Draw is on Monday 6th December at 7pm. Who will we get?
I’ll go Borehamwood or St Albans away. Nice easy one to get ‘our year’ underway.
-
Coventry away
-
League 1/2 side at home please. Something where we can give a bit of time to Archer, Chucky & JPB where it won't be too easy for them, but we'd still be highly confident of winning.
-
A league two club or lower please so our youbgsters get game time
-
Kidderminster Harriers at home.
-
It doesn't matter who we get. It's our year to win the cup
-
It's encouraging that Gerrard has referenced the FA Cup on a number of occasions since becoming manager.
-
It's on ITV 4
-
Hopefully we get someone shit. Similarly in rounds 4,5,6,7 & 8. That sort of run other teams seem to get, the ones where in no round do we have to play someone higher in the league than ourselves. I'll take that.
-
We'll have Liverpool or Manchester City.
'Easy' draws rarely come to us, even when there's 63 teams to pick from.
-
1. AFC Bournemouth
2. Arsenal
3. Aston Villa
4. Barnsley
5. Birmingham City
6. Blackburn Rovers
7. Blackpool

64. Harrogate Town
TIES TO BE PLAYED BETWEEN FRIDAY 7 January 2022 & MONDAY 10 January 2022
-
Kidderminster Harriers at home.
This!
-
When was last time we actually won an FA cup tie, Liverpool at Wembley?!
We're overdue winning a few rounds at least to get some mild excitement going.
-
Boreham wood or st albans please. Both close to me!
-

Wycombe at home in the 3rd round replay in 2016
-
Anyone but nos. 23, 25 or 26 but hopefully 64 at home.
-
26 at home to 3 :(
-
We all know it’ll be Man United don’t we?
-
Spurs away. Nailed on.
-
Yeovil at home would be good. One of my ancestral home towns
-
I’d like Luton either way 👍
-
Coventry away
That could be fun.
-
Number 5 away please.
-
Unlucky 13 away (hope not).
-
A non Premier League team please.
-
AFC Wimbledon or Coventry.
-
Number 13 v number 3.
It’s written in law.
-
Blackburn away might be a decent trip. Loads of tickets for the travelling fans. Not too far to go. Should beat them. Should.
-
Harrogate Town away, please :-)
-
Anyone but the unwashed filth at the sty.
Wouldnt mind derby
-
Anyone but the unwashed filth at the sty.
Wouldnt mind derby
I want the rags away because I'm convinced they'd asked the venue to be switched, like some two bob non-league club.
-
Kidderminster Away please.
-
We all know Villa will be drawn away to Chelsea or Liverpool, while Man City host The Dog and Duck.
-
They've put our ball aside to warm up later already.
-

A CGI-generated hologram of Bert Millichip will be making the draw.

Drawing the away teams of course.

Vladivostock here we come.

