Sign some players please!
-
Carla Ward said that she'd be bringing in some players when she gave her first interview.
-
I read somewhere that the women do not start the new season until September ,that would explain why there does not seem to be much happening anywhere at any club
-
Some of those players look too nice.
Elisha N'Dow looks bloody fierce though. She'll be taking no shit from anyone!

She’s really nice as well, my daughters favourite player so when I mentioned it to one of the coaches she came and made a right fuss of her with pics, autographs and a long chat.
I only recognise her and two others now from the season before last.

Game face for the photo shoot!
It's great that they are pushing the women's game more and hopefully attracting more fans. Sounds like she's a great ambassador too. Nice one.
-
Just don't know if I'll ever get over Iwabuchi fcuking off to Arsenal.
-
Switzerland international forward Alisha Lehmann joins from West Ham.
-
Nice signing, like Jack for England wore No. 7 at WHU. https://www.reddit.com/r/HottestFemaleAthletes/comments/j1cocp/alisha_lehmann/
-
Hopefully signing Sarah Mayling from the Blues - contract was up today and a lifelong Villa fan like her dad….(not me!)
-
Good to see the women's team doing some business. We certainly need a few players in.
-
Yeah good to see we are starting to sign some decent players while over at Small Heath it is all about players leaving .Twelve players out of contract and so far at least four have said their goodbyes
-
Just don't know if I'll ever get over Iwabuchi fcuking off to Arsenal.
It was frowned upon slightly over here, as all 'job hopping' is in general. I know very little about the women's game, but aren't Arsenal an established member of the women's elite?

They are. And to be fair to her, she is a top class talent and came to us to get fit for a home Olympic tournament, helped keep us up and has now joined a bigger club. No issues whatsoever.
-

Signed! Her dad will be delighted
-
Another signing to upset those morons over in Small Heath
-
They have made some good signings in this window.
-
I did not know she was Small Heath player of the season last year so we have taken their manager and best player I love it
-
Is that four new signings?
-
Switzerland international forward Alisha Lehmann joins from West Ham.
Sod Brighton away on a sunny August afternoon I much prefer the thought of a dull December Sunday watching Alisha :)
-
Have signed Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah from Everton as well. A 25 year old forward.
They are really moving fast to sign better players, it's good to see.
-
Good stuff, good luck all. 🙂
-
It gets better and better on the transfer front .Villa have announced that Small Heath goal keeper Hannah Hampton has agreed to join a far bigger club Aston Villa .Every time i saw her last season she was outstanding in keeping the score down .So we now have signed their manager and probably their two best players .No wonder they hate da villa
-
It’s looking like the women are a year behind the men with all this recruitment
-
Which is fair enough, as they got promoted a year after the men. And welcome, Happy Hannah Hampton. 🙂
-
Brown, Goodwin, McLoughlin and Gregory all in the England U19 squad for the July training camp prior to a game against Czech Republic on the 30th.
-
When does Alisha make her debut

Did well promotion season but always looked pretty ordinary to me.
-
Good, solid full-back -wish she'd stayed.
-
We've signed Mayumi (Maz) Pacheco from West Ham. https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/august/Mayumi-Pacheco-joins-Villa-Women-/
She seems very nice. https://twitter.com/AVWFCOfficial/status/1427332076488073218
-
Irish international Ruesha Littlejohn (no relation to Richard) has joined on a short-term contract.
https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/september/Ruesha-Littlejohn-joins-Villa-Women-/
-
Villa 0 Leicester 1, keeper chucks one in having made a brilliant save a few minutes earlier from the same player.
-
Gooooaaaalll. One each. Sarah Mayling free kick.
-
Goooaaaallll. Two-one to Villa. Remi Allen.
-

-
Leicester somehow fail to equalise from about an inch out.
-
bloody hell the girls are nearly as nerve wracking as the boys , how did Leicester miss that ?
-
Villa hold on to win. 🙂
COYVG.
-
well done the women
-
Great result.
-
When i was watching earlier i was wondering where theyoung full back, Ale was.
Just seen the line ups for Spuds v Blues and she's in the Spuds line up. Didn't realise she'd left.

