With all the bluenose speculation surrounding us Villans and where we live and come from (Shires maybe ?), I thought it would be interesting to see where everyone was born and where they abide now.
I was born 1957, in Dudley Road Hospital, lived in Great Barr (Cramlington Road) for 24 years and now live in Liverpool
-
I was born in Kidderminster but we moved to Erdington about two weeks later. You could see the Villa Park floodlights from my bedroom. Due to my dads job we moved
about so much I now live in Sussex and have done for nearly
30 years.
-
Aardvark.
-
I was born in Smethwick, deep in the heart of Stripeyfilth land. I have lived in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight since 1996.
-
Marston Green, grew up in Sheldon which despite the location I always found to be majority Blues in older generations but 50:50 for my age group probably due to early 80s success.
Since lived in Leicester (early 90s) Nottingham (late 90s to mid tweenies) Castle Brom and moved to Shirley earlier this year. The latter 2 I still had mental image would be more Blues than Villa but found that simply isn't the case.

Most Villa fans I have bumped into down here have hailed from Castle Brom.
-
Born near Carlisle, moved to Washwood heath in 1953 then Ward End onto Marston Green when I married till 1990 then got a ticket to Ryde ;)
-
Born in Marston Green General, grew up Shard End / Hall Green/ Shirley. Lived in various parts of the Northwest since the early 1990s. Currently on a farm just north of Preston.
-
Born in Highgate Street, Highgate, moved to Northfield about 1963 and no we are not outnumbered by the mob from Small Heath
-
Born Marston Green, now Yardley Massive. Probably more Blose than Villa but not to the same extent that the local Heathens would have you believe. Reckon about 60/40 in their favour. Formerly lived in Acocks Green and that was roughly the same IMO. Maybe 55/45.
-
Born Lincoln, bought up in Cambs, moved to Lichfield in late teens and worked in Brum so came to the Villa quite late in my early 20s. Lived in various Cheshire towns and villages since the early 90s.
-
Born in Walsall, lived in Lichfield (almost) all my childhood. Then lived a rather nomadic lifestyle, before settling in Wrexham. My Dad's side of the family are all Villa supporters, and are from the Cotswolds.
So yeah, to be fair I'm from the shires and absolutely confirm their stereotypes.
-
Born on Fentham Road, Aston. Lived in Great Barr, Kingstanding and Streetly before moving south.
-
Worcester for me. All Man U and Liverpool when I went to school (80s). Not many Villa. Now in London/Surrey borders.
-
Born at Marston Green, moved to Solihull from Sheldon pretty much straight away and still here 50 years on.
-
Born in Holly Lane Erdington and moved to Kingstanding when I was 6 months old. Moved to Walmley at 15 and then to Saundersfoot at 26. Been here for 34 years.
-
Born marston green and lived 6 months in chelmsley wood. Moved to Solihull stones throw from brum border then southern Solihull. Now live in Yardley
-
Born Birches Green Erdington. Moved to my own first house in Tame Road Witton then Great Barr onto Walsall and soon to be Plymouth.
-
Born and raised in Stourbridge, hung around in Oxford for a bit after university, lived in Sheffield for a few months, the US for a few years where I developed a twang which has seen me confused for an Antipodean both here and in the US (and had a landlord in Stourbridge refusing to accept I was from there) despite never having crossed the Tropic of Cancer, then Glasgow 15 years ago, and fairly shortly thereafter out of town to the fjord with the nukes where I lasted for nearly a decade before moving to Greenock.
Have moved enough that my heart isn't anywhere, nowhere feels like home, everywhere I feel like an alien, but I don't have to be invested...
-
Another Marston Green Child, we seem to be in the majority.
Aston Church road as a babe
Dad kept a few pubs (dives) one off the stratford rd.
six year sojourn in Coventry, back to complete my childhood/teenage years in Ward End
-
Born in Kings Heath, moved to Lichfield around 5 years ago
-
Brought up in Stourbridge moved to Erdington via Alum rock at 8 till 23 Edgbaston,Great Barr and Streetly followed, and then European adventures returning to Llandudno i 2009 and at present NSW
-
Born at the QE in Brum and live in Redditch
-
Haven’t travelled far.
Bought up in Stirchley, now Northfield via West Heath and Kings Norton
-
Born in Solihull, raised on the border between there and The Peoples Republic of Sheldon where I stayed until about 20 years ago when I moved to the Black Country.
There were plenty of objectionable 'Noses around and the odd reasonable one when I was growing up but over here there are very few but plenty of Sandwell fans who are much less confrontational or violent but a lot easier to wind up.
-
Born in Saltley left as a teenager. Moved around the country quite a bit moved back to Brum 20 years ago. Now firmly entrenched in Nechells for the last 16 years. Can easily walk to Villa Park from home.
-
Born in Brum (the QE) but lived in the Bromsgrove/Barnt Green area until I was 18 when the family moved to Edgbaston. Stayed in Bham for the next 15 years, including 3 years in Brookvale Park, Erdington, 20 minutes or so walk from VP. Moved away in '87 for work, travelled round a bit before settling in the Bristol area in' 96, have been in North Somerset for the past 9 years.
-
Was born in Balsall Heath intend to return to Nice to see out my nomadic life.
-
Born in Cambridge, live in Duxford.
My family come from all over Birmingham , Mom's family are mainly blues and Dad's side are all Villa.