They can heat up the Man U ball as much as they like this season.
-
About time we got Blackburn or ManUre again.
-
Small Heath at home, you know you want it.
-
A north west away would be great after the money I’ve shelved out so far this season, more likely to be Bristol city or Yeovil away 🤦♂️
-
Small Heath at home, you know you want it.
I definitely dont. We beaten them enough times to worry about . Nothing left to prove.
-
I would love Small Heath at home.
-
No because they will end up bringing everyone they have finally just got home from Bruges and turn the place into a pig sty then claim how fcukin fantastical their support is and da vile are shit coz they can't fill their ground at home to them. We will also be subjected to 90 minutes of that shit song of theirs.
-
We'd fucking batter them into next week playing like we are now, they'd all be on the way home with half an hour left like when they got humped 5-1.
-
Why give them something to get excited about? Let them suffer, as they only care about matches against us.
-
I would rather SHA get someone like Luton, no big gate for them to get a slice of and no TV . Would also hurt them more if we did them in a later round ;D
Hopefully we can avoid other Prem teams for once and the non-leaguers too, someone like Port Vale or Plymouth at VP perhaps?
-
They'd have 6,000 tickets, it'd be midday on Sunday, there'd be days of hype, the usual upheaval to the normal matchday routine because they can't be allowed within two hundred yards of decent folk and they'd be celebrating a moral victory until 2024.
-
Just like we will never play them in the League again, I would be happy if we never played them in either of the Cups again. Although there would be something beautiful about absolutely destroying them in an FA Cup Final.
-
Propa Blues, working class fans, all their trains are going towards Stafford, not Birmingham, if that shot from Juicy had been on target we would've won that game, if the referee hadn't given da vile that penalty when Craig (propa Blues, hates da vile) broke that DVB's leg in the box we would've got a replay and done them at Stans. KRO SOTV.
-
Swindon please
-
Can we just win the bloody thing this season please? I'm sick of watching other teams lift the trophy.
-
Can we just win the bloody thing this season please? I'm sick of watching other teams lift the trophy.
Can I suggest that the trophy be referred to as The Holy Grail?
But hopefully for not too long@
-
Wigan Athletic - Away
-
By the way it's on ITV before the second round tie & local derby of Borehamwood v St Albans City.
-
I reckon it'll be Liverpool again.
-
Is this being done on the Today Show or whatever it is that's presented by Dan Walker/Ben Shepherd/Alan Partridge?
-
The draw is on ITV4 tonight. ITV fucking 4 !!!
Who the fuck has ever watched anything on ITV4?
Is that a sign of how insignificant the competition is now?
-
An away draw to a team in or near Gtr London where I'll stand a dog's chance of getting a ticket.
Probably will get something really dull like Swansea at home or something...
-
I wouldn't mind drawing FC Girona or at a pinch Montpellier or Toulouse.
-
Gillingham
-
I've a feeling it will be Leicester City at home.
-
I find myself clenching because:
a) nervous who we will get and
b) how badly done the draw will be
-
Seema Jaswal hosting it, I'm feeling good about this draw already.
-
Laughing buffoon Seaman doing the draw.
-
Yeovik
-
Stoke
-
Swansea
-
Chelsea
-
Oh god
-
Cardiff
-
Burnley
-
That’s West Brom out
-
We’re going to get manure aren’t we.
-
Are we in it?
-
Gonna be a few PL clashes.
-
which of the scab 6 will we get
-
Not Millwall , phew.
-
She Chealsea and Spurs both get byes
-
Fuck the fuck off
-
think well get west ham or man u
-
How many times!
-
We’re going to get manure aren’t we.
You are the winner!
-
Well who'd have guessed that eh?
-
Oh well, next year ….
-
Manchester United - Steve Gerrard will be up for that
-
Ffs
-
Not again, fuck sake
-
Ridiculous!
-
Fucking hell!!! We always get a top team draw.
-
Oh FFS
-
Just fuck off
-
Damn I really didn't want them.
-
Has to be fixed.
-
You couldn’t make this shit up.
-
12,000 of us to see us win again, bring it on
-
Its such a fucking fix
-
well.. shit.
-
Fucking hell
-
At least we didn't get one of the top clubs.
-
Has to be fixed.
Annoying draw but what a stupid comment
-
☺️☺️☺️😳
-
At least we didn't get one of the top clubs.
Exactly, we beat them when we were crap, we'll batter them now.
-
About time we got a bye into the next round for once. Our Steven dancing down the touchline again.
-
Has to be fixed.
Annoying draw but what a stupid comment
My money is with TonyD - I have thought it for years
-
And a collective FFS was heard over much of the West Mids at 7:13
-
Fucking nightmare
-
Has to be fixed.
Annoying draw but what a stupid comment
My money is with TonyD - I have thought it for years
Are you for real? Who would fix that, and why?
-
How many Fcukin times is that now?
-
Has to be fixed.
Annoying draw but what a stupid comment
I don't think it's that stupid
-
26 at home to 3 :(
^^^ :)
-
How many fucking times has this happened in recent years?
-
It must be some sick record. Must be the most drawn 3rd round fixture ever
-
Has to be fixed.
Annoying draw but what a stupid comment
My money is with TonyD - I have thought it for years
Are you for real? Who would fix that, and why?
FA, TV etc. Im only half joking. They had to pick them at home cos they thought we woudl beat them at Villa Park :-)
-
And of course even a draw won't be good enough. No replays was what the Sky6 wanted and therefore got.
-
We all know it’ll be Man United don’t we?
Well.
-
Has to be fixed.