No worries, I in turn feel bad for not posting the 'Kenneth Williams' meme in response.

You might need to pop in more often to stay on top of the ladies and their latest news.
-
I blame growing up with Rik Mayall on the tv for everything becoming a double entendre.
-
Good win for the ladies as it would have been a little deflating to lose the first game to a newly promoted team. Tougher tests ahead.
-
Away at West Ham and Brighton next, two teams we should be looking to be in and around by the end of the season.
-
Well done ladies
-
My mate’s daughter gets the first.

Great goal, wish we had someone in the bloke's team to take a free kick like that!
Had to laugh at the number 4 trying to smack in the rebound though!
-
We've signed an Australian Olympian, Emily Gleinik. CDBWF will be chuffed. ;)
https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/september/Emily-Gielnik-joins-Villa-Women/
Now official. https://twitter.com/AVWFCOfficial/status/1435562811120291840

Happy with that, seems we are adding players who play for top countries, the Aussies beat Britain in the Olympics as I recall. I was moaning about it. 😄

Live on Sky, today. Assume a stream will be available for those who want to find one. COYVG.
-
If you have a basic Sky entertainment package, as I do, it looks as if this game will be shown live on Sky Showcase channel 106 at no extra cost.
Certainly getting all the pre-match 'chat' on that channel now.
-
As confirmation the game is listed in What's On TV magazine on Sky Showcase channel 106.
Also listed is the men's game vs Chelsea this afternoon to be shown live on the same channel 106. Coverage starts at 5.00pm with ko at 5.30pm.
-
Bugger! 1-0 to them
-
Good spot, Nelson. Have shared that info on the Villa v Chelsea thread.
Aaaand... horrific defending gifts West Ham the lead.
-
Got to say that’s some of the poorest defending I’ve seen for that goal.
-
Got to say that’s some of the poorest defending I’ve seen for that goal.
Nearly "bettered" just now. Lucky not to be two down.
-
Bloody hell!…nearly gifted them a second
-
The defence doesn't look great.
-
This could be an absolute thrashing (I resisted the urge to say "Hammering"). Wake up, Villa!
-
The standard of the defending has been absolutely terrible.
-
Ward out
-
We seem to have grown into it a bit.
-
Yeah, was just thinking the same.
-
We seem to have grown into it a bit.
Yes, it seems to have calmed down a bit
-
Nearly an equaliser. Looking more like it now, at last. Still fearful about what happens when West Ham attack again.
-
Should have scored from that corner.
-
We're the better team now.
-
Close again from another corner
-
Need to score while on top. I wonder how many Villa fans are doing both games today?
-
Allen having a good game.
-
Some nice skills there by Pacheco
-
Allen having a good game.
She’s a little dynamo…here, there, everywhere…
-
Another chance missed. Will regret these.
-
1-0 half-time….need to take our chances when we get them
-
On virgin channel 110, Chelsea game on later
-
They're getting all the run of the ball. Mind you I suppose we might have been a bit lucky last week.
-
Penalty appeal turned down. Would have been soft.
-
There didn’t seem to be a lot in it…
-
Save.
-
Great save by Hampton
-
Nearly two-nil.
-
I wonder what the ‘99’ neck tattoo on our player (7) is all about?
Unless she’s a big fan of Nena.
-
Born in 1999.
-
Handbags from the women guess its not just us men that get pissed off in games 😂
-
It’s getting a bit scrappy, isn’t it?
-
So close.
-
Two saves from keeper, hit the post and woeful shot from the rebound. Really should be level now, FFS.
-
Two good chances…really need to take these
-
We ain't scoring today.
-
I think you maybe right
-
The referee is great at giving us free kicks when we already had possession.
-
Then awards us a ludicrous free kick from a massive dive 😄
-
That was the chance.
