Too many bellends I went to school with that 'supported' Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, but then remembered theres a football club in Wolverhampton when Uncle Jorge got involved. I've lived here for 30 odd years and I genuinly only know 1 decent one. The rest have got a massive chip on their shoulder and some of the shittest banter you'll ever come across. The sooner they go back to there natural level the better.

I only know one Wolves fan. He grew up in Manchester with a slight preference towards the blue half when they were still rubbish but his Dad was from Wolverhampton so he supports Wolves. Can't really argue with that tbf.

I have 3 members of my family who work for Wolves (1 of them has a really interesting job at the club, and travels with the 1st team to home and away games)

They are very confident they will beat us

My score prediction is 1- 1

It'd be great to beat them. Go for them from the off.

It hurt their fans so much that we finished above them last year, when they had dreams of Champions League qualification at the start of last season.

They're unnaturally obsessed with us.

No idea which version of AVFC will show up for this one which makes it impossible to call. Us at our best wipe these off the park. Unfortunately our ability to shit the bed against teams above us in the league, and potentially some scars from the VP horror show in October, make me rather negative going into this.

Another difficult game that I think we'll come up short on tactically.

We are too inconsistent to be able to predict this with any confidence but generally when we play teams above us in the table we lose.

I know quite a few, coming from over that way. The ones that grate with me are the ones that have come out of the woodwork and it's also my kids mates at school that probably wouldn't have been remotely interested in them had it been 5 or so years ago and that don't know anything other than Wolves being fairly good and generally a bit better than the Villa (completely oblivious to the previous 40 years or so). The ones i've known for a long time as always being Wolves fans are pretty much ok.
Anyway, we'd do well to scrape a point here i think.

I'm not confident about this one, but it would give the team a real boost to beat someone above us. They always seem to turn it on against us, apart from that great win under Bruce when our coaching staff took the piss.

Neto, Neves, Podence, Moutinho.

Moutinho is a funny one, years ago I saw him break into the Sporting side and although technically gifted, he just looked too small to fulfill his obvious talent. And by small I'm talking Barry Bannan small. According to Wiki there's a 1cm difference between the two (1.70 & 1.69). Both have gone on to have more than decent careers but now every time I see Moutinho on TV he looks way taller than his Sporting days. I think he was 24 when he left Sporting and it's impossible for men to grow taller after the age of 20, so what the hell happened?

He's a cracking little player* who looks after himself as his record shows; over 800 pro-club games and 143 caps for Portugal, 36 in September and still going strong. Not a bad investment by the Dingles, £5m for a player that's averaged over 40 games a season over 4 years there.

*No offence intended, Mazrim.

In fairness we did get our own scarcely-deserved late winner against them at an empty Molineux last season. The El Goalzi penalty piledriver. Followed by Grealish beckoning all the team into a celebratory huddle, kind of a Goonies "Down here, it's our time!" moment. Fat lot it meant, ultimately...

I was in the home end for the 2-3 win when Robbie Keane scored those 2 stunners. Fucking brilliant and hilarious as well. I managed to not get detected but a Villa fan a couple of rows back got chucked out, not that he was doing anything really. I sat on my hands for the most part.

I was at that game. Gary Gardner made one of his first starts from memory. The one that sticks in my head though is the 4-0 win when Angel got a couple.

That Wolves team was one of the worst teams I've ever seen in the Premier League. Our 3rd goal in particularly was a thing of utter defensive turd.

Of our recent victories against them the 4-1 shafting we gave them in the Championship was the sweetest for me. They were at the top of the league and world domination was to be a formality for the new "Real Madrid" of the black country. "Mind the gap Villa" was their nauseating catchphrase. When Bjarneson toe poked our 4th from the edge of the box I'm sure I could hear their ego's deflating from the Trinity. More of the same would be great please lads.

I was also in the home end for that one (not the fan who got chucked out). Only time I've ever sat in the wrong end. Not celebrating the goals wasn't a problem because I was delighted even if I wasn't cheering. I found hiding my exasperation at missed chances more difficult.

Aside from the Keane crackers, the highlight was that carthorse Henry getting sent off "he ay that stupid" some bloke near me said. Think again.

Yes, only time i've done it too. I was grinning like a cheshire cat as Keane smashed those goals in and for some time after. It was the fact that it was their former hero that added to the enjoyment. No one turned around and saw me though thankfully.

If you're getting off at Junction 10 I'd suggest Cornhill Street Car Park (WV1 3EB). Get off at J10 and follow the A454 all the way to Wolverhampton and its just before you hit the big roundabout for the city centre. 5 minute walk to the ground and you're ideally situated to get out of Wolverhampton and back to the motorway quickly.

Yeah, he and Buendia were suspended for playing in the abandoned Brazil game when local Covid laws said they shouldn't have. They travelled in the hope that suspension would be overturned, but it wasn't.

I know few older head wolves fans in their early 50s, all sound.
This feels like the type of nearly end of the season nothing really to play for game that Villa being Villa roll over to a depressingly predictable  0-2 loss.

But I’m contrary, 3-1 Villa (Ings, Watkins, Ramsey) and the team Ads said.

Martinez didn't play because he was suspended. He did fly 14k miles+ though and his reactions are slower each match back after jet lag.

Yeah, he and Buendia were suspended for playing in the abandoned Brazil game when local Covid laws said they shouldn't have. They travelled in the hope that suspension would be overturned, but it wasn't.

Ah right, did we get them back early then or did they arrive on Wednesday afternoon?

Wolves had plenty of players away aswell, Saiss with Morocco, Moutinho and think Hwang was playing for South Korea so I imagine it will be a very flat opening 20 odd minutes today from both teams until something happens.

The only bits of my extended family who have any interest in football support this lot. It’s always so tiresome when they meme-bomb me when they win and are silent when they don’t. Mind the gap my arse.