It’s an unlucky run, but thinking there is some sinister group at the FA deciding that what is really needed is Villa playing away too Man Utd, for no real reason, and bringing ex keeper David Seaman into the conspiracy, is fucking lunacy.
-
Are people saying the whole draw was fixed to create such an uninspiring set of fixtures or was just ours fixed?
-
And a collective FFS was heard over much of the West Mids at 7:13
And Ireland.
We'll be leading 2-1 with 5 mins left, then Ronaldo scores a goal deflected off Mings before heading the winner in the 90+6th minute after the ref had indicated 3 additional minutes.
-
Made a good job of warming the balls then, evidently!
I've had a lousy day, and this just puts the tin lid on it. At least I'll save some money!
:'(

I'd rather play them up there, we've got a better record.
-
Well we are owed a cup victory over them.
I hope it's decided by a dodgy penno to us and it leads to scores of fans celebrating over the hoardings
-
Any idea on allocation?
-
Conspiracy theorists are everywhere!
-
Has to be fixed.

Well clearly it is. But - my half serious theory is that they need an all premiership tie - thats why villa keep getting man utd, and liverpool last year.
Its a glitzy tie, but as good as a bye for the scab 6
-
Apart from Man City and Liverpool, I'd say we'd have a decent chance of beating anyone. For this one, will their new manager have improved them by next month to make them significantly better than the team we beat last month? We're improving, how much are they improving? It's the first time we've drawn them when I've not thought, that's us out then.
-
Gerrard will have everyone bang up for this tie. Manure have blown hot and cold this season and we can win this.
-

Ex-SHA goal keeper, course he's in on it.

-
What's with all the negativity we no longer fear them, we've already beaten them there, we'll do it again.
-
Are people saying the whole draw was fixed to create such an uninspiring set of fixtures or was just ours fixed?
The tin foil hat wearing version of me is saying thats it.
Byes for most of the Scab 6
1 is risked in glitzy tie - Villa are good for that - Big name, but never going to win
-
Man United fans on Twitter complaining about not getting an easy draw
So I suppose thats something
-
FFS
-
'The Mighty Reds YNWA'
Citeh
Spuds
Chelski
All drew lower league opposition.
Booooooo!!!!
-
Just as they start purring under Rangnick, no doubt
-
5th time in the third round since 2001.
Along with various draws like Spurs, Man City , Liverpool and Arsenal in rounds 3 and 4
I guess the counter argument is we’ve had the likes of Swansea and Peterborough and still lost.
-
We'll be beating them twice in a week. PL game at Villa Park on Jan 15th.
-

"Big name.". For most people, we're not a big name. Anyone under 50 doesn't remember the glory days of the 1980s, or has knowledge of football history. "Never going to win". We beat them last month. We can do it again. It's the best chance we've had of knocking them out of the cup in donkeys years.
-
5th time in 21 3rd round draws. Was 4 in 7 from 01/02
-
It's not great at all. I just knew David Seaman was going to pick number 3 when Man Utd came out.
However, there are replays in Round 3 and Round 4 of the FA Cup this season.
-
https://twitter.com/AVFCStatto/status/1467937358762983431?t=Mc5WqqjZGGeXAwYqpGv_cw&s=08
So the last time we beat them in the FA Cup was 1957 you say.
Whisper it, but I think it might be our year...
-
Man United away.
Again.
It's like they put a magnet on the fucking balls.
-

Of course were a big name - beyond the scab 6 - not many with a bigger following and tv revenues. And you get players like G Nev come out and do the tenious link to Ryan Giggs goal in the Semi Final at Villa Park
I think if we beat them, we win the thing.
Look its obviously not a fix. But I could almost believe it was.
-
At one time my ambition was to live to see us win the FA Cup. Now it’s to live to see us win an FA Cup tie.
-
How many tickets would be get for this?
-
It will be my first away game of the season I hope. Awful draw though.
-
Joke screwed again. Who at the fa hates us?
-
I’m guessing Millwall Palace won’t be the same day as West Ham Leeds. Just a hunch.
-
If you want to extend the conspiracy theory we would have drawn them in 1999/2000 but the FA insisted they play in the World Club Cup so we played Darlington who went back in to the draw as a lucky loser in Round 2.
-
They'll be more worried than us.
-
Well we will get a good number of tickets given the capacity.
Of course it will be live on TV as well. I can't remember the last time a Man Utd FA cup tie was not televised.
-