-
Miracle save from the West Ham keeper. Really thought that was in. Destined not to score.
-
Any chance we could get Sarah Mayling to train the lads how to take a set piece?
-
We deserve something from the game.
-
Bastard keeper again.
-
Come the fuck on!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
YAAAAAASSS
-
Get In!
-
Get in the girls!
-
Fully deserved for Villa and for her.
-
Allen has been our best player, delighted for her.
-
They deserved that equaliser…
-
Only seen the second half but that’s the least they deserve.
-
Full time, a deserved draw. WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE I SAID WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE.
-
I switched on 10 mins ago. Should have won that from those bits I seen.
-
Excellent
-
A nervy start but then grew into the game…unbeaten in two now
-
A nervy start but then grew into the game…unbeaten in two now
Unbeaten in seven, going back to last season. Nice to see us getting the late equaliser, for a change.
-
The BBC match report
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58444980
-
Didn't see it but nice to see them score rather than concede late on. See they wore the third kit. Looked alright, more Dundee than Blues I would say.
-
Alisha Lehmann scored the first goal in Switzerland's 4-1 win against Lithuania, Chloe Arthur was a 90th minute sub in Scotland's 2-0 win in Hungary.
-
Lehmann scores again after coming on as sub in Switzerland's 6-0 win in Moldova.
Chloe Arthur gets her first two Scotland goals in the 7-1 win against Faroe Islands.
-
ROI beat Australia 3-2 but Ruesha Littlejohn wasn't playing.
-
Missed that one, my app doesn't have friendlies. Looks like Emily Gielnik played for the Aussies.
-
Team for this afternoon’s game against Brighton
Game is live on FA Player ( https://faplayer.thefa.com/home/all )
(https://i.ibb.co/t2jQ6Xc/B79-E2528-87-D4-4-B10-9437-37-B1-B980-E4-AC.jpg) (https://ibb.co/t2jQ6Xc)
-
Having scored two in two for Switzerland, of course Lehmann misses out through illness. The Villa Curse doesn't respect gender boundaries.
-
Good save by 'Appy 'Annah. Relatively even so far.
-
Some tenacious tackling going on by both sides!
-
Elsewhere, Man U lost 6-1 at home. Okay, it was to Chelsea, who are fairly irksome in their own right, but still nice to see them having a thoroughly miserable weekend and know that, for once, we contributed to it. Blose lost 3-1 at Everton and have lost every game so far.
-
We are definitely on top but without really looking too much like scoring at any point.
-
Brighton forward having a touch of Targettitis there…still 0-0 after 38mins. Hampton being the busier of the two goalkeepers
-
Should've taken the lead, Gielnik unable to capitalise from Brighton defensive cock-up.
-
Halftime score 0-0….pretty even contest
-
Villa corner cleared off the line.
-
GOOOOAAAAAAALLLL
-
Yes…get in!
-
Gielnik races clear and finishes really well. That's her first Villa goal of, hopefully, many.
-
The captain Remi Allen is like a female John McGinn…she is a pocket dynamo and takes a fair bit of stick off the opposition’s players
-
I think the women are in need of an Austin McPhee equivalent…some of the throw-ins have been poor
-
5 minutes added on. Not sure where they've found them....
-
Nearly a catastrophic equaliser, keeper cleared it against the Brighton forward and... just wide for a goal kick. Arguably the defender should have got rid of it much earlier.
-
Victory! Seven points from nine and second in the league. 🙂🙂🙂
-

Sorry forgot Spuds playing and have won.....2nd it is...
-
Yeah we were top in the live table for a bit before Tottenham took the lead.

She's great, isn't she?

Let's hope the Irish Centre near White Hart Lane have got it on.

Another Villa team confounding the pre season pundits’ predictions :)

Not any more. Been moved to Saturday 5.15.

Is it still on BBC tv?

