Was thinking of going over, it being pretty close and with our kids being mad in to watching the Tokyo olympics. Thinking probably go camping for a week or so. Anyone know how easy/hard it is to get tickets for these things when they're abroad? Is there some kind of official ballot thing like the 2012 olympics / 2014 & 2022 commonwealth games?

Usually there's a round of pre-registration and typically sponsors get to steer the course so to speak, so if Mastercard are a title sponsor they'll offer people with a Mastercard first round of pre-registrations then it'll be lower tier sponsors then the general public but that's just pre-registration, actual ticketing is a complete lottery, in 2012 you bid for the tickets you wanted and paid up front then waited for the draw results and got refunded if you weren't successful.
France RWC ticketing for 2023 opened for pre-registrations months ago by the way.

Just seen that the BBC - have decided to add that well known Olympics expert to their presenting line up -
First Dates star Fred Sirieix has joined the line-up of presenters for the BBC's coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The French chef and TV personality shot to fame as the Maître d' in the Channel 4 dating series following its launch in 2013.
I am surprised at this!

At a guess he's there in part because his daughter is in with a good chance of bringing home a medal for us.

No idea if anyone followed the English championships/olympic qualifying over the weekend but from it I think we have a very good chance of medals in mens and womens 400, 800 and 1500. Mens 400 is probably the least likely but Hudson-Smith looked very good stepping down to the 200m. If you are remotely interested and haven't seen it the run from 17 year old Phoebe Gill to win the 800m was truly exceptional and see looks like a superstar in the making.
Aside from that Asher-Smith looks absolutely bang in form and Hinchliffe looks like a special talent in the mens 100.

Just watching the opening ceremony for the Paralympics. Lovely weather in Paris for it, which is nice.
-
Mind you, making all these Paralympians convey themselves down the Champs Élysées is making it drag on a bit.
-
Fantastic ceremony. Loving it.
-
12 Paralympic gold medals in a single day is quite impressive.
-
