Surely if it was Coronavirus we'd have known in advance and would have brought an extra sub? I'm assuming we can't recall Davis or Archer if it turns out to be something serious?

I like it. That midfield needed some change and I'm looking forward to seeing Bailey. Clearly his "chat" with William while in Jamaica has had the desired affect.

Apart from Bailey? I don’t get it.

There's an odd narrative forming that Bailey is actually the new Kieran Richardson, rather than an excellent winger who has barely had the chance to play yet.

I don't get it either .

Saw this on the BBC live text:

"I've not met a Wolves fan so far who thinks they'll win this one. Olly and Mike outside the Doug Ellis Stand couldn't see them scoring with no Raul Jimenez or Ruben Neves. They can't see a win, but added that Villa can be a bit hit and miss."

Haha, I never knew Molineux had its own Doug Ellis stand.

McGinn with the weak pass in midfield, gives them possession which leads to the goal - again. He’s been one of my favourite players in recent years but he’s looking increasingly frail and replaceable. As is mings.

Sounded like we booed off?

Really bad half - seen so many performances like this from both managers this season

Clearly something wrong with the mix of players we have - though fucked if I know what.  Certainly less then the sum of its parts, and alot of the players have been significantly worse.

I would think only Ramsey and Cash you can say have had a good season.

Oh to have a manager and a squad as balanced as wolves

Def at the moment were talking the talking, but a long long way from walking the walk

This. We look so inept at times. Some very poor performances even early on in the half.

Why these players need a kick up the arse at half time is beyond me. Sort yourselves out and play with a bit of desire you overpaid, useless ******.

It's not being able to do the simple things that I have no patience for. Countless times over the course of this season, I've just turned the game off like a spoilt child. There is not a chance in hell that we'll get anything from this game. Not with the usual shit suspects playing like farts week in week out.

Disgraceful unprepared performance. over hit passes, constant slips, no movement, no width, 2nd to every loose ball. We are easy as fuck to play against because we move the ball so slowly, it ends up back at Mings every time who launches it forward to an isolated Watkins.

Gerrard is showing very little to suggest he will be a top flight manager, in fact he is showing fuck all to suggest he will be. Another Lampard.

This will end up 4 or 5-0.

Yes it's terrible. You'd have thought they'd have sorted that out. It cost us the first goal, but we've been terrible.

Even the foul-mouthed nutter behind me had quietened down a bit after abusing every single player (theirs and ours), but now has time to shout abuse at the Wolves kids doing a lap of honour at half time. Where do we get f'ans' like these from?

I know it's unfair to judge Gerrard now and he needs to build his own squad and get at least a full season behind him, but there is something monumentally depressing about having been spoon-fed warm dog sick for almost every one of the last 25 seasons.

Not much less depressing is the inevitability of having written most of those seasons off when a little over 2/3s of the way through.

It's miserable.

We've had 1 shot on target which was from about 30 yards.

When Gerrard came in he wanted to play with both fullbacks really high because that worked in the farmers league, we constantly got exposed at the back on the break with just Konsa and Mings trying to defend against 4, so we had to bin that off.

Not really sure what we're trying to do today.

Just feels a bit pointless to me, constantly spending 100m + every year just to produce same mediocre results when it comes to the crunch.

We just need better coaching. Wolves have played the same system for five years now and it shows when they can lose a couple of key players and yet squad players come in and know the formation.

People take the mick out of waiting for Mendes to find them players but they're not a club who spends as much as we do.

2-0 down and Wolves making the first tactical sub. Need to try something here Gerrard, as this 11 is clearly not working.

McGinn has been terrible, Coutinho non-existent, Watkins wasteful. I'd get Chuk and Traore on for McGinn and Coutinho - Probably won't change the result, but their performances deserve the hook.

First team signings are shit.  I dont get all this data, all this skills etc and Lange and his team have got pretty much every signing wrong.

Only ones that seem to have worked are those that have the whoever the Manager is name all over them.

We're a mid-table team with mid-table players other than Coutinho and Martinez. We'll need to do some serious upgrading to get where we want to be. We can afford two or three mid-table players to be starting for us next season, but not nine. We need at least three quality new signings.

Still willing to give Gerrard some time and a proper preseason, but at the moment, it feels very much like we have replaced the previous manager with a scouse clone.

Stubborn, constantly picks underperforming favourites and no Plan B. Work to your strengths - Square pegs in round holes won't work in this league.

Most worrying thing for me is we already look like we've reached a plateau under this manager against every top 8 team we face.

Our record so far is very poor and we'll be playing a few more of them before the season is out.

Wolves are missing two of their best players aswell ffs.

I see a squad overhaul in the summer with a load of experienced players brought it and a 14th place finish next season.

Just feels a bit pointless to me, constantly spending 100m + every year just to produce same mediocre results when it comes to the crunch.

We just need better coaching. Wolves have played the same system for five years now and it shows when they can lose a couple of key players and yet squad players come in and know the formation.

People take the mick out of waiting for Mendes to find them players but they're not a club who spends as much as we do.
that’s the key. They’ve had the same system and one manager in that 5 years. We’ve had 3 managers and a total overhaul at the top. That leaves a mish mash of players that 3 managers have bought. Gerrard must be given time to assemble his own squad or we’ll have more of the same
