Saturday 19th March, 12:30 UK time.
Will we silence the Tarquins? FTF!
3-1 to the mighty Villa.
-
Obviously want the Villa to win. 3 successive victories against these in recent times was brilliant. Can't see it happening Saturday. Our manager's record against top 8 sides doesn't fill me with confidence. Neither does Young at lb. Mings will be back to doing 2 jobs again. Surprise me Villa!

What BE said.

They were very good in the first half against Liverpool last night but once they conceded they went pretty flat.
Hopefully the game took some energy from them. Cash v Martinelli will be a good contest.
-
I hadn't actually realised that Arsenal has elevated themselves from the laughing stock they've been in recent years and are actually looking a good bet to finish in the top 4. Liverpool did well to keep them at arms length in the first half last night.
I'd take a draw here.
-
We need an ability to grind out some more draws rather than alternating (generally) between wins and defeats. This is a game where I'd hope we can utilise the spells we might dominate and score a goal or two. The worry is that Arsenal counter very well, so we've got to be less sloppy in the middle of the park that we have been. Potentially this might be a game to consider the 4-3-2-1, rather than the 1-2 up top. Although Bailey was guilty of giving the ball away, he may suit a game like this. If not, Beundia and Coutinho behind Ollie who tends to do well against the Goons.
They're a very different prospect to the side we played last season that's for sure.
-
Unfortunately they look very good at the moment. If we get anything form this it will be a good result. But I fear a bit of a drubbing, particulalrly with Saka vs Young. 2-0 to the Tarquins.
-
Villa 5 Tarquins 0. Watkins 6, 72, Coutinho 37, Chambers 83, Martinez (pen) 89.
-
I don't fancy this at all. 6.30am kick-off for me here.
-
Just win 2-1
-
1-2 Sammy Nelson and Alan Sunderland for them.
-

Just stay up all night on mezcal and it won't feel so bad.

Loved this prediction. Particularly a Martinez penalty.
-
Wouldn't be surprised to see Konsa come in for Chambers and less likely, Sanson for JJ.
A very tricky game, but if we score first we have a decent chance of winning.

It's on the list of options.

As long as Ted Drake doesn’t come on we’ll be fine 👍
-
1-1 Draw for me.

Or Tony Woodcock
-
3-1 to them
-
Konsa and Buendia for Chambers and one of Ings/Watkins I'd say is how Gerrard will go. Their RB last night (Cedric), who I presume is a backup, looked hopeless v Liverpool. If he starts again we need to target him. Saka v Young could be a big mismatch alright. Switch McGinn from the right of Luiz to the left of him I think.
-
1-0 Saunders pen after David O'Leary fouls Yorke in the box. A 1-0 massacre.
-
Late Michael Thomas goal to clinch the victory for Arsenal long after the majority of their fans have left the stadium.
-
They'll be knackered from the Hi-NRG game against Liverpool last night. We'll don the Mr Motivator lycra and put them to the sword.
1-0 Coutinho free-kick in front of the Holte, oh yes.

You're right of course, except it'll be a 20+ yard curler from open play à la Merson against Coventry.

Not a chance. Barry will take it.

8.30 pm in QLD. Perfect. I might head into town to watch it if it’s on TV. Usually just watch on my phone at some ungodly hour in the morning.

Just reading Odegaard might be out for them.

Re Konsa and Buendia, I think you might be right. I'd like to see Sanson get a start though and I can't see him changing too many players.
Re Cedric, Bailey or Traore should definitely get some minutes against him.
-
any type of win please Villa.

This will be tough Arsenal look pretty good at the moment, even in defeat against Liverpool.
-
With Luis reportedly injured if Sanson does not start he never will.
I would revert back to Watkins in front of 2 x 10's
-
We need to play hard and fast in this game.
Arteta not confirming any injuries in his press conference.
-
See Arteta is playing the too many games in too short of time card.Well stay in your technical area and fuck off.

Listen, we want Douglas to be the best version of himself. At the moment his mouth is pretty battered from West Ham's rough treatment but that'll only stop him kissing and talking. We need him to let his feet do the talking and get into areas that can hert Arsenal.

He was training in the little vid on the OS and looked perfectly ok.

Yep this might be the changes made and team too, Ings to drop out for this one, Watkins might want to show Arsenal a thing or two maybe?
Tough game, but im not going to VP with any kind of trepidation, we can beat these.
2-1 (Coutinhio, Watkins)
-
0-2

If Luiz is out, then I can see this...
Martinez
Cash Konsa Mings Young
McGinn
Buendia Ramsey
Coutinho
Watkins Ings

Last time out they battered us through the middle. This line-up looks a little powder-puff.
-
Arsenal complaining about short time between games. Is this the same Arseanal who refused our request to put a game back by 24 hours some years ago?(just noticed the rather appropriate typo!)

Definitely not Watkings. One or the other.

Ollie is a boyhood Gooner. I hope I am wrong but I don't fancy us. Plus Arsenal are going on their annual late run of good form now that the real pressure for league success is off.

Put big Tim in there!!

It’s strange reading the comments on here. If we had played Liverpool on Wednesday night and Arsenal hadn’t had a match, everyone would be saying we’ll be knackered and they’ll be fresh. We would also be saying it’s not fair guv as the turnaround time is so short!!
Having said all that, I’d still settle for a point but, prove me wrong Villa and get all 3!!

You sure about that? I think it’s an 11.30 kick off Melbourne time and you’re an hour behind.

My Dad's mate was at that game and said we played well, but pretty much every time Drake touched the ball, he scored
-
Sorry Robbo.
It's a 8.30 pm kick off here in Perth, Western Australia.
Just about to go out with the wife for our anniversary dinner.
Planning on getting home in time for Ko.
-
I'm feeling lucky. Come on Villa make my day...
2-1 us. Don't care who scores!

Says 9.30 on Optus, but that’s usually EST so I thought 8.30 here. Looks like 9.30 ko. Off to the pub now

We'll be knackered from Cheltenham I bet.
Really hope Gerrard has some plan for protecting the flanks today as Young potentially in 1v1s against Saka dosen't exactly fill me with confidence. Cash also had his poorest game of the season away to them when Tierney and Smith Rowe were overruning him on the right.
If we could protect those areas and do a good job nulifying Odegaard I think we'll get a draw today.
1-1.