-
Have travelled very far. Born in Leytonstone, East London. Lived in Chasetown for a while when I was a kid. Now live just outside Christchurch in New Zealand.
-
Born in Good Hope and lived in Walmley all of my 51 years but finally escaping to Lichfield later this year! My dad was from Hockley and mom from Erdington, both Villa families. also distant relative of the one and only Andrew Pugh (although never met him). If you don't know who he is....think 1957
-
I was from Bournville then Selly Park but live in Blakedown worcestershire now.
-
Born Upper Thomas Street, Aston (house share with grandparents). Then we were re-housed in Ladywood when I was 18 months old followed by a final family move to Erdington when I was 10. (Thus, I've avoided bluenose territories!). Taught early on, that you breathed in Villa and incorporated it in your DNA - like the vinegar and sauce aromas from the H.P. Sauce factory (where I worked for a few years). Since then - apart from a brief interlude in South Wales - have been permanently based in Warwickshire.
(N.B. Whatever these credentials mean, on their own, doesn't make me a fan 'considerably better than yow!')
-
Raised in Hockley Heath (Solihull) and automatically supported Villa because my dad is a lifelong fan (he was raised Grove Lane, Handsworth and thankfully chose Villa rather than Albion). Have since lived in Harborne, Bearwood, Norton Lindsey (nr Warwick) and now am in the Redditch area. All these areas have just about had majority Villa fans from what I've seen.
-
Born - Dudley Road - Christmas day 1963 (Best present my parents ever had ;)_
Brought up - Great Barr - could also see lights and sounds from VP on night games from my bedroom and i knew my Dad was there and as soon as Mom let him he would be taking me there
First game - October 1969 (Huddersfield - think it was 4-0 on a Wed night) remember my Dad giving the gate man a coin and i was lifted over the turnstile and the crowd just stunned me, i had never seen so many people, i say people it was just men - my Mom went ballistic as most of second half me and other kids my age spent our time playing in the mud at the back of the Witton end.
Married - lived in Smethwick for 12 years
Moved back to Great Barr in 2001
Moved to Kingstanding in 2009
Have met many characters along the way of supporting our team
-
Born in the QE, spent early yeast on Endicotte Road Aston. Now live in Northfield.
-
Born in Good Hope, lived in Erdington till 7, then Castle Brom till 23, then Erdington, Moseley, Coleshill, Moseley again, Solihull, Coleshill and finally back to Castle Brom for the last 10 years.
When I used to work in the Bradford Arms, there were a fair few noses in the older lads, but from my age on it's all Villa.
-
Handsworth>London>Sutton Coldfield> London>New York>Delaware>London>Tunbridge Wells>Crowborough
The London and Sutton periods involved multiple domiciles, one of which was a converted RAF Air Sea Rescue tender from WW II moored on the Thames just a little downstream from Teddington lock.