Yes
-
Arsenal are looking the best team this season and although there's been some Villa improvement we've had 3 easier fixtures.
I'm yet to be totally convinced and can only see a loss next week.
There's a clear standard and level which Arsenal are at.
When they have world class players likes of Tobin Heath and our ex Iwabuchi on the bench and bring on as well as having one of the best strikers in world football in Vivianne Miedema if not best player then that's the difference in quality.
Villa women are off to a good start and it's important to get those results we've had as there are way tougher matches ahead the season and hoping we'll be competitive next week against one of if not the strongest team who have a very strong and winning record in women's game
For me I'm just super glad Arsenal wacked Man City women 5-0 today.
-
Ahead of today's tough game there's a Carla Ward article on the BBC. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58359890
-
Be a defeat today but more improtantly of that just hope some competitive effort is shown . Arsenal players though are far superior and another level so please people don't be too harsh when judging Villa women today.
We may be in same league but at the moment I a different league and it's progress Villa women are after.
The 3 matches so far have shown some good play however Villa women have yet to have played against any higher calibre team yet so today is a real proper test. And despite a good start and undefeated I don't expect Villa to be challenging at the top of women's football just yet unlike Arsenal who are quality club in the women's game.
-
If The women can compete in the mid table 5th to 8th spots all season that will be excellent progress.
-
If The women can compete in the mid table 5th to 8th spots all season that will be excellent progress.
If the women don't lose 4-0 today like we did last time Arsenal at home that's aslo an improvement
-
Shame the weather has probably put off some today.
Bit surprised they didn't open up lower Holte and put a few fans in there.
-
Women's football getting the long lens camera treatment. Impossible to tell where the ball is when these corners.
-
Live on BBC Sport.
-
It's interesting that the commentary and analysis is as weighted towards the top teams in the WSL as it is in the Premier League. It seems all about how Arsenal can go top of the table with no mention of how a Villa win would put us top.
-
Live on BBC Sport.
Live on BBC2
-
It's been attack v defence so far with our girls under pressure.
-
Under the cosh a bit in the last few minutes, did well to get to half-time. Still, happy enough with 0-0, so far. Hopefully we can sneak a goal somewhere, maybe a set piece.
-
We've done OK so far. Arsenal on top, but no real clear cut chances.
-
Can’t Alex Scott pronounce our name properly 🤦♂️
-
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
Arsenal bring on Quisling. I have a bad feeling about this.
-
yep. arsenal already look better.
-
We've started the second half the way we finished the first, defending too deep.
-
crap
-
That had been coming.
-
There's an offside earlier, surely?
-
Little cameo by Sir Brian.
-
Fucking knew it. 🙄
-
Getting ugly now. Well beaten by a far better team, we still have some way to go before we are competing with the likes of these.
-
I'll take a draw now.
-
Getting ugly now.
Arsenal fans in the home end giving it loads celebrating the 3rd. :(
-
Surprised they've stayed this long.
-
No luck there. Same score as last season then.
-
run out of steam, had a go first half. Arsenal different level tbh
-
Think four-nil is a bit harsh but they've been comfortably the better team.
-
Getting ugly now.
Arsenal fans in the home end giving it loads celebrating the 3rd. :(
Well its the only way Arsenal are getting one over us.
-
Aston Villa 0-4 Arsenal: Jonas Eidevall's side score four second half goals at Villa Park - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58667924
-
Gulf between top and bottom (or mid table based on how we've started the season) is so much more vast than in mens league.
Think that's one of the things that will stop attendances rising significantly in future until a few more teams emerge to properly challenge Chelsea, Arsenal and Man. City (although they've had a few poor results so far).
-
Iwabuchi a world class player we had the honour of her playing for Villa for a short time
That's the thing she moves on tl Arsenal and all the top players play for the top clubs and if they don't they will move there.
-
Back in action today away to Reading. 2pm kick off, game is on the FA Player for free if you register with them.
Gielnik still out injured.
-
Just a thought:do the ladies shout "man on" or "woman on" ?
-
1-0 down to a fluke
-
I'd imagine "man on", as it's quicker.
Anyway, one-nil to Reading. I blame the arsehole jinxy commentator who was just saying "Reading haven't scored this season" as the ball was heading towards our goal.
-
Two-nil. We don't look too bad going forward but the defence has been all over the place since the start.
-
2-0 not a fluke
-
Oh no.
I’m going to stop reading this and cut off from following the match, that sometimes works. Still time to turn this around!
-
Zero threat I'm afraid
-
Oh and 3-0.Just shows what happens if you have a shot
-
3-0. Decent shot, but she has the freedom of the ground. This is our worst performance of the season by some distance. Reading aren't even any good, we have just peen pathetic.
I've stopped watching, so hopefully they'll get better now.
-
Back to the Villa women of last season i hate to say .Basic errors all over the pitch and like last season absolute no threat going forward ,i can't remember their keeper making a save .As for our keeper she sure is prone to a few clangers
-
Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton called into the England squad .
-
Hadn't we got a German keeper in last year, has she left or just not preferred?
-
The few times I saw her she looked absolutely hopeless.
-
Yeah, Hampton is a big improvement on Weiss, IMO.
-
playing 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' right now in the cup