I have been trying to caciulate these odds - but its been too long. Am I right including this - in the last 20 years we have drawn them 5 times in the third round?
-
How many tickets would be get for this?
I have heard 12 K under cup rules, but I may be wrong.
-

Did Darlington take United's number? If we had played United I wouldn't have wasted so much money going to Wembley.
-
United are nothing to worry about. Stevie G will have it sussed. This isn't the Fergie team of previous years.
-
Good to know we will remove Manchester United from the early rounds of the FA Cup as they could pose a problem in the later rounds as they seem to get a bit stronger. We will be too strong and workmanlike for them. Shame but someone has to lose. Might as well be Manchester United.
-

It should be about ten but you can guarantee we won't get that many.
-

I doubt it

I couldn't remember but it seems not.

-
Must be a few years since we won twice at Old Trafford in the same season.
-
Too many people writing us off already for my liking.
-
Couple of observations. There is no conspiracy, it is the luck (or not) of the draw.
I also understand people being optimistic, of course we can win the game but there's a smaller chance than if we had drawn any of 60 other clubs in the competition. So I am monumentally pissed off with it.
-
Are replays still a thing?
Haven't actually played them for a while in the cup but would love to know the draw simulator odds given we must've played them about 4-5 times in 3rd round in last 20 years.
-
Is Bert Millichip back at the FA?
-
How many tickets would be get for this?
I have heard 12 K under cup rules, but I may be wrong.
It's 9k. The usual stuck in the corner bit as for the league and then get the Upper tier behind the goal at that end.
-

I thought it was 15% of working capacity
-
Is David Seaman Krusty the Clown , that inane laugh every time he drew a ball .
-
Are there any stattos out there who know the most drawn FA Cup third round tie? It has to be us and United, surely. It’s as sure a thing as Chelsea getting an easy home draw - nailed on.
-
It should be 11250 tickets but it won’t be due to some advice or other. I reckon we will get 7500 tops.
-
Yes, 15% of working capacity is the ordinary entitlement of the away team supporters for FA Cup ties. That can be reduced though, if safety considerations warrant it. Man Utd fans didn't take too kindly, just a few years ago, when Arsenal denied them such an allocation, so I'd expect an allocation of some 9-10,000 for this game. The draw couldn't be very much worse for us really though, as United I'm sure will be looking to the FA Cup as their best chance for silverware this season.
-
It does remind me of that Wimbledon match with the fifth set going to a ridiculous amount of games as the decider. Suss.
We’ll batter those tossers anyway. OT probably won’t be full either but a few may come out of the woodwork to have a go at Gerrard.
-
Has to be fixed.
Annoying draw but what a stupid comment
My money is with TonyD - I have thought it for years
You can literally watch them draw out the black ball inside a see through container. If Derren Brown or Dynamo was doing the draw I'd have my doubts. Orrr are you guys joking and I've just made a right tit of myself?
-

Well so are we so they can forget it.
-
At one time my ambition was to live to see us win the FA Cup. Now it’s to live to see us win an FA Cup tie.
Make sure you get your booster jab in order to be around next season.
-
Bound to be switched for some godforsaken TV slot
-
About time we got Blackburn or ManUre again.
Sorry about that.
-
You bar steward eamonn. Totally your falt.
-
Numbered balls allegedly being drawn at random have been the bane of my life, causing continual disappointment for the last quarter of a century.
Every Saturday and Wednesday, and most years a fucking Monday in December.
FTF. This time next year I'll be millionaire and the Villa will have won the Cup in my lifetime !
.
-
I would love us to go there and win. Properly exercise a good few demons from the past 25 years: especially that horror show last 15 minutes on 6 January 2002.
-

Tit!