P.S. We didn't have the guns, nor the engines.
-
Born in cattell road small heath , moved to bordesley green at about 13, I then moved to west brom when I was about 30. Now living on the west coast of Scotland for the last twenty years.
-
Born Solihull Hospital, lived in South Bham (went to Kings Norton Boys Sch), ended up in the shires like Lichfield and Cannock Chase. Lots of us up here though.
-
Born Dudley Road Hospital in 1974. Lived round the corner in the Hockley/Spring Hill area till I was 20. Then Stoke on Trent for a few years mid 90s, back to Hockley for a few more years, after which Great Barr for 5 years and then Boldmere in Sutton Coldfield for last 15 years.
My first game was in feb 82 at old Trafford, lost 1-4, followed by December 82 at home to Liverpool, lost 2-4, then the same month away at blues, lost 0-3. I can’t actually remember the first game I saw us win. Went to those first couple of games with my dad and his mate who was a mad Villa fan. My dad was more of a football fan than a supporter of any club. So I started to go regularly at the age of 9/10 with a friend from my estate in Hockley and his dad. I’ve got some memories of those early seasons, beating Albion 3-1 around new year in maybe 83 or 84, but my memories of matches become a lot clearer in the year before we got relegated and then the relegation season in mid 80s. I now go down with my 11 year old son and 14 year old daughter (when she can make it!!) and sit in the lower Holte.
-
Reading through this thread makes me miss my roots. I am proud to be a Brummie and a Villan. Makes me want to ask, what road in Kingstanding, Great Barr, Streetley, etc!!
-
Born in the Sorrento hospital Moseley.
Brought up in Kings Heath.
Lived in Hall Green for the last 20 years.
Might retire to Shirley.
Although I'd been to games before, the first game I can clearly remember is Bournmouth in 1972.
-
I was born under the Holte End stand
I was born under the Holte End stand

Brought up on the Witton End
Back to the Holte for many years
Now in Trinity Road I spend
-
Born in Marston Green maternity hospital. Lived in Kingshurst, Chelmsley, Marston Green, Chelmsley, Marston Green, Moseley, Chelmsley, in that order.
-
Dad from Aston Hall rd, mom 91 Erdington hall lane, then Ackers Green, Kiddy, Swanlea, Orpington Radlett, Canterbury, Bedford, Chester, Johannesburg, Pasedena, Cape Town, Yorkshire.
Cape Town was the best by a mile.
-
Dudley Road Hospital, lived initially in Aston until 3, rest of my childhood in Erdington. Birches Green nursery and infant school, then King Edwards Aston.
-
Born at Stafford hospital 5/2/1986.
Raised in Heath Hayes near Cannock, still live here now.
Have only lived in three houses, my parents house then two of our (my wife and i’s) own homes, all in Heath Hayes.
So a pretty settled, or dull, story compared to some on here.
-
Born in King's Heath, lived in Shirley before emigating to Australia.
I remember at school in Shirley that most of the kids followed Small Heath as you would expect although it seems like it's a bit more even these days.
Lucky that my Dad worked in Erdington and had an affection for Villa and took me to my first game and resulting lifelong Villa passion.
-
Born Sorrento hospital, Moseley.
Brought up in Aston (Priory Road)
Moved to Acocks Green when I was 11 but continued going to school in Nechells.
In Solihull for the last 33 years.

