We take on Dirty Leeds at Elland Road on Thursday 10th March at 7.45pm UK time.
Their form is fucking atrocious but they've sacked bucket boy and they are up against a team that has just thrashed Southampton 4-0 so nothing can go wrong, can it?
1-3 to the mighty Villa. FTDLF!
-
I changed my voting strategy to losses for the past two games so am sticking to that. C'mon Villa.
-
This is on live on Canal+ and RMC Sport in France so I can watch it on the telly and not you know how.
-
Jesse Marsch is their manager but is he any good?
-
According to my Leeds mate, they played quite well against Leicester and were unlucky not to take anything from the game. Leicester scored with their one chance of any note and Leeds squandered quite a few good opportunities. Play like we did against Southampton though and we'll stuff them.
-
What BE said.
-
They've lost five on the bounce since they got that draw at Villa Park. The new manager will tighten them up and defensively we're looking more solid too.
But with the players we have coming in to team form, we should have enough. My worry is that they try and sit back.

Well up until the last 2 games despite posting I've never voted. I voted for a loss in both games so see no reason to change.
It will be typical Villa if we follow that up with a disappointing loss though.
-
More positive about this after the last 2 results.
Hopefully we don't return to the newcastle/watford form.
Is it too soon for a Digne/Konsa return?
3 points would be lovely against this lot!
UTV!

For once it's great to have a game so quickly off the back of a good win, hopefully the momentum we have will outweigh any new manager bounce they have.
I'd certainly bring Digne and Konsa back, Chambers was fine on Sat but Ezri is undoubtedly a better player and we don't need to play Young twice in one week.
A hard fought 0-1 victory.
-
0-0

It's on Amazon Prime in the UK
-
Really wouldn't like to predict any of our results at the moment but we have what it takes to twat this lot in theory.
-
So last time we won 4-0 at Villa Park, we beat Derby in the first of our 10-game unbeaten run. The next game we were away at Small Heath and won 1-0, having beaten them 4-2 at home earlier in the season. 6 goals in that game, and there were 6 goals in the game when we played Leeds at home last month, so I reckon we'll beat Leeds on Thursday! Yeah, I know it doesn't work like that but it would be good if it did!
-
I'm going to this I hope we carry on our good form so I'm going for a 1-1 draw.
-

Let's not be daft. We all know how a five-in-a-row run of defeats ends for teams whose next game is Villa.

I watched that game. They really were a lot more organized and if it wasn't for some bad finishing and good saves from Schmeichal then Leeds could have got a win. Leicester mind you weren't exactly great. That said we will need to match their energy and not allow them time and space on the ball. We have looked a lot more compact the last two games and we will have loads of confidence going into this game. I expect Konsa and Digne back in which can only help. I'll go for 2-0 to us; Ollie and PC.
-
just win please Villa :)
UTV
The Doc
-
2-0.
-
Tough place to go, new manager bounce, they are in shit form and we are so often the best team to play against when this is the case. We do seem to struggle against them, although we won up there last season. Hope for the best.
-
Hoping the new Leeds boss is their Remi Garde. Cope with the atmosphere for the first 20 minutes and we can win this.
-
Leeds need this so much - not sure our desire is as focused. 2-0 Leeds hate to say
-
According to their fans, they played at a speed which was even greater than they played at under Bielsa. They were well on top of Leicester over the pitch but Schmeikel (sp) and bad finishing let them down. We will need to match up with the speed they play at and not let them get in behind us.

According to their fans they won the European Cup in 1975. According to their fans Don Revie was unfairly maligned. According to their fans they're a football superpower. You shouldn't take much notice of what their fans say.
-
stupid man bun team
-
3-0 to the Villa. Savo, Taylor and Yorke.
-
Tight one to predict - I watched the Leicester Leeds game Sat and to be fair, Leeds looked transformed from Bielsa ball - the press was still present but it was as strong without the ball as with it which was Bielsa's downfall. Leeds should have won based on chances.
That said, our confidence should be high as well. What I dont like is that our midfield remains light and the press will expose that.
Not sure how this ends but I think it will be a very different game than the 3-3 at VP
-
I read an article on Leeds Live. They apparently haven't coped well against teams playing 2 up front. Defensive masterclass incoming. Bamford will no doubt play too.
What I love is that we have options off the bench now. Bailey, Buendia and Traore are good options to change things if Plan A isn't working...