Last season it was Liverpool and we had to play our weakened Youth team against their full strength team and now it is United away Chuck in Chelsea away in the League cup and you begin to wonder why we seem to have no luck at all in any of the cups these days
-

Just realised it is the Battle of Albion as well this round.

Those 5 minutes knocked the stuffing out of us. I remember Gregory bringing on three subs with about 3 minutes remaining (took Merson off). It was just the worst.
-
If our name's on the Cup, we'll beat 'em, it's as simple as that.
-
Chico, still got that flag? If I can change my flights I'll take it in the Home End. They're a bunch of self-entitled, gloryhunting twats. Plastic PLC FC, everything I'm proud we're not.
-
Well we will get a good number of tickets given the capacity.
Of course it will be live on TV as well. I can't remember the last time a Man Utd FA cup tie was not televised.
I think there was one last season, they were at home to Barnsley or some other dull such. It had been the first one for about five seasons
-
Will be going with my Bluenose mrs to the Half A Ground to sit with about 10,000 other saps, half of whom will be wearing green
-

It’s Alex Alex Cropley’s flag. And still intact as far as I know.
-
I thought there were more than this... depressing that most of them were at Villa Park.
06 Jan 2002 Aston Villa v Manchester United 2-3 FA Cup
04 Jan 2004 Aston Villa v Manchester United 1-2 FA Cup
07 Jan 2007 Manchester United v Aston Villa 2-1 FA Cup
05 Jan 2008 Aston Villa v Manchester United 0-2 FA Cup
-
I was at that 2002 one with the old man in the Holte. He kind of half went up when their 2nd one went in and I had to diffuse the situation developing around us. Thought we were going to get leathered at one point. Plus having to deal with the sight of all those scumbags swarming on from the lower Witton.
-
Last season it was Liverpool and we had to play our weakened Youth team against their full strength team and now it is United away Chuck in Chelsea away in the League cup and you begin to wonder why we seem to have no luck at all in any of the cups these days
But then before that we had Fulham, Swansea and Peterborough and still couldn't scrape a win.
-

We lasted 5 minutes in one league game. Beckham scored, loads went up around us, our kid protested vociferously and ended up getting thrown out. We watched the rest of the defeat in the Aston Hotel next door.
I think my moaning about it might have been my first post on here.
-
I remember some self-entitled idiot calling 5Live because him and his daughter found themselves less than welcome after celebrating one of their goals while sitting on the Holte. Can't remember the game but what did he expect?
-
That evening was the catalyst to me giving up my Season Ticket after 25 years. The stupid KO time, a bloke getting a kicking from a load of mancs on Witton Lane, the horrible atmosphere in the ground and outside. None of my mates went so I was on my own and I thought to myself when I got home: "do I really want to go through this sort of thing on a Sunday evening?".
-
Watch us beat them and then lose at home to Boreham Wood in the 4th round!
-
I remember some self-entitled idiot calling 5Live because him and his daughter found themselves less than welcome after celebrating one of their goals while sitting on the Holte. Can't remember the game but what did he expect?
That happened after the 1-1 in 2015 as well. The guy's son cheered Falcao's header and people around told the stewards to kick them out and he was on the radio whingeing about it ;D
-
Once again the Law of coincidence has a coach and fucking horses driven through it.
-
All I have are memories of whisky nose bringing on Van horse face then the game changed. Then who can forget Kiralys fcuk up at their place. The stupid pyjama wearing tosser.
-
Pity OGS couldn't still have been there - apparently the new bloke is a cross between Pepe Guardiola, Sir Alf Ramsey and Jurgen Klopp if you believe all the crap they've been spouting since they obliterated the Mighty Crystal Palace 1:0.......
-
Beating Man United reserves 3-0 in the League Cup with Bozzie getting dog's abuse is a much better memory!
-
Pity OGS couldn't still have been there - apparently the new bloke is a cross between Pepe Guardiola, Sir Alf Ramsey and Jurgen Klopp if you believe all the crap they've been spouting since they obliterated the Mighty Crystal Palace 1:0.......
Init. We're just the invited sacrifice to the next stage of the Rangnick revolution. It's one thing drawing a tough away tie, another having to put up with all that plastic manc crap.
-
We're actually fucking cursed. A decent cup run? Nah, how about getting a megaclub just when they've fired the incompetent guy and hired a ruthless German. Every year.
-
Ah well, we beat their full squad earlier in the season, so we'll beat whatever weakened squad they put out this time as well. Fuck em.
-
I would love us to go there and win. Properly exercise a good few demons from the past 25 years: especially that horror show last 15 minutes on 6 January 2002.
What an appalling collapse that was.
Those 5 minutes knocked the stuffing out of us. I remember Gregory bringing on three subs with about 3 minutes remaining (took Merson off). It was just the worst.
Giving them the whole of the lower Witton aswell was such a brain dead decision aswell. Can remember barely anyone in media giving them a tough time with the pitch invasions after the goal compared to the reaction after the West Brom cup game.
-
I just loathe the British press's utter-wankfest about yanited "biggest club in the World" - my arse - Bayern, Real and Barcelona dwarf them.