Just turned it on and Villa score a fantastic goal on the break 1-0
-
Hurray!
-
Just turned it on and Villa score a fantastic goal on the break 1-0
Sh!t on the Scousers...
-
Rubbish defending. Not impressed in either our general play or shape.
-
1-1 ft lost on pens
-
The girl who missed the pen we signed her from Everton in the summer Still waiting for her to have a decent game Carla Ward seems reluctant to attack ,the plan seemed to be sit back and defend after the early goal .
-

Yeah, Ward has made us a backwards team

Yeah, Ward has made us a backwards team
A bit like her team of last season?
-
Watched the Arsenal game and the whole team were struggling. I know Arsenal are a top team but completely out of our reach tbh
-
Chelsea today, kick off 1230. To say I'm not confident would be an understatement. I see Gielnik is still out, the women copying the men's injury performance.
-
Lost one-nil, and was miraculous it was only one-nil by the sound of it (didn't watch).
-
The women did really well.
-
The scoreline was no disgrace and Blose and Leicester lost so no real harm done.
Blose next... shame it clashes with the T20 Final. Will have to watch the football on my phone.
-
I must admit i was expecting a good hiding and was surprised we kept it to just 1-0 Lets be honest though it should have been a lot more We only had three shots at goal and none of them on target How Carla Ward expects us to score i just dont know If we do not score against Small Heath next week we never will
-
It would help if our new signing, who scored the winner last time she played, was ever fit. No idea when she's back, it's even more difficult to get accurate injury information for the women than it was from Dean Smith!
-
Is Glenlnik made of glass like our men wingers ,seems like it
-
From a couple of days ago, so hopefully she will be fit for The Sty?

Blues coming more in to it now, i fear an equaliser before long.

Job done. Congratulations on winning the city!

Does anybody else have trouble accessing the FA Player? The app chucks me back out of the sign in page every time I try to use it, and it refuses to fully open in Chrome on my mobile, just keeps spinning once I've input my password. Opened fine in DuckDuckGo, but now I can't cast it. Shite.

0-4, Lehman’s after 70 mins

2-0 down after 13 minutes, Utd awarded a dodgy penalty….Surprise, surprise
-
5-0
Get rid of Carla Ward now
-
It is hard work watching Villa ladies under this Carla Ward They are so boring and weak .They hardly ever score which is no surprise really as we never have a shot and the match plan seems to be keep the score down We are lucky that Small Heath who managed to give Leicester their first ever win today are in the same league and will keep us up
-
It seems that progress is being defined as being the best of the 4 no hopers and coming 9th or 10th.
-
It looks to me like the league and women's football in general needs a bit of a rethink in terms of structure. You've got 3 to 4 good teams in the WSL, and the England team winning 20-0 the other week. That says to me it's not been organised properly, and they're trying to do too much, too quickly, when the product doesn't really match the marketing.