Well it was also being said by the commentator on Radio 5 Live for the 20 minutes or so I was in the car.

MOTD showed one of the Leeds chances but none of the Soton one's against us. Make of that what you will.
-
We should win this one but we are the very definition of inconsistency and not good against physical teams, so I don't have a clue.
-

Before my time but I've watched the highlights a couple of times on YT and they were robbed. Some scandalous refereeing decisions.

Weren't they quite hard done by in the Champions League as well?
Which is a massive shame, obviously.

Yep, almost as scandalous as the Jeff Astle goal in 1971.
Did I just say scandalous? I meant hilarious
-
1-2 win for villa

They are pressing with the ball?
I think I might have spotted the problem.
-
2-1 defeat. We are the epitome of in inconsistent at the moment and think that will continue
-
I think Leeds will need a while to get used to the departure of Bielsa and the new boss is untried in the Premier League. I hate to tempt fate but I think it is a good time to play Leeds.
-
Think it will be similar to the home game - after a professional start by both teams we'll get pulled into a more gung-ho game.
Score draw, maybe 2-2. (though I have voted for a leeds win)
-
When was the last time we won 3 on the bounce?
-
When was the last time we won 3 on the bounce?
If you're counting cup games then it was the first 3 games of last season. In the league it was when we had that 10 game winning run when we got promoted
-
And the last 3 in a row in the Preeemier League? Not some O'Neill or Gregory record, is it?
-
And the last 3 in a row in the Preeemier League? Not some O'Neill or Gregory record, is it?
Can't be arsed to check but it must be under mon at the very worst.
-
It was 2010
Portsmouth away 2-1
Hull away 2-0
Blues home 1-0
-
Surely we won our first four PL games last season?
1-0 v Sheff U
3-0 @ Fulham
7-2 v Liverpool
1-0 @ Leicester
Including League Cup games, we had a four game run up to and including the Fulham match, but then lost at Stoke.
-
I’m hoping now Bielsa has gone they may be less gung-ho and still shit at the back. They did have quite a blinder against us, fully committed and seemed more up for that game than the games that followed.
I hope our defence and midfield have learned from the last game against them as James seemed to boss them all, he ran rings round them.
-
SG well knows that the last game against them led to our mini-slump. We got sucked in to their game plan.
Won't happen again, if you ask me.
I am betting on a Villa win.
-
Let's just win, any kind of win and grind these horrible fuckers into the relegation mess.
-

It led to a continuation of their slump too. Now they're in a bigger mess. It won't be a walk in the park but we should have enough to overcome what ever they throw at us.
-
Patrick Bamford to return and score, game of 2 defences 1-2 to us
-

They kept Leicester to less than 1.0xG. SO they seem to be better.
-
Almost fully fit squad to choose from. Expect the same midfield then. Hopeful that "The Diamond" seems to be having a positive effect in the final third, with the option of being more expansive from the bench with Bailey/Bertie available. Need to be a lot tighter between the lines than the other week as that gap between the D and the M was exploited horribly. Voted draw as it seems to have worked the last 2 games. 3 wins on the spin would put us in a strong postion to push for a good final spot in the league.

If Konsa and Digne tested positive on Friday or even Saturday they probably wont clear yet or at very best wont have trained properly. Can’t see anything but the same team with changes for West Ham.
Cliche, but they will be pumped from the first minute. If we can quiet the crowd and keep a clean sheet for first twenty minutes, we’ll beat these. Phil pulling the strings and Watkins and Ings doing a when Harry met Sally, and finally admitting they are into each other.
2-0 (Watkins and Ings).
Cmon the lads
-
Gerrard said they are both available and only Nakamba missing
-
Konsa or Mings with a header. Cash to fire one in. Digne to cross for Coutinho to put it on a plate for Ramsey.
Ayling to get sent off.
-
Gerrard said they are both available and only Nakamba missing
Ahh, hadnt read that, both back in then.