I seem to recall back in the 90s a Man U (or some other glory team) fan writing into the Villa programme to complain he had sat with his family on the Holte End and got abused.
Doug Ellis printed the letter in the programme and told us it was just not on and we need to behave better etc.
Practically encouraging away fans to sit in the home ends!

Much as I hate them, they're probably the biggest globally. The Premier League and the English language have a lot to answer for.
-
I really hope we beat them.
-
Just noticed we play them in league at VP a week later.
Hope it's not like 2007 when we played them three times in three weeks and of course lost them all.
I think Ragnick will likely look at a few fringe players so will be a mix and match team. Can't see Gerrard going anything but full strength so we'll give it a proper go regardless of result.

Quite true. At the very least, they really are not 'dwarfed' by anybody.

Chelski always seem to get easy draws .. Flukey fuckers .
Anyway we can do these , SG will have us better than we are now.
-
All I have are memories of whisky nose bringing on Van horse face then the game changed. Then who can forget Kiralys fcuk up at their place. The stupid pyjama wearing tosser.
I can't, I have an irrational hate for the man to this day, and he sullied the good name of this club turning in out in a pair of sub-Sports Direct joggers.
-

I think we just might. This new bloke will take time to settle and they might well be in another crisis by then.
-
The draw has pissed me off.
I look forward to the FA Cup every year and a little bit of hope inside my heart drifts away when we go out.
Please just win.
Imagine if after not winning at home against these for 26 years or however long it is, we win three in the same season.
It would be typical.
I think it just might happen 8)

Didn't he have to wear those joggers because he has an allergy to grass? Not ideal for a professional footballer.

There's nothing irrational about it.

I can't stop thinking about Bert Milichip's warm balls.

Did Randy read that and feel emboldened when canvassing Siralix's opinion ahead of appointing McLeish ?!
-
Big fan of the new location, Eamonn!
-
In fairness we’ve had some piss easy draws in both cups over the last decade and still managed to fuck most of them up
Made it to the final a couple of times as well
All to play for
-
its Manure at TTOD on prime time TV with all sorts of Pro Red Royal Wedding type punditry.
Yeh I am sure the game will be reffed fairly and squarely.

Anyone ever heard of the guy before?...
-
One thing is for certain, whether it was us or MK Dons, the game will be televised.
Oh hang on, since they're no longer a top club the BBC broke the ritual of broadcasting every single consecutive cup game involving the Plastics. It was some run though, 12 (TWELVE) years and 58 games.
-
Reasons to be positive:
We probably have a better chance of winning up there.
They have new manager bounce, but their cough might be softened by then.
We'll surely win one of the ties in the 2 weeks?
Shades of '57
Our manager will approach this game differently than previous managers have, in terms of attitude anyway.
We're basically going into this game a dodgy decision and an inevitable penalty down, so we will need to score 3 to beat them. Hopefully Ollie stays fit as he is our best chance of goals right now.
-
You've got to play the "big boys" at some point.
-
Chelski always seem to get easy draws .. Flukey fuckers .
This is a regular bone of contention on the Yanited forum i.e. Chelski and Citeh get easy draws in the early rounds of cups. Here are Yanited's 3rd round draws for the last 10 years so not really an accusation that could be thrown at them recently (apologies for the use of United).
United v Villa
United v Watford
Wolves v United
United v Reading
United v Reading (again)
Yeovil v United
United v Swansea
West Ham v United
Citeh v United
United v Liverpool