Highlights from yesterday’s game

The women seem to be on the TSM step of their journey. I'm hoping that taking a shit defensive manager from the rabble over the road isn't followed by the run of poor appointments we had, if we can go directly to a Smith or Gerrard style appointment it'd be a nice timesaver.
-
The womens game in general is following the pattern of the men in that a 'big club' can throw money at it and get the best players from Britain and abroad. Hence why Man U, Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea are towards the top. Its a vanity project between them to mirror the mens league. If we were serious, we could plough £5m in and get some top players but what would the return on investment be? A few trophies maybe but still a few thousand at Bescot.
-
Further down the pyramid you have the Stourbridge women's team regularly trumpeting their successes (they win a cup match 20-0 last Sunday. What they never mention is that they're the only club at their level who pay their players.

Losing to Man City atm
-
1-0 up away to Leicester. A win would give them some badly needed breathing space at the bottom with Blose also winning.
-
Lehmann with a last minute winner. Leicester 1 Villa 2.

Oh dear blose just couldn't hang on. Shame.
-
Blues go back to the bottom...shame.
We are also above Everton who r currently losing at West Ham
-
Well done ladies
-
Played some good stuff at times but Hayles is a limited player!

The women’s team was their jewel in the crown.
Certainly one of the better teams until 2 or 3 years ago, but they’ve been really neglected.
-
Played some good stuff at times but Hayles is a limited player!
Her pace gets her in the team imo.
-
Apparently Villa Women supposed to be signing Jill Scott on loan till end of season - was a good player a few years back, don’t know if she still is
-
Yeah the signing has gone through, has over 150 caps for England, now probably past her best, even so I would have thought that's a great signing for us.

Much needed experience in WSL.
-
Hopefully she'll step up to manager and replace Carla Ward
-
Villa ladies are in the process of signing Roger de Courcey for some reason. No mention of Nookie unfortunately.

Shocking, especially as it's from Rayo Vallecano, who I'd always assumed were some of the 'good guys' of Spanish football.
In similar news, the Raith Rovers women's team have cut ties with the football club over signing David Goodwillie, a convicted rapist:
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/feb/02/womens-team-cut-ties-with-raith-rovers-over-david-goodwillie-signing

Raith now admitting they got it wrong and trying to cancel the transfer! Got to beware of getting into the same scenario by signing Bissouma, he may be cleared or be innocent but we should wait till he's in the clear before signing him up!
-
Edit: Risso highlighted a poor choice of words on my part :- the post that was here isn't relevant now

Nice one algy, I've deleted my post now.
-
0-1 down vs West Ham. GK clanger.
-
1-1 HT. Mrs Luiz.
-
2-1 West Ham with a stupid goal conceded by stupid playing out from the goalie.
-
This is the type of game we need to get something from. Losing here is a pain in the arse. Come of you Villans.
-
Hampton and Scott in the latest England squad, feels 'right' seeing Villa players in the England squad.

Jeez. should have been 2....

Shocking.

How does Lehmann manage to play in those false lashes? She looks utterly ridiculous.
-

They certainly seem to slow her down. No pace at all.
-
They’re as bad as the men in the final third.
-
Dougies woman has just done a foul throw.
-
Indeed Kippax. All a bit disjointed. Kick it forward and hope for something.
-
this has been a really poor performance.
-
How have they reached mid table by losing ten home games in a row?

FT - 0-1. Not great.

92nd minute winner for Chelsea.

That's cruel, good effort ladies.

We can’t buy a feckin win at Walsall.

Nearly safe from the drop :)
-
Our equaliser was the best headed goal I've seen in women's football, reminded me of Cam Archer's at Stamford Bridge.
Fantastic cross too from our young wundergirl, Laura Blindkilde. We should have won the game comfortably going on the highlights but fair fucks to them for keeping their heads-up and equalising quickly.
-
Half-time and we are drawing nil-nil at Tottenham.
It'll never last.
-
Great win for the women.
Chloe Arthur is some player.
-
It didn't last.... 87th minute winner by Ramona Petzelberger! We are mathematically safe, now, not that there has been much doubt given that Small Heath never win.
COYVG.

Just checked my calculator, we're safe from the drop!
Well done ladies

In action at 6pm vs Man Utd Women.

What's with all the Utd fans and flags? Are they Brummie Reds?
-
Good result, that. Well done ladies.