Born in Marston Green Maternity Hospital immediately after the creation of the NHS. Until the age of six we lived an itinerant lifestyle of dingy digs, a caravan in Stourport including a few moonlight flits of which I only remember a couple. We also lived with relatives from time to time until my old pair were given a maisonette in Sheldon.
From Sheldon we moved to the hell-hole that is Wyrley Birch which,TBF, was brand new when we got there. From there down to College Road Kingstanding when finally I got married and moved into our first house in Great Barr. We then moved into our second house in Great Barr and then on to where we are now in Roscommon in the West of Ireland where we have been for the past thirty-four years which have been happy.
I still miss Brum where the pull is still strong; and especially the Villa the love of which comes from the old man who was born in Manor Road so I couldn't have been anything else really. I could never see me coming back although when you get to my age you learn never to say never so who can tell?
-
Born in Lichfield, grew up in Shirley, last 20 years in Porthleven .
-
Born and brought up in Shirley. My school teacher dad bought me a Villa shirt when I was 7 and it was AVFC from then on. All my mates were Blues fans so i bucked the trend. Still remember the slow bus (blue and cream) from near where i lived all the way to VP. Lived most of my adult life in London, apart from 4 years in Spain in the 80s. Still get the same thrill every time I walk into the hallowed ground.
-
Born in Dudley Road Hospital, lived in Smethwick (near the GKN Rec) growing up. A brief stay in Sheffield for Uni, then back to Smerrick. When my works closed down after Rover shut, I was relocated with my family to the Beds/Bucks border (near Leighton Buzzard), and here I remain.
I started on the Witton with my Dad who has been going to Villa Park since before WW2. I also used to spend half the game sliding down the muddy bank at the back of the terrace. 73/4 was when I made my debut. 80/81 first season ticket on Holte End which I held for 19 years until I moved my family and reluctantly gave it up. Now I’m lucky to get to 1 or 2 games a season.
Here’s me and the old man from a couple of seasons ago…

That's a wonderful picture Mike. He would have some stories to tell.

The Galton Bridge Spiderman, or am I thinking of someone else?
-
Born in Walsall and lived there until I went to London for Uni in 1987. All family Wolves fans, but my Aunty married a Villa fan who insisted they took us to VP and not the custard bowl, God bless him!! They bought me season tickets from 79-84 and he took me to Rotterdam. Lived in London and Cornwall through Uni years and just after, travelled to Oz for a year and back to Kingston Upon Thames where we bought 1st house. Moved to Bedford 3 years later and re-married 2 years ago and now live near Epsom in Surrey.
Don't miss Walsall one bit, apart from the easy 15 mins on the 51 bus from the Crest to Perry Barr and walk down to VP.
Son born and bred in Bedford, bought up a Villa fan but dallied with Arsenal as ALL his mates were gooners, but he is firmly back in the fold now I'm glad to say!!
-
Cocked up an edit!!
-
The Galton Bridge Spiderman, or am I thinking of someone else?

-
Born at Marston Green. Lived most of my life in Tamworth apart from a stint in Stechford (that was fun - walking into the Richmond in a Villa shirt) and Erdington.
-
Born in Neville Road Erdington, which is approx' 1 mile away from VP as the crow flies. Lived in Erdington for first 26 years - moved around for 5 years (Oz, Gateshead)
Last 21 years living in Ireland (Westmeath, now Kildare)
-
Born around Wake Green. Moved to Bournville (not Trust) at 6. There til the day I left school. Then Kings Heath (two abodes), Cotteridge, Kings Norton, Bearwood for the last near fifteen years. No Villa strongholds, son of lapsed nose, thank my Welsh migrant grandad for pointing me in the right direction. Currently steeling myself for a move to my first address that won't have a B postcode.

Having lived all over London for years, I hated briefly moving to a TW postcode more than was rational. I fled to Mexico in shame after less than a year.

WV, mate. I'm having a little bit of a panic now just thinking about it.

I'm currently temporarily resident in a south Shropshire WV postcode. I escape next month, but it's been painless. They just have numbers in Mexico, the soulless ghouls.

I don't remember it :D

Born in Solihull, spent first two years in Olton, just off the Lincoln Road. Dad moved us for work to Wordsley just north of Stourbridge and have lived in and around Wordsley, Kingswinford area ever since. Plenty Villa over here including all my six kids, so I'm doing my bit! But unfortunately we're still out numbered by dog heads and stripeys. Noses are a very rare sight round these parts which is of course a huge blessing.

I work in Kingswinford
too many dog heads and baggy bastards.

I was born at home in Kingstanding but joined the RAF and moved all over the country and parts of the world spreading the Villa word. Settled in Peterborough and still live here.