A mancunian Man United fan I'm mates with said he's nervous about this draw. He had hoped for an easier draw.
I think Gerrard will approach cup ties differently to how Smith did. I can't see him changing all 11 players and I think the only kids he'll use are ones who are already in his thoughts in league games. He'll have to go strong with this game so it's a shame that we don't get to see what his approach would be against lower league opponents.
-
Full strength team for this, he's made noises since he joined about the FA Cup which suggest either someone has tipped him off that it means a bit more to us than most, or he's been canny enough to work it out for himself.
-
He's also the type that wants to win everything and will understand what a good cup run can do for a club. He won't let the players think it's ok to get knocked out or send out negative vibes by fielding a weak team selection.

yeah if we're about 8th/ 9th/10th or lower come January I can't see any reason why we wouldn't go for it.
-
We have to go for it. First 11 and nothing else please.

Absolutely. We're not in Europe or the League cup so every game from now on we have to go for 100% to win.

This is something I quite often think. If you're not in Europe, why not go full strength in every cup game? It's not like you're going to have massive fixture congestion even if you reach the final of one of them.

No doubt we'll sell out again, but what a rubbish KO time for away (and in this case home) fans.

I'm not sure there's ever been a Man Utd FA Cup tie not shown on the BBC (when they've had the rights to show the FA Cup).
-
Monday night what a absolutely crap day and time for the game
-
There was one recent-ish. It was the first and, to date, as far as I'm aware, only time since the dawn of tellyball that a Cup tie of theirs hadn't been shown.

Indeed. It actually made news. Up until then the record stood at 12 years and 58 games. And you wonder why so many small clubs are struggling and why there's so many plastic wankers. Thank you, BBC.
-
Last train back to Brum is 2207, so yeah f*** the fans as usual.
-
If you could only win one
League or cup?
Although it has been a very long time since we beat them in the league at VP it would have to be the cup for me - but knowing our luck it would be Chelsea / 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' next round

When has Sky/BT/Amazon ever given a toss about the travelling fans?
We're only there to provide "atmosphere" for the sofa supporters.
Never had Sky/BT/Amazon - bootleg services for me - stealing the game back from them one match at a time.
-
Why don’t the bbc just fcuk off. I’ll even miss the end of the first episode of Corrie.
-
Well that's that trip scuppered then
-

Same here. Might not even get to see it on TV either.

My 11 year old is mad to go to a couple of away games, he did some in the championship a couple of years back, struggle to get tickets now as although we're season ticket holders, we haven't got enough away booking history. Fancied this with the extra tickets, but late Monday night with school for him before and then the next day is a bit shite.
-

You can go and watch it live at Granada!

Well, at least we'll definitely* be in the hat for the fourth round!
*based on an assumption they'll not let this stop them doing the draw at 7 on the Monday.

Man Utd or Aston Villa.......will play Boreham Wood
BBC team "Great draw for United, dream draw for Boreham. Live on the BBC"

I think every manu cup game has been on the beeb since that season they decided they were too big and important to play in it.

The shittest time for a FA cup tie.
And on TV. Free on BBC.
This won’t sell out.
-
Once the game is over, I will be able to turn off the telly and go to bed!
I predict we will lose on a penalty shoot out.
-
I guess I will go because it’s an opportunity to get an away fixture on my own booking history & who knows when I might be able to get that to add up to something.
It isn’t that far from work in Blackburn. Manchester is about half way between home and Birmingham so not too much different in terms of getting home, but I think my route will be less traffic heavy & I know most of it well.
It is still a shit kick off time though!
-

It'll be a replay won't it?

They can flash-up the modern-day equivalent scoreboard-message of "Ken and Deirdre re-united. Ken 1 Baldwin 0" like wot they done at Old Trafford back in the day. I believe we were the Champions of England at the time...
-
News to be anounced later today.
-
Well there we have it, apparently 76,000 x 15% = 3,000.
-
The club are pleased to announce? What a load of horseshit.
-
At least it's only £30. Can only assume that we negotiated that to take the lower allocation.
-

We did. They wanted to charge more, we wanted £30, they said to do that we had to settle for 3,000. It is, to all intents, a fucking disgrace.