So, that's what happens after the Meg elicits a "I'll have whatever she's having" in the diner? It's the only part of the movie I know.
Anyway, Harry (Ings) and Sally (Watkins) looked pretty close after each others goals on Saturday. Their hands were all over each other.
-

He might keep Chambers in, particularly if Bamford is still out.
-
If anyone could delay kickoff by 15 minutes it would be much appreciated. I resent having to get up before 7am to watch a match.
-
Smote them please - rather they go down. Far too much meeja love for them in the last 3 years.
Leopards don't change their spots
-
How about lepers?
-
Let's just win, any kind of win and grind these horrible fuckers into the relegation mess.
That suits me fine.

Lepers are a bit dirty in the tackle. Keep leaving their foot in.
-
Patrick Bamford 1- Villa more.
🤞

Missing my first and hopefully only game of the season. Work commitments early tomorrow morning have scuppered me. I hate watching Villa on TV but Amazon Prime it is. Hopefully build on the last two performances and results. Konsa and Digne straight back in after a rest. Keep Leeds quiet for 10 mins and gradually build into the game. Maybe Bailey or Traore off the bench to win it for Villa.
-
On behalf of all Yorkshire based Villains, please just smash 'em!
-
Bamford was back in the squad last week, but didn't play. I wouldn't expect him to start tonight, or if he does, not to play the whole match.
-
Ah Leeds again. Perennial wankers.
My first ever match was Leeds United at home. Have a memory of Stan about to be sent off as one of their neanderthals clattered into him and the bent referee didn't even flinch until he got in his face to ask where the booking was. Remember the carthorse Deane upfront for them.
I remember them getting knocked out of Europe and at the post match interview Wilkinson was like onto Ipswich in Saturday! - they lost 4-2 - ha! Even remember the score. One of those weird obscure things you remember for no apparent reason yet I cant remember my younger sister's birthday - still don't know if its the 8th or 9th Nov for sure.
Other memories:
The 3-0 Cup final win and they had Tony Yeboah upfront and he didn't get a kick.
Getting home late from my Gran's on a Sunday afternoon , went onto teletext to check the Villa v Leeds score only to be confronted with a 10 second clip of Townsend breaking free from midfield to slot home the 1-0 winner !
Taking the whole Remy clan for their first game together and losing 3-2 thanks to dopey Elmo.
Clueless being in charge of them and the wankfest in the national tabloids was never-ending. Never ceased to remind everyone how he got them to the quarter or semi finals of the CL.
Something about their chairman being a complete doughnut over the clubs finances - the Anti-Doug and pissed away millions.
My Dad telling me how these knuckledraggers met their midland counterparts and destroyed most of the town centre in the mid eighties.
Their laughable time in the 3rd division.
Poor sportsmanship on their 1st goal at Elland road but fair play, Beilsa told them to give us a goal back.
I am going for a comfortable 2-0 win. Ollie and Danny.
-
Currently waiting for my mate at Piccadilly would be rude not to take in some ale trail pubs on the trip over the Pennines. Stalybridge here we come…..
-
A Leeds fans pole revealed only 20% thought it was the right decision to sack Bielsa, which is amazing. I reckon Leeds fans are gonna expect results soon from Marsch, otherwise they will be on his back. Going for a Villa win, but having said that wouldn't be surprised, if Bamford came off the bench to score the winner.
-
We seem to have a largely piss poor record against Leeds. Tonights where we can put that right. At some point we need to start flicking our bogies. Or wiping on the wall...you know what I mean.
-
I watched Jesse Marsch's press conference earlier. He's certainly different.
-
Very unlikely that we’ll win three on the bounce albeit Dirty Leeds not playing well - so 1-1 draw for me.
-

I feel bad for the little fella who translated for Bielsa. Wtf will he do now?

He did ok, as far as I understand he got bielsa's bucket as his payment settlement
-
Early goal and ride out a 1-0 win

Dotun Adebayo tweeted something similar and then felt it was best to retract it.

They're sensitive souls in Leeds.
