All correct.

Done.

Spot in Dave, but to just accept what is unquestionably referee bias is hard to take.
Quis custodiet ipso custodes.
It’s PGML and it’s rigged.
-
Astute article. I agree with every word. Salah dived.

Great read Dave.

Well written.
One thing I'd read before, suppose you're a ref, one of the old firm Vs Livingston or somesuch team. OF team at home, need 3pts to secure the title. There's 6 games left, there's no way they're not winning the league. Livingston have nothing riding on the game, they're not getting in Europe and they're not going down.
The OF team have a debatable penalty call in the eighty-something minute. You'd like to think that you'd be fair, but it's it really worth dealing with no end of (insert OF team) supporters for the next week over something that'll have no effect on the outcome? In the street, on social media - just constant harassment until they have something new to think about. There must be a nagging thing in the back of your mind, particularly if you've then got the VAR chap whispering sweet nothings in your ear.
I don't think it's some kind of conscious bias, but especially with the high profile, global nature of the PL it wouldn't at all surprise me if that came in to play. And VAR, rather than making the situation better, could we'll end up making it more pronounced.

Done.
Just as a matter of interest, what's "done"?

Published on H&V Facebook page I think (?)

Great read Dave.
Thanks Daz.

Correct.

Smack on Dave, always has been that way. Algy makes an excellent point. Referees should not be forced into making instant decisions, in the heat of the moment, with thousands of fans screaming down their neck, particularly when their view might been been obstructed or their angle restrictive.
As we all know too well, penalty decisions are crucial and often determine the outcome of a game. I propose a change in the game. Scrap the faceless VAR panel and literally make the referees decision final.
If the ref thinks there might have been a penalty infringement in the box, he signals a 'square' sign and at the next stop in play goes to the monitor to look at the incident from all angles available before making a final decision.
Monitors should be available behind both sets of goal posts and the referee 'miked up' to address the crowd and give the reason behind his decision.
The ref could do the same when it comes to 'straight red' offences.
Just a thought.

I think maybe we should let var moniter all incidents in the penalty area and just leave refs to keep the game going, Also noticed the constant harassment of the 4th official by Jurgen Klopp surly that is a red or yellow card offence.

Exactly my thoughts. Send Klopp to the stands if he won't shut up.