Absolute fucking joke.

A p-ss-take by the sh-te of the north.
Disgraceful by them and if Villa meekly accept this then that's poor also.

Obviously. But still, it's utterly ridiculous. Twenty's Plenty is a good initiative that should be part of all competitions and fixtures.

I’m sure the “Fernando Torres of Finance” will have an update for us soon enough as to why he agreed to this. I like the fact they’ve tried to keep the cost reasonable but that’s now at the expense of those of us who can’t get tickets for away games and would have gone to this one as we’d get an increased allocation.

Exactly. I'm in Alty over Xmas/New Year and thought I might get the chance to see a game. I can probably arrange tickets in the home end but can't promise not celebrating our winning goal. Even if I didn't I'd probably stick out as the only person not filming the game on my phone.
-
If it does go to a replay , I hope we give them a similar allocation . Giving them the whole of the North Stand would be a massive kick in the guts.
-

Surely that should work the other way, say £30 per ticket, but only if you take 6000?
-
I would guess that they don't want 10,000 of us there, they know we'd complain about the price, they'll sell tickets at £46 to their own supporters regardless so they've made sure we accept the bare minimum.
-

For the match we're getting 4% of the capacity, so if there's a replay, they get 4% of VP, which is approx 1,700.

That's what I'd do and the same when we draw them at home in the 3rd round next season.
-
You know, we all know, that would never happen.
-
[imgright][/imgright
So no chance then of taking another allocation once the 3048 are sold ? As my 2 sons and I live between 4 and 20 miles away, we were really keen to get tickets for this one
-
Friend a Man Utd season tickets holder,he paying 37 pounds for Stretford End, he can't go because of work and still getting charged regardless
-
At least it's only £30. Can only assume that we negotiated that to take the lower allocation.
£30 is the cap for Premier League away ticket prices so they’re hardly doing us any favours.
We’ve gone from taking potentially 10-12,000 fans on a Saturday afternoon to having 3000 on a Monday night. What a piss take.
-
I suspect there won't be anyone in the ground by the time the game comes around.
-
In one way I'm pleased about this - after a few years of being generally shite and having a bit of the arrogance knocked out of them, I had ever so slightly started to mellow on this lot. Then they come along and remind you just why they are absolutely the biggest bunch of cnuts in football.

I remember a league game at Old Trafford in the late 80’s where we must have taken the best part of 10,000 fans, paying on the gate. Took everyone by surprise. They just kept opening extra pens in the Scoreboard End to let more Villa fans in. It was incredible. We were packed so tightly that we couldn’t lift up our hands to protect ourselves from the fireworks that the Man United fans were firing into our end.
-
Ah, the good old days. Remember it well.
-
This one? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-QNyaOMSlc)
-
That's the one! I think it was that one I got home in record time from, thousands of us herded onto a really short train at Warwick Road, wedged in tighter than on the terrace, and it blasted back, only stopping at Wolverhampton to swap coppers. I was in the Red Lion in Kings Heath before 7.
-
3,048!!!! Wankers.
-
Bloody Steve Bruce with the header. Nice break-away from McInally and finish from Sid to level it up.

We had tickets, but it was madness, I know a few lads that ended up on the Stretford End.
The bloody fog when we got back as well, you couldn't see Aston Church from the path outside.
-
And I'll never wipe the image of the dear old grannies above us in the seats calling us everything under the sun as we were leaving.
-
Only 900 gone, with 1865 eligible. Could still see this going to general sale.

There were some proper darlings up there over the years, vicious, foul mouthed and with faces like Arthur Mullard.

Any idea if any still left now that it's gone to 4+ PL Aways this season ?

Its not a suprise. Crap ko day and time, and also whats happening in the world today. Putting people off.
-
1200 left.
-
Good job that we did not get 8,000 tickets for this game?
-
I'd be surprised if this isn't behind closed doors. Same as the home game a few days later.