Born in stoke newington now leaving in outskirts of london in Hertfordshire

Good question i get asked this alot when people round here ask why i support villa as not many villa fans near me. My god brother lived in birmingham in the solihull area. He was older than me so i supported who he did.
Spurs are probably my most local club and i detest them

Always remember that there was a waste bin outside the cemetery gates..4'x4'x4'. Empty first thing in the morning. By 5 at night it was overflowing with empty cans of super strength lager and day to days all lay outside the gates off their heads.
-
Born in Solihull hospital: lived in Solihull for the first 18 years of my life, surrounded by Bluenoses and Elmdon Reds. In my mid-to-late-teens, I was a drinking buddy with some Villa fans from Dorridge, including Ken 'Spizz' Spires.
Went to Leicester (Uni), Manchester (Uni), Wimbledon and then to Harrogate (32 years' ago); still there. My wife's a Yorkshire lass, is why we moved.
First went to VP in April 1967 courtesy of my best mate's dad and was smitten by the experience. My younger brother (a Californian of 27 years) and son (born and bred in Yorkshire) have followed my example and are dyed-in-the-wool Villans.
-
Pleasantly surprised to see how many of us were born in Sorrento Hospital.
Yes, can’t believe we have so many Italian followers

With all the bluenose speculation surrounding us Villans and where we live and come from (Shires maybe ?), I thought it would be interesting to see where everyone was born and where they abide now.

-
Born in Portsmouth (Dad in Navy) into a Blues family - Dad took me to Bluenose v Norwich in 1975 one assumes with the hope of his son becoming one of them - I took one look at the grubby ground and shit kit, and heard the old fella slagging off Villa and well, found home. First saw Villa in 1977 (credit to the old man, he took me) and fell in love.
44 years later - nothing has changed. I still start every conversation with him with a sly dig at the shambles that is BCFC.

Remember spending a summer Saturday afternoon in the Yacatun bar in Stoke Newingtin around 1999/2000, very lively with a mix of Turks, Jamaicans and Irish. Wouldn’t know for defo but I imagine it would be the kind of pub swallowed up and sanitized through gentrification, like many a lively gaff in brum.
-
Born in Dublin, grew-up in Carlow/Kilkenny/Cork, lived in London for just shy of 9 years. The Villa bug was through the name, the colours and probably God.
-
Another one born in the Sorrento Maternity Home in Moseley. Then Malvern Hill Rd in Nechells, Hall Road in Handsworth, Perrywood Road in Great Barr, Beechdale Avenue in Great Barr, Warren Farm Road in Kingstanding (Dad became the caretaker at Christ the King primary school), Salford with work in 1974, Farnworth near Bolton, Didsbury in Manchester, Chorlton in Manchester, then last 2 houses in Norden in Rochdale. Dad and youngest brother were Albion, my other 2 brothers, my sister and myself became Villa fans along with my 2 sons born in Manchester but as rabid Villa fans as me.
-
Another born in the exotic sounding Sorrento, although I don’t remember any of the others being there.
Sparkbrook
Yardley
Sheffield
Sunny Donny, (25 miles and 25 years from Sheffield).
Welshpool
Hope valley, Shropshire.
-
I was born in Sorrento. I worked with a lady who drove ambulances in the war and could have taken Mom there. Moved to Smethwick, out to Halesowen then back to Edgbaston, a few miles from where it started. I have never wanted to be away from my family or the Villa.
-
Born in Dudley Road Hospital (Sorrento Hospital was too busy!) lived in Hockley, just off Key Hill.
Moved to Kings Norton around the age of 3/4 due to the build of the Hockley fly-over and underpass. Been in Kings Norton ever since.
Have my father to thank for supporting Villa he took me and my brother to our first games in 1967 and can remember watching, in awe arms wrapped around the railings on the Trinity Roads stand, absolute giants on the pitch like Charlie Aitken, Willie Anderson etc.
-
My god brother lived in birmingham in the solihull area. He was older than me so i supported who he did.
Assuming that’s not a typo, what’s a God Brother?
I was born in Marston Green hospital and have never lived anywhere without a B postcode in close to 50 years. Now in Sutton.
Quite fancy a move to the seaside mind.
