they do against Aston Villa (40% - 10 wins from 25 games).
Aston Villa have played more Premier League games on St George's Day without ever winning than any other side in the competition (4 - D2 L2).
Aston Villa have lost their last four Premier League matches, last losing five in a row in October and November under Dean Smith. If they lose this match, it would be the second time this season a side has lost five in a row under two different managers, along with Norwich (Dean Smith and Daniel Farke).
-
Thank you Goldenballs. That's really cheered me up.
-
Plastic Bertrand, Samson with short hair, and a Hause with dodgy foundations, when we haven’t played a game for 2 weeks!
Unbelievable isn’t it?
Not really. It's predictable Villa stuff.
What's unbelievable is Bailey didn't injure himself climbing the stairs of his private jet over Easter. Ain't nothing worse than a instagram stunting footballer who's absolutely fucking garbage on the pitch.
Another waste of space who will be sold for a loss.
-
Plastic Bertrand, Samson with short hair, and a Hause with dodgy foundations, when we haven’t played a game for 2 weeks!
probably been told they're being sold this summer and are now in a bomb squad
-
Our players don’t seem to take conditioning seriously. Work properly on conditioning and you don’t pick up such regular niggles. It’s not just one player it’s quite a few of them.
-
We’re going to win this - we will have gone back to basics a bit and marv will help with that. That combined with the league position and the break will have refocused everyone’s minds.
Ramsey and Watkins for us
So can I be the first and say - I never doubted SG for second
-
Play like we did against Spuds in the first half (putting our chances away this time) and we should be fine. Hopefully.
-
2-2. Entertaining draw between two mid table teams, one of which has an eye on an upcoming European game, the other hopefully well rested.
-
Setting off in a minute to get the train to Leicester. Enjoy the lovely city centre anybody else making the trip, it's the Paris* of the East Midlands.
*Or Beirut possibly.

The city centre itself is pretty nice. It's the crud around the inner ring road which makes you want to pull your own teeth out...

There are one or two slightly nicer areas, or to be more precise less horrible, but on the whole the city centre is a shithole.

There's some decent pubs if you know where to look. I managed to bag a ticket so I'm in the marquis Wellington not far from the station.

And you can pop in and say hi to Richard lll