Finished 0-0, a creditable draw for the ladies.

Good stuff. Blues to come!!

Arsenal next. Be nice to cost the Japanese Grealish the title.

Well done ladies

Well done the Villa Women - hopefully the club will have them playing more often at VP soon
-

Aren't they supposed to be moving to Alexander Stadium after the Games?
-
Apparently it was our goalie, Sian Roger's first game in over a year and a half. Fair fucks to her, clean sheet on her comeback.
-
Bit of an odd season, some progress 10th to 9th and closer to the mid table teams but the home record of W1 D2 L7 with just Blues to play is truly woeful. Away is a different story with a W5 D1 L4 record but Arsenal still to play. Overall a bit better but need to be much more competitive at home next season.

Anita Asante retiring at the end of the season.

Live on BBC1 at 14.05hrs - I need to persuade my wife it'll be more exciting than the snooker!
-
At least some of the Television licence is being spent on Aston Villa being on the BBC. With the cost of living I'm considering getting rid of the Television as YouTube/Amazon prime is all you really need these days.
-
Losing 1-0.
-
I've put the snooker back on, they're gonna get battered.
-
Currently losing 5-0.
-
At least they make the men's team look slightly better
Dreadful stuff
-
6
-
7.
They better beat the slum-dwellers next week or I'd be searching for a new manager.
-
Stats are appalling
-
She's gotta go
-
It was a weakened team and they were playing the second best team in the league, in fairness.
Carla has improved the team from last season and will no doubt be expected to continue that next time.
Brighton conceded seven against Man City at the w/end. I don't think they're calling for Hope Powell to be sacked.
-
It's a very strange league, given the huge gap in quality between the top four and the rest of the league. I've only ever watched two women's fixtures, and the standard of the team in the top four was so far above their opponents it was like watching a premier league side playing a non-league side in the FA Cup.
It's only been a fully professional league for four years, and sometimes that shows. It will take time I think before the level is brought up such that the entire league is a bit more competitive. The Women's Championship is still part-time, so it's no surprise to see promoted teams struggle, the gap is wider than in the men's game. I'd love to see a successful women's team at Villa, and I hope over the next few years we can reduce close that gap to the top four in the way we hope the men's team will.
-
Does anyone have any idea what the parking situation will be with the game on Sunday - will the club have any car parks open? We usually go on the train to home matches, but with it being Sunday morning and presumably fairly quiet I was thinking that it would be easier to park close to the ground for this.
-
1-0 down to Blues atm. Our style of play is shocking. Negative .
-
8,367 there, which I think is easily our highest ever attendance. I keep meaning to get along to one of these games.
-
What is it with our shit home form? Blose women's forum must finally be getting karma for the Agent Ridgwell jibes with Agent Ward working her magic.

Do Pravda not have live audio of this? I've logged-in and can see they're still trying to flog tickets for this game but no match-day coverage even for VillaTV+ subscribers like myself.
-
Looks like Chelsea pipping Arsenal to title. The petty part of me is pleased to see Arsenal miss out after they took our best player to virtually never play her (sound familiar?), put eleven past us and somehow contrived to lose to Small Heath. The dickheads.
-

It's live on The FA Player.
-
Absolutely pathetic. Small Heath's first away clean sheet of the season. Ward needs to go, and we need to sign more players of the class of Iwabuchi and Scott and fewer ex-SH players.
-
8,367 there, which I think is easily our highest ever attendance. I keep meaning to get along to one of these games.
Great turn out but tons of free tix, I had 15 for my kids team.
-
Fair enough. Good initiative, hopefully they do it again. Preferably on a Saturday when the men aren't playing as I much prefer Saturday games.
-
Women’s game going on he same way as the mens. Big team syndrome
-
Alisha Lehmann won the women's Player of the Year. Well deserved, she's definitely been my favourite player this season.

Anita Asante retires with the Players' Player Award. Sarah Mayling won goal of the season for her free kick on the opening day against Leicester, while Laura Blindkilde Brown won Young Player.
